A Life-Changing Experience
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
I joined Le Wagon after having been interested in learning to code for a number of years but having no clue where to start. Over the course of 2 months, I went from being able to solve simple math problems in Ruby to designing an entire web application through the encouragement and help of some amazing teachers.
I truly feel that the teachers made my experience worthwhile. They were always encouraging and kind – even when the high-intensity of the boot camp occasionally got to us students. Being able to approach them with any questions, no matter how basic, was also incredibly heartening and I feel that they made the core of the experience worthwhile.
The Le Wagon community is also fantastic. I often went for dinner after class with my classmates, and Le Wagon organized yoga sessions every week to give our mind a break. Some of our TAs were recent alumni as well, so being able to speak with them about their experience post-graduation was wonderful.
After graduating, I found a job within 2 months, and have since been enjoying my new career! -

Bias with unclear criteria for acceptance for government funded bootcamps

There is a lot of hype, but it is not worth it. I have been following Le Wagons for couple of years. It has mixed results. I had interaction with the tutors and staff. Many graduates of the bootcamp unable to find employment and the bootcamp does not provide enough support to the students and does not deliver in terms of the curriculum and job readiness.
I was give a technical assessment which I believe I have aced it when I asked for feedback. I was told there is a problem with motivation and commitment. I feel I passed on technical aspects, but the motivation and commitment is subjective. It is hard to judge without bias. It made me sad. In retrospect, I was not accepted from the interview regardless of my results of the technical assessment. The worst thing is when have a high expectations of a bootcamp and it fails in every aspect. In the end, I am very happy that I was not accepted to government funded place bootcamp. -

My unforgettable coding odyssey

Le Wagon's Web Development course, tailored for beginners like me, was a transformative coding journey led by skilled mentors. As a 19-year-old, the collaborative learning environment and group projects not only honed my coding skills but also created lasting memories.
The instructors went beyond teaching—they were skilled mentors who made the learning experience both educational and personally enriching. Their guidance added depth to the course, making it stand out in the realm of coding bootcamps.
While the technical skills gained were invaluable, it's the friendships formed and memories created with both peers and mentors that make Le Wagon exceptional. Highly recommended for those seeking expert guidance and a coding journey filled with unforgettable moments. -

Le Wagon Bootcamp in London was a transformative experience. The supportive community and emphasis on creativity made learning engaging. The coverage of SQL, Python, Data Visualization, and machine learning skills, along with hands-on projects, provided a practical approach. Despite occasional unclear instructions, potentially due to translation, I recommend Le Wagon for those looking to transition to tech and data. The overall experience and connections with inspiring individuals make it a worthwhile learning journey. -

Do Not Waste Your Time or Money!
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
I went to Le Wagon London last year and have not been able to find work since. So their 93% employment rate is not to be believed imo.
Where do you begin with this place and it’s unqualified teachers and TA’s (these are teaching assistants that are in fact people who just did the last bootcamp and can’t find a real job!) The actual teaching staff that I had did not have teaching qualifications and were very biased to the back end of coding, often dismissing the front end.
Your time here will largely be spent in twos doing challenges based on the morning lecture, this will largely be about Ruby on Rails! When you are there you constantly question things and are told it will all become clear in the last week or two, yet in reality this doesn’t happen but by then you’ve almost finished and you’ve spent both time and money, so kicking that can down the proverbial is easier for them!
Come the last two weeks, well one of these is your ‘build a website week’ and whilst this is moderately interesting, it’s not like you couldn’t have don’t this cheaper and faster elsewhere without all the other nonsense and awful learning environment. By awful, I mean if you’re unfortunate to be one of 4 groups on the ground floor, you will enjoy constant disruption from main doors, kitchens, toilets, staff rooms and people coming and going (as there is no reception area to speak of, people are buzzed in with ease and often left to their own devices!) All of this is not conducive of a positive learning experience.
Then comes career week - well this was a waste of time and energy. We actually thought it was a joke it was so bad. Many of us had already had careers and were experienced hires in other fields. The careers woman told us to delete our CV’s and start from scratch, effectively erasing all trace of any work experiences etc. When questioned about this, various staff agreed and it seemed like this was the normal thing to do. Still seemed very strange to me, but I went along with it, as did everyone else, almost like we were in a cult but didn’t know it!
Almost a year later and I am not in a tech job, in fact not in any job. The reason I did this bootcamp was to change careers but in reality the world is not that simple and by doing this bootcamp it is highly unlikely you will land a job in tech in 2024. The world has changed since the days LeWagon could punt ‘startups’ and make it sound sexy. Now the majority of people aren’t interested in startups and the ones that are, are not doing bootcamps!
My advice to anyone looking to change career is speak to people hiring for those jobs and hear what they’re really looking for, because it’s not, in most cases, Ruby on Rails, and your brief time at a bootcamp will simply not be enough. This is not how this is being sold, and that’s my issue with this. No, they don’t guarantee you a job, but they do use words very carefully with statistics they produce to make it seem extremely easy to get a role in tech, when for the last majority, it’s just not the case.
If you want my advice or opinion, save your time and money and do not come here! -

All I expected, A Solid Tech Upgrade

Having a business background and limited tech experience, I was pleasantly surprised by the Le Wagon Data Analytics Bootcamp. The course surpassed my expectations, offering practical skills for data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization. It also includes a first approach to adding value, such as machine learning models and automation tools.
The daily structure is intense but a great method, with morning lessons, day-long challenges, and recaps at the end of the day. It makes it easy to learn and digest information at various stages, ensuring everyone gains the necessary skills.
The standout feature is the friendly and well-prepared staff. Their support enhances the learning journey, making it both enjoyable and rewarding.
In summary, I will recommend it. -

Very good experience, in terms of skills acquisition, teaching content and teaching method. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their skills in data and start a career in this field. The bootcamp experience is very rewarding and helps to create a sense of competition with people from different backgrounds. It's as much an intellectual experience as a social one. I would recommend the Wagon without hesitation. -

Challenging and intense

The Wagon experience was intense and challenging, in only 2 months, we made a giant step in the tech universe. A lot of work was done, a lot of work remain, but it was an amazing experience and very useful. The teachers in Nice (south France) are basically awesome, mostly former students, very helpfull. The others students have become like army companions, we developped our skills but also our friendship. I highly recommend this very short course, intense and amazing, stressful but so enriching. -

Starting le Wagon bootcamp was one of the best decisions I've taken in my professional life. I wanted to learn in a efficient way all the skills needed to become a full stack developper without the pain of going back at school for 3-5 years. As I was switching from one career field to another, I feel that le Wagon was the best bootcamp to help me achieve my goals and start my new life as a fullstack developper. Would recommend to anyone willing to start a career in web development ! -

Great growth opportunity
Great opportunity to learn more than what I anticipated, but in a clear progression path. Not only that, but the great contact before, during, and after the bootcamp to ensure consta t support for our career in Data Science or Web Dev is a great element that I first did not expect, but will probably be of great support later on for me. I enjoyed my time at Le Wagon's bootcamp for sure! -

I would have never expected that an online coding bootcamp would be a life changing experience. This experience has enabled me to be flexible with my own routine while learning new things simultaneously. Teachers and TAs have been very helpful throughout the process and after sometime, I forgot that we're doing an online course altogether, great job! Game days have also been instrumental in helping to break the ice with batch mates.

Practically focussed, effective & engaging.

The mix of lectures covering theory and underlying concepts followed by practically focussed challenges is a very effective way to learn. The course covers a great range of data science, machine learning and deep learning skills. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to upskill in these areas. Full-time on-campus was definitely the best way for me to approach this and really immersing yourself is intense but undeniably effective. -

MErci Le Wagon <3 -

Excellent
Excellent experience overall.
Very tough also but you get what you put in, so if you're willing to work very hard for 2 months you can learn sooo much.
Also the community aspect of it even though it's online is 10 over 10. -

Very glad!

I am very happy and grateful. I know know how and what to do to get where I want. After 10 years I finally found a professional field I'm interested in and that I can play as a game. I get to learn all the basis, the tricks, the following steps to take in order to succeed in the field. I never coded before and was awful at maths, and ever without pretending being an engineer, I know I am now able to provide junior DS works and I'll be able to grow in the field by working on what's missing. I am able to build ML and DL models, to grid search them to get the best parameters, know which metrics to use to evaluate the models, how to choose the best model, research libraries, explain my models. I feel like a new person on the professional side. -

Intensive, rewarding, fun
The 9 week web development course is like being thrown in at the deep end, but by the end of it you will have tangible projects that you have built to show for your efforts. The staff are amazing, and offer so much help. The environment at Le Wagon is great to be a part of. Highly recommended! -

Good but has room for improvement
I was able to learn a lot, the content was good and well structured, good teachers. The material available is also very good.
They are not prepared for neurodivergent students causing anxiety and isolation in some people.
The group/ couple set up may not be the ideal learning situation for some people and mentioning it during class does not help either. -

I really enjoyed the bootcamp where I met great people while learning a lot in just 9 weeks. Now that it's done I'm impressed of what we achieved in such short time !
The teachers were available whenever we needed help and this even after our lessons with them. They not only focused on the lessons but also on other tools or their life experience to give us advice for the after bootcamp.
Thanks Le Wagon for this bootcamp.
It was intense but worth it ! -

Great people, great community!
Although the course is very intensive and requires a lot of effort, you are followed every step of the way. You always have TAs and Teacher there to help you and they are some of the best people you will ever meet. If you want to be a Web Developer this is the course for you. If I had to express a negative point, I would add Python or another more common language to the curriculum. -

Really good place to learn
I have spent +2months learning to code, it was tough but really enjoyable. You learn even without prior knowledge, the path goes from 0 to creating two projects in a few weeks, you can see you grow and learn. I would say that the ratings are really fair. -

Le Wagon London - DON’T DO IT

Le Wagon London - how to blow lots of money very quickly and be left with nothing!
At the very start of my journey to the Le Wagon London bootcamp, I was quite sceptical and had a number of phone calls and emails back and fourth with them. They of course make it sound/appear like they are the ones ‘interviewing’ you for a place on their bootcamp, giving you some false sense that this is a place where you would be lucky to be accepted.
In reality from some of the people on my cohort couldn’t even speak English properly, you would have to wonder who is really being interviewed and why? To answer this, is quite simple, and having completed the Web Dev bootcamp, you start to see the Le Wagon business model and how clever it is, not from a student perspective unfortunately.
Let’s start with the staff, in particularly the teaching staff. As of 2023 Le Wagon doesn’t seem to have any actual teachers as you may expect - and by this I mean someone with a PGCE PCET or similar, which enables them to teach in a post compulsory environment such as this. Instead these are people that seemed to have drifted into the jobs from vastly different backgrounds - manager of a cafe for example. I’m not here to have a go at individuals and question their qualifications, I think this would be something Le Wagon would fall down on, and this goes back to the model I was talking about earlier.
When it comes to the bootcamp itself, each day presents a mix of a lecture and challenges (75% of the time), the challenges you work on with another leaner (buddy) and are ‘assisted’ by a number of TA’s (teaching assistants). Where have these TA’s come from I hear you ask? Are these not qualified teachers, trainee lecturer's etc? No, these are people just like you, who have simply done a bootcamp and now can’t get a real tech job, but to flower their CV, and importantly make the Le Wagon model work. The issues with this are vast. Mostly as you’re not actually being ‘taught’ by professionals and then you’re not being supported by ‘professionals’.
Don’t get me wrong, some of the TA’s were lovely people and knew how to code, but in terms of the big picture… it’s starts to become clear that straight after this bootcamp that’s promising all these job prospects, the reality is, you will be lucky to be hired by them. By the time you’ve done a bootcamp and can’t find a job, the prospect of working here probably doesn’t sound so bad and so a percentage from every cohort seems to be hired, and so Le Wagon’s wheel keeps turning.
The course content is outdated, tired and not particularly in demand by industry in 2023. Whilst the name of the course is Web Development, we spent less than 3 days doing any front end coding in 9 weeks, and even that coverage was poor/rushed and even talked down on by two course leaders who ‘preferred back end’
In terms of the way the course in delivered; it’s difficult to be positive about what felt like a work in progress that they changed daily to suit some annoying students that would would turn up late and disrupt everyone else. When this was brought up, eventually they locked the door and made them wait until lunch time to enter. This took months, but which point the damage had been done.
All in all, imo this place is a waste of your money and your time, and will not get you a job in tech that you couldn’t have got through many different routes, all of which are cheaper and quicker.

A wonderful experience
The teachers was helpful and helped me to regain my confidence in coding. The most amazing was to build a website with my team from scratch. Then all the topics that I learned made sense. When I pitch the project, I was anxious but with all the support of the teachers, I presented it well. I wish I could restart it -

I did the 6 months part time course with Le Wagon. The part time course is great if you are still working while study but be prepared for very full on days and no days off. I learned so much during my 6 months and would def recommend. The teachers are all very helpful and the material is very good.
Working on the projects at the end is the highlight and its amazing to see your work in action. You will get as much out of this as you put in. Participate in the live codes, watch all the lectures and do your flash cards. -

DataScience leWagon Bootcamp - Flex Time is the perfect for those of you that have an intense schedule and are ready to spend some hours at night or weekend.
The schedule is manageable when working and dealing with family at the same time, the curriculum is very complete, you will still have to do some extra mile to understand other concepts and they encourage you to.
The challenge are at the right level of difficulty, it helps you understand the lecture, practice and get a full understanding of the topic, even if sometime you'll be pulling your hear to debug the overall thing.
Don't be afraid on the Math/Stat - this will come slowly (except if you are already used to) - They make sure to share the right documentation with you. -

Diving into the tech world, I wasn't quite sure where to begin until I stumbled upon Le Wagon's immersive Web Development bootcamp. Over a whirlwind few weeks, I discovered that this wasn't just another coding course. It was an intense, transformative experience that pushed me beyond simple coding tasks. The program equipped me with a toolbox of problem-solving strategies, ignited a newfound creativity within me, and cultivated an adaptability that I now realize is essential in this fast-paced tech realm.

I also found a second family among my peers. We were a diverse group, each of us passionate, and together, we fostered an entrepreneurial spirit, continuously learning and leaning on each other for support and collaboration.
Finishing the course, I felt a profound sense of accomplishment. I could now turn mere thoughts into tangible digital projects. Reflecting on my time at Le Wagon, I can confidently say it was more than an education—it was an experience that opened doors to limitless possibilities. If you're considering diving into the world of web development, Le Wagon offers an unparalleled journey you won't regret. -

Fulfilling and Bittersweet Experience

I liked that the bootcamp doesn't consist purely of lectures with teachers simply reading out content for the sake of it; the teachers here genuinely do care for students and build a rapport with you throughout the course of the bootcamp. From the first week there are welcome dinners, invites to talks from alumni and chats over drinks where you're welcome to ask your teachers more about their background, how they got started on coding and any advice they might have for career switchers like us.
You can sense their vested interest in your progress especially during your final few weeks coding out your project that was beyond my expectation of how supportive bootcamp teachers would be. A hundred percent recommend!
