At first I know it may seem like it’s too good to be true but if your looking for a stable career making good money look no further than CourseCareers. The course it’s self is not hard. I took notes and worked hard and finished the course in about 2 months and got my first offer less than two weeks after finishing. I now have a paid internship with a large cybersecurity company and well on my way to making over 60k a year in the event that I get promoted to a full time Sales Rep. Absolutely the best thing I've ever done. I've jumped around jobs before and nothing ever felt right or ever paid more than $10/hr. Save your money! I haven’t been able to find a job after completing the accounting certification with a business degree to supplement. I took their stupid workshops and I absolutely regret spending this money and wasting so much time on their resume and recruitment services that are bogus. It’s been 7 months and NOTHING!!! After going through four colleges, I still don't have a concise answer as to what I want to do with my life. I discovered a course on becoming an Electrician from a youtuber named The Mad Electrician. Taking the course gave me insight into a field I never thought I could get into three to four years ago. After completing his course, I already got an acceptance from an electrical apprenticeship lined up the beginning of next year. I’m currently taking the course in technology sales. I love it so far. It’s definitely helping me on this journey. It’s straight to the point and simple to understand. It was affordable and they even payment plans. My husband is taking the information technology and he loves it as well. They give a lot of information but it’s everything you’ll need in your career. I’m currently enrolled in the Accounting course through Course Careers and was planning to continue with the HR course next—but honestly, I’m now very hesitant.

Let me start with the main pro:

The biggest and most valuable benefit of Course Careers is the almost guaranteed job placement support. For someone trying to break into a new field, that’s a huge advantage and probably the reason many people sign up.

That said, the learning experience has been very frustrating and in many ways disappointing.

1. No Real Study Support or Materials

The course is 100% taught through pre-recorded videos. There are no PowerPoints, no PDFs, no guided notes, no chapter summaries, and no practice worksheets to help you absorb and retain the material.
If you’re someone who struggles with studying or needs structure, this format is extremely hard to follow. A 10-minute video can turn into a 2-hour process of pausing, taking notes, Googling, and double-checking the instructor’s statements for accuracy.

2. Outdated and Sometimes Incorrect Content

Some of the videos are very old and contain factual errors. I’ve caught wrong phrases, incorrect formulas, and flat-out wrong answers. In a few cases, I only caught them because other students left comments pointing them out.
Yhe problem? Many of those comments were months or even years old—and the instructor never replied or updated the video. That gives the impression no one is actively maintaining or improving the course.

3. Instructor Feedback is Nonexistent

As mentioned, comments with valid questions or corrections are often ignored. This creates a sense that once your money is paid, you're largely on your own.

4. Terrible Quiz and Exam Experience

Some quizzes ask you to refer to Chapter XYZ to find an answer—but you can’t go back once you’re in the quiz. So you're expected to memorize every small detail without any reference.
During my practice exam, one question asked:
  "What was Apple Inc's gross margin for Products in thousands in 2023 (Hint: See Chapter 5.1)."
If I’m not allowed to look at notes or refer to the material, how am I supposed to remember exact numbers from a random chapter?

5. Strict, Unrealistic Exam Requirements

Exams are proctored with video monitoring and require a webcam. But what if someone only has a tablet or phone? What if your camera is broken? What if you're on a tight budget and can’t afford to replace it? For a program that markets itself as an accessible alternative to college, this feels out of touch with the reality of many students' situations.

6. Required Grammarly Subscription

You’re also required to download and use Grammarly—not the free version, but the paid subscription. Yes you can get the free version for 3 days but if it takes longer to take test, or if you have to retest, you'r  stuck paying
Again, for those already stretching to pay for the course, this can be a financial strain and shouldn’t be mandatory.

7. No Notes Allowed? Unrealistic Expectation

I don't understand why using notes is banned during exams. As a current college student, I’ve always been encouraged to use study aids.
In real-world jobs, people use Google, ChatGPT, calculators, and templates every day. Expecting students to memorize complex terms and exact data points for a proctored test feels like an outdated and unnecessary barrier.

Final Thoughts:

Course Careers has potential and their job placement network seems strong—but the educational content and student support fall short. This isn’t a learning style that works for everyone, especially those who need structure, updated information, and feedback.

Until they invest in:

-Updated and accurate materials
-Printable notes and reference guides
-Optional (and affordable) exam requirements
-Better instructor engagement

I can’t confidently and won'  recommend the course to others.

Because of these issues, I'm still undecided about continuing with the HR course. I fear it will have the same problems, and I don't want to waste more time on a platform that doesn't support different learning styles or offer updated, accurate materials. Read less

I didn't know what to expect when I started the course. You should know then and there if you're motivated to commit to the process. I had some ups and downs with the instructor's style of teaching, but the value of what was being taught shone through. While dipping your toes in a field as large as accounting can seem like a daunting task, this course is definitely worth the time and investment. It provides resources and allows you to take the course at your own pace (extremely helpful for those pressed for time juggling multiple jobs/commitments). You can also go back and review anything you find confusing and this feature has been extremely helpful for lessons which were a bit more challenging. I recently completed the IT course through Course Careers, and it exceeded my expectations.
