Best place if you are looking to transition to Product Management

Can't believe i am giving review right now as it wasn't long ago it was a dream for me to become a PM. I have made it now. The journey was
full of lessons and on each critical moment PG coaches and peers were there with me to support. I was all over the place and applying without any structure earlier. After joining PG, I became more focused and structured in applying. PG provided amazing guidance in preparing for each round of interview and because of that i am here now with a PM offer. Thanks PG family for all support and guidance.

Worth It, from an Existing Product Manager
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
I am a product manager in the Bay Area and until this week, I had been at the same company for over 8 years. I joined PG not to transfer into product, but to develop the skills I needed to continue in my career. I was skeptical about joining Product Gym at first, but honestly it was worth it. Product Gym helped me identify where I was falling short in interviews, understand how to market myself, and gain the confidence I needed to land a job offer.
Product Gym is a very appropriate name. Just like a gym, the results you get are directly related to the work you put in. During my interviewing journey there were many dark moments. Because I had been at the same place for so long, I was worried that my experience was so specific to the needs of the company I worked at, that other companies would only see me for what I had done rather than what I could offer. Hours of preparation and practice for each interview seemed to lead to rejection every time. It was demoralizing. My commitment to PG’s process and the resources PG offers helped me stay on track, get past those negative thoughts, learn from my mistakes, and just keep on applying. After about a month and a half I received my first offer.
If you are an existing product manager like me and you are feeling stuck in your career, Product Gym can give you motivation and the tools you need to find your next PM job. Their process worked for me, and if PG accepts you, it WILL work for you too. -

Product Manager

Product Gym has been the best career decision that I have made thus far. I come from a non-traditional background, having been in education (professor, administratrator) for most of my nearly 20 year career. On top of that, I’ve been working abroad in Asia for over ten years. However, I always dreamed of a full-time career in tech back home in the States. About a year ago, I stumbled upon the role of product manager and realized that my skill set would match the role. I first started my PM journey by enrolling in a different certification program. Though I had dabbled in a couple startups before, I didn’t know much about how to be a PM nor did I realize how competitive it would be to get a PM job, so I thought that program would help. Unfortunately, when I completed the program, I still lacked confidence and had no idea how to actually get a job. Then I stumbled across Product Gym through some YouTube videos that I thought were really helpful. Though skeptical that the program would work for someone with my background, I went ahead and signed up. There is no question that PG asks a lot of their members. You have to work hard for what you want. But PG gives incredibly practical, concrete advice that actually produces results. After working with the coaches, my resume now actually opens the door to interviews. And I know that my interview skills have improved significantly through everything I learned in the PG classes and through the coaching calls. I’ve been effective in getting to the final rounds of PM interviews and finally just landed an offer. What seemed like a daunting goal as an aspiring PM has become a reality. Thank you so much, PG! -

TRUST THE PROCESS! With the help of Product Gym, I transitioned from the healthcare industry to a position as a product manager in the tech sector with a double salary. Anyone looking for a new opportunity or transitioning into PM roles should consider Product Gym. I was able to land 2 job offers through their process. As long as you put in the effort, they have wonderful feedback mechanisms and an awesome community that will help you improve your interviewing skills. -

Best Decision I've Made

Product Gym is one of the best decisions I have made. It’s the perfect package for PMs who really want to take their career to the next level. The program is very comprehensive and provides you with deep knowledge on how to ace PM interviews end-to-end and has all that nuance you’ll never find online or from a book. On top of that, there’s a very active community of PM mentors, industry veterans and helpful peers that'll answer all your questions. This is not just a program that'll get you your next job but really something that’ll benefit your career as a whole in the years to come. The program is also constantly updated to fit new PM trends. -

Love PG!

A few months ago, I wanted to transition into tech, and/or fintech, but I wasn't really sure how to. A few friends referred me to chat with Rich, the Co-Founder of PG, who instantly identified all the painpoints I felt in my current role. I was working a tireless job in sales, and I didn't know how to pivot. Richard the Co-Founder alleviated all my fears by letting me know, he had already helped thousands of students seamlessly transition from various backgrounds. He also let me know that a lot of my sales skill sets were transferrable and even necessary for the Product role.
A few weeks into the program, I was really amazed at how effective the PG-guided resume was. I was literally getting 10-20 interviews a week.. at my peak, I had 11 interviews in 1 day...!! I was really amazed at such results!! Although it was difficult, I felt like I was on to something... I simply trusted the process. As time went by, I really felt like I started to get a hang of what the heck these interviewers wanted to hear from me.. Incrementally, I came to see the importance of working with coaches, and colleagues to get the criticism to make iterative improvements. It wasn't easy hearing someone tell me how to improve this or that, but IT WORKS.
After mastering the resume, then the R1, R2/R3 interviews, I started to really struggle with the Case Study component... I was losing a lot of hope.. as I felt like yet again, I had no idea what to do... but I kept pushing with the help and guidance of the coaches.. I kept watching the class videos (don't feel embarrassed to watch the videos over and over again!) and attended the coaching calls. I truly believe, you just have to keep practicing, iterating. Finally, after my 5th case study (yes with 5 different companies..!), I felt like I started to get a hang of this... and I nailed the 6th case study with the help of the coaches.
With the help of Product Gym, I accepted an offer to move forward with a Fintech company as a Product Manager for the first time in my life. As a salesgirl with zero background in tech!!!! I am SOOOO happy to be walking away from my old life, and I am totally looking forward to an amazing new career in Fintech!!! It's so funny looking back bc it's exactly what I wanted... although I had NO idea HOW I was gonna get there, I just had some gut feeling that this will work. I'm glad I trusted Rich and followed his program. I've got to say, without PG, none of my dreams would have been possible... I'm SOOO grateful I discovered this program, and I wish everyone else on the platform to continue pushing forward despite any frustrations they feel. I would highly recommend the program to any friend, family member, or anyone struggling with a career they feel dissatisfied in. Book a free consultation with Rich and talk about your fears, doubts, and concerns, and he will walk you through all that. -

Product Gym is a fantastic service for anybody who is really motivated to get a foot in the door to a career in product management, regardless of background. The program is highly oriented toward practical steps a person can immediately take to land a coveted product role. Much of the curriculum focuses on job hunting tactics and interviewing preparation. There are also short courses that broadly cover topics related to a career in product management, such as feature prioritization and A/B testing, which while useful don’t go very deep into a given topic. -

I come from a data analytics background and PG really equipped me well to transition to product management. About two months ago I had no clue how to make the career pivot - even thought about taking another product analyst position, working on a lateral role for two more years to wait for internal promotion...
Fortunately I stumbled upon product gym, like many of you, and spent a week reading through their testimonial page, before I signed up as a member. The high quality of teaching, the amount of resources, community/peer support and inspiration was beyond expectation. 50 days after becoming a member, I received my first offer as a Product Manager from a SaaS company. I can't thank PG enough for everything I've gained here, and I know the journey is just starting.
Congrats to you (thinking about) making one of the best investment for your future, and best of luck! -

Product Gym has been an excellent resource in helping me land my product management job. The online classes were an excellent resource to build my PM skills. The coaches were extremely responsive to answering my questions, helping me refine my case studies, and providing me with good books to read to improve my PM knowledge. Without the resume help that is provided at the outset of the course I would not have gotten the interview requests from companies in my PM job search. I would not have landed my PM job without the help of Product Gym. -

I've used the PG materials and member portal a second time this year during my current job search, when I'm up leveling my PM role to more senior roles. I've found the interview prep and offer negotiation materials just as useful as the first time around, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how much "muscle memory" I had from going through the program about year ago. The method works and I highly recommend it.
Pros: Clear, actionable advice for every step of the interview and offer process. Very responsive team. -

I joined Product Gym, started the full program with branding. It is amazing, you get an in-depth review of your resume, cover letter and LinkedIn. They look through everything and after an iterative process only approve the best version of the documents. Trust them on this process because it has immediate results.
I started applying on 01/28/2022, I had an offer in hand for a target company and city by 02/18/2022. Before PG I wasn't even getting a callback. So branding is worth it!
Next is skill training, PG has weekly twice coaching calls and weekly twice classes to get you up to speed for interview prep and even on the job skill development.
Their focus though is specifically to get you hired and get you real PM experience, so that's how the program is designed to get interviews, practice, and get hired.
Lastly, it's a lifelong membership with the PG community. You can come back again for your 2nd, 3rd ... and so on jobs, and relearn or get updated on the newest interviewing skills and trends. You have a high level of interaction with members often materializing in a strong sense of community.
I highly recommend PG! -

Product Gym completely accelerated my transition into product management. Their expertise, coaching, classes, forums, and community help me land my PM role. It is a gym, not a spa. You definitely get out what you put in, but they are guiding you every step of the way. They do a good balance of teaching concepts and interview coaching. Everything thought is applied to the interview process in order to become a great candidate. -

Product Gym process just works. This is the only program out there that will help you from scratch. When I say from scratch it means it starts with the mindset and not resume. After joining Product gym, I realized how important mindset could be for getting a product job. Going in the right mindset sets the stage on how to even think around bullet points you would put on your resume. Product gym helped me all along in the process – resume, applying at scale, recruiter phone screening, hiring manager round, stakeholder interview round and the case studies. I began my Product Gym experience when I was sure I wanted to transition to a product manager, but wasn’t sure how to get attention from my ideal companies and industries. Since joining PG and the community, and following it’s path - I’ve received multiple offers thanks to the course content, resume reviews, and approach. I’ve gained a sense of confidence and assurance in my ability to interview and be seen as a capable product manager as well. In addition, I’ll still have access to the resources after I land my next role - which I know will be very helpful in the future. -

A (hefty) fee that pays for itself

What ProductGym does, is enable you to get a job as a PM. Becoming a good Pm is not what they do. They don’t sell diplomas and classes. What they give you, is a sure path to a PM job even with no experience, and if you’re experienced, a path to a better job. They enable you to go get the job. Period. I’m an experienced PM who held leadership positions, but never did more than a handful of interviews in the course of my career to get there. Needless to say, for a role in a larger company, I needed some support. How they helped me:- Got my CV in shape
- Taught me to apply to 30 companies. For a fee, they even apply for you. Talk about time optimization.
- Got me 10-20 interviews per week, over the course of 1 to 2 months.
- Helped me easily breeze through round 1.
- Helped me figure out how to handle R2 and subsequent ones.
- Helped me navigate offer stage, and negotiate through it.
Their fee isn’t cheap. That said, it paid for itself many times over for me, as I got a job faster, with more seniority, at a higher comp, and they helped me negotiate better comp as well. -

PG was there to mentor, guide and hold my hand in the long and arduous journey of becoming a product person. Resume review, personal branding, well-structured courses, case studies, daily coaching sessions are great building blocks that provided the launchpad for me to gain traction in the multiple rounds of interviews I had. The PG community is the biggest motivator and driver that never lets you give up in the entire process. -

The magic of product Gym is real.
This is one of the things / products that sounds too good to be true. But I decided reach out to understand more about how it works and what they offer.
In my whole career I maybe got 10-15 requests for interviews? Since I built my resume with product gym I got over 300 requests in 60 days, it got so overwhelming (A good problem)
Their community culture they built is super useful to brings all people that shares the same interest together and discuss their passion and goals. The courses they provide are super simple to understand and it’s very useful not only to succeed in an interview and land an offer but to have the mind set of a PM and execute the job accordingly.
Product Gym is one of the best decisions I made in my life.
I have landed multiple offers now and this is not the end, it’s just the beginning. I love the fact that I am part of this gym for life.

Product Gym Review
Pros:
1. Resume
2. Clearing R1s, R2s & case study rounds.
3. Good Feedback
4. Community is helpful
Cons:
1. Expensive.
2. Some of the content of the lectures could be improved. Some content is unnecessarily long & it would be good to have a list of questions that a person could be asked on the subject at the end of the lectures.
Summary: Overall it is a good product bootcamp -

PG is The Best Bootcamp if you are looking for Product Management careers. They are very professional & created relevant content. The Community of members are All very supportive, PG Coaches are also very prompt with their feedback. Loved their classes from very successful Product Leaders & learnt a lot from them. Their courses are not only helpful for first time PMs but also for experienced PMs. but still learnt so much about the interview process & finer aspects that really . I’ve been working in Tech industry for over a decade been in Management Consulting but I was not getting much Product Manager interviews but after following the PG curriculum I’m actually averaging 2 interviews a day (Actually I’m pushing the interviews as I can’t take more being in a full time Assignment). The Process Simply Works.. If you’re willing to grind it out by following the Process recommended to The T this is the best place to be for Product Managers.
Loved their statement “Product Gym is Not a Spa but a GYM”.

As an experienced product manager, I was skeptical about the value that Product Gym could actually provide me. I was looking to specifically break into a top-tier product company after struggling in the past to make that happen on my own. After 3 weeks in the program, it all began to click. The combination of courses, coaching, approach to interviewing, and a network of product managers supporting you along the way will help to make you a much more confident interviewer. The mindset shift from scarcity to abundance, put me in the driver's seat in my interviews with those top-tier companies. I just got my first offer after 2 months in the program and am expecting more to come. -

Product Gym was by far the best career investment I’ve ever made. Yes, it does come with a a hefty price tag from the onset, but believe me, it more than pays off. I landed a position with a $45K salary increase within three months of joining the program. Before PG, I was a hot mess when it came to the interviewing process. Even though I am a senior-level leader, I was not able to articulate myself or craft a well enough story to reflect my level of experience. PG guided me through the process, gave me extensive training and the tools needed in order for me to overcome that hurdle. In the end, I had a total of 3 job offers to choose from, and landed my dream job that aligned perfectly with my experience. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough! -

PG is probably the only course I’ve taken/joined that actually provided RESULTS! As someone who worked in product, I was a bit hesitant especially with the price-tag attached but I am so glad I did! I’ve only started applying about a month and a half ago, and already hit 3 offers. The community is amazing and helps so much along the process, and the videos were definitely helpful. Before PG, I was getting around 1-2 rounds of interviews with PG in just a month I’ve gotten offers. This program works and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Put in the work and you’ll be working in Product in no time!
Pros
Intelligent instructors
Friendly staff
Helpful community
Better than any other Product course (I’ve taken multiple)
Cons
No in person support but due to COVID, this should change soon. We did have a meetup recently, I couldn’t make it though.

Product gym was probably the best decision I made as I try to move my career from Asia to the United States. I found the instructors very knowledgeable and helpful, especially in helping you understand what questions you might encounter in your product management interviews. Not to mention that every instructor are all seasoned product veteran with plenty of relevant experience.
On the other hand, one aspect that separates this program from others is the supportive community. Outside of the typical coaching calls and classes, you get to connect with members individually through the weekly casual calls. Everyone that I met was super supportive and willing to share their experience and struggles.
The program itself is not easy. You would definitely feel overwhelmed and sometimes question the whole process. You just have to believe in it! At the peak of my application process, I was receiving 15-25 interviews per week. From there, I was able to hone my interview skills and eventually land my first offer in 8 weeks.
To improve: To have a databank of the Top 20 most asked PM interview questions PER interview round and have a guide on how to best answer them. Moreover, it would also be great to have a list of questions you could ask interviewers PER interview round. -

Trust the process

I will be the first to admit that I am a cynic and a skeptic to the core. I am also not a natural interviewer. I focus on the results I produce more than selling myself and felt the consequences of that when I was running into wall after wall in interviewing for PM jobs… before Product Gym. I'm in Nashville TN and currently handle Product Management and 2 additional roles for a fintech product. Needless to say I'm not getting properly compensated for the extra responsibilities and value I feel I bring to the org. So it was time for me to search for a new job.
My introduction to PG was what I could only describe as divine intervention. I was reading through a twitter thread about how job hunting sucks and after ending up down the rabbit hole of a sub-comment of a sub-comment, I saw a user say that her boyfriend was experiencing setbacks with interviewing but had recently got a job as a PM after going through a program called Product Gym. I knew this wouldn't be a paid ambassador or marketing troll considering how deep into the thread it was so I decided to check it out.
Trust me when I say I researched PG inside and out for a week trying to find everything - the good and especially the bad! I couldn't find anything negative so I decided to make the consultation call. After the call I researched for another week and got advice from my wise counsel. After I bombed a couple of PM interviews terribly, I decided that if I was going to make it to the next level (of life), I would have to make some investments into myself (oh yeah.. I'm frugal too).
So I joined PG with my skeptical receptors still up… started the course materials they provided and started watching the recorded webinars since I joined in the middle of the cohort. The process is rough. Its supposed to be. If you think you deserve a middle mgmt job with a 6 figure salary, those aren't just handed out like voting stickers unfortunately - for most of us at least. And I struggled (and still do to a certain extent.. just not as much) because as I mentioned, interviewing is not one of my strengths.
I finally started applying and getting my first rounds and I struggled (and still do to a certain extent.. just not as much) because as I mentioned, interviewing is not one of my strengths. With me not progressing like I wanted to, I started to get down on myself and ask was it worth it. But then after about a month in I noticed something… even though I was struggling with interviewing, it changed my life at work drastically. It was like the stadium lights came on and I could see everything clearly. I immediately began applying the frameworks, processes and theories I learned in their courses at work and realized that previously even though I was managing our product, I was not being a Product Manager. I guess I'm an experiential learner because as I began applying the lessons in real life I started to see my interview results progress. Let me tell you, when I got my first offer I almost had a heart attack. Being able to see the end result after long nights, constant moments of self doubt, packed calendars of endless interviews is a revelatory reminder to… TRUST THE PROCESS. If you work the program faithfully it'll work for you. -

Instrumental in landing an offer

Before starting with Product Gym I was getting rejected for PM internships and now have landed an offer and made it to final round interviews for senior level positions. My background was initially in product design and before working with Product Gym I was really struggling to pitch myself as a product manager and effectively show that I have the skills for a product management position. The highest value for me has been the branding update and learning how to pitch myself to tell effective stories in the interview process. Some of the skill based courses were also really helpful to brush up on certain aspects of a PM job that I didn't have as much experience in. Overall I highly recommend Product Gym and I don't think I could've made the progress that I have without them. -

OMG… where do I start from with how product gym has helped my career trajectory. I have being trying to transition into product management for over a year now, I took some bootcamps and online product management courses but all they offered was just educating you about what product management is whiles following a strict curriculum. Product Gym gave me what I was lacking in my approach to branding my resume and presenting myself as an already seasoned PM. If you are still in doubts about joining PG, please go ahead and make that life changing decision to start the process as it WORKS. I went from not getting a single recruiter call for 3 months of doing it on my own to averaging 4-6 interviews every week. You have to put in a lot of work to see results and I tell you it is a lot of work, but you will be glad you did. Thank you PG for setting up this program especially for aspiring PMs like myself who was able to get my PM role through this program.
