SheCodes provided a great, easy but comprehensive, introduction into web development and several different programming languages. The lessons were very well-planned, in a way that was inclusive to people from different backgrounds and with varying levels of expertise. It was interesting to hear a testimonial from a woman in the field and get personal insights from someone in web development.
Ever since participating, I've started working in IT as a Frontend Developer. SheCodes was crucial for getting the job and for my understanding of frontend. I'm very glad I took the course, it proved to be a wonderful (though inexpensive) investment on my education. I highly recommend SheCodes for women looking for an intro to coding! -

I have always been curious about coding and even tried to teach myself a couple of times--but always gave up once I became stuck. I am so glad I found SheCodes, it has helped me feel less intimidated by the world of coding! SheCodes Plus is a really exciting way to further your knowledge on front-end development, it has a well structured learning path, the instructor is a great teacher that motivates you to learn more and more, the lessons are well explained and the exercises are challenging but at the same time this makes completing this course a satisfactory experience. And, if you get stuck there is always support available. I definitely recommend taking this course! -

This course has made learning how to code so fun and exciting. I've always been hesitant on taking coding bootcamps due to lack of time but I absolutely love how this is structured to be for people who are in school or in the workforce full time. Matt explains things in a clear and concise way and the real time assistance via Slack gives me reassurance for whenever I run into issues. I'm looking forward on upgrading to the next workshop! -

This workshop was absolutely awsome! I had so much fun doing it!🤩 For someone who knew 0 about coding, after 3 weeks of learning, I created my very first landing page! “Brilliant! I had been toying with the idea of studying code for a while but I was reluctant as I had no previous experience whatsoever with coding and I had no idea if it would be something I could actually do, or enjoy. I watched the SheCodes Express and decided that I would give it a go. I loved every part of it... There is something really unique and special about coding and seeing one's ideias become reality with a "simple" line of code.
I know what you are thinking... "SIMPLE?? Hummm Hummm...Have you forgotten about "addEventListener" or "function whatIsWrongWithMyCode"???"
No I haven´t! And yes, I will have to admit that it was not that simple all the times...
Therefore I shall rephrase it to "challenging yet adventurous!"
There is something really unique and special about coding and seeing one's ideias become reality with a "challenging yet adventurous" line of code (Indeed, much more accurate!)
But in the end, I really enjoyed this workshop and I can´t wait to learn more about coding.
I highly reccomend it!! :)

As an absolute beginner to coding, I was a bit nervous about starting this course. The videos by teacher Matt are laid down in a carefully thought out step-by-step logic, followed by published resources and individual challenges that help you organize and cement the new knowledge. Once you get started your confidence starts to build up as you see what you are learning transferred into reality, its really gratifying.
Also, a really quality support team available to the students works as an awesome safety blanket. Loved it, recommend it 100%. -

This course was the perfect fit for me! I wanted to learn web development more in-depth, but I needed guidance and some pressure not to procrastinate however, I couldn't spend a lot of money on a coding Bootcamp. The course is very well structured and covers many topics in such a short time, which requires dedication on our part.
Although it was online and we could do it at our own pace, we had the slack chat which helped in feeling part of the class. Matt's English is very good and the classes are spoken at a good pace and you can understand everything very well. Any questions we had we could ask on slack and one of the instructors or even the students would respond briefly. I found it was very helpful this method of asking questions in slack because I would see my colleagues doubts and if I couldn't help them, I would see what the instructors answered and learned a little more. Also when the homework was submitted it appeared on slack and it helped me in keeping my motivation because I didn't want to fall behind. All the people I talked to were very friendly and ready to help.
In our profile, there's a career handbook which aims at helping us find a job with the new skills we have learnt. Thus, I do believe that we get a lot of value for the price we pay.

I participated in a SheCodes weekend workshop, which introduces to basic of coding! If you are interested in start learning coding, I really recommend this program,In special, if you are a woman I strongly recommend this specific workshop with Matt Delac, as he is a great teacher, sharing the knowledge in a very clear, structured and friendly way. Part of the workshop and what actually make it very productive and interesting is that besides the classes themselves with lot of practice and teacher and assistants around to guide you, there is homework both days and a final project – this makes you to put hands-on not just to hear and forget everything the next day!! Save some time for that weekend / following week as you will get so excited trying to improve your coding skills in your project!!Definitely recommended !! -

I attented the SheCodes Weekend Workshop for 3 reasons:
- I wanted to validate whether I enjoyed coding before making a greater commitment in a more time-consuming course;
- I wanted a welcoming environment;
- I wanted a presential course where I could also profit from some networking and alumni experiences since I am new in Lisbon.
And I had it all during this awesome weekend!!
Matt is a GREAT TEACHER, focused and funny at the same time and the learning pace was great, not too slow nor too fast. The ladies group was amazing, diverse backgrounds, ages, nationalities... I felt welcome from the beginning and the fact that we were only women was very important for this 1st contact with coding. Everyone felt confident to make questions, to say "I´m not getting it" without any fear of judgement.
The helpers from organization are former SheCodes participants and it was great learning from their experience and how it was to get their first jobs in Tech.
Unexpected & really appreciated: an overview of most common tech jobs, their main activities and some good tips about the next steps for those who want to dive further into the tech world.

It all started with my restless curiosity ... curiosity about the coding world. After all, what do developers do on those black screens full of color coding? How can they create so many powerful things from a black screen? And so I went looking for a coding initiation workshop. I found SheCodes and its initiation workshop in one weekend. Some of my developer friends validated that SheCodes had amazing workshops and they couldn't be more right! Matt is an engaging speaker who introduces us to the programming world and encourages us to make the most of every minute of that weekend. The pace is mind-blowing but inspirational. The result of those 16 hours is that you can do a number of things that 48 hours ago you didn't even think possible. I loved it and will continue to SheCodes Plus, no doubt about it!

Being a part of the SheCodes weekend workshop was a way to test myself on whether or not i was passionate enough about programming to actually learn to code. I'm very glad i took that bold step because it has cemented my decision to take on the challenge to learn programming languages and given me a new purpose, which is to build a career in tech. It's validated for me that I can do it, and have fun doing it too! I am genuinely excited about learning even more and for the first time in a long time, i'm looking forward to classes. I got to meet a lot of amazing new people and made new friends. I've just done the She Codes on the weekend and loved it. I only went because I'm curious about learning new stuff since I'm happy with my profession (lawyer), but I reallised that I could tottaly work in coding permanently. Matt creates an fun and confortable enviroment to learn. My opinion is that coding it's like learning a new language to express what you want but much much easier than that. Of course it will take work and dedication, but once you learn this new language, I think it woul be just like writing in you mother language.

I found information about the 4-week-workshop that SheCodes offers just by chance while surfing the net.
I decided to give it a try since lately I have become more interested at coding and the price seemed to be affordable (I currently live in The Netherlands and courses and workshops can be really expensive here). I love learning new things and this workshop has been a nice challenge for me, even though I already knew a few little things about coding (mostly HTML).
Through the workshop, you will get a taste of HTML, CSS and a bit of JavaScript, and you will be using VS Code editor. You will have challenges, homework and a final project to prepare.
In case you have any doubt or you need help, you will be able to address the tutor and other collegues through the Slack channel.
This workshop also allowed me to explore my creativity and think about personal future projects. And definitely, it is an opportunity if you consider to change career and want to try if coding will be an option for you. SheCodes allows you to take part in affordable fun workshops.

I attended to SheCodes Live Workshop, so I can only talk about that.
The course itself is instructed nicely, however I believe the curriculum was not very well suited to the amount of money that you pay (at my time it was 99 euros). you are going to have Courses and homeworks for 2 weeks, and the whole third week is dedicated to your final project, which I believe it could be better if they would have some material for the 3rd week too (Matt is going to have live webinar for 4 times in total, once per week).
If you are brand new in coding then yes that is a good way to start. Also the slack-chat environment has a really nice, helpful and friendly atmosphere. BUT for someone who has a tiny little bit of coding experience I wont recommend this course, there are other courses online on edX and Coursera with more challenging homeworks and syllabus. Even online free youtube videos are available that can teach you as same level as this course or even better (for example search for mmtuts on youtube).
Shecodes is at the starting point of its journey though, so most probably they are going to improve themselves and their materials through the time.

I started this course to get a bit more into the magic of coding and see if it could be something that matches with me and my mindset and I really loved it.
The course is very well structured and Matt is really good explaining all the classes. The fact that you can always ask for help on the Slack channel gives you also the strength to follow this path knowing that actually you are not alone and that there is a class that can support you besides Matt.
I've learned things that I never thought I could really enjoy, HTML, CSS and a bit of Javascript, while learning I was saying to myself "Oh my God, this is really great". I suggest to anybody to try it! -

Besides the knowlege, the team is great. From Matt, the tutor, to the girls at the support team, coffee, cookies, wine... They did everything to make us feel welcome and confortable.
There's an online support, homework, chats, everything helps to keep us going on with our codind skills.
