A practical product design program that genuinely improved my thinking

Joining NextLeap's Product Design Fellowship was one of the most valuable decisions in my learning journey. The program goes beyond teaching UI and focuses on building strong product thinking, UX research, problem-solving, and design decision-making through practical, thoughtfully designed learning process that helped me apply concepts in real-world scenarios. One of the biggest highlights of the fellowship was the mentors. They are experienced industry professionals, and learning from each one of them was an incredible experience. Their perspectives, real-world examples, and guidance gave me a much deeper understanding of how product design works in practice. The placement team was also very supportive throughout the placement process, ensuring candidates were well-informed and guided at every stage. If I had one suggestion, it would be to improve the feedback loop so learners receive more consistent and detailed feedback on their work. Other than that, my experience was excellent, and I'd highly recommend NextLeap to anyone looking to build a strong foundation in product design and prepare for the industry. -

My experience with NextLeap has been very positive over the past 4 months. The mentorship and support provided throughout the program were extremely helpful. The placement support team played a key role in helping me secure interview opportunities by guiding me on preparation and next steps. I would especially like to highlight Yunus Kidwai, who supported me at a personal level during my placement journey and helped me in getting interview opportunities. The course mentorship was also strong Harshit Bajpai was always available to help with my doubts and ensured that my questions were clearly resolved. One thing I really appreciated was how the team actively listens to student concerns. They discuss issues internally and take action to improve the experience, which shows they genuinely care about students' progress.Overall, this program helped me learn a lot in a short time and improved both my technical and practical understanding. I would recommend it to anyone looking for structured guidance and strong mentorship in their learning journey. -

The NextLeap Data Analyst Fellowship is an intensive, well-structured program that truly bridges the gap between academic theory and industry reality. The curriculum is exceptionally comprehensive, covering everything from SQL and Python to advanced data visualization, all while maintaining a sharp focus on business applications.
What sets this fellowship apart is the caliber of mentor support. Having access to industry experts who provide granular feedback on your work is invaluable. However, the real highlights are the Case Hours and Milestone Projects. These aren't just cookie-cutter exercises; they are rigorous challenges that forced me to build strong logical thinking and reasoning skills. By deconstructing complex business problems into data-driven solutions, I gained the confidence to tackle real-world datasets with a structured approach.
If you are looking for an opportunity to not just learn tools, but to think like a professional analyst, this fellowship is a game-changer. It provides a perfect environment to build a high-quality portfolio while learning from the best in the field. -

I am a graduate of the PM program. The curriculum is very relevant, industry-ready, and the case based pedagogy provides practical hands on learning. It imparts solid foundations and first principles mindset in the students. You also have the privilege of interacting with industry veterans and practising PMs for doubt clarification and case solving. Unlike the plethora of other me-too PM courses commercializing the hype, Nextleap emerges as an affordable, learning-centric, community driven platform. The best part is that the curriculum gets updated frequently and keeps you in line with the needs of the industry. Being able to learn from Arindam, the OG mastermind behind the Flipkart APM program is a privilege! The placement process is also very transparent and systematic, with great startups and firms being part of the hiring network. I can any day, blindly recommend Nextleap for anyone seeking PM upskilling platforms or is aspiring / transitioning to PM roles.
Thank you Nextleap ♥️♥️♥️ -

Building My Product Thinking from Curiosity to Confidence

I joined the NextLeap Product Management Fellowship at a time when I genuinely felt lost in terms of direction. I come from a CSE background and was preparing for UPSC CSE, but deep down I knew I was always more curious about technology and products. I had even launched a small startup during my school days, but I didn’t have structured product thinking or clarity on how to approach problems like a product manager.
The fellowship helped me align my thinking. It wasn’t just about learning frameworks, it was about changing how I see problems. One of the biggest lessons for me was this: we shouldn’t design products based on how we want users to behave; we should design around how they actually behave. That shift toward outcome-oriented and user-centric thinking completely changed my approach.
Working on multiple projects, conducting user interviews, running surveys, and doing product teardowns strengthened my user empathy in a real way. I learned how to identify the real problem behind surface-level complaints, how to align product decisions with a company’s vision, and how to think through edge cases logically.
The mentors played a huge role in this journey. Saksham, coming from an SDE background, explained technical concepts in a way that refreshed and strengthened my foundations. The AI sessions were especially exciting because understanding how LLMs work, how companies use AI in workflows, and how to think about model limitations and edge cases increased my curiosity about the AI domain even more. Arindam’s sessions on user empathy, structured problem-solving, and aligning product vision with execution were some of the most impactful for me.
What I didn’t expect was how much the peer environment would help. I was honestly quite underconfident in the beginning. Being surrounded by people who were analytical, experienced, and serious about product pushed me to grow. Collaborating with them and seeing how they approached problems helped me build confidence step by step.
Meha Ma’am’s support during applications and interviews meant a lot to me personally. There were moments when I felt uncertain and low, and her guidance and encouragement helped me stay grounded and move forward. That human support made the experience feel more than just a course.
If you’re someone trying to build strong product foundations, especially if you’re transitioning or figuring things out, this fellowship doesn’t just teach you frameworks. It reshapes how you think. For me, it was a mindset shift as much as a skill-building journey.
It has truly been a transformative experience. -

Learning How to Think Like a Product Manager at NextLeap

NextLeap helped me build clarity on what real Product Management looks like beyond frameworks and buzzwords.
One of the biggest takeaways for me was learning how to think like a Product Manager, not just how to answer interview questions. The course puts strong emphasis on fundamentals—problem discovery, user pain points, prioritisation, trade-offs, and structured decision-making.
Arindam Sir’s sessions stood out the most. His way of explaining product thinking is very practical and grounded in reality. Instead of jumping straight to solutions, he constantly reinforces:
1. Start with the problem, not the feature
2. Understand who the user is and why the problem matters
3. Be clear about what decision you’re making and what you’re optimising for
4. Think in terms of impact, constraints, and trade-offs, not just ideas
What I appreciated was that the learning wasn’t theoretical. Concepts like user journeys, metrics, prioritisation, and stakeholder alignment were explained with real-world context, making it easier to apply them during interviews and actual product discussions.
Overall, NextLeap gave me a strong foundation in product thinking and helped me become more structured, confident, and intentional in how I approach product problems. I’d especially recommend it to anyone transitioning into Product Management or looking to strengthen their fundamentals. -

Best starter course for PM

Nextleap is hand down the best place to start if someone wants to get into PM. They deliver more value than any other PM course in the market at a fraction of their price. The length of the course (4 months) is long enough that the student can learn comfortably, while not dragging out too long like other courses tend to do. Their mentors are well exp PMs itself and they bring valuable insights into the learning. The learning portal has recorded lectures, job portal, quizzes, SQL training, reading material, mock interviewers which is everything a beginner needs to learn about PM. Their placement support is also solid and gives enough opportunities to its top fellows. What truly makes Nextleap stand out is their ongoing support after the course is finished. If I had to give one small piece of improvement to the team, it would be a 1 on 1 review call for every candidate who attempted the graduation project but has not made it to the Top fellows. While parameters like Clarity and depth of though give a high level idea on where their submission might have lacked, its doesn't really give the whole picture on where to improve. A 1 on 1 call, or even a personalized written review for an attempt given by the mentors on why their submission couldn't make it and where to improve, would really help candidates learn and iterate much faster. -

I joined NextLeap’s PM Fellowship while switching from marketing, and honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. What surprised me the most was how real the learning felt. Nothing here is passive. No “sit back and watch videos.” You’re constantly thinking, building, fixing mistakes, and getting pushed to do better.
The mentors don’t sugarcoat anything — if your work is weak, they tell you straight. At first it stung, but it ended up being the most helpful part of the program. I actually learned how to think like a PM instead of just memorizing frameworks.
The weekly challenges, product teardowns, and feedback loops forced me to improve fast. By the end, I had a portfolio I was actually proud of — not some generic case study template. It’s not an easy course, and it won’t magically get you a job. But if you’re willing to put in the effort, it genuinely helps you level up your thinking and gives you a clear direction. For me, it was absolutely worth the time and work. -

The NextLeap curriculum is very smooth in helping students to transition into the Product space. It helped me understand everything from A-Z of product and what a PM would require to do, all the terms and methods associated with it. The general classes would be overcrowded although the 1 on 1 mentor sessions made up for it where we directly talk to mentors and get real world insights. Joining NextLeap was easily one of the best career decisions I’ve made. Coming from a tech background with zero interest in coding, I was feeling lost and figuring out what to do with my career. I became interested in Product Management, but watching videos and talking to seniors only left me confused about practical execution and how to actually handle projects on the job.NextLeap bridged that gap completely. Breaking into an IIT- and IIM-dominated field as a fresher from a non-IIT background in this tough job market felt almost impossible, but the mentorship, hands-on learning, and placement support guided me every step of the way. I joined the NextLeap Product Management Fellowship after finishing my B.Tech in ECE from VIT Vellore, and it completely changed how I think about building products.
Before this, I understood product management in a textbook sense: frameworks, prioritization matrices, roadmaps. What NextLeap actually taught me was how to think from first principles. Instead of jumping to solutions, I learned to slow down and ask what problem I was actually solving and for whom. That shift showed up directly in my work.
The course is genuinely hands-on. It's not passive video-watching. Between building projects and working through real case studies, I was constantly building, breaking things, and fixing them. That kind of repetition is what actually builds product instinct, not just knowledge you can recite in an interview The mentors deserve a special mention. Learning from Arindam was a privilege. His way of pushing you to defend your thinking, not just your answer, made me sharper in ways I still use today. The sessions on AI and LLMs were especially valuable given how fast the space is moving, and they gave me the confidence to go deep into AI as a specialization.
But if there's one part of NextLeap that stood out the most for me, it's the placement support. Job hunting in Product Domain, especially as someone transitioning through a fellowship, can be disorienting. The team was there at every single step: resume reviews, mock interviews and just genuine encouragement when things got tough. That kind of support is rare, and it made a real difference in how prepared and confident I felt walking into interviews.
If you're serious about becoming a PM and want a program that builds real thinking rather than just teaching frameworks, I'd recommend NextLeap without hesitation. It's not an easy four months, but it's worth every bit of the effort. -

A Great Learning Experience with Strong Placement Support

My experience with the NextLeap Product Design Fellowship has been really positive. The course is thoughtfully structured and has helped me learn a lot, especially by making the learning very practical rather than just theoretical.
One of the things I really appreciated was the milestone-based approach. Each milestone pushed me to apply what I had learned during the fellowship. This made the learning much more hands-on and helped me understand how product design works in practice.
I also really liked that the fellowship gives you multiple opportunities to improve. Having up to three attempts for the milestones meant that you could learn from the feedback, work on your gaps, and come back stronger. It also gives you a genuine opportunity to become a Top Fellow rather than making the first attempt your only chance. Being recognized as a Top Fellow myself made that experience particularly rewarding.
After becoming a Top Fellow, the portfolio round was also a great experience. It gave me an opportunity to present my work and get more focused feedback on how I showcase my projects.
The placement support is another strong part of the fellowship. Good companies come through the placement process, and there are opportunities to apply for a variety of product and design roles. Ritika has also been extremely helpful throughout the placement process, from providing feedback on resumes and portfolios to sharing relevant opportunities, answering questions, helping us navigate the process, and keeping us informed.
Suggestions for improvement: 1. Add a presentation-focused milestone
It would be helpful to have a milestone where students are specifically asked to create a concise presentation or slide deck. Creating presentation slides for a recruiter is quite different from creating detailed case study slides, and practicing how to communicate a project clearly and concisely would be valuable for interviews and portfolio presentations.
2. Add comments to graduation project scores
It would also be helpful if the scores for the graduation project included detailed comments or feedback. Since the graduation project is such an important part of the fellowship, this would help students understand what they did well, where they could improve, and how they can apply that feedback to future projects.
Overall, I feel that NextLeap gave me a much clearer understanding of product design and, more importantly, gave me the opportunity to practice it consistently. The combination of structured learning, practical milestones, multiple attempts, feedback, portfolio guidance, and placement support made the fellowship a very valuable experience for me. -

ProsThe initial days of the course are quite insightful if you’re already from a design background, and can feel a little rigorous if you’re coming from outside the field. But the way the course is structured, along with the guidance and regular Q&A sessions, really helps you find your pace without making things feel too overwhelming. What I liked most is that the course is very practical. It doesn’t stay ambiguous or overly theoretical like you actually get a sense of how things work in the industry and what the expected standards are for a product designer. From research and defining KPIs to design systems, validation, and the overall product cycle, they try to cover things fairly well. The mentors also bring a lot of value because they come from different backgrounds and roles. Mentors like Arindam Mukherjee, Aditee Gore, Kartik Singh along with designers, PMs, and experts from the product ecosystem, share their experiences in a way that’s easy to understand and relate to. The peer breakout sessions were also helpful, especially for developing the soft skills that are important but often overlooked in design education. The graduation project was probably the biggest test of the course for me. It also determines the placement support you receive, which I thought was a big plus. Getting placement support based on merit shows that Quality NextLeap is serious about maintaining a certain standard and building credibility with the industry. For my course specifically, Ritika Saha, the placement and career advisor, has been fantastic at what she does. The opportunities shared, resume assistance, and portfolio reviews have all been genuinely useful.ConsThere are a few moments where, if you’re already working in the design field, some sessions can feel a little slow because you may already be familiar with the concepts. For example, some of the initial Figma sessions felt a bit basic for me. That said, the advanced Figma sessions were really good and much more relevant to someone who already has experience with the tool. The scoring and feedback (graduation project) could also be a bit clearer. Sometimes it’s hard to understand what went well, what didn’t, or why a particular score was given. The post graduation project call helps, but having a short note with the score explaining the strengths and areas for improvement would make the feedback more useful. -

When I joined NextLeap, I already had some exposure to product design, but the course was still an eye opener and exactly the kind of learning experience I was looking for.
My biggest takeaway was learning how to approach a problem. I used to start thinking about solutions before deeply understanding the problem first, and I realised that this is the actual foundation of good product design. The course really helped me build that foundation and think more like a product designer.
My favourite sessions were with Arindam Sir. They really helped me understand how a designer should think, approach a problem, and arrive at a solution. I also found most of the sessions with industry experts extremely insightful. They were knowledgeable, approachable, and very friendly. The Figma sessions were also really helpful in building a strong foundation.
Another thing I really appreciated about NextLeap was the career support. Becoming a Top Fellow isn't easy, but it opens up access to the job board and opportunities at some great companies. The placement mentors are genuinely invested, with 1:1 sessions, honest feedback, and support throughout the job search.
A special shoutout to Ritika, who helped me a lot during my job search. She gave me honest feedback on where I needed to improve, proactively checked in, and always supported me until I landed a job through NextLeap. I also want to thank Rahul, who helped me initially and really pushed me to improve my resume, portfolio, and case studies.
Overall, NextLeap gave me much more than just another course to add to my resume. It changed the way I think about product design and gave me a much deeper understanding of the entire design process, from user research and user journeys to information architecture, systems thinking, interaction and motion design, and everything in between. It helped me understand not just what to do at each stage, but how to actually think through and execute each step well.
I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to build or strengthen their foundation in product design. -

Guided by exceptional mentors such as Yunus, Saksham, Praneeta, and Harshit the journey felt structured and supportive—allowing me to focus entirely on working hard and growing. My Data Analyst fellowship not only helped me benchmark myself against industry standards but also enabled significant upskilling through multiple minor and major projects. The experience has been transformative, equipping me with practical knowledge and confidence to excel in analytics.I wish the very best to future NextLeap fellows—you are in for a rewarding journey. -

I joined the NextLeap Product Design Fellowship while transitioning from a non-design background, and it played a significant role in helping me start my career in product design.
The curriculum is well-structured and covers the complete product design process from fundamentals and user research to UI design, design systems, prototyping, and portfolio projects which helped me build confidence and develop a strong design mindset. Also, the mentors provide detailed, actionable feedback on milestone projects, which helped me improve consistently. The live sessions and figma hours made learning much more engaging.
The career support was equally valuable. The team helped with portfolio reviews, resume improvements, interview preparation, and job readiness. Applying what I learned during the fellowship, I recently secured an UI/UX Designer internship through NextLeap Career Services, which was a major milestone.
Overall, I’d highly recommend the NextLeap Product Design Fellowship to anyone looking to break into product design, especially career switchers or beginners. The program provides a structured learning path, hands-on projects, experienced mentors, and strong career guidance. While landing a job ultimately depends on your own effort and consistency, the fellowship equips you with the skills and confidence needed to succeed. -

After nearly a year of job searching, I’m incredibly grateful to have finally landed a Product Designer role, and NextLeap played a significant part in that journey.
The platform provided not only structured learning and career guidance but also the confidence to approach interviews with a stronger understanding of product thinking, UX fundamentals, and case study presentation. What stood out most was the mentorship and personalized support throughout the process.
A special thanks to Ritika and Meha for their guidance, encouragement, and timely feedback. Their mentorship helped me identify areas of improvement, refine my approach, and stay motivated during a challenging job search.
The mentors at NextLeap consistently shared practical insights from the industry, making the learning experience highly relevant and actionable.
