SheCodes is a unique, well-curated coding workshop/boot camp that teaches coding skills to busy women by offering hands-on, self-paced coding workshops online. And I’m so glad I stumbled upon their ad and researched what they offer sooner than later. I didn’t hesitate to sign up right away and decided to take on SheCodes Plus React because of the great discounted rate at the time. So far, it’s been a tremendous eye-opening learning experience! I was never interested in coding and was scared I would never understand it, but SheCodes Basics (Introduction to Coding) changed my mind, and now I'm hooked.
The workshops are carefully structured, and the videos aren’t too long or overwhelming, which is a plus for total beginners. Also, the lesson challenges are fun and excellent hands-on experience to practice and test your code skills as you learn. The slack community is essential as it keeps you up to date with everyone and everything from new students, graduates, code errors/solutions, live tech support and most importantly, connect you with women coders worldwide. The workshop projects and certificates are rewarding and will help you build your developer portfolio to showcase to potential employers. My advice for future students - is don't let the challenges overcome you because what’s life without challenges - or feel defeated if your code is imperfect as there is no one-size-fits-all in the world of code. I have been teaching myself to code for a while now, but I finally decided to join SheCodes after weeks of comparing many bootcamps and workshops. I found SheCodes to be very user friendly and having great instructional methods by Matt-the founder and instructor.
Also, the Slack team is great in support and encouraging motivation building a community of female coders and software developers. Encouraging women to go into tech and breaking gender inequality is something I am highly passionate about, so the mission and goals of SheCodes was appealing to me.
I highly recommend SheCodes. My learning increased 10x thanks to the wonderful lessons and assignments. The projects were fun and engaging being apply to apply new knowledge and skills. I am so excited to continue onto SheCodes Plus React now. SheCodes is helping my passion and dreams come true, and I encourage anyone and everyone to check it out! I enjoyed participating in the SheCodes Basics workshop. Before signing up for the SheCodes Basics+Pro+React workshop package I looked around at a lot of different virtual learning options and was more drawn to the overall look and feel of SheCodes. I like that it seems approachable. That may feel small to someone more experienced, but for me it made all the difference. The lessons are broken down into easily digestible subsections, are very concise, and build upon the prior lesson so one gains a cumulative skillset without even acknowledging it. Additionally, Matt is easy to listen to and unintentionally funny. Having open access to the SheCodes slack channels is also an amazing learning tool. It's easy to get caught up and bogged down in the minutiae of whatever one may be building/debugging. Reading thru the slack and testing other people's code can help one to look at their own project differently with new eyes. I'm honestly really proud of what I made for this final project in the Basics workshop using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. -

I have always been interested in learning to code, however I never thought it was something I could do because I don't have a masters in computer science. Taking the SheCodes course has helped me learn and understand the basics of coding.
I was scrolling through Instagram one day, and came across SheCodes 1 hour intro to coding, as soon as I finished the free intro I signed up for the basics course just to see if I would like it. Half way through the basics course, I decided I wanted to learn more, so I signed up for the new pro course.
It's really nice having the SheCodes slack community to help when you get stuck, or frustrated. It also helped keep me motivated. I love that there are deadlines, and homework. The structure works for someone like me, it helped me stay focused and able to create a schedule that I looked forward to each day. if this was a "do at your own pace," it wouldn't work for me because. I could always find an excuse to do it later. -

“ If you are student in the field and like to boost your studies , maybe have few projects done to showcase on the way and have certifications, use your money wisely and choose SheCodes basic, +, responsive, react ..... Lessons, extra materials and all content and resources are easy on hand and the platform is clearest I have ever seen. Instructor Matt clears everything the way its easy to continue with challenges. They review all your tasks and you will get your hands dirty eventually when things get harder. SheCodes Basic was an overall great experience! I had no prior knowledge of coding whatsoever. However, Matt made it easy to understand and process what he was asking of you to do. Highly recommend this course to anyone that is interested in learning to code! -

I tried SheCodes Basics with no knowlegde about coding and it was a real discovery.
As I am working full time it is not easy to find courses that match my schedule and Shecodes is perfect for that. You can learn at your own rythm, there is always someone to help you and the courses are easely understandable for newbies.

I finished a SheCodes Basics course just to see if coding was what I like. It probably took me about 20 hours to complete and I essentially did it over an extended weekend.
I really liked the project learning based aspect, and that I had the confidence after the course to know what to do from the ground up for some basic functions. The challenges were great and the videos were helpful and informative.
The only thing I have noticed since my camp is that while it taught you what to do, sometimes it was lacking on vocabulary, alternative methods, or reasoning behind things. However, it was just the basics course and for the price, it was great. They may go into that in their other programs.
Also, I really liked their mission to teach women in developing countries how to code! -

This course was amazing. I had previously tried to learn some programming languages but most information didn't stick. Throughout this workshop, I gained more confidence while having fun with the tasks. The course is very well-structured with tutorials that are very easy to understand, followed by homework that helps solidify this theory and put it into practice. By the end of it, I feel like I've acquired useful new skills that I can't wait to improve on. -

I enrolled in the Basic SheCode course as one of the first steps in my transition from financier to IT. The course turned out to be another confirmation that expanding knowledge in this direction is a good decision. The course was very interesting. Short videos ending with tasks allow me to see rapid learning progress, even for first-time „web developers :)”. However, for me, the greatest added value was learning to search the Internet for additional information about HTML, CSS, or Javascript. After many years working with accounting, and increasingly becoming demotivated to continue, it was time to look for something new. The trigger to change was not easy and for a long time I kept looking at various career alternatives. Computers were always to me a source of information and entertainment, never a career option. I came across SheCodes through an add on Facebook. After researching the course and the inspiring posts made by former students, I decided to take the plunge and go all-in with the Pro program. Learning how to code with SheCodes was a great experience.
I took the SheCodes Basic Workshop and, even if I am far from being a coder or a programmer, I now understand how coding works and can create a basic website.
