Helpful for introducing concepts
This class was very helpful for someone who had little to no exposure to data analysis or visualizations. You won't be an expert by any means - this stuff takes more repetition - and the course might have tried to pack too much into 8 weeks. But it laid a firm foundation for learning SQL and Tableau. -

I took the accelerated UX design course course with Brainstation and had a really good time learning. The lessons were well thought out and the instructors were really good at explaining things. I really enjoyed working with the class on some of the group activities. Will recommend this course to anyone looking for a beginner to intermediate intro into UX! -

I took the UX Bootcamp between July and August of 2023, and I felt I had a very enriching learning experience at the Vancouver campus. The UX educators, fellow classmates, and staff really made a big, positive impact on my journey to becoming a UX designer.
The bootcamp is quite the intense learning experience, and it can feel overwhelming at times. I feel that the in-person learning experience really helped alleviate these moments because I was able to work through challenges face-to-face with the educators and fellow design students. Additionally, being able to exchange learnings and experiences with students from the Development & Data Science added to the whole learning experience (and we get to share in the struggles and success in person).
For anyone who has a background in more traditional design disciplines (like Graphic Design or Industrial Design), this program is actually a great opportunity to up-skill and develop new work relevant to the field, and build confidence in your creative abilities as you transfer your skills into a new problem space (especially if it has been a while since you last sat through a class). The educators are very up-to-date with their skills and can deliver the knowledge vey well (plus tie it back to relevant work situations). -

I recently completed a bootcamp, and I can confidently say it was a truly transformative and enriching experience. In just a few words, I would describe it as "great" and "educative." First and foremost, the quality of education I received during the bootcamp was exceptional. The instructors were not only knowledgeable but also passionate about the subjects they taught. They made complex concepts easy to understand, and their enthusiasm was contagious. This made the learning process enjoyable and engaging. Moreover, the practical aspect of the bootcamp was invaluable. I had the opportunity to apply what I learned through hands-on projects and real-world scenarios. I took this course to see if UX Design was something I could see myself doing as a career. Having zero tech experience at all, I was very overwhelmed by the information but persistent in getting as much as I could out of this experience. The teachers were key in making this happen. They were passionate about the material, empathetic to our challenges, and receptive to feedback when I needed a concept explained in a different way than what was being shown on the Powerpoint. I highly recommend an in-person class for the community building and group learning, and I am so appreciative that Brainstation sees the value in that and offers that option for most of their courses.
I think it would be beneficial for Brainstation to diversify the way they present their curriculum, which is why I gave that category 4 stars. The Powerpoint was fine in giving me the basic concepts, but I struggled to actually comprehend them- so much so that I finally asked the teacher to guide us through one of the activities, and found that far more helpful than anything we had done before. There are so many learning styles out there, and it would benefit Brainstation to offer their teachers various approaches for teaching the curriculum. -

I started in the cohort of June 2023- September 2023 and upon the first day of this program, my expectations of what it took to get into tech was eye-opening. Throughout the experience they continually reinforced how important it is to adopt a growth mindset. I saw many people join for a career change and for the most part we knew nothing of how the tech industry worked. The program picks up fast upon Week 3 and for the rest of the weeks onward it felt like a nonstop train of doing new projects and learning new skills. If you think you’ll be able to juggle doing outside work, THINK TWICE before signing up to this bootcamp because it does get heavy after a while.
You will learn very valuable skills from this program if you’re able to stick with it. Just to give you a taste of what you learned is HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React (front-end) and Node.js, Express.js, MySQL (back-end). You’ll be essentially a full-stack developer and learn which areas you’ll like the most to specialize later on.
There were many times where I felt very uncomfortable, lost, and overwhelmed with the amount of work being thrown at you and expectations to deliver on a deadline. However, you have support from your teaching assistants to help if you get stuck, resources from the bootcamp curriculum via their portal called Synapse, and your peers.
The biggest takeaway from this experience is to always be willing to ask for help if you need to and don’t suffer in silence. One way that the program facilitates this is through Slack, which you have the ability to connect with your fellow peers. You will get frustrated, you will want to quit, you’ll feel like an imposter but don’t let these feelings keep you from doing this experience because it is worth it.
One phrase my teacher used to say is to “trust the process” and I think that if you keep the growth mindset in mind you’ll surprise yourself at what you can do.
I highly recommend doing this bootcamp just for the unique environment to develop yourself as a person and if you’re willing to learn new things. -

The staff is amazing from the hostess in the front to the experienced instructors. I feel very confident with just the level I learned with Reinaldo. Learning the design principles, what makes a good UX design, etc boosted my company's ability to scale into the future. After this course I realized that UX is one of the biggest parts in making a quality product or event. I would most definitely recommend this course to everyone that wants to get into the field of UX. -

I had an amazing experience during my bootcamp in May. There were lots of ups and downs, but I managed to pass this course with no worries. Coming from fashion school, I was prepared for the level of intensity. I had to still do the things I loved doing outside of school to keep my sanity. Chris and Christina are top tier instructors, very knowledgeable and encouraging. Learning was fun and assignments weren't impossible, although they were very time consuming. This condenses years of studying into a quarter, which explains the workload. Annette is amazing with helping make ourselves hireable. She's super professional and good at what she does. This bootcamp is not for the faint of heart. You have to be tough mentally and lock in to the goal, which is earning a living to live the life you desire. -

I just completed BrainStation's AI course and it was an incredible experience! Over the past 5 weeks, I learned about everything from the basics of AI to understanding machine learning and deep learning. The course also covered exploring generative AI and LLM's, prompt engineering, and a future with AI.
With all the hype and fear out there about AI, I feel much more equipped to engage in the important discussions going on with a balanced approach.
Additionally, I gained a greater understanding of how data is used in various models, which helped me to more effectively use and play around with the generative AI tools that are out there. In fact, AI was even used to help me revise and optimize this very post!
After completing the final project, I feel confident that I could propose the use of generative AI tools within the workplace.
If you're interested in AI, I highly recommend checking out BrainStation's course.

Post Graduate Update: The BrainStation Bootcamp was intense. I liked the Google UX Course I took on Coursera, but nothing beats collaboration. At BSTN I got the chance to relearn UX concepts on a deeper level in a group setting with more critical feedback from instructors. We completed several documented design sprints and a hackathon. Additionally, my career coach at BSTN helped me identify my strengths, optimize my resume + Linkedin and held me accountable to consistently applying, giving new tips along the way. In the end, with persistence, some BSTN guidance, a stronger portfolio and a little luck, I landed a job that doubled my salary in a relative field. -

It was a pleasure to attend the BrainStation UX Course and get up-to-date with the current practices in the industry. The campus offer a great structure, with wide and tidy rooms, high-end equipment and confortable furniture. The classes cover the day-by-day tasks, duties and everything a designer must know to be well-succeeded, and the meetup events offer a great chance to expand networking. I'd definitely recommend. -

A detailed course with engaging sessions from the instructors. We deep-dived into all things product management and touched upon many things like MVP, building a prototype, working in agile environments and more. It would be great to dive into more details like segments on Agile and Product Launch, as they are a prerequisite for PM jobs. While job assistance was not a part of the course, it was good to have the instructors talk more about how to break into the industry. It would be helpful to collaborate with companies looking for part-time interns or co-op opportunities, so candidates can have the experience needed to land a job. All the exercises were very engaging and the instructors and learner-support groups were easily approachable and there to help at every stage. -

I loved my Product management part-time program, I wish there was more time to deep dive into the case studies and refine them. The instructors were very knowledgeable and knew their stuff. The class was also small sized so it was easy to get to know everyone. I recommend this course if you are deciding if you want to pivot into product management but after the program, there is a lot more work to be done before you are ready to tackle the industry. -

I definitely got what I needed out of this boot camp. The program went by very fast, as the instructors will caution you as early as the first lesson. I would definitely say to new students, if you want to get a big overview of the industry of Digital Marketing and all its disciplines, this is a great place to go. There is a LOT of subject matter, so the learning never stops once the course is done, and I would advise that you're probably going to benefit more if you're an older student looking to continue their education and gain more insight into marketing. -

I took BrainStation’s UX Design course and I really liked it! It was an intensive class, where we learned about all areas of UX Design in 8 classes! The instructors, Rana and Riley, were very nice, provided real-life examples in our lectures (which I found the most helpful), and were always open to help us with any inquiries. Our commitment in this class was to attend the lectures, and to do our project. Halfway through the course, we submitted our project strategies, and on the last day of class we submitted our final project.
I feel like the course was well organized, and I enjoyed the tangible examples that help us connect the lessons to the real world. I feel that when we were provided with real-life examples, insights and tips, it made the lectures more engaging, and helped my classmates and I understand the concepts more. Some of the concepts are a little bit more complex than others in this course, so it is crucial to provide examples and easy-to-follow points of reference when explaining these (which I feel the instructors became better at as the course progressed). I really liked that the instructors shared extra/optional resources at the end of every class with a summary of the lesson. I loved that the course load was very practical... we had our project to do and a final presentation that felt both very realistic and useful practice to apply the knowledge and to start building our portfolios. We had the chance to work on our projects by the end of almost each class, and to ask questions along the way.
Tips: continuing to explain complex concepts as simply as possible; continuing to show multiple examples; continuing to provide resources helpful to learn and to apply in real life; do not read slides, but explain the concepts in your own words as this connects more with students; and emphasizing the importance of practicing Figma earlier and learning with the program’s YouTube channel (maybe including a few basic and important tips for using Figma as a slide in the class). -

I think the Bootcamp had a nice structure with a lesson, live coding, and questions for each section that culminated in the final project. The professors did a great job of explaining the material even when it was a bit complicated and being patient to make sure everyone was following alone. However, since the class is very short and covers a wide range of material I think they should be more careful about who they are marketing the course towards and I feel like in general the marketing is a bit misleading. I was successful with the course because I was already familiar with a lot of the concepts from my studies at school. I think the material would be hard to follow for somebody brand new to data science and they would need to take a lot of time outside of the course to get the most out of it. Also, when signing up for the course I had two major questions for the team: What resources will I have in networking and career building/How much time should I expect to spend outside of the course hours weekly. The team that authorized my payment assured me I'd have ample opportunities for workshops and networking events and that I would only need to spend an hour outside of class each work working on the material. Both were misleading. While Brainstation does have some workshops and networking events they can be very niche and a lot of them were not related to data science at all. I think in my 8 weeks I did not see a single event relevant to the career field. I thought there could also be potentially time outside of class to meet with my professors about career building and next steps, however there was limited opportunity for that during the course. Finally, the final project alone is a good amount of work and while it should be and the exercises provided are very good I'm not sure why I was told I wouldn't have to spend too much time outside of class working on the material. Also a final quick note is some of the notebooks were inconsistent and some files were not the same. I think that should be ironed out. -

The instructors have past and current experience in the industry and were very patient when communicating the material. The projects allowed me to practice what I had learned in class and built well upon each other. The Product Management course I completed, was the first bit of training I have done in a while. The Brainstation environment is very vibrant, inspiring and collaborative which made my experience a very good one.
I feel gaining exposure to industry experts makes the whole learning experience more realistic, rather than hearing from academics in the area who don't have hands on work experience. -

For the past 10 weeks I have had the best class ever. As a college student I am use to the classroom experience and really moving through course material but a lot of the time having it not stick. However, the BrainStation Data Analytics course that I took here in Miami was hands-down the best professional learning class I've ever had. My teacher was phenomenal. Not only is she excellent at teaching but she has 20 years of experience that she brings to class room. Truly walking away with a knew skill set and insightful perspective into the field of data analytics. As a college student pursuing computer science and entrepreneurship as my majors, this certificate will be an excellent addition to my resume to help me stand out on my job applications. -
