Took the part time 6 month course. Though it was full on, I got to learn what the current industry practice is and am now able to build a full application with confidence. From a non IT background to a confident developer, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here with fellow students and a great trainer Mirza who guided me along the way. The best part of the entire course is the on job program. Komal is amazing, she gave us industry insights on how to crack that job.

Having recently completed the IOD Cybersecurity Boot Camp, I was extremely impressed by the program’s overall quality. The instructors and assistant instructors demonstrated exceptional expertise and real-world experience, which was reflected in every session. Their dedication to equipping students with practical skills and up-to-date industry insights stood out. The interactive, hands-on approach made even the most complex topics easy to understand and engaging. For anyone seeking to improve their cybersecurity knowledge in a structured and supportive environment, I would highly recommend this boot camp.

I recently completed the 12-week Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp with the Institute of Data.

At the start of the program, I was quite apprehensive and stressed about diving into such an intensive course. However, student services and my trainers, Chaitanya & Isabelle were incredibly supportive, providing positive reassurance that helped elevate my concerns. Their encouragement made a significant difference in my confidence and ability to tackle the coursework.

 The curriculum is robust, covering essential foundations in Python, machine learning, and other key areas, such as soft skills (critical thinking, presenting, documentation). It's a comprehensive overview that serves as a jack of all trades, master of none. This broad approach is perfect for those looking to gain a wide range of skills in a short period. Be prepared, though—the course moves at a rapid pace. It’s definitely a case of what you put in is what you get out.

I would recommend completing the pre-course work in plenty of time to alleviate stress. This preparation will help you start the boot camp on the right foot and keep up with the fast-paced learning environment. Additionally, a laptop with at least 8GB of RAM or higher is essential for the course. For the final capstone project, I highly recommend sourcing a data set as early as possible to give yourself ample time to work on it. 

By the end of the course, I was very pleased with what I had achieved and how far I had come. The progress I made in just 12 weeks was beyond my expectations.

While I am still in the process of securing a full-time data role, I can't comment extensively on job prospects after the course. However, I can say that the job outcomes team is very friendly and provide a wealth of resources.

 Overall, I would say the course is a good introduction, but please manage your expectations when it comes to transitioning to the field of data science and AI and job prospects. .

Before starting this course, I had doubts about its usefulness for me, as I have been working in the IT industry for 25 years. However, I decided to combine my practical experience with the knowledge gained from this Cybersecurity Boot Camp. Our instructor was outstanding, and his IT expertise was exceptional. Although I already had some experience in cybersecurity, I noticed that the students who had no IT experience were well-supported and could participate actively in the classes.
This program was not limited to theory only, and we got hands-on experience in pen-testing and system hardening. I consider my capstone project as my personal accomplishment, as I enjoyed conducting research and presenting my findings in the final assessment. 
I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in learning about cybersecurity. It's a valuable investment of both time and money, and it provides excellent opportunities for personal and professional growth.

This cybersecurity class offered an exceptionally intuitive learning experience, making complex concepts easy to grasp. It explored the fundamentals of cybersecurity and delved deeply into the subject of them. The instructors' guidance was also amazing, offering clear explanations and readily assisting students with questions or challenges they encountered. Overall, this class was truly an enriching and rewarding experience for all those involved.

took part time classes, the course and  labs overall were good but $15000 for such course is too much, I personalty paid this because they said it was an investment and after completing the course they will find me a suitable entry level jobs in data which was a big lie.
I would recommend new students looking to start a career, better to a graduate certificates, at least you can get a graduate job after that.

My overall experience in the course was amazing, given the context that I just started transitioning to a tech role, coming from an entirely different one (healthcare role). I took the part time Software Engineering course, which ran for 6 months, with classes every Tuesdays and Thursdays (3 hours) and fortnightly on a Saturday (about 6 to 8 hours). I believe that this pace was quite helpful for me in the sense that I didn't need to absorb new information all-at-once and at the same time, still continue to do my day job. The course contents were pretty concise enough to give me an idea of the essential tools and processes to use in software engineering. It may not be everything, but they did what they can in the span of 6 months (+ allowing us time to build our capstone project in the last 2 to 3 weeks, combining everything we've learned). Mirza, our instructor, was consistent with his classes, utilising every time provided and showing flexibility by asking the cohort how he can be helpful to us in how we'd spend our times in the classes, should we have spare times. He was also there to offer support, when we need it. The student support staff were also responsive in our queries. Arshdeep was kind enough to check-in on me every now and then to see how I was going and to provide the next steps when I miss a class. Lastly, I have been enjoying the job outcomes information, with Komal as my contact person. I still haven't used much of it, as I just recently finished the course. In saying this, they still offer access to the job outcomes 12 months after the end of the course, which is helpful as I will soon look for software engineering jobs. Would I highly recommend this course? I definitely would, especially if you are someone who would want to know what's out there when starting over as a software engineer. It is going to be definitely a lot information-wise, but it's lovely to have a "why" as you take the course, and hopefully have a supportive instructor, and other like-minded students in the cohort. I am in the process of changing fields and have to learn a new skills. IoD's program has been been what I was looking for. I found the program a great way to transition into Data Science and Python. Not only did I found the online sessions easy, but the practical lab work was a great way to get a hands-on practice. With a full time work, IoD was also supportive in helping me navigate the workload and manage my deliverables. Both the teaching and the non-teaching staff have been great and I am looking forward to their on-going support which extends beyond the course time-frame.

I recently completed the online Data Science bootcamp with the Institute of Data which has been a transformative experience. The practical and critical skills I acquired have prepared me for my new career in data. The course was challenging and rewarding. The support from Sunny, Dhani , Kate and the student services team enabled me to deal with those challenges and to be successful in obatining my certification.

Personally,  I really enjoyed how the curriculum was structured — it followed a consistent cycle of labs and afternoon classes that reinforced what we had just learned. The support provided throughout the course was incredibly comforting; it genuinely felt like they held your hand every step of the way. The staff were always available and understanding, and the teachers were thorough and seemed to truly enjoy helping students succeed.

I particularly want to mention Gareth, one of the teaching assistants, who was by far the best teacher I’ve ever had the pleasure of learning from. He was patient, gentle, and always ready to help with any problem I brought to him.

The reason I’m not giving a full 5-star rating, however, is because there was some disorganisation at the beginning. We were introduced to a teacher who unfortunately wasn’t able to continue, and as a result, we missed several sessions and were left with a bit of confusion and lack of updates. The replacement teacher wasn’t quite as effective — the pace felt rushed at times, communication around assignments and projects was unclear, and occasionally too much time was spent on debugging.

Despite those hiccups, I still think this was a great experience overall. The course offers strong support, hands-on learning, and a solid foundation for anyone looking to break into the tech field with guidance and a helpful network behind them.

I recently completed the Software Engineering Bootcamp at IOD/UTS, and it has been a truly valuable experience in my journey as a student. The program is well-structured and covers a wide range of industry-relevant topics within a short timeframe. While the pace can be intensive, the instructor was very supportive—always willing to provide detailed explanations and approachable whenever I needed guidance, even outside class hours.Overall, I would highly recommend the IOD/UTS Software Engineering Bootcamp to anyone serious about breaking into the tech industry. It’s a challenging, practical, and career-focused program that makes for a strong investment in both technical skills and future opportunities.

I was a student of the Institute of Data Cybersecurity Cohort in 2022, and the concept it employs includes lectures, laboratory work for hands-on experience of cybersecurity principles and tools, and soft skills development. The 6-month journey provides an overall understanding of cybersecurity and application in the real world. It's rare to find a cohort where every aspect of the course is taught by an instructor who relates to the industry's reality. In 2022, I was hired as a sales engineering manager for an OT cybersecurity solution provider, and currently I am the head of cybersecurity training and development for a consultancy corporation. The course helps and guides me on my journey to be a cybersecurity professional.

Working at the Institute of Data as a trainer has been a great opportunity to give back to the students who are interested in Cybersecurity. I’ve enjoyed building connections with them and seeing the students grow in their knowledge and abilities throughout the length of the class. Teaching is a two-way street, and I also get to be continuously learning from the students challenging me with their questions and new perspectives. It has been very fulfilling to contribute to their education and help them pursue their dreams. I always have great support from the entire IOD team, and we work together to ensure that the students have the best outcomes from the course.

Completing the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp with IOD was a transformative step in my professional journey. With a multidisciplinary background spanning Law, Psychology, and the Medical Device Industry, I was seeking a program to provide me with the technical and analytical skills needed to pivot into a new career. I'm a recent graduate of the Institute of Data's Professional Certificate in Data Science and AI. I completed the course part-time which allowed me the flexibility to continue working full-time whilst completing the course. It was also offered online which allowed me to squeeze it into my schedule. I would say that the foundational knowledge offered by the instructors was the key takeaway from the course. As this area is rapidly evolving and changing it’s difficult to update the curriculum as the course is being taught. So, my advice to prospective students would be to come with plenty of questions for your tutors on the foundational topics of the course and be prepared to keep up with the trends in technology in your own time.

I've always been interested in data but had minimal experience.  This course really through me in the deep end with plenty to learn and see what I enjoyed most about data science.  The course didn't just teach coding though.  We had to complete mini projects and a capstone project throughout the course which involved presenting a business case using the skills that we were learning throughout the course.  This was useful experience beyond just data science.
The course was up to date and the instructors were very knowledgeable.  It was also easy to get support when I needed it.  The job outcomes program afterwards also provided me with as much support as I needed for my job hunt.
Overall, this course has helped me find a new job in a difficult economic climate and set me up well for the future.  I would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to grow their skills in data science.

I recently completed the Data Science & AI bootcamp at the Institute of Data, and I can confidently say it was a game-changer for my career.

The program is fast-paced and hands-on. From Python and SQL to machine learning and AI, everything is taught with a focus on real-world application. It’s not just theory — you’ll build full data science projects from scratch, using tools like Jupyter, Google Cloud, Airflow, and Tableau. I built a complete streaming analytics pipeline and presented it just like I would in a real job. That kind of experience is rare in most programs.

The instructors were solid — knowledgeable, supportive, and they kept it real about what it takes to succeed. The career support was a nice bonus too: resume help, interview prep, and feedback that actually mattered.

This bootcamp isn’t easy. You’ll be challenged, especially if you’re starting from scratch. But if you show up and put in the effort, you’ll leave with legit skills and a strong portfolio to show employers.

I completed the Cybersecurity program at the Institute of Data about three months ago, and it was an excellent introduction to the IT world. The course provided a comprehensive overview of cybersecurity that have helped me with the essential skills needed in the field. The curriculum was well-structured and go hand-and-hand with the CompTIA Security + Exam. My instructor and teacher assistants were knowledgeable and gave a lot of insight about working in IT. Adding the program to my resume significantly boosted my job prospects, and I was able to secure a position at a data center within a month of graduation. I recently completed the Part-Time Data Science And AI Course. The course was intensive, informative and the resources provided were great.
The Course was well structured and the learning objectives were clear from the start. the curriculum gave me a solid base to build on but it is by no way a deep dive into data science or AI. It does provide the tools and knowledge to build on and enables you to apply your newly acquired skills on real life projects. The teaching staff were very helpful and supportive and they are very knowledgeable both from a theory and practice perspectives.

The pace is quite fast which is usually expected from a bootcamp.

I started off only know Excel. I signed up for the night course, while it was long, it was never too hard and never boring. Many of the lessons I was able to apply to my job at the time. Once I graduated, another company picked me up quick, surprised that I knew what I knew.

My instructor and the assistants were simply the best, and I consistently mentioned how wonderful I thought they were.

The labs were a little confusing in verbiage, but the assistants helped me understand what they meant.

Job services helped make an amazing resume, but I didn't really have to get help after that.

IoD was the start of my career as an Operations Data Analyst, and I will always be thankful. Now, I hope I get to become an part assistant instructor, so I can help others like they helped me!

I studied a Certificate in Software Engineering through Institute of Data which was a great experience as it provided exposure to programs and methods that are used by Software Engineers in the industry. There follow along way of teaching along with individual tasks and bigger projects allow the learners to ensure they are up to scratch with what is being taught and are not lagging behind. The projects i found were the biggest benefit to my learning as it gave us a great opportunity to blend in all the skills or our favourite coding techniques into a project we had an interest is and really gave us a real life use of certain coding methods and functions.

The only downside i would say is that on the final Capstone project you are not given a certain mark to see how well you met the requirements, rather only given a pass or a fail grading even though the marking sheet has scores that can be allocated. This would of provided a great indicator for the students on what their strengths and weaknesses are.

Other than that, happy with the overall layout and format of the bootcamp and a great way to get some kind of credential or certification under your belt to enter the work force

I want to say first and foremost that I enjoyed my time attending this bootcamp. At first I was having a shakey start with getting settled with different time zones for class and having my supplies in order. Otherwise once that all got settled, the fun began. My strength is mostly hands-on task, so when I attended this program my instructor, Mr. John Farrell, and the rest of the guys made a big emphasis on that part. Each class period was very engaging and informative while mixed in with laughters here and there. Furthermore, the instructors were always pointing us in a direction of what is expected when entering this field and it was as realistically based while still giving a hopeful outlook. Also, Job and Career outlook session was interactive too.

Before starting the course i was a little apprehensive due to the lack of I.T knowledge i possessed. However i was pleasantly surprised in how versatile and understanding the IOD staff were. Mohammed and Co are very passionate about what they do and it really made a difference in how they teach and explain concepts. The course itself is a bit challenging for someone with little I.T experience but please take it from me, aslong as you put the time and effort in you will succeed. I really enjoyed the mix on hands on theory and also going through real life examples to assist with understanding. Really valuable course.

I really liked the work from home structure and how intense the workload was keeping me and my classmates interacted at all times, leaving little to no time to even have the option of slacking off. the course instructors were amazing, jo's delivery of the content was perfect and there was nothing i wouldve changed if i could. both our class helpers to were amazing at helping us solve the issues we ran into without overwhelming us. overall it was a great experience and everyone made my whole class feel extremely comfortable.

My Software Engineering (Full Time) program at the Institute of Data was a genuinely intensive, fast-paced course designed to compress a large amount of practical learning into a short period. Delivered over 12 weeks full-time, the program was structured to simulate a real working environment, with daily hands-on coding, group collaboration, and project-based learning that mirrors industry expectations. From the outset, the emphasis was on building real, usable skills rather than theoretical knowledge, which makes it particularly effective for career changers, professionals or business owners looking to rapidly upskill.

One of the strongest aspects of the course is modern breadth. The curriculum spans modern industry-stndard front-end and back-end development, covering HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, APIs, databases such as MongoDB and MySQL, and deployment tools like Docker and AWS . This full-stack exposure is valuable because it provides a holistic understanding of how modern applications are built and deployed. 

However, the trade-off is that the pace was overwhelming, especially for beginners like we without zero prior coding experience. The recommended pre-work (30–40 hours) is essential and should not be underestimated.

The teaching model stands out for its practical orientation. Instructors are industry professionals, and the learning environment is workshop-style, with a strong focus on solving real-world problems. This approach helps develop not only technical skills but also collaboration, debugging, and problem-solving abilities, which are critical in real software engineering roles. The inclusion of multiple mini-projects and a capstone project reinforces learning through application rather than passive consumption.

Another key component is the Job Outcomes Program, which provides career coaching, resume support, and access to job opportunities. The program reports strong placement outcomes, with a high percentage of graduates achieving job success within 3 to 6 months . On the downside, I stress the course can feel compressed given the sheer volume of material. You need to do your homework very night. Falling a day or two behind can be fatal.

Also, some topics are covered only at a high level, meaning students often need to do significant self-study to deepen their understanding. Additionally, while the course provides a strong foundation, it is not a substitute for long-term experience; graduates should expect to continue learning extensively after completion.

Overall, the Institute of Data Software Engineering (Full Time) program is best suited for highly motivated individuals who are comfortable with an intense workload and are serious about transitioning into tech quickly. It delivers strong practical exposure, industry-relevant skills and valuable career support. However, success depends heavily on the effort you put in.
