Looking at the amazing application on the web I always wanted to create such an application on my own. In 2018 I got an opportunity to learn web development from this Front End Web Developer Nanodegree Udacity as a part of the Google India reskilling program. I got the full scholarship and got enrolled in this nanodegree. From that day the trajectory of my life has changed. I learned web development from the best instructors who are already working in big companies like Google. I also got my personal mentor who helped me along my learning journey and made my experience great. I could take help anytime I wanted and ask any questions for him. Udacity also has its career service where they actually reviewed my LinkedIn and Github profile and helped me showcase my skills better. I interacted with a lot of students on slack and learned how to grow together. I created amazing projects and also work on some open-source projects. My learning experience was so amazing that I was able to get an internship in the 2nd year of my college and now I am working in a Startup (remote role) while still studying in college. In fact, I also got a chance to apply for Udacity mentorship position and guess what, I am just a mentor also. I'm thankful to Udacity that you gave me such a nice Foundation and helped me shape my career. -

Career-Shift Through Udacity Data Analyst Nanodegree

Hello!
I am a 25 years old Civil Engineering Graduate, I worked for a little more than a year and I did not like my job at the time, and I was applying for a Scholarship launched with a partnership with Udacity and it was the first time I ever heard of the Data Analyst, Data Science or the Data Domain in general, so I looked up the field and I was hooked immediately, I was a bit into programming when I was doing my bachelors in Civil Engineering so I did not find a lot of a hard time learning Python, which is a part of the Data Analyst Nanodegree, although Python was absolutely new to me and I learned it all as a part of the Nanodegree since you don't really need any perquisites!
The program overall was great, the content is amazingly dense and concise, the instructors are really friendly so you do not get bored from hours of lectures and exercises. In addition, needing to complete 4 full projects from A to Z really gives you confidence in your skills and makes you prepare something you can show to your employer!
As for my future plans, I still need to improve my Machine Learning and Deep Learning skills in order to take a full grasp of the Data Science field curriculum wise, so I am currently a part of the Bertelsmann Tech Scholarship Phase 1 in the AI (Deep Learning) Track, as for the Machine Learning part of the endeavor, Udacity has a free course on Spark to actually apply Machine Learning of Big Data!
I really do recommend Udacity if you are planning a career shift or developing your skills in general.
By the way, I have an interview with an employer this Monday for a BI/Data Science Position, which me luck! and good luck to you all in your future endeavors!

I got a fully-funded scholarship at Udacity for the Front End Web Developer Nanodegree program through Google India Scholarships. This program begins with the basics of Web Development to very advanced modern-day applications. Every part of the course is accompanied by projects or at least quizzes, that way we can revise what we had learned and also the videos are not too long which makes it more interesting and less distracting. Each section of the program requires that we submit a project of our own and it is reviewed by moderators. The projects in the nanodegree program are not only engaging but also focusing on even minor things. This way one can be industry-ready. I joined for an internship post this program where my managers where awed by my skills. I'm a freelance front end developer now and I'm grateful that I took up this program at Udacity.

I have tried out several MOOCs for several technology related courses. What makes Udacity stand apart are as follows: 1. Projects and assignments which are relevant to the current industry based trends. In other words, the projects are in line with what you would work on after joining a company. 2. Excellent to the point course materials, videos, lectures and exercises. Apart from being simple and easy to understand, you will grab the core concepts and at the same time go straight to things that you will need in order to work on a real world problem. 3. Very good alumni as well as job assistance support. -

"You’ll learn how to create a digital user experience that is ready to be handed off for development. You’ll start by building familiarity and fluency with design research fundamentals to identify the user and the solutions they need. You’ll then synthesize your research, and use design sprints to take an idea from concept to low-fidelity prototype. Finally, you’ll learn how to turn your low-fidelity prototype into a high-fidelity design, and improve its performance based on data. Along the way, you’ll complete projects that can be incorporated into a UX portfolio at the end of the program in order to showcase your capabilities to future employers."

I have competed udacity's Full-Stack Web developer Nanodegree and during my interview to my current company I was asked most of the questions that were thoroughly explained in this course. Needless to say it is mostly because of this course and its content I am currently developing mobile applications for our clients and could launch myself into a IT world. The course was a perfect match for someone with little to no IT skills and it was all around a all-you-need starting pack for entering the programming world.

Android Basics from Udacity is a great course. Concepts included are explained well. It's made in collaboration with Google, and their tutors are charismatic. There is also a vivid community gathered around this course. People there are very helpful. But in my opinion the best part are projects that you are going to make during this course. They are getting progressively more difficult, but also rewarding. Each is reviewed individually, and those reviews are what really pushes you in your path of becoming a great developer. -

There are several online learning platforms available for data analytics learning. i have personally been using some of them for a long time now. However, Udacity have been a unique platform among all of those. It's project based learning and career support has made it one of the most valuable learning platforms for different tech skills like UX design, web development, data science, artificial intelligence etc. It's tremendous mentor support is another important thing which not only help students to complete their nanodegree successfully but also become a mentor after successful completion. We all know, teaching is a great way to implement our learnings so in this sense it is a huge advantage for the nanodegree graduates. Besides, Udacity have some learning partners like Amazon, Bertelsmann, Mode, Facebook, Google who sometimes offers scholarships which brings another dimension in online learning. I was a part of such scholarship and can tell how it was so vital in my learning. The vibrant slack groups, facebook groups, video chats made our learnings even more engaging.

I joined Android Developer Nanodegree while in college and it was one of the best decisions since it helped me to gain the real-world exposure of building Android apps that can scale for millions of users. There are many online boot camps but I didn't found anywhere the level of professionalism that Udacity provides.
Currently, I am working as Software Engineer (Android/iOS) in Aptener Mechatronics (CES 2020 Startup Innovation Award Winner) and Udacity made it possible for a college student like me who didn't have the idea of "What Android is" to become an expert in Android.

While I was preparing to switch my career path into the software engineering field, I took some JavaScript courses. I easily grasped the JS syntax and constructs, but those courses were not able to teach me how to think like a programmer. However, after I enrolled for the Nanodegree program, I understood the approaches I need to break complex problems down to programmable chunks.
I appreciate the efforts Udacity's team put into making the course materials beginner-friendly and rich. Thank you Udacity for the impact you have had in my career. -

Udacity's deep reinforcement learning course nicely blend intuition, theory and practicals of reinforcement learning.
The intuition that governs reinforcement learning can prove difficult to comprehend, but this course simplifies it and makes learning smooth.
Also, the course starts from the very beginning methods of solving reinforcement learning problems and gradually advances to the new methods of solution used today.

If you want to reach a place in your life and you are confused about where to go then Udacity provides the path in reaching the destination.
Before I start talking about the experience of graduating from Udacity, I would like to thank the Udacity team for the smooth enrollment process, answering my queries on time, and my mentors and of course the trainer, thanks a lot.
Compared to other online platforms, I would say, the Udacity is the best in the market right now with all the latest content and technologies with frequent updates to the course content as per the market needs.
The course curriculum is divided into modular sections so that it would be easy for the students to progress the course in a smoother way. If you allocate a particular amount of time for each section and complete the challenges, then you are on track. The best thing about Udacity is it understands its users, everybody might not get time every week to complete the deadlines, so it provides you with grace time where we can extend the deadline and complete the weekly challenges.
Udacity doesn't only provide theoretical experience but also practical experience so that it will help when you work in real-time. Mentors are available all the time and I would say they are the experts in the subject and provide you a week to week feedbacks on your performance, which helps you to improve your coding skills.
They also help you in preparing for the interviews, enhance your Github account, resume. If I continue to write, this space wouldn't be sufficient.

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Abdel Aziz MFOSSA and I am a web developer from Cameroon. I finished my diploma in computer security in June 2019 and a year before finishing my diploma, I discovered that my passion was actually in everything related to data, and my project being the creation of a web platform to map the areas most at risk in the city of Yaoundé, to facilitate the rental of houses by parents wanting to raise their children in good conditions. In IT Security, we are often called upon to analyze huge amounts of data coming from machines in order to determine the most vulnerable ones. So, I learned data analysis with Excel on my own via YouTube and Udemy videos. But Excel being limited, after a few months (in September 2019), I decided to subscribe to the scholarship program of the Egyptian ministry on the course "Programming for Data Science with Python" and I was selected. I received my diploma from Udacity this December and I am very happy with the new knowledge and skills that I have acquired because, the training program is focused on concrete projects to be submitted, which are very rewarding. Regarding my strengths now, I can say that I have taken a step forward. And that allowed me to continue working on my project. Thanks to Udacity.

Great nano degree program with Udacity. It teaches you all the basics of python and more intermediate programming skills to apply to your machine learning project. The projects are made to help you apply your skills to a real project that you can showcase in your next job interview. The support you get from Udacity is second to none and I . had a great experience getting the help I needed for my assignments/projects. All the learning portion is self paced so it takes typically 3-5 months to complete the program depending how fast you work through the lessons. Towards the end of the program you can choose to have a Udacity Reviewer help you with your resume/github/linkedIn accounts to help you succed in your post Nanodegree career journey. You also get a career phone call with a career counselor for a personal career counseling. It's a great program and I also attended a coding bootcamp and I would say that Udacity is a better coding program than the coding bootcamp I went to even though it's completely online, it's definitely worth every dollar I spent.

Udacity's Android Developer Nanodegre is a great set of courses where you improve your skills from a basic intermediate level to an advanced intermediate level. Contents are relevant and lessons are clear and well explained.
This program includes projects to put into practice the concepts and skills learned. Each of these projects is assessed by a reviewer and must pass a rubric in order to be approved.
Udacity programs also include access to a chat where you can interact with mentors, people who can guide you and answer your questions. This is especially useful while completing the projects. There's also a career guidance section where you can learn some tips about how to present your CV, github portfolio, elevator pitch, among other topics.
While I was studying this program, I was working as a customer service representative, however, after I completed my studies, I organized my CV and got my first job as Android Developer. I'm really happy with the results.

Udacity Deep Learning, fun projects but not very challenging. No, I'm not being cocky

Overall, I was happy with what I learned at Udacity Deep Learning course. The curriculum and the instructors were great.
Now, about the "not challenging enough" part. I have to say, the projects are fun, close to reality, and helpful. However, close to the end of the program, some projects have a lot of copy and paste solution from the lessons. For example, in the last project, which is deploying a deep learning model on Amazon Sage Maker, I found myself doing a lot of copying code from the lessons.
Some might say I should not copy the code, instead, I should type it down. Well, these are configuration lines for deployment. Nobody will try to remember them, that's impractical.
Make no mistake, I love the program, that's why I gave it 5/5 stars. Furthermore, I would love the program to improve even more!

Is Udacity’s AI nanodegree worth it for an experienced coder?

If you're an experienced coder and are curious about taking Udacity's AI nanodegree, there were five things that helped me make a decision.
I wish future me would have sent me this info back when I was trying to decide. I could have saved lots of time and fear of wasting my money.
Well, future me is here now. I wrote this review in hopes it will help you make your decision to go forward with the Udacity AI nanodegree or not.
[ to see the entire post goto [http://www.thedevpreneur.com/2017/11/26/udacity-ai-nano-degree-review-coders/]
1) Self learning AI is not working for you
How the Udacity AI nanodegree is better than self learning:
- Provided a clear definition of "artificial Intelligence" beyond the trivial wikipedia version
- A structured list or map of all the areas of AI and how they relate.
- Created clarity on how to clarify problems to identify how to solve them with our without AI.
- Because I had to drop big $$$, I got a sense of urgency and co
- mmitment. This drove me to carve out time in my week and get it done.
- Focused in on the key areas of AI. There is way too much information out there, I got guidance on whats hot and making the biggest impacts in the field of AI.
As trivial as these points seemed, the nanodegree gave me a new perspective. It provided me understanding beyond what I could price together on my own. It also gave me focus and forced me to commit to learning in a finite time frame.
2) You hate reading white papers
Here are some ways Udacity structured the information:
- Simple animated illustrations for complex topics. This was one of the best parts of the content.
- Ease in beginners to reading white papers and only require some reading to complete some projects.
- Introductory lessons on math notations and core CS concepts needed to understand AI white papers.
- The instructor team acknowledged that white papers are currently the best source for latest on AI advancements. The cool thing is that material only referenced white papers as additional reading in most lessons.
Bottom line the Udacity Material is way more beginner friendly than anything I have come across for free on the web .
3) You keep looking for the AI hello world example
How Udacity was not too academic:
- Although the general structure was still academically oriented and bottom up, they broke theory up into small consumable pieces.
- Lessons were supplemented with practical examples to reinforce what was taught.
- Many of the examples provided, were based on real problems being solved in industry.
The AI nanodegree still feels academic in nature but had enough practical examples to keep me interested.
4) You have a hard time justifying the price
How Udacity was more than an online course:
- The team at Udacity will assign a personal mentor to give you 1 on 1 answers and guidance.
- A career prep supplement with resume writing and networking tips and best practices.
- Very active Slack community covering industry news, events, project discussion and contests.
- Multiple required projects with code reviews and automated tests with scoring rubrics.
- Life time access to all content with future updates.
Even with all these add-ons, the cost felt a little on the higher end of what I'm comfortable with. Add-ons like the career advice is more targeted to junior candidates. On the other hand, the 1 on 1 mentor was very valuable and something you don't get with typical online courses.
5) You don't feel you meet the prerequisites
The prerequisites your really need before you take the Udacity AI nanodegree:
- Python basics with focus on looping, recursion and data structures
- Using jupyter notebooks with python
- Condition and non-conditional probability basics.
- Some calculus with focus on derivatives if you really want to get into the theory.
- Very basic linear algebra with focus on matrics multiplication.
The area that slowed me down the most was not the math. The Ai nanodegree covered most of the math in refreshers and intros. I did struggle with figuring out efficient way to manipulate data using python and data libraries like numpy.
Don't get intimidated by the math prerequisites. If you're a good coder you shouldn't have too much difficulty getting through it.
I still would highly recommend doing as much pre learning in all the math areas mentioned. If you want to get the most for your $$$, you need to understand the theory and that requires understanding the math.
So was it worth it?
I had a positive experience with the AI nano-degree and would recommend it to any developer willing to drop the $$$. Go for it if you're looking for the fastest way to learn a whole boat load of AI in a relatively short time. Just like any paid education, you get out of it what you put in. So make sure you prep well and slice out enough time in your week to maximize your learning.

I've finished the Frontend Developer Nanodegree in August 2018, thanks to a scholarship provided by Google. I've never coded in my life before, but the course gave me all the basic tools needed to understand and learn more about web development. In other words, they did a great job teaching me how to ride a nice bike :)
The mentorship and the support provided by Udacity is overall very good. I've found extremely useful the project reviews, where a real developer was reviewing my code, providing extremely useful feedback. All the projects are then showed in your GitHub account, and this means that you can use them as a personal portfolio.
After the end of the course, I've also decided to use their "career support". It consists of quite many projects, whose goal is to improve your CV, your LinkedIn profile and to learn how to behave during a technical interview.
In November 2018 (2 months after the "graduation"), I've received my first traineeship offer as a frontend developer and today I'm a happy junior developer.
I can only warmly recommend this course cause it re-pays itself after few months ;) -
