Great Program for the Price!
I chose Nucamp for the program's flexibility to schedule my learning during the week and the structure of the Saturday workshops. My instructor was knowledgeable and helpful. I'm excited about my progress during the class and the tools provided to advance my skills. This is a phenomenal option, especially when you are on a tight budget. -

Very rigorous! you will learn a lot and the resources are near-infinite. The key is to create plenty of time for learning and absorbing all the information. -

Web-Fundamentals Course
I choose Nu Camp because it gives me the time and flexibility to work on learning a new field of work. It has been very informational and challenging in the best way possible. I feel more accomplished then when I was searching the web for ways to self-teach myself because of the additional resources and help form a teacher. -

I love that the course was at my own pace on my own time. I love that if I needed help there's a channel with my cohort and my specific class so there's more than one avenue for seeking help. But what I really like is the way everything was broken down into smaller chunks. There are still things I need to revisit but......overall I have a better understanding of coding than i did when I started the camp. -

I like the bottom rung price and the flexibility of the program. Something comes up? K. Whatever, just push it back for a little bit of extra dough. Still more affordable than the other bootcamps and you're still going to get a ton of useful resources to hang on to for later. The money is worth the time investment alone. It might take weeks or months longer than this bootcamp to pick through the web to find all these resources they set you up with in a nice neat package. 💯 -

Used class to spread anti-vaxxer propaganda
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
Instructors used the class to spread anti-vaxxer propaganda, starting a heated discussion.
This was supposed to be a coding workshop, and a discussion like this does not create a positive learning environment.
Esp. if the instructor displays ignorance towards scientific research and further instigates the discussion instead of resolving it.
I expect instructors to be professional and objective and help students progress in their learning.Ludo Fourrage of Nucamp

Hello, you are absolutely right that this conversation had no place during the coding workshop. We would need your help to follow-up on the incident. Could you please email studentadmin@nucamp.co with additional details? Alternatively you could file a code of conduct report - the link is listed in your course. The code of conduct working group would investigate and take all the necessary actions.
Very sorry for this experience and looking forward to investigate further with your help. -

Review of Nucamp
After looking at many bootcamps, and trying one and leaving, I came across Nucamp. First came here because of the price point of the bootcamp and then stayed because of the instructor and the content. The way the bootcamp is set up with the lecture, videos, and the instructor led workshops kept me engaged and wanting to learn more. So glad I found Nucamp! -

I really liked the format of learning on my own, then having the recap on Saturdays that cleared up any questions. The pairing up and working with another student to do the assignment was also a great learning experience, I learned a lot from other students that way. Chase was a great teacher, very straightforward, very knowledgeable and always helpful. I would definitely recommend this class to others. -

I chose Nucamp because I wanted to make a career switch during the pandemic but also needed to be with my son in school. I chose Nucamp due to the flexibile schedule but interactive course. The teachers have been very professional and incredibly supportive. You see a lot of the leads interacting with students on Slack.
However, this was also Nucamps biggest weakness. It is a bit difficult to forge bonds with your fellow cohorts and it will take a lot of work to do so. There are no out of office hours with your instructor, so the former is actually VERY crucial to your success. As the instructors are part time, they are under no obligation to schedule additional hours with you and any time outside of the workshops is their gift to you.
This was okay for the first 3 weeks but the last week of the DOM slaughtered us. There was a lot of material to cover and very little support for it. I felt as though we needed a better fundamental understanding of Javascript before we jumped into the DOM.
I very much enjoyed my instructor, he was funny, encouraging, and gave us the resources to find the answer isntead of the answer itself. This is invaluable. especially going into this career path. He did not just teach us the material but how to problem solve. -

Great
I chose Nucamp because I heard good things about them from the reviews and friends who attended it before. What I liked the most is that the teachers are knowledgeable and provide various resources that helped the subject that we are studying on. -

On My Way to Fullstack!!

I chose Nucamp because I am 34 and right in the middle of life, It just simply isn't feasable for me to quit my job and attend a 12 week bootcamp. Right now I am a baker, it's a decent job that takes care of all my needs but it's pretty much the same routine everyday. I am looking for a career that is challenging and interesting so I started to explore coding, and I got hooked! I very quickly started spending all my free time tying to learn new things about coding and even played around with codepen and making silly little fake webpages. That's when I started looking into how I could take this coding passion and integrate it into my life and make some money doing it. Every bootcamp I researched was super intense and required me to pretty much quit my job and gain massive debt to do. Like I said my job is decent and I live comfortably with no debt, so nothing about those requirements were even remotely appealing. It actually almost turned me away from pursuing coding professionally, I just figured it would be something I enjoyed doing in my free time. I then found freecodecamp and working through that I started searching again for bootcamps. Finally I found Nucamp, and this was something that was totally doable. Nucamp offers a schedule that only required me to do actual school work for a total of 20 hours a week, which I was already doing and more. It also offers this at a price that doesn't send me into massive debt to loom over my head for the next however many years of my life. All in all, Nucamp is my Goldie Locks, just right!! I have only taken the intro so far but I'm enrolling in the fullstack next month. Just in the intro class I have gained knowledge, real life coding experience, teambuilding, encouragement, a community of like minded people, and even some friends to share the journey with. I am excited for the future that Nucamp is going to help me achieve. -

I chose Nucamp because of its affordability compared to other coding bootcamps. What I liked most is the flexibility it has in being able to work the coursework around your every day life errands.
I also like that it provides additional resources to further explain topics. -

I chose the price, the extensive programs that are used more frequently as I understood it from my tutors in the past and my friend who is a web developer for a large company. I also chose it, so I can sit in class, but alas Covid-19 decided to be a homewrecker and mess up 2020. I compared your company to Savvy Coders in Chattanooga. They were too much and too fast.
They claim you can learn full stack in 12 weeks. I don't see how that is practical in the real world where we as adults got a ton of things to do! They have fewer programs too. Such as, HTML5, Basic Markdown, Agile, CSS3, JavaScript, Interacting with the DOM, Firebase, Node/ Node Express, Mongo DB, Git&Github,UX/UI, and Heroku. Like I said I am a skeptic to learn all of that in 12 weeks. How about people who are slow learners or slow readers?
There are so many questions about them. Like yes, they have a scholarship but the catch is you don't have to pay them back until you are hired. Well, what if you can't find a job? Covid-19 has created thousands of jobs being loss. I don't want to owe money when I can't even make money.
What if you want to start freelancing? It takes time to build clientele. I've talked to them and I didn't like what they offered. They just started their full stack recently. I don't think new programs are ideal because they are still figuring all the bugs and protocols. FYI, I am not bashing Savvy Coders. It's just not for me. Maybe if you don't have the time twelve weeks is right for you.
So, that is my reason. Your company is willing to work with Veterans such as myself. In short, Affordable, friendly, longer time to digest the material, veteran friendly, and awesome instructors!
The only thing I wish nu camp taught was ruby rails, MySQL, WordPress, Heroku, and PHP. -

Web Development Fundamentals
Overall it was a great fast paced boot camp, I learned a lot. The only criticisms I have is the workshop should not be mandatory to be on camera for the entire 4 hours. We should have the option to do the work, submit it and be done with it. -

I selected Nucamp for for my boot camp because of the low cost investment to develop skills for web development and to experience what a boot camp would be like. I am interested in enrolling in the full stack boot camp and based on my positive learning experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript boot camp I will continue on my journey with Nucamp. -

Experienced Backend developer transitioning to full stack.
Price point - exactly where it should be. Nobody can beat the quality of training at this price point. Huge online support from fellow users/trainers. Course content structure is great. Wish they offered other backend framework courses similarly .:) -

I really wanted to know if this career change into coding would be for me. Nucamp provided just the right cost and quality to help make a definitive decision regarding my future career goals. I very much liked the staff and the set your pace environment and the Saturday workshops. My classmates were also very helpful. I do wish we had more repetitive challenges that had students engaging more. But aside from that I am very grateful to Nucamp, the staff, my classmates, and what I have gotten out of the program!!! -

A great experience in getting me ready for the full stack course which i plan on proceeding with after a month of continuing to practice coding on my own. This experience gave me a great opportunity in getting my feet wet with the fundamentals of HTML CSS and JavaScript. I'm an extreme novice to coding before the course, and now see that i am capable of continuing on to make this my profession. Thank you again for the knowledge acquired, and i'll be seeing you again in november NuCamp! -

I chose Nucamp for these reasons: cost, flexibility as far as self-guided along with classroom time, I could still work while I attended, the length of the bootcamp isn't too long or too short, the technologies they were teaching are relevant, current and what most developers are using, and the reviews were very good. The slack channel for Nucamp has been invaluable. And I know I can talk to my instructor during the week with questions that I'm struggling with. Everything's been great so far! -
