To start this review, I first want to say how wonderful the administrators, classmates, and teachers were for the whole experience. Administrator - Kim - was always a quick message away. I felt like there was never a time where she would go longer than 2 hours without responding. She was extremely timely and was able to answer any question I had. She continues to support my learning even after the end of the class. Kim is great!

My teacher, Mike, was easy to understand and would ma...

Thank you so much for your review, Jordan! We are thrilled you consistently felt supported by our instructors, TAs, and classmates - we are proud of our team, they are all pretty amazing! We regret you were unable to complete the requirements for graduation from the boot camp but do applaud you for all you were able to accomplish during your time with us.

Like you mentioned, this program does require a heavy time commitment to studying and mastering the topics. We try our best to communicate the level of dedication required to cover such a large amount of material in 24 weeks and relay to prospective students that they can expect to spend a minimum of 20 hours or more per week outside of class in order to excel (depending on experience). You are completely right that this program is a serious part-time commitment. Our course is designed to provide a high-level understanding of in-demand topics with the goal of giving individuals the foundation needed to be able to dive into additional languages post-graduation. We understand you would have liked to devote more time to the course material and commend you for balancing a personal full-time schedule.

We’d love to hear from you directly to know if there is anything else we can do to support you at this time. If you would like, please reach out to me at (216) 333-1821.

    Web Development

The Full Stack Web Development program as a whole was very well organized. I could only see a couple of downsides. First off, the course involves teaching handlebars rather than leaping into React right away. If the program centers around the Mern stack, then the student should learn as much React as possible. Second, React jobs in Cleveland are scarce. That being said, as a whole, the MERN stack might be excellent, but it is unlikely to be used in the local market.

We appreciate your review. We're glad you had an overall enjoyable student experience. However, from your review, we regret to hear that the curriculum did not live up to your expectations.

We understand you would have liked to spend more time focusing on React. Our course material is based on extensive market research, teaching in-demand skills that students can use to enter the current tech field, and we are proud of our ability to frequently make necessary updates.

We do communicate to learners that because we cover a full-stack, topics are introduced at a high level in-class. We pride ourselves on teaching individuals how to learn, providing a strong foundation of skills that will allow them to easily dive into other programming languages, even after the course ends. This helps participants learn how to problem-solve and self-teach; crucial abilities needed in any real-world role. We appreciate your feedback as we are constantly working on optimizing our curriculum to ensure participants are learning the most valuable skills and concepts.

We sincerely care about all our students and would welcome the opportunity to speak with you further to provide any additional learning or support you may need at this time. If you would like, please contact us directly at (216) 333-1821.

    Great Start, More to Learn

This program has many pros and some cons that go along with it. The biggest benefit you will receive is learning to re-wire your brain to learn to code. This can be the hardest part about coding if you see the foreign languages of different syntax on screen and get frustrated at first. You will learn to break down code and the best ways to best teach yourself to read and write it for any language you are learning in the future.
There is a major con to this course. With how quickly the...

    Meh

Honestly this was a big waste of time and money. Though a bootcamp, there was never a chance to really go in-depth in certain areas and was never truly a reassurance that students understood the material. Most of my comprehension came from tutoring. The last part of the program happened to be during Covid which kinda made it worst due to the lack of focus. Overall I’m just not happy with my time and experience with the program. I feel there was some many scenarios or real like functional...

Thank you for your feedback. We regret to hear you were unsatisfied with your student experience.

Like you noted, this program is a boot camp and was designed to cover a great deal of knowledge in a limited amount of time. Rather than spending extended periods of time on one particular language or technology, we pride ourselves on teaching individuals how to learn, providing a strong foundational skill set that students can use to continue expanding their knowledge and learning new topics—even after graduating.

We strive to communicate to students that our full stack program introduces course material at a macro-level, with additional time required outside of class to properly understand and master the concepts. This methodology is proven to teach individuals how to problem-solve and self-teach: two abilities necessary in any real-world role. To facilitate this learning style, we also provide help during office hours 45 minutes before and 30 minutes after class for students to obtain additional assistance if needed. Our team is constantly working on improving our course material and instructional support to ensure students have the best learning experience possible, so we appreciate your input.

Your cohort did experience a disruption due to COVID-19 that resulted in your studies transitioning online for the health and safety of all participants. We understand that this unplanned change did require some initial adjustments and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

It's our goal for all students to complete the boot camp feeling equipped for success, so we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you and determine what additional assistance we can provide for you at this time. If you would like, please reach out to us directly at (216) 333-1821.
