As someone who organically grew into a product manager role at my previous company, I was uncertain about my skills and knowledge and didn't have much PM interviewing experience. The other Product Management I checked out is not focused on getting you the job but rather the academics of being a PM. Product Gym caters to an audience who want to switch into product management or advance their career in Product Management.  Although it is quite expensive, I'd consider it as an investment to advance my career. Product Gym teaches you how to approach interviews differently.  Product Gym will give you the tools to rebrand your resume & cover letter, application strategy, interviewing tactics, case studies & offer negotiations. But keep in mind that you as a candidate will need to relentlessly put in the work to get results. This program is meant for high achievers who have ambitious goals and work ethic to go after them. I spent the majority of last year looking for a new role in Product Management with little success. I was rarely getting callbacks from recruiters, let alone proceeding to Round 2's. I even spent several months learning to code, thinking that my lack of technical background was the culprit. Finally I heard about Product Gym and their emphasis on developing interviewing skills, as opposed to job-specific PM skills. I signed up, finished their branding protocol, then immediately began applying. Within the first week, I had R1 interviews lined up. Within the first month, I actually had to slow down my applications because I was literally getting too many interviews (10+ in a week). I received my first offer ~1.5 months after signing up, which was unthinkable previously. Their system really works. Cody, the co-founder, is especially active in the chat channels and gives a ton of advice despite working as a full-time PM himself. The community is great and I met several folks who gave me specific advice and feedback. Definitely worth the investment.

Points of feedback:
-The system is great but their content could use a refresh. Some of it is incomplete or repurposed from other sources. For the price point, I think they can include even more robust content (e.g. full interview question and answer bank), mock video interviews + feedback, etc. 
-Because the program is remote and asynchronous, you don't feel like you're part of a class/cohort. I understand the challenge as they had to pivot due to Covid but the team should consider developing more community/networking opportunities 
-The live classes, while great, are generally the same content as previous cohorts and there isn't a huge benefit to attending live vs. watching old recordings

Overall, none of this detracts that they have a seriously powerful program and they get results. 5 Stars!

Product Gym has been one of the best decisions I have made. I have been trying endlessly to search for a job but nothing was working. I joined Product Gym in the latter half of October and by Early Feb I have already secured 2 job offers with couple more interviews still left in the pipeline. Had I tried to search for a job on my own I don't think so I would have ever been able to achieve such a success rate. The coaches at Product Gym are very supportive in answering all your queries, They will be there with you throughout the whole Job interview lifecycle.  The program concept is great, the other members in the cohort are like your support system. Our weekly interview practice sessions were very helpful as I could interact with my fellow cohort mates and understand the issues and challenges we were facing and helped each other in the process. It's a budding community of like-minded individuals helping each other get better. They not only helped me with the Job interview process, but they also helped me become a better Product Manager through their classroom sessions. The material and support in this program definitely are helpful not only in getting the PM job, but also learning how to be a PM and succeeding on the job. PG has helped me to land 6 offers in just under 2 months. All the resources and materials provided were very practical. The strategy is straight forward but requires hard work to achieve the results. Simply put, the approach at Product Gym works.  I was a product manager before so I was not transitioning from a different field, but it had been a while since I last interviewed for a job and I was vastly unprepared for the current style of interviews with 5-6 rounds.  It is one set of skills to do the job and another set of skills to interview for the job. PG prepares you for both.  I also was not getting as many interview requests before using the PG method.  The process developed by the PG team was counterintuitive  to me in some aspects and I had to overcome my own resistance to follow it sometimes - but I am glad that I stuck with it.  I got two offers within 4 months at the peak of Covid.  The coaching calls with Oliver were super helpful.    Read less

I was really skeptical at first when I joined, but later on my opinion changed. The coaches were really hands on and the resources provided for job support were top notch. When you think of joining a program/bootcamp, the only thing that matters in the end is getting a job. 

I had joined another bootcamp, but it led to no success in the job market. 

I like Product Gym because their focus in on getting many offers - I love the abundance mindset regardless of what is going out in the world.

While working thru' the PG program, I received many, many interviews and had to start declining some of those! And this was during the pandemic and the holiday season. I have accepted an offer!

If you want to get a job, follow their recommendations. It is like joining a gym. You work on various muscles like interviewing and not just the theory muscles. Read less

Their tips and recommendations felt counter-intuitive to me and go against what I typically see on job hunting recommendations online....and that's likely why their process is so effective. I immediately saw a 5X jump in responses for phone screens after using their resume & cover template. Having gone through all their interviewing topics and product management classes, I feel so prepared, calm, and in control during interviews. It's helped me get to a few final offers (I have never had more than 1 offer to choose from in my entire life). Product Gym was able to help me build confidence when I personally was not very confident myself. I knew I could do the work and responsibilities of a Product Manager, why couldn’t I secure a role? I learned that I had to rethink the job search process. I had to learn about myself and how I was portraying myself. I had to be exposed to the product interviewing world and I had to get the reps in to get better. Product Gym pushes you to get those reps and I started to get results after some time. It was difficult, but I can’t imagine how I’d have been able to secure my first offer without their support. 

There are courses every week that you can attend and the instructors are very knowledgeable and responsive. The only constructive feedback I’d give is to be able to offer more types of classes in the future.

I've always felt like the pressures of finding a job is so much more difficult than actually doing the job. The world of product management is an interesting one in which there is no school to go to to help you train for it; rather, it's a company liking your thought process on organizing the chaos that is building products. Learning about how to do product management can be done reading books, blog posts, and watching youtube videos, but the interviewing, this is a totally different thing. 

I've had interviews with companies prior to joining Product Gym and I couldn't get past round 2. I was flustered by interview questions and wasn't doing a good job of showing how I can step into a new role and contribute from day 1. I've started interviewing using methods that Product Gym teaches and I've reached many final rounds and now even have companies competing against each other to give me an offer!
