The Post Graduate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning conducted by Great Learning in partnership with the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business more than exceeded my expectations. It was comprehensive, engaging, rigorous, and at times extremely challenging. It begins with a 4-week Python programming boot camp for those with little to no programming experience and from there goes into the fundamentals of AI/ML. The Olympus Learning Management System (LMS), where you will spend most of your learning journey outside of working on specific projects, I found it to be easily navigable and accommodating.
Unlike other online courses, this program stands out with its commitment to translating theoretical knowledge into practical skills essential for excelling in the AI/ML industry. The curriculum is comprehensive, covering cutting-edge technologies like Deep Learning, Computer Vision, NLP, TensorFlow, Generative AI, and more. What sets this program apart is its learn-by-doing approach, allowing students to apply their skills in real-time through interactive mentor-led sessions and hands-on projects. The structured learning journey, combined with mentor support and their rich professional experience, ensures students achieve their learning milestones while building a robust portfolio. Right from the orientation session, the objectives and expectations were clearly set. Our batch had students from diverse backgrounds ranging from IT to Real Estate. A lot of us did not have any knowledge or experience in coding or software development. The program managers Pragya and Anwesha ensured that we were not lost during the course and provided all the necessary support to complete the program.
The professors and mentors were top notch. Concepts in the videos are explained thoroughly and clearly, right from basics. For someone not so well versed in Mathematics, I would recommend brushing up a bit on high school math. That is all you need to succeed in this course. Inspite of the math involved , the professors explained it in simple language and built upon examples and real life scenarios. Our mentors Shaheen, Mahesh Tripathi and Shubham Sharma were also excellent in clearing our doubts, no matter how basic or silly they were. It helped in building a lot of confidence. Overall, the Great Learning team does a fantastic job of guiding students into embracing an entirely new skill set, irrespective of their background. Help from existing and previous students is immense on the Community portal.
I will recommend this course to anyone wanting to dip their toes in AI without getting overwhelmed.
Cons: I have not felt many cons except that the course is quite fast paced for someone already busy with professional and personal obligations. However, the program managers are always there to support and they make it easier to complete the course. -

The course provided an excellent introduction to AIML and covered essential core concepts. I found the pre-work very helpful / useful in introducing me to the course and its concepts. Overall, the course was well designed with recorded lectures, followed by mentor learning sessions to better understand concepts from lectures supported by Q&A. The projects helped with practical application of concepts learned. A variety of course materials including case studies are provided, which are very helpful. Coverage around use of available no-code tools to implement such concepts were excellent and augmented the learning experience.
Points to consider: At time of registration, the impression was that the course is 10-12 hrs. / week. I believe this is closer to 20 hrs. / week if one wants to learn and apply the concepts well especially for project work. Also, most registrants had the impression that the MIT lectures would be live. During orientation, this was clarified. At least some of us were surprised that that would not be the case. I can understand why. Will be good to clarify this at time of registration. While the industry mentor sessions are helpful, not all mentors are at par. The mentor assigned to us, while was good in his concepts and application of those concepts, appeared to have little coaching experience. Will be good to consider those with good / excellent coaching experience. Also, would be beneficial to allow students to download video sessions for future reference. While a lot of the video material is covered in downloadable PDFs, Excels, CSVs and textual content, explanations of some of the concepts cannot be captured in documents. Again, I understand IP restrictions, but will be good to have access to such sessions beyond the 6-month limit. -

I recently completed Great Learning’s ‘Data Science and Machine learning’ Online Program that left me thoroughly impressed. The program offered a dynamic exploration of artificial intelligence, combining robust theoretical foundations with practical applications.
A standout feature was the incorporation of insightful case studies, offering real-world perspectives on AI applications across diverse industries. Most of the difficult topics were covered multiple times by different Mentor’s to make
sure subject is understood thoroughly.
The lecturers were exceptional, possessing deep expertise and effective communication skills. Their ability to convey complex concepts in a clear manner, coupled with an interactive teaching style, fostered a collaborative learning environment.
The administrative staff and my program manager (Vanshika) encouraged and proactively provided needed support in a timely manner to keep me on track to complete the course successfully. This support is highly appreciated.
With its well-crafted content, up-to-date material, insightful case studies, coverage of latest trends, exceptional lecturers, and dedicated administrative team, it stands as a must for anyone aspiring to thrive in the dynamic field of AI and machine learning. Through this course I was able to go at my own pace and learn so much content without feeling lost or behind at any moment, the video explanations are clear and concise helping you follow and understand the topic, even more the Mentored learning sessions where really helpful and educational and were always very organized and given heads up for the times and days. Furthermore the team is truly amazing and are there to help in any way, personally I have had an amazing experience with the program and the team that helped me. My program manager was an incredible help when I felt that I needed extra time or support for specific topics, it truly made the learning journey worthwhile and fun while also being very educational.

Not having a background in the programming area, I consider that this course has been meticulously designed, taking us through a well-structured curriculum that starts with the basic concepts, algorithms, and their importance in solving complex business problems, and gradually delves into deep learning.
The explanations are clear and the practical examples and exercises effectively reinforce the concepts. I particularly enjoyed the the hands-on approach and the practical assignments provided immediate application of the learned theories.

The course is exactly as advertised. One needs to have some background in data as well as a keen interest to learn. There is a Pre-Work syllabus that gets everyone prepared for the course ahead. For me it has been a perfect blend of theory (data science), real world applications by way of examples and projects, and the support to learn how to use AI applications common to the industry.
I am confident that I am now able to understand how AI and ML fit into every facet of the business world. The depth of the course has also allowed me to appreciate the technical aspects of the various approaches to AI and ML. And most of all the course has provided me with the tools necessary to bring together a wide range of data and to structure the data in such a way to allow me to create my own AI models and solutions.

During the 6 months of the bootcamp, you will be immersed weekly into a specific technique via videos, quizzes to test your knowledge, case reviews with hands-on notebooks and coding, and will code your own projects to add to your portfolio.
I was an absolute beginner and learned a tremendous amount. Of course there is more to know and it changes quickly so students can keep access to the material for 3 years with all the updates. Which is a great way to revisit and practice more.

Pros: Modules were very well arranged and designed. Lectures by MIT faculty were top notch. I found interactive mentored learning sessions insightful and enjoyable. Case studies and lot of learning material on the learning management system are a great way to build hands on experience. Support by GL was prompt and effective always.
Cons: Schedule was too tight at times to cover all the material well. Project feedback could be quicker. -

The absolute pro here is the well guided course material + live classes with MIT professors and mentor learning sessions with GL trainers. Another pro are the project challenges, which really required me to get deeply into everything. Especially Machine Learning as well as Deep Learning fitted perfectly into my daily business. Another huge pro is the MIT-ADSP community. So many class mates based from all over the world made it very interesting.
The con is of course the timing. I needed way more time than initially anticipated, but from my final perspective it was really worth it :-)

Excellent program offered by Great Learning in collaboration with MIT. The course material starting from pre-work to each module is very thorough, in-depth and provides extra materials (as web links) across to give more knowledge.
Mentor training was very useful, as it provided smaller group sessions with the industry experienced mentors and gave in-depth intuition behind ML algorithms.
Support staff (as in MIT session coordinators, program advisors, program managers) were very knowledgeable and helpful through out this challenging course.

I participated in this course as an organizational leader and to develop an understanding and application for AI in the business environment. The course provided an excellent overview and history of machine learning and AI and proceeded to dive into very detailed learning exercises to help understand how AI can be used to solve multiple business problems. There was ample hands on opportunity to use various softwares without going too in depth with actual coding. Overall the instructors and mentors were excellent. While the format of this course is condensed, it would be a misnomer to describe it as a primer, as it provides hands-on instruction and experience with ML based tools, which are both invaluable for those who wish to deploy AI and ML methods rapidly into their workflow, as well as those seeking to expand into more technical areas. Upon completing this course, students will have a fundamental understanding of how and when to apply AI and ML systems, what is involved in doing so, be able to evaluate and improve models towards a particular objective, and characterize the benefits and limitations of such systems. It is hard to overstate the value this skill set provides learners.
Structure
The courses are broken up into various modules that build on the skills and understanding gained through the previous. Each module features a précis and text & video format instruction, and live instruction with expert faculty. Great consideration is shown for workload to ensure that the pace is amenable to even the busiest schedules. No less impressive than the course and it's content are the incredible array of people and tools at the disposal of learners. I had the great experience of working with two amazing advisors who truly inspired me with their devotion to ensuring success. The program gives participants experience using powerful tools like RapidMiner and Dataiq so that they can immediately integrate their understanding in practice. Perhaps more importantly, the fundamental principals underlying the mechanisms and metrics of how these tools operate, such as linear regression, k-mean clustering, partial autocovariance functions, loss functions, et. al. are packaged like nested matryoshka dolls, ensuring that students receive the essential understanding, but allowing those interested a range of academic materials, links and resources to explore the topics at greater depth.
Value
This course is both an excellent first step into the realm of data science and ML AI applications or a concomitant to a robust technical background. While this course is not all encompassing, (it does not entail coded applications, nor is it a surrogate for an graduate degree), it's value in terms of utility is profound as most of the demand for AI and ML applications will be from small to mid-size companies that do not have the resources to commit special data science professionals and compute to their particular use cases and will need both guidance and rapidly deployable solutions of the type that are particularly amenable to the no code tools offered in this course.

There is a lot of good to say about this course. It is both densely theoretical and heavily practical. Theory is really important to understand what is behind the scenes of AI and ML. It would be useless to just learn to handle software w/o this knowledge. Instructors are very good, but I think there is a lot to learn from Dr. Huettenegger style, both because of the precise content of his lectures, but also his concise language, as well as his clarity and emphasis on the right issues and moments. A really good instructor with a great lecturing style.
My industry Mentor (Denver Dias) was also precise in the mentoring sessions and on his answers to our questions. Overall, very good.
My Program Officer (Priyanka Kothari) was great in keeping us posted and updated of scheduled sessions and coming assessments and projects. She was also super attentive to our pace of learning and understanding of our other responsibilities (most, if not all learners, worked full-time).
The workload may seem heavy at times (most of the time). Easily 5 to 10 net hours/week of material to review (videos, handouts, presentations) plus 2 hours of mentored mandatory sessions and another 2 of non-mandatory practice per week. Everything is recorded, so it is accessible later if anything was missed or needs to be reviewed. Assessments are 15 to 30 minutes more (not a big deal) and projects can be heavy. Only three projects during the entire course, but between 10 and 20 hours of work each (it could just be me). Those were hard, but also rewarding "real" challenges.
Just one comment about the recorded lectures, their written transcripts were mostly word-by-word transcripts of the lecture including repetitions, unclear wording and everything that is common in an actual verbal presentation. These texts could be simplified. Editing those written transcripts for clear and clean language would be beneficial.
Overall, highly satisfied and amazed I got involved into such a long, deep, and hopefully transformative experience. Highly recommendable but be sure to be prepared for everything I described above.Great Learning of Great Learning

I am half way through the course and would like to say that this is a fantastic learning platform and setup. While there it's hard to match the MIT sessions & lectures, the Great learning Olympus platform is wonderful learning platform is a comprehensive learning platform that is very easy to use and provides great collaboration, course material, access to industry, talent and career paths too. Even better are the wonderful staff and support personnel who are very responsive and supportive. I had great experience with my coordinator who helped me be on top of the course, provided flexibility in accomplishing my goals and responded to all the feedback on lectures with action. AI and ML are a big topic in the energy field these days. I have coding experience but my professional progression is taking me away from my computer more and more. When I heard about the No Code AI and Machine Learning course I decided to give it a try and it has been an amazing experience. The teachers are very knowledgable and the content is very detailed and hands-on for those who work want to dive deep on this topic. At the same time, the program allows students with limited time or in a management position, to take an approach focused on understanding the theory and defining the methods to solve the problems. Classes happen during the weekends, and the team is amazing helping you accommodating you in different groups if needed. The quality is way worth the cost.
