The course gives a good introduction into three main topics of data analysis: Python coding, SQL and Tableau.
To me, the Python was not challenging, but a good ramp up and a reminder of good practices. Solutions are well written and the concepts introduced in a step-by-step manner. I think this is a well-guided course and certainly better for many people compared to a tutorial.
The Tableau part was my least favourite. I do have good skills in excel. That is enough to get around with Tableau and could do the project without having to look at the lectures at all. I wish the project for Tableau would have been a challenge at all.
However, the SQL part was awesome. There are additional materials that challenge you through quite complex and nested queries ('SQL Mania') and it is here, where I gained most from this Nanodegree.

So here I am sitting on my Laptop at the same place from where i satrted my udacity Journey.
But a lot has changed between that time and now.
I will try to summarise my whole story in few point by telling my life events before and after getting graduated from udacity full-stack web developer course.
Before Starting Udacity Course:
- It was October 2017 and I was in my 3rd year of my B.E grad and Did Multiple Courses related to web developement multiple times still have no clue how exactly web developer's works.
- Got rejected from atleast 3-4 company for not answering simple conceptual web questions
- No idea of How to Use Git or Github
- Studied computer Networking in my college but still had no clue, how exactly that works
- No Idea how to contribute in open source.
- I always have to rewatch the courses video that I did in order to revise(not knowing how to get help from documentation)
- Never had confidence that i can work on some new framework unless i have done any course on that for atleast 2 - 3 month
- Never had any experience of inerview specifically for web developer as a fresher
After Starting Udacity Course:
- I was the the only fresher in my batch who gave KT to People who are senior to me in the both the organisation that i have worked.
- Withing a year that i have graduated, I have a total of 4 offer letters in hand. and got the oppurtunity to work in two company one of which is a multinational company
- I have around 100 repository in github.
- Got my first offer letter in an MNC for explaining how web works from front to back
- More than 40 open source contribution
- Now i don't need to watch videos if a new framework is thrown at me in work with the knowledge of how to use documentation that i learnt from udacity
- Never had confidence that i can work on some new framework unless i have done any course on that Now i start working on same day or next day if a new framework is thrown at me
- Got the oppurtunity to attend real interview for web development while i was doing the course itself which helped me a lot when i started giving interviews after i finished as i knew what are the usual questions that are asked in web develpment interviews
So this is my real life story how udacity changed my life and transformed me from 0 to Hero

Best money I've ever spent in my life! This course is a great place where to start from if you want to be a front end developer or you are one already but looking to improve your skills. I was a self taught front end developer and doing this course shone so much light on every foundamental concept of FED. I've gained so much more confidence, my work quality has improved noticibly and I smashed job interviews! I honestly recommend this course to everyone interested in this sector. Even though it's slightly expensive it's a great value for the money and I didn't regret investing on it :) -

The course was really helpfull and I've learned a lot, although it would've been better if it has an Arabic section in the writing chapter, because my audience are Arabic people and that would've been a good practice.
The instructor was amazing and he was very helpfull and intractive.
The overall experience and the platform it self is really amazing and user friendly .

Learning has never been so open, as it is now and with the ever increasing wave of technology sweeping the shores of this tech savvy world, MOOCs (massive open online courses) have become one of the best ways to get access to top notch education at the time and pace of one’s own convenience.
For me learning the nuances of front end web development with Udacity’s Front End Nanodegree Program was indeed a delightful and career changing experience. I come from a mechanical engineering discipline with a humble background in computer science and took the program alongside my job. The Nanodegree Programs are crafted and designed such that every individual who is willing to learn and grow, can take advantage of these career advancing educational platforms.I got my first web development job when I was halfway through the program, which was quite an achievement.
Full marks to Udacity forums and coaches for promptly and patiently answering my silliest of the queries. I would not say that the road to graduation is easy, especially if you are a working professional. It requires some grit and dedication on part of the student to stick with the program until the end. My advice to the incoming Nanodegree students would be to make the fullest use of the discussion forums and one-to-one appointments with the udacity coaches . It is the best way to get going when you get stuck and believe me you will get stuck. It is part and parcel of a new learning curve. Also make sure that you give honest and sincere attempts to the meticulously prepared quizzes in between the lectures. They will eventually make your life easy when you attempt projects at the end of the courses. I personally feel that if we actually intend to learn from an online course we need to get our hands dirty.Listening to lectures over the internet is great, but to manufacture professional skills out of the time and patience we have given to these lessons, we better ensure we make the learning from those lessons practical. This is what nanodegree does best.It makes sure we implement what we learn in form of project submissions and review feedback on the projects. Trust me projects are where the actual learning happens. They make sure we know what we think we know.
Thank-you Udacity for the wonderful educational experience. I currently work as a senior frontend engineer at Porter.in, India. Porter is logictic startup operating across 7+ cities in Indian and is a one stop logistic solution for all your daily needs

Udacity is doing a phenomenal role in providing quality content from Tech Giants, making its students Industry Ready. The course curriculum, video contents are structured to make the students conformable with what they are learning and also make them upskill by working projects. The mentoring service is also very good where we get one-on-one mentorship, that too making these service available 24x7 since the mentors are from across the globe. The course contents are designed for everyone so that even an absolute beginner can learn easily. There are many courses that are specially designed for the beginner so that they get the concepts cleared from scratch.
I am Google India Scholar, pursued Android Developer Nanodegree. I had a very good mentorship where I will get my queries clarified within minutes, still, I could remember that the maximum time taken to reply was about 30 minutes. Being part of Udacity was not only this, but the community we had was very great. We had loads of interaction, discussions, and fun. The cool part was I made friends from all over India Just by being part of this community. I also a Python Foundation Nanodegree Graduate. Now I am very confident in working with Android and also very comfortable learning new stuff on my own.
Udacity is the must go online course for me, to make myself Industry ready! -

I have found the nanodegree to be highly helpful! I have finished the Basic Android Nanodegree and now going for Full Stack Developer. The video tutorials are split into sections and every section is compulsory for learning perspective. At the end of the section there is an assignment which challenges you to think and sometimes also do further research on the topic. The feedback on these assignments are excellent. It is just like the feedback given by the professors at the University. There is a mentor which is been allotted to all Who is there to guide and assist you at any stage. I would highly recommend doing the Nanodegrees. -

While the course was able to sufficiently cover a range of lessons and provided what I needed to start with C++, it was obviously the first iteration of the course. I spent several weeks trying to get an environment that would compile my first project:
- Attempt #1: Tried using their online Environment. Both the Terminal and GUI environment had the wrong versions of dependencies and refused to compile my project. Because these environments would reset frequently, the online Environment was rendered useless, and I did not use it for the rest of the course.
- Attempt #2: Tried following their instructions to get dependencies and compiler setup for Windows. These instructions were very poor and involved very meticulous builds of each dependency. I could not get this to work, and with some research, I found none of the other students were using a Windows setup for compilation.
- Attempt #3: After looking into what other students were using, I finally got a Ubuntu (Linux) Virtual Machine setup on my Windows laptop, this worked, and was what I used for all projects.
Many other students had the same problems above. I stuck through the course since I needed to learn the content. Other than this specific set of problems, however, the course was satisfactory and I was allowed extended time to complete my Final Project.

I started my development career at Udacity and took a bunch of courses they have, from intro to programming to React development, going through data visualization and Html canvas, and I must say it was a blast, the course materials are very thorough and the instructors are nice and knowledgeable, but the most important for me were the mentors and reviewers which I feel are the greatest asset Udacity has!

The program is most illuminating and very benificial to someone who has some of the programming concepts. It guides the students step by step in a project based manner to consolidate their newly attained knowledge from the lessons presented by Udacity. I started working as a Backend Developer a couple of months after I took the degree and delivered the project I was working on perfectly, thanks to Udacitys lessons. I surely have reviewed some of the lessons whilst I was working as well. Not to mention how helpful the mentor assigned to me was and the added feature of the Student Hub that connects students of the same nanodegree together in a forum-like widget on the website which is really helpful, insightful and resourceful.
A little downside is that maybe some of the stuff at the curriculum may seem a bit outdated. Moreover, most companies and startups (as far as Web Development is concerned) prefer using JavaScript as their frontend and backend programming language. In Udacity's program, Python is used. It's not really much of a downside though, because you get the same concepts to work with, only the syntax and flow may change a little bit, but I would personally love if there was an extra backend JavaScript section in the program.

The Android Developer Nanodegree program empowered me with the necessary skills I need as an Android developer. As someone who was just getting into tech, I found the program really useful as it helped me get comfortable with learning a lot of new things.
The instructors were really helpful, taking out time to explain concepts, and giving adequate guidance. The course content is one I would describe as very rich, and it is also well organised. With quizzes and projects, I was able to put the lessons into practice, and I knew I was making progress. There were times I got frustrated, but the mentors, and fellow students in the student hub helped in such situations.
I would always recommend Udacity for anyone who needs to learn software development, because of the reasons I stated above, and most especially because Udacity is particular about following best practices.

The course was very introductional. If you want to learn more about Digital Marketing and know what are the main tools ans strategies, that's the right course. But if you are a digital marketing professional and want to increase your abilities, this course is not the best optional. Therefore, the help assistance of the Udacity is perfect. There's a community with studants and experts that help you all the time, and you can also help them. The best is the pratical projects. You really put your skills in practice and can use this as a portfolio later. -

Udacity is probably the second learning platform I stumbled upon after FreeCodeCamp and it changed learning for me forever. I have completed thoroughly, went halfway through, eighty percent completion..etc with a lot of free courses as per my needs in the industry. Be it learning sql or unix or simple python, while trying to shift gears from Manual to Automation testing, Udacity was always there with all the resources. Impressed with all its gifts of learning, I tried a bold step and invested in the Machine Learning Beginner course, completed it and was never more confident. It has been an awesome experience and a greater learning opportunity. I have accessed it on office computer, personal laptop and even sometimes on my mobile while trying to fall asleep just to watch the remaining lectures of any course that I may have signed up for earlier. The learning is still incomplete and the lessons and courses are still signed up for regularly. Hope to continue this journey and be a lifelong learner with Udacity. Best Regards. -

AI for Trading review

I loved the program. The first 3 projects were very basic, but everything after project 4 was great. You get introduced to alpha research, portfolio optimization and backtesting. In some of the projects you use Zipline, Quantopian's open source library.
While of course, it's not expected for them to provide trading strategies to you, the applications of AI to trading seem relevant. You use neural networks, NLP, and random forests, among other models, in ways that are appliable to real trading research.
Most of the instructors from Udacity do a very good job explaining the courses concepts, both theory and programming. The first 3 projects touch some subjects very briefly and without much depth, which was a bit disappointing, but understandable because of the breath of knowledge required for Quantitative Trading. The pace after project 4 picks up considerably though, and you get a challenging sequence with many subjects and approaches that were new for me, as well as suggestions to deepen your knowledge.
The instructors they brought from the industry were excellent too.

Poor quality courses, great chatbot

I spent two months doing udacity courses. Their free front end courses are pretty ok (Intro to HTML and CSS, Version Control with GIT, Shell Workhop, also intro to JavaScript). Once I began backend programs the quality took a nosedive. The free Intro to Backend class is incredibly dated and seems to have recieved only occasional bandaid attention over the last ten years (still using python 2.7). Their chatbot was super helpful in answering questions to figure out just how ot of date the course was. Also, exceedingly helpful on filling out details not covered in courses.
For paid content I only took the Full Stack Web Developer nanodegree program. Minor bug were frequent: most multiple choice quizes do not accept the correct answers (though there are links to test walkthroughs to review your own test), ran into some notes left inside course material for the udacity dev team. Most of all the course had been edited and reorganized so that instead of working with a program you've previously built and are familiar with to learn new material, you would actually work with an unfamiliar program that you have to cobble together without context by pausing videos at key moments to copy code. Also some sections of the course are referenced that nolonger exist (which I know becasue the chatbot told me, the chatbot is very helpful).
All in all, it's a gamble between getting a 4/5 class or a 2/5 class that's just very poorly maintained.
Also poor customer service. After over a dozen bug reports I asked for a refund for the month that I was just a few days into due to all of the issues. Turns out they recieve any of the feedback via the "Give Page Feedback" form, and extended my access to the course i didn't want as a response. -

Really bad experience with the mentor and customer supports. Whenever I hit a wall along my learning path, I never really had the support I was expecting from mentors. It blocked me several times when after having heard from a mentor that they would investigate and come back I would never hear from them. I have contacted the customer support twice about this particular problem and they said my case was reviewed again by the mentoring team. But again I never had a reply!
Given that the price is per month this makes this extremely frustrating. I would really recommend to stay away from Udacity nanodegrees for that reason alone. -
