 This course covered a topics dealing with building predictive models through data. Throughout the classes, we were given a syllabus of jupityer notebooks that covered topics of data cleansing, statistical modeling, and model validations. The notebooks were well detailed and provided great documentation when implementing a final project. I personally found these to be more beneficial when studying and applying concepts outside of the classroom then during class. The instructors had great industry and technical knowledge to the topics but was difficult to get answers to questions outside of classroom. This should not be considered a strong deterrent to the course as self learning is my personal preference. They paved the way to get us started and with my interest in the class I managed to complete the final project and learned a variety of new topics when it came to coding and statistics.  In conclusion, the overall class experience was pleasant and was able to learn a handful of real application to my career and even current job.  Read less

I completed the five week intense UX design course. It was 7 hour webinars, 9:30-4:30 US time but 2:30-9:30pm for me in the U.K.

Saturday classes were great for my schedule; I have a busy job so evenings don’t work for me, and I complete a professional qualification as well so I needed something I could complete quickly before moving on to those assignments.

I loved the experience of being paired with a partner - I learned a lot more because I had a sounding board and someone else to learn from. They also kept me on track! The class provided plentiful opportunity for feedback from the tutor and from the other classmates. There was a good mix of practical exercises and theory - I learn by doing but it was good to know WHY I was doing stuff.

I am not interested in UX as a career but there was a portion of a session dedicated to getting into the space professionally. Overall, I learned a new skill quickly and I was very proud of my final project. Some of the concepts I am adapting for the project management side of my every day role, so it has taught me transferable skills too.

Some of the thinking I knew already, like the iterative ideas, and agile working, but that’s because I use it day to day anyway. However I think it’s good that it starts from the basics as it means you can do this course with any knowledge base.

My only comment would be that some of the classes could have been a bit more structured in terms of breaks so I had a better idea of when to make dinner! I ended up eating during class time rather than the breaks a lot, which felt a bit rude of me when I was on camera. Read less

 Coming from a non-design background, I found this course extremely helpful to gain a broad understanding of the field of UX design and learn new skills outside of my current day-to-day field of work. I found the principles of UX Design easily transferable to my work as an engineer as it taught me a number of key skills including how to get to the core of a problem and how to consider the end user needs in solving any problem. iOS Development is the 3rd course I’ve taken at BrainStation. First of all, their online live learning platform is very well done. The lessons, assignments, and other material are well organized and useful. Their courses are designed to be doable while working full-time - so the hours are generally at night or on the weekends.  Of my three courses, two were 6-9 PM on a weekday and one was 9:30-4:30 on Sundays. I found the Sunday course to be challenging, personally, as it made me feel like I was working 6-day weeks. For five weeks this was doable but by the end I was definitely worn down and starting to not look forward to the course. This is not a reflection on the quality of the course, just a friendly warning in regards to scheduling! 
 I took iOS Development because I work as a product designer and wanted to improve my ability to communicate with developers. This course accomplished that but in ways that I did not expect. The course is very accelerated, and I can’t recommend it to beginners unless they have a lot of time to work on the material and do a lot of outside self-learning. However, with some coding background (or with a lot of time) this course does a great job of establishing the fundamentals of Swift. One complex problem that this course (along with many other courses) faces is the speed of updates in the dev world. Swift was updated prior to the course and so some materials were dated - which led to some confusing times. However, maintaining the material would be extremely difficult considering the speed of changes. Additionally, learning to debug is half the battle when it comes to coding. My instructor was extremely helpful and was available to help on Slack all week. He was very good at giving help that wasn’t the answer but was the educational piece I needed to figure something out myself.  
By the end of the course, I had a strong understanding of a lot of the vocabulary developers use and I understood more about which UI elements are built in and the complexities surrounding customizing some of them. More importantly, I now know how to investigate a lot of these things myself using Xcode. 
With the help of some external tutorials I was able to complete a final project, an app that serves as a to do list, and spend my final class working on styling it.  
I recommend this course to people with a coding background. I don’t think this is the best course for people focused on styling (designers) and I think that beginners should stay away unless they are prepared to invest a solid 20+ hours a week outside of class to work on their own.  Read less

User experience design is a growing field dedicated to crafting compelling digital experiences for a multi-device ecosystem. The Course itself is more of an introductory level class to UX design, understanding research and UX tools - I found that it was more useful for someone that had some background in graphic design, tech (coding) or marketing. For myself - taking digital marketing in the past I did find the class really refreshing and our final project was really great for professionals that would want to use it as a portfolio or pitch to prospective employers or clients. Paul Pittman was helpful - but I do advise those that are taking the course online to be really diligent on not missing classes. It is a lot hard to catch up if you miss even one.

I took the course to systematize my knowledge and learn more about the ways of how things are done today in the industry.
The instructors were amazing, funny and professional. They shared a lot of industry insides, showed a lot of modern tools and websites to expand the knowledge gathered during the lectures. The summary of my final project was very helpful and concise.
I regret that we had to finish the course online because of the situation and I couldn't interact more with the instructors and other participants. 
Take this course if you are a working professional that wants to expand one's knowledge or you want to check if it is something for you.
If you want to reach the deepest deep of the subject you definitely need the full time one.

I graduated from Cohort 36 and had a great learning experience. The head instructor, Ernie, the TA's and support staff provided a great place to learn and grow as a new developer. It was obviously tough learning new skills in such a short time but I feel Wyncode has provided the education and resources to land a developer job in the near future. My experience with Wyncode began before I knew I wanted to apply to their UX/UI program. I attended their one-day UX/UI introduction bootcamp. The introductory bootcamp helped answer many questions I had regarding the in and out of the career and what a day in the life of a UX designer actually consisted of- which led to my decision to register for the following cohort. Now, months later and an official graduate I can speak on the experience from start to end. From the start of the application process up until the first day of class, there were staff members available to answer any questions or help me prepare for orientation. Once class began with Gessica, the head UX/IU instructor, I quickly learned what a treasure it was to have such a skilled communicator and passionate person teaching the material. She was able to explain new terminology and processes in an easy and relatable manner where the student did not feel overwhelmed.  Not only were the staff supportive, but the academy also did a great job at instilling self awareness and creating safe space for growth. This is one of the things I enjoyed about the culture they have built. It allows students to welcome the unknown and push themselves past the struggle. The UX program was well crafted to prepare graduates for real world scenarios by recreating them in the classroom. In addition to UX skills they are also enhancing the students soft skills that will benefit them when they attend interviews or lead meetings. It's because of these frameworks and individuals that I would eagerly recommend Wyncode to anyone interested in tech or design.

UX Bootcamps can work for some students. I would say students who come with very strong visual backgrounds, graphic designers, illustrators, industrial designers and such. Who want to further learn the ux process and enhance their careers. In my case, after dishing out 13k (an enormous amount of money), I walked out not knowing enough visual design. I felt like a good con artist, I can say design process couple of times and I had done 3-4 sprints. But when my employer asked me to use any of the Adobe products, it was an epic fail. Most companies aren't hiring a UX Conceptor, they are hiring a visual designer who also deeply understands UX process. 3 months is simply not enough to build skills. I recommend going to a real school instead, or doing a masters in Europe for the same amount of money. If you want a short cut, take the risk, but only a handful of people are finding jobs now. The market isn't what it used to be, boot camps saturated the market and now the UX professionals are making less and less. I am partly guilty of that too. Read less

I really enjoyed this course. I think they did a good job of covering the basic tools and skills someone would need to become a Data Scientist. This is also a great course of marketers like myself, who are looking to up our data skills and learn a bit more about data visualization. 

This was the first online course I took with Brainstation and the format worked out well. It was over video so we were able to engage with each other and we could all talk to and have conversations about what we were learning.

I took the 5 week online live Product Management course with BrainStation and it was an amazing experience. It took place every Sunday from 9:30am - 4:30pm for five weeks in the comfort of my own home. 

Some of the things I learned included how to identify market opportunities and user needs, allowing me to build a successful product and solution. After creating a comprehensive product launch, defining a minimum viable product, positioning, and pricing, I felt ready to manage a product road-map and make the product come to life. I also developed a strong understanding of scrum, the Agile methodology, and project management framework to enable quick iterations and improvements.

I would suggest this online live course to anyone who wants to gain more confidence behind their innovative ideas and solutions. The instructor worked for a reputable organization and she drew a lot of real-world situations from her experience into the course. I also got to experience working with my classmates in breakout rooms which was a new and awesome experience to have from the comfort of my own home! If you don't have the time to make it out to a class like this or feel distant from this type of offering, you should certainly consider the online live classes from BrainStation. This is my third course I've taken with BrainStation and being able to do it from home worked out great for me.

There is no denying that digital skills are worth investing in. So why don't you try out BrainStation? Its been a 10/10 experience every time I've taken one of their courses. They have payment plans and often your employer will think it's worth investing in as well. It's definitely worth your time and money!

Some exposure to coding and/or Python would be beneficial but not necessary. Once you learn the basics of Python logic/syntax (prep-course and Week 1), the pace of the course is very manageable and provides lots of time for in-class and online questions and discussion. Read less

This school is great for anyone who is looking to get there foot in the door in the tech field. Its an intense program, but being on the other side of it - not only do I have the language to converse with design leaders; but, I have skills to actually design and implement digital products. Not to mention the UX/UI Instructor is an expert in the field and is well respected - cannot wait to name drop on my first interview!
All in all - the Wynstaff is all about making you a successful junior, and even though the current Miami job market has been impacted by Covid-19, there is still tons of support for talent placement. Read less

Highly recommend the User Experience Design Certificate course to anyone looking to learn more about the topic. I am amazed by how many concepts we were able to cover in just 10 weeks! A bit about me:

• I didnt know any Python or Data Science prior to the class
• I'm not a software engineer, but understand basic concepts of coding
• I have a very basic understanding of stats
• My primary goal was to get a very basic understanding of core concepts for data science

Overall, I really enjoyed the class and achieved my goal of achieving a basic understanding of core concepts. The coursework was progressively challenging and enabled me to quickly compound my understanding. I'd highly recommend it for people looking to get a basic intro.
