I previously worked as a Digital Advertising Specialist for a media company in Washington DC. This is where I was first introduced to the coding world. I have advanced experience in HTML & CSS but, I knew I had only dipped my toes in the water. This was the moment I knew I wanted to pursue a career in programming (web developer/web design/frontend developer). I can say that the SheCodes Beginner Workshop taught me a lot. I now have a solid understanding of HTML, CSS & JavaScript. I’m excited to further my knowledge by taking the SheCodes Plus & React courses. I attended the 3 week workshop and learned basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This course is great for beginners with no former knowledge of coding. Course is presented well by quite short video lessons, and I really appreciated that almost after every lesson there was a challenge to be completed to test if I understood everything before moving on. 

Another strong feature of this course is access to Slack, where you can communicate with teachers and fellow students, so whenever you get stuck, there is support available. Also seeing all the other students working hard and putting effort into their projects motivated me to do my best in the course.

I will be joining more advanced workshop at she codes because I was very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to everyone.

I never thought I would ever take a coding course, but I am extremely glad that I did, especially one from SheCodes. At first, I was a bit overwhelmed by the idea of learning how to code. However, Matt Delac’s unique way of teaching this male-dominated field took that feeling away immediately. His course is well-organised and the topics are explained thoroughly. I was able to absorb the basics of coding (HTML/CSS and JavaScript) in such a short period of time, and the workshop also paved a new path for me. I was initially hesitant to sign up for a bootcamp because I had enrolled in one to hone my skills, but there was very little help with questions and the staff was hard to contact and rude. I felt like they wanted to enroll students for money and did not care about student’s success, so I withdrew. and vowed never again to try a bootcamp. But then I saw so many comments about what a great community SheCodes was and some of the projects online. The name also got my attention being that it is for women, so, I signed up for the Express course (which was awesome). It gave me good insight and a feel for what's to come, so I had an idea of what my experience would be like. When I enrolled, it far exceeded my expectations! SheCodes, is not a typical "bootcamp." Even though the classes are online, it feels like a school that cares about its student body. Matt provides really detailed instruction that is really easy to code along, understand and retain. He also suggests that students keep practicing and reviewing the material so that we can get the material down pat. He also offers tips that help students truly develop into confident professionals - which is major! I am so excited to finally LEARN! I feel confident in what I am learning, and it makes me work harder and try new things - which Matt encourages. SheCodes brought my career aspirations back to life and I am so very grateful! I am continuing with the SheCodes Plus (enrolled now) and React courses (next). SheCodes that good! I never imagined that I can code! This course was well explained by Matt Delac, very interesting and easy to understand. The rest of the team is always ready to help you, as well!

I loved SheCodes! I had a previous basic experience with HTML, but I've never done anything with JavaScript before and nonetheless I found the course very clear and easy to follow.

I also really liked that Matt was explaining enough to let me learn new stuff and complete the assignments, but still giving inputs about other options and possibilities that triggered my curiosity and made me explore and try on my own.

I was a total beginner when I started this course - I never did anything related to coding. Matt was explaining everything really clearly and I always had access to the materials to go back to and refresh the info. Also, I greatly appreciate the help on Slack - always got replies quickly and everyone is so nice. It feels great to be a part of this community and also to learn new skills. It was so easy to learn with SheCodes that I really want to learn more and more. It has definitely been a great first experience with coding. It's incredible how much I've learned in such a short time. Matt is a great instructor, I really could understand the logic of coding. Every time I finished an exercise module, I was looking forward to learning more. The support time is super and they review your weekly exercise!
I have gotten a lot out of my SheCodes workshop.  It is definitely a workshop for anyone interested in grasping the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and Java.

SheCodes has definitely been a great first experience with coding. It's incredible how much I've learned in such short of time. It's been easy to keep up with the exercises and homework every week, but it's also been challenging. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I had so much fun it's only a matter of time that I keep improving. I've really enjoyed the program, I'd fully recommend it! A great workshop, lets you work at your own pace if you're having to work around your life to finish it. Matt explains everything well and provides a lot of external sources to look at to do more research. I'd consider changing my career to coding in the future if my life leads me there, for now it's good to have the basic knowledge! Read less
