Frontend bootcamp review
Overall had a good experience with nucamp. My goal was to understand how websites are built. Along the way, I was able to learn major frameworks used to build modern websites and mobile apps - React & React Native. -

Wonderful!

I was someone who was enjoying getting into computer's. I had choose to build a computer from ground up during the pandemic and that led me to believe i had what it takes to learn more. After some solo attempts at learning language's i decided to look into different bootcamps to get a better understanding and find other's who were going down the same path. This was a great choice for me as i feel 100% more confident to continue down this path. I feel now i have a basic foundation and want to continue to build off that. I recommend anyone who is curious and just wants to see if it is for them to take the short 4 week fundumentals class. It was inexpensive and you will have support from all angles to help you through it. I can't wait to continue and see what oppertunities await me. -

Very rewarding
What led me to NuCamp was the idea of a career change. I've always been interested in anything IT and NuCamp was a great way to get my feet wet at a very affordable price. After I finish with NuCamp I hope to apply what I've learned to be able to further my goals in getting a job that will work for me and my success in the future. -

Nucamp Review
I choose to enroll in Nucamp because I wanted to get into web development with no prior experience. It was a great decision because I now have the tools I need to build what I want, even if it includes material that wasn't taught in this class. I hope to build new, innovative websites with what I have learned. -

Nucamp is for everyone!!!
I came from a hands-on background. Choosing Nucamp was not only a great price, but it was a great transition into the world of IT. The classes are quick and you will have to apply yourself. The end result IS worth it. I will take what I have learned and apply it all to the pursuit of a cyber security degree. -

Nucamp: Pleasant surprise
Initially the price was the main deciding factor to start this bootcamp but at the end, the instructor and structure are what kept me in this course. I'm hoping to get my foot into the door in the tech/dev industry. This has proven to be the right choice for me so far and can't wait to reap the rewards. -

Amazing full-circle course
Amazing course content for the SQL with Python course. Learning the basics of SQL and then utilizing what we learned about databases to create fully interactive programs from client to server was fantastic. I specifically enjoyed learning more about Flask and how to use it to accomplish this. -

I came to Nucamp with almost zero experience in web development. After completing the Fundamentals Bootcamp, I feel confident in my decision to take their Full Stack Bootcamp to help me pursue a career in web development. My teacher was friendly, knowledgeable, and available for questions when I was stumped. (I was stumped a lot!) I worked at my own pace throughout the week and attended the live online workshops every Saturday. My classmates were supportive, positive, and engaged in the curriculum. Overall I had a great experience with this first Bootcamp and I look forward to continuing my learning and starting a new career in tech. -

Nu camp leaves much to be desired

Nucamps pricing and material leave much to be desired.
I have attended both 2U & Bloc bootcamps for softwate dev & ux design previously. I have also done self guided youtube learning, bought udemy courses and have a subscription to code academy. My hope waa that Nucamp would be a middle ground.
I was planning on attending nucamps fundamentals & backend course as a way to sharpen up my skills after working a less technical, but related role in software development for three years. After the first day of looking at materials decided to cancel.
When cancelling they kept over $100 from both registrations as a registration fee even though I had not attended any classes. Customer servicr is handled by a third party service based in India.
The course material is primarily self guided with one day a week used to review lesson material. The material is simple checks and reviews with some larger projects.
In my opinion, you're better off watching Traversy & others on YouTube, buying courses from Udemy & joining codeacademy.
Also, it currently seems impossible to stop emails from coming Ive unsubscribed, and marked as spam but I keep getting emails.
Save your money for a real bootcamp or just do self guided learning.Stephanie of Nucamp

Hello anonymous student,
It feels a bit unfair to be reviewed based on a few minutes of looking over our curriculum and actually not participating at all in our bootcamp. Unfortunately, you missed most of what makes Nucamp unique:
- engaging with your dedicated instructor and classmates in your classroom,
- participating in your weekly live workshops,
- working on challenging assignments with your classmates, receiving feedback and a grade from your instructor, and learning from it,
- working on your portfolio project,
- leveraging our career services including 1:1 career coaching sessions,
- graduating.
We also do not have a "third party" team in India. Our support is handled in the US and is our own.
We hope to see you back in our bootcamp and have you go through the whole learning experience. -

Excellent
I have read in an article that there will be more IT jobs in job market and less people qualified for it. I am new to coding, no prior experience. I needed a good Bootcamp that works with my schedule. That's why I selected Nucamp. I learned a lot with this Bootcamp. Hoping to get a job in IT field. -

horrible, I had a rude instructor [name redacted]. The website is confusing at first. They don't have a code to compare your code to see where you made the mistake. I am very disappointed. I have been through bootcamps before and never had this problem. I finished shecodes boot camp and it was amazing.Stephanie of Nucamp

Hello, and first let me say I'm sorry you feel that way about your experience. We have looked into the situation that led to your feedback and would like to clarify a few things that we hope will help with the remaining of your bootcamp if you choose to continue.
First, we understand that you wrote your review after the first couple of weeks of your bootcamp. We hope that the next weeks and following workshops will improve and that our response will help with that.
Regarding providing the finished code at the workshop, this is indeed something that we do not want to do as it would hurt the learning experience and the acquisition of coding skills. We offer finished code during the week as students practice, but the purpose of the end-of-week workshop is to force students to think critically about the code that needs to be written. Providing the finished code would go against that, and would be a disservice to the student learning journey.
You mentioned in another review that you could only attend 2 hours of the 4-hour workshop, and wanted to be given the finished code during these 2 hours. This made the situation more difficult to handle for the instructor. We looked at the feedback your instructor received while teaching your class and could not find an issue with it (4.8 out of 5 is considered excellent). We hope that you will be able to dedicate the full 4 hours for future workshops, we also advise you to study regularly each day.
Best of luck for the future. We hope you will reconsider continuing your bootcamp with us.
Stephanie. -

Excellent experience!
I enrolled when I found the opportunity to pursue the passion I had when I first went to college. Computer programming has always been the field I was interested in and Nucamp offers a way that I can finally reach that goal that is afforadable and fits my schedule. I'm excited to finally be working toward a career and not working in dead job after dead end job. -

After about 2 years of self teaching and getting stuck in the same circle of learning something new - getting stuck - moving on to something else. I finally had enough. Feeling secluted since I'm in a small town, not having a community or a mentor I had to find one. Nucamp was amazingly affordable and with the flexibility of the work in the week I was able to keep my job and learn. Only being a month into this I already have passed where I was at self learning. Every question I have had been answered and broken down to where I'm actually understanding. In the end this class so far has taken me mentally from a place of "There's no way I'll learn this, I'm not smart enough" to "I built my first project, look what I can do" -

Value for money
This was very helpful for me even with basic knowledge of web deign. The self-paced course materials are very explanatory and somehow, whenever I have a question, as I rea or listen further in the material, they get answered. Thank you Nucamp for all the effort put into creating these materials and giving us excellent teachers as instructors -

Backend

I have a background working as a process engineer and manager in industrial software. I seen the shift from desktop to microservice and cloud architectures, and wanted to learn more about it and how to execute those projects.
I think it was the right decision for me. I had some background in python, which made the first 2 or 3 weeks of the course easy. But by the end of the first section, and definitely in the SQL and devops section, most if it was new to me.
The course covers a wide amount of material, without too much depth. I now have a good place to get started if I want to dive into certain technologies. I think the course overall had a good pace, a little fast but we got to cover a lot of material.
The instructors were knowledgeable, and had actual professional experience, which I really wanted to see.
Their tools and systems are streamlined. I liked that everyone is in the same time zone. Class sizes are good.
My only complaint is the exercises were a little too easy, and the portfolio project, while great for learning, is optional. I think we had some very good students in the courses, but some that I would be cautious of hiring myself. -

Great experience with Nucamp
This is an amazing course with great instruction and insight into Python. It provides a great introduction to the basics of Python, and I really appreciate how effective and thorough the instruction was. All of my classmates were super helpful and ready to dive into the workshops we have every saturday. Looking forward to learning more from NuCamp! -

NuCamp allows for working and learning a new trade

I selected the Web Fundamentals Introductory course which focused on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I selected this course to evaluate the following: 1 Did I like programming and 2 Was NuCamp right for me to return to programming. I liked the low cost which allowed me to evaluate both of these things. If I were working full-time, I could see the appeal of working 2-4 hours per night and attending the coding lab on Saturdays. At the end of the course, I determined that I do like programming and NuCamp allowed me to learn at a slow pace. After I left the bootcamp, I decided to explore obtaining a CS degree as I am not currently employed, and possibly return to a bootcamp once I complete the CS degree. -

nothing valuable
that course is a fake, there is nothing which is worth of the money, they have a good review because of rewards that they are giving, nothing which I can recommend.
- website is more less equvalent to public wiki or w3c org
- tutors are not qualified
- slack chanells are more less for wasting time
-the content is not good
-there is no training is more less train your self -

Experienced and gained new knowledge.
I wanted a career change, so I came to Nucamp to learn how to develop softwares and to become one. After going through the backend course, I was exposed to new knowledges, and it is very informative.
I went through the backend course on Nucamp and learned quite a bit of new knowledge. Got the chance to exposed with using clouds as well. -

HTML, CSS and JavaScript
I really struggled to keep up and understand the material. I didn't have the kind of time other students seemed to have. I don't regret doing the bootcamp because I did learn some things along the way. I need a class that's at a slower pace. Maybe something that's several months long for my learning style. -

I chose Nucamp after a ton of research looking into many coding bootcamps and decided to stick with them since of their flexibility, price and overall effectiveness. I initially joined because I want to move into the tech industry and find a job as a front end developer in whatever place I can find. Thanks to the fundamentals course I know the very basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript that can allow me to make basic websites that are stylish and functional. -

Attending Nu Camp has been a life changing experience for me. The way the classes are broken down for you is unique in comparison to other bootcamps. The quality of the education that you get for what you pay is very unique as well. I'd definitely sign up for more classes and suggest this course to others! -

What led me to enroll was that I simply cannot make myself to sit there and try to learn something on my own time. I need structure and timelines to force me to go through everything and at least make me do an hour of videos and at the minimum 5 minutes of coding every single day. I aspire to continue on with my education and keeping to an hour every single day and at least 5 minutes of coding.
Nucamp was affordable and gives alternative options to get you in there. They also have Slack with everyone involved so if you ever run into difficulty, you can always ask a question and someone will almost always respond. -

Great Bootcamp
The main reason that why I wanted to join this bootcamp is because of the flexible schedule they offer for people like me who work full time job and trying to learn different skill set like what they offer, and i am so happy by what i am learning so far.

Nucamp review
Nucamp was the most affordable boot camp I could find and was also the most flexible for my schedule as I work full time. It's definetly intense for those of us with no tech background, but the instructors are very helpful and there are always extra resources linked for additional studying. I think I made a good choice in selecting Nucamp. -

For two years, I've been dabbling with coding by paying for and working through online courses because I want to transition careers. Though I learned some things about web development, I never followed through because life got in the way, plus I didn't feel like I had the right structure to learn. NuCamp has given me the right structure and pathway to learn web development, and it's also very affordable. I love the way the courses are set up and the way we get to meet with fellow NuCampers in the course to discuss and solve problems. Go NuCamp! -

BE WARNED!!!!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!! These programs are EXTREMELY outdated, and mostly just copy/paste instruction with little to no explanation. If I could go back in time I would have just burned my money and watched YouTube (would have learned more this way). I have also voiced my concerns to both customer support and the CEO, both have ignored me, or simply offered an opportunity to take the same course over again. This makes no sense. You have been warned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Stephanie of Nucamp

We are really sorry that our learning experience didn't work for you, and would like to invite you to reach to studentadmin@nucamp.co one more time to discuss what we could be doing to help.
We would also like to correct the points you are making about content freshness since we do not believe it to be accurate.
We are continuously updating our content, and recently upgraded the React and React Native curriculum to the latest React version and updated the codebase to using Hooks.
We are also making many changes to the Python SQL content to make it easier to install. We have been updating the Python and DevOps content a couple of months ago, and are planning to update the Web Development Fundamentals soon as well - not because the content is outdated but because our video production methods have evolved and we'd like to apply them to this bootcamp.
We have full time staff working on updating the content daily, often helped by our instructors as well.
Again, sorry to hear that you felt differently about the content. We're looking forward to figuring out a solution with you. -

Do Not Recommend

Not sure how honest this reporting system is. Hopefully my review doesn't get deleted.
I took the intro web development course with the plan to complete the full stack training through NuCamp. Honestly, I learned more from Udemy courses that I purchased and I wouldn't recommend NuCamp to friends or family. The instructor was largely absent, lacked experience in the field, and struggled understanding/answering basic questions. The website tells you to expect 17.5 hours of content per week, but in reality I was finished with things every week in about 6 hours, INCLUDING the weekly workshops. My instructor made the weekly workshops into a joke where he haphazardly went through the slides we had already seen in the videos that week and asked if there were questions. When we finished our workshop assignments, we were allowed to leave with no further work or review. I was typically done in less than two hours each Saturday.
I do not feel like this course was worth the money AT ALL. Like I said, I've paid far less on Udemy and received much better instruction and higher quality material than NuCamp. Don't spend your money here. There are free bootcamps out there with more to offer and certainly other paid programs that are higher caliber as well.Stephanie of Nucamp

Hello and very sorry about your experience. We make sure that all Instructors are thoroughly vetted during two interviews evaluating their teaching style, and their technical depth. Using the weekly feedback from students we also provide coaching to instructors who need to improve and sometimes have to replace the instructor when the situation doesn't improve. That said the average rating of our instructor is above 4.6 (out of 5) which would indicate your experience was unfortunately an exception, and we'd like to apologize for it.
The core value that Nucamp provides - compared to Udemy - is the support received during the bootcamp, and the career services helping graduates find jobs. The support comes in many ways: the dedicated instructor, students having classmates to work with, and a large and very active Slack community. With this level of support about 70% of students complete the bootcamp, which is much higher than the number of people finishing cheap Udemy courses.
We would love to have you join back to continue your journey with us, as we trust that your next instructor will deliver on your expectations. Please email us at studentadmin@nucamp.co if you are interested.
Lastly yes all the reviews posted here are genuine, none of them are removed. Course Report does not provide a review removal feature to Nucamp. -

Basic, good for begginners
It is a good starting point to learn web dev with nucamp especially you do not know where to start and feeling lost watching tons of tutorials. But it was not enough time to learn fundamentals of javascript in 2 weeks and i think there should be more exercises and workshops to grasp the subjects. Overall it is good bootcamp for the price. -

I work two Jobs
I choose this Bootcamp because of my work schedule, working two Jobs barely allows me to do anything and the schedule of this Bootcamp fits ideally my experience with the BootCamp has been great I have learned thus far, and just like anything you do it is what you put in is what you get out.
