frinds advise: dont do it
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
I did the bootcamp (it doesn't matter if it's in Porto or Lisbon) but the end result: learn and get a job - that's the point when you spend so much money. The training itself was what was expected for a bootcamp, a lot of material in a short time. Okay, that was as expected.
The school's conditions are poor for what you pay. The school has no reputation in companies, there is no final bonus for paying so much money for a school that is supposedly so special. THERE IS NO DEMAND FOR BOOTCAMP STUDENTS NOW, the market for this demand, for programmers, is dead. Companies want students coming from Universities, there is no longer as much demand to accept bootcamp students. We paid seven thousand euros (€7000.00) and we are not guaranteed an internship and the support given to us after the course is more inspirational than factual.
Out of 30 people in the class, none are employed. Colleagues are going back to their old jobs, getting new ones... and I'm not talking about the worst in the class, but rather the best, who already had some experience. There are no jobs for alumni of this bootcamp. Choose another program that at least guarantees an internship. This bootcamp no longer makes sense, there is no demand in companies for its students.
Talk to students who recently finished the bootcamp on Linkdin, or simply search and see how many of them are working. These are facts, do this research and don’t fall down this rabbit hole. -

CYBERSECURITY BOOTCAMP IS A SCAM

We were deceived from the beginning to the end. We weren't prepared to take the CompTIA Security+ exam, they don't even give us a completion certificate, there's no support to find employment, nothing. I would give 100€ for the course, maximum. It was the worst 7000€ spent in my life. We tried to talk to them about the certificate, which is asking for the minimum, and they simply don't respond, or when they do, it's to say they're "on top of it". Does it really take 4 months to create a simple certificate? It's really not worth it. I spent 7000€ just to now have to study everything on my own and still can't find a job. -

Best Programming Experience of my Life

This programming bootcamp exceeded my expectations in every way. The curriculum is comprehensive, covering both fundamentals and advanced topics. The instructors are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in students' success. The hands-on projects provided valuable practical experience, and the collaborative environment fostered teamwork and problem-solving skills. Additionally, the career support services helped me land a job shortly after completing the program. I highly recommend this bootcamp to anyone looking to jumpstart their career in programming. -

A worthwhile experience

It's a worthwhile experience, no doubt about it. But it's mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting. When they say that at Code for All_ you'll live to eat, sleep and study... take it seriously. It's an extremely demanding course that will require you until the very last day. I recommend it mainly for those who want to pursue a career in Backend and want to learn Java. If you want to focus more on Frontend, my advice is: look for another course. The teachers are great, they're really committed to helping you throughout the process. Ideal for those who want a quick career change. Come prepared to live for it! -

What is learned is little compared to what is spent to take the course.

Overall, the bootcamp is a good experience, but we end up learning more from our peers than from the trainers. Trainers who don't even have a training course. We are in a room with 5 trainers, but only 2 help at a time without apparent justification. The conditions of the room are okay for a work environment but I expected more comfort considering the investment. As I mentioned, we end up learning and clearly making significant progress to enter the programming world, but that is because the class is all working towards the same goal, helping each other and showing various ways to approach the topics. The training plan, although structured, is not adapted to support people who start falling behind in the material. -

I like the conditions of the campus. And i really like the professors specially Miguel Rolo because of the patience with the students and also by the clarity explaining the subjects. I also think that should be provided more exercises and also the slides should be improved because the information provided by them sometimes is not the best and is not clear. To conclude i also like to say that the spirit of professors and the staff like Mariana that helps in this 14 challenging weeks. So to conclude my experience was very positive. -

Really good Bootcamp
In terms of location, it's not very good, it's a bit far from the center of Lisbon, despite having plenty of transport, as this course is very intense I need to spend many hours studying and thanks to the time I waste on transport, I can't use it all the time I have to study -

Tough but amazing

I already heard that this bootcamp wasn't easy to do, but now I have been through it I can say it is way, way harder than I could ever imagine! And that is awesome, with the help of the amazing MC's (aka teachers) team I was able to learn so much, and go through things I could never imagine I was capable of! Also, the support and guidelines from the placement team in order to help us find our first job is just incredible! -

14 weeks fullStack bootcamp
Amazing experience, it can be a little bit scary but it becomes easier with all the support from all the staff. The only experience where "trust the process" is real, you learn not only to code but mainly you learn to be a independent programmer capable to face all challenges that may come. -

One of a kind experience

I've had my fair share of academic experiences and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I've never had one like this. I won't lie and say it is easy, but with the level of support provided by not only the instructors, but all the staff makes it a very fruitful experience. I feel I not only learned everything I need to tackle the job market, but grew as a person and professional. It's a lot of information and you need to really make yourself available to only focus on the bootcamp during it's duration but if you do, you'll learn more than you ever thought you would. In my specific experience, I was at the bootcamp 2 hours before class and stayed for 2-3 hours after the end of the day but I wasn't alone as a lot of classmates did the same.
Another point I feel I need to point out is the networking and relationships you'll build with your class. It's a truly cooperative environment where the success of one is the success of all. Make sure to connect with your class because there isn't anyone that is great at everything. Your faults might be their strength and vice-versa and by helping each other you'll progress and learn more than you would alone.
Give this bootcamp a chance if you want to truly learn to be a full stack developer and if you're willing to push yourself to your limits to be the best person and professional you can be. -

Life changing experience

This was the most life changing academic experience in my life. I was lost in life, as the my area of studies was sold as something it really wasn't and there was no job opportunities. After coming here, even with the high cost, it was more than worth it. The teaching methods are good, and the teachers are also nice and amazing at explaining, always available to help us even after hours. I would recommend anyone looking to change they'r life to come here, even with the free pre-course that works as a selection method, it gives you a quick grasp into programming and a taste of what you are in for. Thank you code4all! -

The best code camp I've had the pleasure to be part of!
Recently completed their full stack web development coding bootcamp, and I am thrilled to share my positive experience. The program not only met but exceeded my expectations in terms of content, structure, and support. Very practical and fun! -

Very good and intensive experience
During the 14 weeks you can learn a lot of content and completely immerse yourself in the world of programming. For this reason, it is obviously a very intense 14 weeks, but in the end it is worth it for all the knowledge acquired, even for those who come from a completely different area. The environment is also quite chill and the teaching method is quite creative. -

A fast-paced life-changing bootcamp
There's a difficulty curve. And you'll feel it. Trust me. There's a lot to learn, and these guys know it. They give you the best they have. You'll be well prepared when you leave to keep going and levelling up your skills when you're done. It's a fast-paced experience, but their teachers are always there to help, as well as the rest of the team, with a great availability. -

Before I enrolled on this crazy ride I really didn't know much about the world of Programming and oh boy I couldn't expect anything crazier, but it definitely exceeded my expectations.
These are by far the craziest 14 weeks I had ever experienced just because of how fast-paced it is.
This course won't give you automatically a job especially if you don't put the proper time and effort into it and you need to be ready to support a lot of moments of frustration.
The best thing about it is for sure the people you meet along the way and how supportive they are and that's what makes the bootcamp experience much better, especially because programming isn't just a guy in the basement doing it on its own. I definitely will bring a lot of great memories from it for the next chapters of my life.

Challenging, Intensive, Fun
Fun learning environment making you don´t want to miss any class, sometimes the day would be too full and others too empty that´s why I give a 1 star review on curriculum. The instructors are nice and always there with you. Sometimes they will not help you because that´s the way they want you to learn and to overcome your difficulties alone -

Most expensive bad choice investment ever
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
Your most important requirement: Give me your money first, be cool or get lost
During classes you're highly pressured to be super happy and be the coolest guy/girl of all times.
This results in you feeling that you've been placed in the same group of the top comedians of Portugal, but the reality is that either people are faking due to the pressure to be like that or either they are high. On friday afternoons most probably they are both and also drunk.
In the tests prior to your admittance to the 14 week course they tell you explicitly that they're also screening your coolness, which if you fail you're out.
That's the first warning, if you're a reserved or shy person (and can fake it in the initial screening tests) you'll feel yourself completely like a fish out of water, getting frustrated for being forced to be something/someone you aren't every single day.
Overcrowded classes
Classes are overcrowded and incredibly noisy. You just can't concentrate/focus on the subject being given. It's amazing that people spend 8000€ on an intensive course and behave like they're forced to attend some free course and have zero consideration for their peers. So many times it seems the class is totally out of control, what a mess!
It's not uncommon for on of the top so called Jedis (supposedly top teachers) to burnout and disappear at half course never to be seen again, there's no backup, leaving the remainder of the course to be dealt by the less experienced teachers, the "Padawans". Another mess!
Zero documentation
If you thing at some point they'll provide you any documentation of the slides they present to you during classes, you're so wrong!
Either you get organized and take screenshots of all the slides, be prepared in advance to do data scrapping to save it, or wait until one of your peers do it for you and pass it to you. You can even google it to find those same slides somewhere published for free on the web. It'll save you 8000€.
Once you have that "documentation" you'll find out that it's good only for nothing except attending the classes, being completely useless as support in your future career.
Damn! They don't even give you ANY CERTIFICATION in the end of the course, much less any documentation!
The only thing "proving" you've been there is all their branding in your Linkedin profile, as they teach you to do.
Speed and abandonment
In the first two or three weeks the teaching in so slow paced that it makes you despair, then suddenly they step full on the gas pedal and you just can't keep up with it.
In the end of each class the "teachers" tell you to solve a problem and literally abandon the class to solve it, not being uncommon being completely clueless, being half the class with no choice other than take some indian guys classes on youtube to try to even try to understand what is being asked to be done. The other half just goes home to do the same but in a more calm environment. Some outliers, revolted with the situation, prefer even to play online games and scream intentionally to disturb the people who try to do something.
Job procurement
This part is the biggest joke. You're on your own, there's no job procurement.
There's the class to teach you how to enhance your Linkedin and the job and basically that's it. I consider this class the most important in the whole course as it indeed improved my visibility. Nevertheless, beware that their teachings are more about using YOU to advertise THEM, rather than to help you. Also, many companies will REJECT YOU when you tell that you've been on Academia de Código.
If you're lucky, you're placed in the batch of students to have an interview with Deloitte even before the course ends and you think "well, it's starting better than expected" but then you find out that Deloitte pays Academia de Código for the privilege of screening on firsthand the next batch of cheap labor.
After you get the interview you find out that their main goal is to hire the potentially cheapest guys out there, not the best. You'll soon find out why such a big company has zero talent retention capacity after one year.
From the part of Academia de Código, now being rebranded as Code For All, their main concern from their former students is for them to leave a good review so other fools fall for it.
Final thoughts
Their main goal is your money, if you learn anything it's secondary.
Finding a job is totally up to you. If you think that you enter this course to get some help in being hired, you're wrong. Their 98% chance of being hired is totally bogus, they just take that number out of their magician's hat.
The course content is really poor and their teaching method is ridiculous, you wont learn nothing there, and if you think you can enhance your current knowledge, you'll leave it even more confused and lost than you were before.
I've spent 8000€ on this and not even if I attended 4 courses I would not see where those 8000€ were spent on. It weren't spent on you, that's for sure!
But not all was totally completely bad in these 14 weeks! You can make some friends who shared with you the same pains in those lost 14 weeks (and 8000€ not in your pocket anymore) and in the last day you have one free pizza during the "Hackaton" competition, the only free thing they'll ever give you! In the end wins the team that was more consistent in being a "Puxa-saco" during the whole course.
Before I chose Academia de Código I also investigated the reviews, and as with so many other stuff, when something is too good to be true, it's really too good to be true. Now I know why! Since there are so many students graduating, thus the world of contacts getting smaller and smaller, who will dare about giving bad reviews without being ostracised? Oh yeah, that's right!
It's funny that even charging 8000€ per student and having loads of people coming in and multiplying new rooms for the classes simultaneously, they are still broke and annoy us with emails begging us for more money disguised as "crowdfunding to help new students" for the next courses!
It makes me think that their change in brand name (and perhaps creating a new company) is a way to run away from their debtors, who knows?
I bet they'll change their name again in less than 3 years and repeat the cycle!
You've been warned. Think twice and check eg. 42 Lisboa. At least it's completely free and if it happens to not fit your needs you can simply jump out without the feeling of being ripped off! -

I went in with the sole expectation of getting a better job once the bootcamp was finished and it completely turned my perspective around. They have a very inclusive culture and wonderful teachers that show a real passion for coding which in turn also gives you a passion for coding and learning. You are always encouraged to ask questions and the teachers always want to make sure that you have understood the core concepts of the class before moving on. The curriculum is extensive for 14 weeks and gives you a good insight on the more conceptual aspects of programming besides just teaching you how to code. The job support is fantastic and continues well past the bootcamp term date. Highly recommend it if you want/need a complete life change! -

Great experience. Amazing!

Challenging but rewarding
A lot of knowledge is acquired in 14 week's, the teaching method used is nothing like we are use to, at least for me, and i think should be applied in schools n general as it allows everyone to adapt and see things from a more real perspective.
A very helpful team supporting on the lookout for new jobs and moving into a new work field. -

A fresh start
these have been the most difficult 14 weeks I've had so far, but as well as being difficult they've also been fun.
It was a very good environment where I learnt a lot and where I was lucky enough to be with very good colleagues and teachers.
All in all, it was a very good experience and if I could go back and do it again, I would.x -

Amazing 14 weeks, different learning experience and lots of energy.
Amazing and completely learning experience.
I did programming courses in the past ,including college level, and was completely amazed how superior the learning experience was, maybe even more important than the amazing syllabus was the fact that you are treated like a person and not a simple number on. a sheet. -

You have no idea how can you learn in just 14 weeks, i had 0 experience with programming, and now i feel i know way more things i expected to know after the 14 weeks.

This bootcamp has a well thought system in which you'll have several different tools in your disposal in order for you to be able to learn better, from very comfortable classrooms, good computers, great teachers, exceptional company culture with a free spirit, the space and classes allow you to freely express yourself like you never thought you were going to be able to do and the space also allows you to relax in order to be able to endure the tough 14th weeks of intense learning! -

Immersive, confuse, incomplete
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
It was an immersive 14-week course, but with many points in its favour, but just as many points against. We began by immersing ourselves in the various fields of fullstack developer, but without ever being able to get a foothold so that we could grow, because the time given to us for this is too little, with theory, yes, but a lot of which we don't even take advantage of, which we could use to delve into other fields, which we would probably get more out of. The slides we're given are confusing, unintuitive and sometimes more confusing than helpful. When it comes to the exercises, most of the time they don't help at all, so you spend more time researching how to do the exercise than actually doing it. We could have had more support from the teachers, especially for those students who had more difficulty, but often we only had a maximum of two teachers for 24 students, most of whom needed help. The feeling remains that there was more to do, more could have been done and more could have been achieved. Perhaps we need to rethink the way things are taught and definitely rethink the slides, urgently.
As for the rooms, the uncomfortable chairs, for the amount of hours spent in front of a computer, especially for the amount we are asked to pay, I think some ergonomic comfort should be given.
