SV Academy offers a unique approach to online studies. The program managers to the CEOs, career coaches to the alumni, everyone is completely devoted toward positioning you for success.
Although I have an extensive sales background, SVA enhanced soft skills that increased my sales. The classes force you to step outside of your comfort zone and find a creative approach to reach your desired goals. Since the program offers hands-on experience to test those new skillsets, the level of comfortability from student to sales professional is a seamless transition. It's not until you take a step back to think of your mindset on the first day do you realize how far you've come in the last 4-8 weeks (depending on if you're a full-time or part-time student).
It's definitely a certification program that is recommend anyone looking to change career paths to consider. -

Nearly a year later I still meet weekly with my cohort members, exchanging recipes, trading war stories, offering and receiving advice... I did not know that I could succeed in a business environment, let alone SaaS tech. SV Academy (gently) held my feet to the fire, coached me, prepared me, and let me shine by my own light. I would do it again, and again, and again—but I won't have to, because I already got my foot in the door and am a living, breathing, participant in the tech space... exactly like they promised.
While I started out as an SDR for a Medtech company in SoCal, I've now segued into copywriting and marketing for an EdTech firm in the Bay Area, and its' bliss. If you're competitive, persistent, and motivated: DO THIS PROGRAM! :) -

I was a member of the SDR53 cohort. Someone whom has some 5 years of work experience within the legal and sales field. I found that this opportunity was something that provided great resolve and building great foundational blocks for the role ahead. I find it be a great bootcamp that has the resources for you to move into the new level. I am more than excited to be completing this program. It has given empowerment of softskills, hardskills, metrics, conversations and community. I am appreciative of the opportunity as I tackle my next steps into applying for my new role within the technology industry. -

I entered this course with a little bit of doubt but as soon as I finished the first week with a hard-working mentality, everything started to be clear to me. This program has taught and prepared me so much for the future roles in the tech industry, and I will continue to recommend this course to anyone. -

SV Academy gave me an opportunity to change my life, but it is not for everyone. It is a rigorous, fast-paced, and trying course. It is not the place where you will coast to the end. With that being said, if you are looking for a community that will support you, push you, and connects with you, SV Academy is where you want to be.
The course gives you a taste of what the start-up world can be like, providing you with tools and experience so you can get your foot in the door. Along with a supportive and inclusive community to help you along your journey, SV Academy puts you out of your comfort zone so you can grow quickly. The program managers are friendly and knowledgeable. There is an emphasis on a holistic approach to learning including emotional intelligence, domain expertise, and self-care so learners are as well-rounded and prepared as possible. My biggest takeaway was leveraging how to make connections and my professional brand. For someone else, it may be tech guidance and for another, it could be EQ coaching. The point is: there is a lot to learn that impacts each individual differently, but it helps them be their best selves.
What you get out of SVA, is what you put into it. There are hundreds of graduates that are ready to connect and share their learnings with you. If you are ready to make a change in your life and are ready to jump in with both feet, you will succeed.
Pros:
- Community
- Trainings
- Carreer Coaches and Mentors
- Tough
- Not for the faint of heart
Cons: (If you can call it cons)
- Requires Drive
- Favors independence
- Favors the prepare -

Amazing experience at SV Academy! The way the course is structured is similar to that of an SDR role. Everything they said would happen from interviewing to the role itself happened and I was fully prepared for it all. Thanks you SV! -

Enrolling in SV Academy provided me with intensive training to becoming an SDR, instructed on how to effectively utilize a tech stack, offered exceptional professional development, and created an opportunity to experience life as an SDR with an internship with Talend, the industry leader in data integration. On top of that SV Academy helped successfully place me into a position at an exciting company. This is easily one of the best decisions I have ever made. -

Customer Success Cohort 2

I'm so happy that I took a chance and stuck with this program. I was laid off at the beginning of the pandemic in early 2020 and was unsure how to find my next job. I knew that I wanted to transition into tech but had no idea where to focus my efforts. I did a few coding courses online, some HTML5 and CSS, but I was floundering. I started to see ads for SV Academy and finally clicked on one. I was a little bit suspicious but found enough reviews online that felt genuine. I knew the coursework would be rigorous from what everyone was saying. After researching and learning about SV's new Customer Success fellowship, I felt like I'd found what I was looking for. I applied to the program and was accepted on a full scholarship!
The program is intense, but the community is so amazing and supportive. I have no doubt that they are a large part of what helped me succeed. I was able to Slack my cohorts and ask them for feedback on assignments or help to better understand our projects. This type of environment is beneficial when you're coming into a new field with no prior experience. I love my cohort and still keep in contact with a lot of the members. I stuck with the program and am happy to say I was awarded an eight-week paid internship that was recently converted to full-time!
Pros:- Community
- Mentorship
- Career Coaches and post-program guidance
- Professional knowledge base
- SV is open to feedback which is really nice. It feels like you're able to contribute to the future of the program.
Cons:- None really. I was a member of the 2nd CS You cohort so the program was still settling in. However, I feel that in a few more cohorts, things will be seamless.

Life changing. Learned how to get my feet wet in the tech industry, how to interview, how to be mindful and 100% responsible, and how to become part of a community of learners that continuously grows. Basically, an amount of hard and soft skills taught in a month that can be worth more than any other degree. -

I completed the 1 month Full-Time program. This turned out to be the best career decision I've ever made. Not only does SV Academy guide you from learning the in's and out's of the role, to helping you throughout the interview process, but they provide you with a mentor for a year after landing your first job. I've been working with Kate Godard for several months and she has been incredible in keeping me accountable while assisting in my development as an SDR and as a person! Give her a raise! -

SV Academy changed my life. I was a part of the first cohort of the CS YOU Program which taught me the basics of customer success, how to market myself in SaaS, and what to expect from a start-up environment. The best part about the CS YOU program is that they didn't discount my previous experience and instead guided me into recreating my professional identity to fit a whole new field. SV Academy will give you everything you need to succeed within the field of Customer Success. -

SV Academy trains you for an SDR role. All of the teachers have real-world experience in the role they can answer any questions you may have. SV Academy is VERY time-consuming don't sign up if you are not ready to commit to it and be motivated enough to do numerous assignments. Prepares you very well for the SDR role gives you the fundamentals, best practices within the role, interview practice to actually land a job, and real-world experience with an internship to actually build up your resume and have genuine experience. -

If you’re reading this you may be wondering if SV Academy is legitimate just as I did when applying. First off, I landed a job 2 weeks after graduating and 1 week after I start interviews. I didn’t start interviews until a week after graduating for personal reasons, and still landed a job immediately. I had recruiters blowing up my email and personally never had to apply for a job because the recruiters that found me through SV already had a profile from their database which was great. They push you to be proactive and apply, and in my case it just wasn’t necessary, but everyone’s experience is different. SV is an amazing support system, network, and opportunity for learning literally everything you need to succeed in SaaS. I had over 5 years of corporate sales internship experience and applied to tech sales jobs without success because I lacked the proper industry experience/ knowledge. The work is extremely intense so if you aren’t determined to succeed you will struggle, but that’s true for being an SDR as well. The sense of community is unparalleled I can’t emphasize this enough. If you make it to the finish line I guarantee it means you have what it takes to succeed in this industry. It’s a major test/ builder of mental strength and will. You will know if this is the career path for you by the end of the first week! It’s so worth it! -

Applying to SV Academy was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Their curriculum familiarizes you with the SDR role while challenging you to develop a professional growth mindset, and I was highly impressed by the caliber of the fellows in my cohort as well as the staff and instructors. SVA connects you to a network of people who genuinely care about your professional development and they will get you a foot in the door at exciting tech startups! Beyond that, they are simply a great team of people who really do care about helping you become your best! -

When I initially saw the post for SV Academy on LinkedIn I thought it was too good to be true. After connecting with a few fellows through LinkedIn I decided this was the right path to kick start my sales career.
This program will demand another level of you, but if you are dedicated to learning the processes you will reap the benefits of a rewarding career in tech sales.
The curriculum is designed to give you hands on experience with industry leaders! -

I took this fellowship very seriously and landed a job as an SDR in Tech. They delivered on their promise from A-Z. This fellow goes from training material, interview prep, then it is YOUR job to execute on the interviews.
I wish we went over Salesforce a bit more, but you'll pick it up once you work at your company. (Minor detail)

Finding and being accepted into the SV Academy Fellowship has been life-altering in the best possible way. I was stuck in a comfort zone (aka - a rut) for some years with the jobs that I was used to doing. I have lived in Silicon Valley for over a decade now and had never felt like I could actually be part of it career-wise. Breaking into the tech sector, even as an entry-level SDR, is NOT easy. I'm so thankful that a couple of great minds came together and saw the opportunity to help open that door for people like me.
The program is very intelligently designed with very practical assignments and educational material. They have coaching for every arena pertinent to the endeavor. And, they follow-through and deliver on their promise all the way. That being said, it is up to YOU to put in the work. They won't hold your hand or check on you about late assignments. The threshold for lack of effort is low, but their employer network is counting on them to deliver the best, ready-to-go SDR's around.
Having recently graduated, I've already received two job offers and have officially accepted. I'm very excited about the future and the continued support through the SV Academy Community over the next 12 months!

I had a great experience with SV Academy. I thought it was too good to be true: a free bootcamp with guaranteed placement at a top startup in NYC. After asking around my personal network I decided to take a shot and it was the best decision that I've ever made. Within two months I was placed at a startup and tripled my salary overnight. Two things especially contributed to this: they had great interview prep with one on one coaching and they were able to leverage their network to get me in front of two companies a week until I was placed. The interview process was hands down the toughest I have ever been through and I thought very highly of my interview skills going into the program. You will be expected to demonstrate you can perform the duties of an SDR: creative prospecting, conduct a discovery call, explain how you work with a sales stack etc. You will have the experience of the training to draw from.
There are a few things to keep in mind: one is that while the program is remote there are some parts of the program that are not asynchronous. If you live on the East Coast, expect to make some adjustments as the times are usually based on PST. The staff was great about working with me on that. Another thing is the time committment- if you work full time any "free time" you have will be occupied by this program. Be sure to submit your assignments on time. If you keep up with your end of the bargain they will set you up nicely.

SVA has helped me to break into tech and position myself in a closing role for a SaaS company in SF!I was accepted to be part of the SVA fellowship in December 2018 while being based in Peru. During the training phase (first three months of the program) I learned everything that I needed to be successful as an SDR: using empathy and active listening to engage in meaningful conversations with prospects, how to approach a cold call, write creative emails, how to take rejection on the head, develop my own workflow, and understand deeply the SDR role, among others.
Once the initial training and internship were over I moved to SF to start the interviewing process. During my first week in the Bay Area, I interviewed with 5 high potential start-ups that offered technology solutions aligned with my experience (business and data analysis). After two weeks of phone calls and on-site interviews, I was extended an offer by Alation (creators and leaders in the enterprise data catalog market), a top tier fast-growth start-up. All of the anxious feelings that I had (moving to a new country without a job) were replaced by reassurance, knowing I had a great organization that cared about my professional growth and were true to their promise.
After several months of hard work at Alation as an SDR, with more than a couple of thousand cold calls and more than many successfully qualified prospects under my belt, the second milestone in my career materialized. I transitioned to a closing role as an account executive for another enterprise SaaS start-up in the Bay Area. All of these events unfolded in a quasi-celestial manner all thanks to the support from SVA coaches, mentors, the network of partners, fellows and founders Rahim and Joel. Without them, this would not have happened.
In summary, it has been a crazy ride… moving from Peru to San Francisco, getting my first job offer within two weeks of relocating to the US, and signing for an AE role within a year. -

SV Academy Honest review

100% Honest Review of SVA. Joining was one of the biggest mistakes of my life, the most unethical organization with predatory loan practices. They try to make you feel special by claiming they only accept 2% of candidates when the truth is they will take anyone with a heartbeat and can read basic English. They prey on people's desperation for a new job and sales pitch of making big bucks in the tech industry, then leave you with 10k in debt, and in the worst situation then you start, they say culty things like just trust the process. The reality is that 1% of graduates might get a job in the tech industry while the rest end up getting jobs in their old careers and are left with 10k in debt. People stay in hopes of getting jobs with their partners but it’s all the biggest scam. They only market success stories and are professional digital marketers running the biggest MLM scam. Once you're done with the course they force you to leave a good review, ( All positive reviews are fake ) they then offer you a $750.00 affiliate program for every new recruit to get you to pay down your 10k debt that you will be paying off for the next two years, Rahim and his wife could care less for helping underserved communities and only care about their bottom line and please their investors. The course is the biggest joke and all of the information can be found online for free, they lack follow through on their word and leave you in worse financial ruins than you started. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. If I can save anyone the heartache of joining this corrupt unethical bootcamp, I've done good. -

I think this program is amazing. It helps walk you through the entire tech stack and all the tech tools you could think of for a beginner or entry-level position breaking into the tech industry (Salesforce, Salesloft, Gainsight, Slack, etc). There is a lot of handholding in the beginning of the program and once you're ready to start your internship, you feel comfortable enough to be left off on your own to navigate the internship and succeed! Also, I love how there is an Employer's network that you are placed into once you graduate to help guarantee that you will get a job following graduation. This program increased my confidence for interviews and presentations because of our two main courses: Interviewing with Confidence and Emotional Intelligence. Can't thank SV academy enough! -

SVA worth it? Yes!
My time at SVA was as a part of the full-time SDR program, only 4 weeks long. However, in my short time there I gained and refined valuable skills; and their program doesn't just end at the 4-week mark, like so many programs do. They have provided me with continuing support while looking for employment. -
