About
University of North Florida Data Bootcamps offers 24-week, online Data Science and Data Analytics bootcamps. Both are self-paced and require approximately 15 hours of work per week. Bootcamp students also have the option to complete the bootcamp in a shorter time frame by putting in more hours weekly. All bootcamp students meet with industry expert mentors for video calls once per week and receive unlimited 1:1 calls with mentors throughout the bootcamp.
Data Science students will learn to build machine learning models to predict outcomes. Students will also learn Python data stack, data wrangling, how to tell stories with data, statistical inference, and concepts of machine learning including popular algorithms and clustering techniques.
The Data Analytics bootcamp curriculum is created in partnership with Microsoft. Bootcamp students will learn how to use data to present actionable insights, framed structure thinking, analyzing business problems, connecting data using SQL, how to communicate data analysis, and visualizing data with Python.
To apply to the Data Science bootcamp, applicants are required to have six months of active coding experience with a programming language, such as Python, R, Java, or C++. Data Science students must be comfortable with basic probability and descriptive statistics, including concepts like mean and median, standard deviation, distributions, and histograms.
To apply to the Data Analytics bootcamp, applicants are required to have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, at least two years of professional work experience working regularly with Microsoft Office, design or programming tools, and fluency in English (written and spoken), as determined by initial interactions with the University of North Florida Data Bootcamps admissions team.
All bootcamp students have the opportunity to work with a career coach to train for job interviews. Data Science and Data Analytics bootcamp students will complete two capstone projects focused on realistic data scenarios to use as portfolio pieces for future employers.
Bootcamp students will receive a certificate from the University of North Florida upon bootcamp completion. Payment options include month-to-month payment plans, financed tuition with a $500 deposit, or discounted tuition by paying the full amount in advance.
