I enrolled in the three-month data science course. If you consider doing it, do yourself a favour and not waste your time. The whole curriculum is a nightmare. After a reasonably relaxed introduction to Python, you will be overwhelmed by the data science tasks. The lecturers barely have tangential knowledge about data science. Therefore, you will spend most of your time on Youtube. The learning material is brilliant for Python and useless for data science. You will always be asked if you have questions. However, when you ask a question, the lecturer will excuse himself that this is not his field of expertise. Numpy, one of the most important libraries used in Python for data science, is technically ignored. My advice is: look for a different course.Melanie of HyperionDev

I recently completed an online full stack web development bootcamp and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The course material was comprehensive and covered everything from HTML and CSS to JavaScript and backend development frameworks. The instructors were knowledgeable and always available to answer questions or provide extra support.
One of the things I appreciated most about the online bootcamp was the flexibility it provided. I was able to work at my own pace and fit the coursework into my schedule, which made it easy to balance with my other commitments.

Going through a career change during covid wasn't easy but I have always been interested in the tech market, so I did research for software engineering courses through universities, however, eventually I decided to go through a coding bootcamp for a quicker transition into the tech industry. Attending HyperionDev made the work challenging but I believe through the hard work and effort from the staff, students, and myself that my experience was worth it. I am still a work in progress but I feel comfortable to jump into the tech industry.

As a past student from hyperion I thoroughly enjoyed my time at hyperion. it was a challenging experience that required a great amount of grit and tenacity to push through
Pros: 1.industry level work and projects that build your experience while learning how to program in the process
2.quality lectures ready to assist at anytime and in my opinion tought me well in what I wanted to learn
3.gives you good fundamentals in programming and coding as a whole with teaching me Java and python and various other frameworks
4. Landed my dream job 4months later earning top dollar.
Cons:1. Was marketed as a 3 month bootcamp when in total it took me 6 months which wasn’t a problem for me but if you are expecting it to be 3 months think again and plan accordingly.
2. Parking at the Cape Town location was horrible if you are planning on doing the in person bootcamp make sure you have extra money for parking each day or make lift arrangements
3.structure could have been a bit better as there wasn’t really a schedule to follow you just wait for the lectures to tell you when to come in
4. The last level of the bootcamp was in my opinion useless as it introduces us to a topic that has its own designated bootcamp (machine learning and data science) there’s no way you can mention that you have experience in that part on your CV with only doing 5 tasks on that topic. I personally feel that section needs to be relooked at

What an amazing experience!
It’s been an absolute joy to be able to study here.
The study materials, staff and mentors I can’t but give it all a 5 out of 5.
The mentors really take their time to help you understand a subject at hand and freely give extra resources when you still don’t understand something completely.
The materials are also on point. Before I joined I asked people (all of whom are in the tech industry and some even owning their own tech companies) and all of them said to go for it, loving the in-person-review that HyperionDev boasts with.
Once in the course, they definitely didn’t disappoint with all the hype.
I would recommend this course for all people, whether you have little or no experience or simply looking to upskill. -

Hyperion Dev, was one of my favourite bootcamps and I'm planning to do the data science course next. I was doing the Software Engineering Course and the curriculum felt well structured and I never felt lost with the course material. When I needed help there was always a mentor that could help me figure out the problem if the friendly students/mentors in Discord chat didn't help me already.
Overall I would reccommend this to any friends that want to change their career, or just people that want to learn more about programming. I've seen them improve and listen to feedback by students every day in my 6 month coding journey. -

Thus far I have had a great FIRST experience doing a course online. The things that stand out for me is the detailed course material on challenging tasks, the check-in calls you can schedule with your mentor which made it great to bounce task uncertainties/struggles off them and also the informative feedback on tasks not only giving you feedback but also giving alternative solutions to a specific problem. I would suggest anyone interested in either changing or progressing their career in software development to enrol in the software development bootcamp @HyperionDev. Suggestions would be to review and provide feedback on tasks closer to the day of submitting a task and including more task specific examples in a screen recording format which will be of much help. Machine learning as an example. Overall great experience. -

Compared to all other existing online data bootcamps, this course has the highest quality material. They organised the content into three major sections. There are several well-organized instructions and exercises. Students will be able to assimilate all the practises since they are well-integrated and continually refer back to earlier abilities. The most important aspect of the training, feedbacks are rapid and useful.
I also enjoy the method that displays your progress according to your plan. You are always aware of where you should be. The league table versus fellow students is also an excellent method to generate some constructive peer pressure.
In conclusion, the training is very organised. It is an excellent "boot camp" for those who wish to study Python and statistics, opening the door to data analysis in the future. -

The mentors were helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. They were punctual during code review sessions and I was never kept waiting. Support staff were friendly and helpful but some requests I put through took them quite a while to respond to. Course content covers a wide variety of areas which was nice, but some topics are covered too vaguely and without enough examples and deep enough explanations to grapple effectively with the task. While this was only the case with some tasks it did at times make it hard to progress. Average completion times on the dashboard do not give an accurate depiction of how long each task should take which makes it hard to effectively plan your time and easy to fall behind if you get stuck on a problem. The student champion system which allows past students to help current ones was a good idea and it proved to be a valuable support resource. The variety of different tasks allowed me to practice implementing my newly learned skills in different scenarios which allowed me to consistently improve over time. Overall this course provided me with many new skills and boosted my confidence as a developer. There are however several key areas that could be improved upon.Melanie of HyperionDev

After doing Much research on how to start my coding journey to give me the best chance of success, there eventually was no contest as Hyperion Dev suited all my needs Having an online study option while still having a mentor to guide me is a tremendous help.
There curriculum also was structured with the starting points of what one really needed to know, basic understanding, object-oriented and database.
But more importantly, the support from the institution themes selves was always great They reply one time, and always tried to help to accommodate, especially when i needed it

I started my journey with HyperionDev knowing absolutely nothing about coding. The course got me coding in no time with their approach to mastering the essential skills to become a web developer. The real world projects really helped in bringing all the different pieces of the puzzle together. Coding is not easy but HyperionDev's methodical approach will clear a lot of the confusion a self starter would face going it his/her own way. It's a trap!
I generally don't leave reviews, but here, I feel that I'd like to, only in order to prevent more people from falling into this trap, and having their money go to waste.
This course was a pure waste of money. I applied for the Full Stack Web development course, but not long after the initial trial, I was left with hardly any support whatsoever from any of the tutors. I struggled on my own through the material for months on end, and even had to pay extra to extend in order to buy more time to keep up. When I had a question or needed help and tried to reach the tutors, most times there was no answer. This is no exaggeration. There was a total lack of support that only started getting more better around more than a year (!) after I started, by which I had not much motivation to continue. They also blocked all access to the course materials, once my course finishing date had been reached, despite their original promise that all course material could be accessed at any future point.
Besides, their course material was very poorly written, and a lot was left to the student to decipher on their own. Heavily based on external research, which was often left at the students' discretion.
In addition, when I did manage to make a meeting with a tutor to go through a problem, most of the time they didn't know how to help and had to get back to me, or otherwise used the session to try out different ideas and play around, to see what might work. They were clearly inexperienced and unfortunately this was a complete waste of money.
Do yourself a favour and DON'T take this course.Melanie of HyperionDev

My experience at HyperionDev has been the best so far since we get to have mentors that have been very supportive. From the beginning, they guided me and I felt like giving up at times but the support system was so wonderful because they checked to see why I was falling behind. I am currently enrolled in one of HyperionDev's courses. The institution delivers top quality support services to help you to choose the right course for you, plus an Admission Consultant will assist you in your enrollment process. These consultant are hands on and makes sure you have support every step of the way.
The way the course is structured makes it much easier to learn a lot of information fast, as it is very effective. The mentors that reviews your code deliver in detail information on how you can improve and provides ample amounts of motivation and support to carry you through the course.
There are only small improvements I would suggest. The Hyperion website seemed to have a bug on the registration page that used (Fundamentals of Computer Science). Which made it a bit uncomfortable to register, was it not for the Admission Consultants. Lastly, when I submit my code most of the time it takes quite long before a Mentor reviews it, sometimes even weeks. This causes me to make the same mistake in other tasks without knowing, before a receive a review. I do understand however that the mentors are under tremendous pressure to review many student's work.
Nonetheless, I would recommend HyperionDev to everyone I know. I have a lot of fun learning and appreciate the amazing support. -

For the last 3 years I felt like making a change in my career. Than I came across Hyperiondev and started reading up on the tech sector. I enrolled for the free trial and from that moment I started to learn coding. One of the support staff called me and took me through the entire process of what the onsite bootcamp covers. At first it was quite overwhelming but as I started to learn the basics I got more confident in coding. The advantage I had was onsite I could ask the lecturer questions when ever I got stuck. So far it has been a phenomenal experience and I cant wait the complete my bootcamp. -

I completed LEVEL 1 of the Software Engineering Bootcamp and absolutely loved the overall experience being onsite. The instructor was extremely knowledgable and very helpful and the way the course was laid out was well structured with an in-depth curriculum. I decided to switch over to Web Development half way through the course, not because I wasn’t enjoying it, I just thought that Web Dev is better suited for me. I came into the course with no coding experience whatsoever, and after 6 months I feel fairly confident in my basic coding skills, my ability to learn new languages, and my ability to break down and solve problems. There's obviously much more to learn, but I wouldn't have been able to get where I am now on my own. Be warned however: this bootcamp is not easy, especially for total newbies like myself. You will have to commit, put in the hours, and do your own research to successfully complete the program. Be especially aware of this if you are also working a full time job. In the end though, all the hard work is totally worth it, and you get to cover a lot of ground in a short space of time. The onboarding and support staff are really friendly and helpful, and the mentors are invaluable, although the only negative I experienced was sometimes waiting too long for mentors to reply (or even getting no reply). Apart from that, its a great (but challenging) course - I highly recommend it! -

I am currently a full-time, onsite Web Development student at HyperionDev. So far I have had a very good but also very challenging experience, coding is hard and there is no way getting around that but they have designed the course so that you keep building on what you have been learning. I am really glad I chose to do the course onsite because it’s a very nice environment - the other students are great, you can ask other students further along in the course for help & you have direct access to either the main lecturer and junior lecturer. And I also have access to an online mentor which I can make appointments with if needed. I am in my 30s and a midlife career change is a big risk to take, I chose HyperionDev onsite to make the transition as easy as possible and have access to all possible resources that might help me along the way. It’s a very rewarding experience once your code works and when you actually realise that you can call yourself a coder. But you really do learn the meaning of the word perseverance, because it is tough. The course is structured in a very logical and clear way and it is very easy to keep track of your progress, it is assignment based and there are no exams. It would be great if there were more examples to work through though but you are also encouraged to do your own research to find solutions. If you don’t have any coding experience then I think it is unrealistic to complete this course in 3 months, I wasn’t able to but managed to apply for an extension. Some advice I would give a new joiner is to keep working - if you have completed the task for the day but still have it in you to continue, then keep going and read ahead and start doing the tasks yourself because it will help you to not fall behind. I am not sure how good the job assistance is after graduation as I have not yet graduated but they do teach you how to build an online brand for yourself.
