I come from a background in psychology and education. After discovering UX, I felt like I finally found the career path that was meant for me. I then began to research boot camps. After some (read: A LOT) of contemplation, I decided to go with Avocademy, and I am SO glad that I did.
Avocademy appeals to all learning styles by providing information in a variety of ways, from textual information and videos to hands-on projects. There is also unlimited mentorship that you can utilize throughout both the Foundations course and Career Jumpstart.
I am currently in the Career Jumpstart program, and I am super excited to get started on real client projects and start building my portfolio.
If you are serious about transitioning and changing your life, then do not hesitate to give Avocademy a try! -

I found Avocademy on TikTok last year and QUIT my masters program to start this journey. If was a huge leap of faith, but I'm so glad I did it. I had the most amazing experience with Avocademy learning everything I needed to become a UX/UI Designer! The Avocademy Foundations Course is by far the most comprehensive, affordable, learning friendly, and support provided program available. The course was extremely fun, informative, and well put together. All of the lessons and activities built upon the next, making learning easy and fun. Through out the entire course, you have a huge amount of support from the team. Everyone was friendly and always eager to help you with anything. I would definitely recommend this course (and already have) to anyone interested in becoming a UX/UI Designer. Avocademy has made UX/UI Design accessible for everyone, Including me as a BIPOC woman. The foundations course is self-paced but the timeline helped me stay disciplined. I had some setbacks due to life but the mentors at Avocademy were very empathetic about my situation and allowed me to pause my enrollment and continued the rest of my bootcamp after my recovery. I struggled with my interview skills a lot and with the unlimited mentorship, I was able to practice alot and enhance my interviewing skills. I got over my limitations and achieved my goals! Not only did I get one offer but i got 2 offers! I'm so grateful for this bootcamp to help me break into the Tech industry and do something I've always wanted to do since high school. -

I recently took an online course on UX/UI Foundations with Avocademy, and it exceeded all my expectations. The course was well-structured and covered all the important topics in UX/UI Design. The content was digestible and easy to follow.
One of the things that impressed me the most about the course was the variety of content provided, from video lectures to hands-on activities. This made the learning experience dynamic and kept me engaged throughout the course.
I also appreciated the supportive community of students and the quick response from the mentors whenever I had a question or concern. The course provided ample opportunities to connect with others, which helped me to expand my network and learn from others.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a career change, and/or to gain a comprehensive understanding of UX/UI Design. It has given me the tools and confidence to advance in my career, and I am sure it will do the same for others. I am so happy that I took the leap and signed up for the program. Money for me has always hindered making investments like this, however, the payment options are super and won me over and truly helped me commit. I've always wanted to get into the tech industry and admired those that do this type of work. The course itself is built to help and guide you along the way, there were so many resources available, tools, blogs, and videos outside of the course material they provide that really add to what you learn overall. The mentors are all so helpful and the fact that they are in the field and have an understanding and an openness to teach and answer any questions big or small I really appreciated. You have access to chat with peers and mentors, you have access to set one-on-ones with mentors as often as you'd like, and having that time to ask specific questions and get them answered and learn their tips and tricks was a big deal for my learning style. Also getting to do this all while having a full-time job online in my downtime is amazing, anyone can do this if you have the passion, it's also so fun!
I highly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in learning UX/UI and all that comes with it, there is so much behind the role and it is so cool how you are set up for success with Avocademy. Big fan! :) -

The Avocademy crew are doing the MOST to help their graduates bridge the gap between school and landing the first job. This is where most people get stuck... after school ends; when new designers are left with the "Now what?" feeling. They've got super kind mentors (constructive criticism) and lessons designed to help combat the imposter syndrome. I felt that their guidance was so helpful that I ended up coming back and participating in their Career Jumpstarts program to gain valuable experience in team leadership, project management, and producing professional products for our portfolios. -

I want to start by saying how amazing it has been to find something I am so passionate about. The mentors and staff are absolutely amazing, they always work with you and there is no pressure to finish as there are no grades and only an estimated timeline for the course. I love the way they compiled all of the information into this course, as it is easy to navigate, visually appealing, and easy to understand. The activities and modules are set up wonderfully, and executed with ease. I am a visual learner and it is all explained well through each module. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this course. It was a lot of information, but somehow did not feel overwhelming and stressful. I found this course to be really fun and informative. I am so happy that I took this course and was relieved that it is only $2k as most bootcamps cost 5k+. I have already begun the next course called career jumpstart and learning so much. I cannot wait to use what I learn and apply it to the real world! -

I come from a non-technical background and I was able to learn so much in both foundations and CJ. Having hands-on experience gave me the ability to speak confidently during interviews. CJ gave me all of the tools needed to successfully transition, but I also put in A LOT of work. I made sure I was meeting with mentors often both in CJ and out, asking questions, learning outside of CJ, and putting in the time to show up for all my CJ projects. You get out of it what you give. I was able to land a full-time position 2 months into my job search journey. If you are serious about transitioning into design and putting in the work, then CJ is for you! -

Avocademy is an amazing school for new and upcoming designers and they have two courses, the first course is foundations where you learn the basics of UX/UI Design and the second course is Career Jumpstart for recent graduates from the foundations course. I am a recent Grad and thought the really covered all of the basics you can possibly learn for UX/UI Design. All of the mentors are amazing and really know how UX/UI design works. It is an investment, but so worth it!! -

I did a ton of research on which UX bootcamp would be the best fit for me. I was pivoting careers and wanted something that I could complete in less than a year and that was affordable. Avocademy was just that. While there were some great options out there, Avocademy offered unlimited mentorship throughout the program, which to me was invaluable. The lessons were thorough and the projects challenged me. When I got stuck on something I made sure to schedule a 1:1 with a mentor. I liked them so much I regularly scheduled a 1:1 each week and sometimes even twice a week. Getting to discuss my work with various industry designers continued to excite me for the moment I myself became one. The pride I felt when I finished was honestly better than when I received my college degree. I loved meeting other students and really enjoyed all of the staff at Avocademy. If you are considering joining, honestly just do it. The only thing I wish I had done differently was sign up even sooner than I did. -

As a person coming from a completely different creative background (fashion & graphic design), I felt like I hadn't really found a great fit for my passions until I started researching UX/UI Design. For me it's the perfect balance of creativity & technicality--while helping solve problems. After a couple months of researching I came across a few bootcamps but Avocademy stood out the most to me and I went for it. I completed the Foundations course with Avocademy in October and it was the best decision and self investment I've made! The course goes into depth and is organized so well. The reading material is incredible and the fact that they offer mentorship throughout the entire program is what really helped me make my decision to join. I was able to talk one on one when I needed help or had questions and I really learned so much. If you are looking to enter a new career field I highly recommend this program they will tech you everything you need to know. I was amazed how much I was able to retain the new information I was learning and I give the credit to the way this program is structured. Designing your own project towards the end of the program is very rewarding and makes you realize just how much goes into UX Design and how much Avocademy teaches you in a short period of time. Like anything, you get what you put in! So if you are dedicated and determined to learn and start a new career path you will love it. I am now in their Career Jumpstart program where you work with real clients, continue to build your portfolio and apply to jobs. I'm so glad I found Avocademy! I did some very thorough research to find a bootcamp that fit my particular needs. I found Avocademy early on, but due to nerves and anxiousness to learn new skills in a new field I held off. Let me say, I wish I took the leap sooner! From the beginning everyone was so helpful and supportive. I was very impressed with the amount of help and resources available to me and how mentors responded to all my questions in a timely and patient manner. Their course is one of the more affordable ones out there and is in a reasonable time period to see if this is the right path for you. They have carefully curated a plethora of materials that will set you up for best practices and success in the industry. Their self-paced program makes it flexible to complete whatever your current situation may be. Avocademy is a self-paced, intensive UX/UI bootcamp that I was lucky enough to come across early in 2021. I was looking to make a career change, or at least find something that would allow me to save money for Grad school, but I have since fallen deeply in love with design. The way that Avocademy's team has structured their course, alongside the tremendous amount of support and guidance they offer, really sets you up for success. It's clear that this program was made with the utmost care for their students.
As I mentioned before, it's an intensive course, there is a lot of information to get through and lots to read especially, but it's well worth it. It's expected that you finish in 8 weeks but as it's a self-paced program, the timeline isn't fixed. It's very convenient for those who can't devote all of their time to a program, and the flexibility of this course is what initially drew me to it. Whenever I would feel overwhelmed or stressed about the material, there was a network of mentors and other students that I could turn to for support, advice, and/or anything!
I can honestly say that this has been the most enjoyable learning experience I've ever had. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone who is interested, I can't imagine that you'd be disappointed! -

I recently completed the Avocademy Foundations program and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The course was well-structured and provided a great foundation for a career in UX/UI design.
One of the things I appreciated most about the course was the flexibility it offered. It was self-paced, so I was able to work at my own pace and fit my studies in around my schedule. The material was presented through a combination of videos, readings, and interactive exercises, which kept things interesting and engaging.
I found the course material to be very comprehensive and felt well-prepared by the time I finished. The instructors were all highly knowledgeable and provided excellent support throughout the course. Although sometimes they were a bit too busy to get back to you on time but when they did, they were always available to answer questions and provide feedback on my work.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Avocademy Foundations program to anyone interested in a career in UX/UI design. It's a great investment in your future and I feel confident that it will set me up for success in my chosen field.

I was contacted by Maca on LinkedIn after I posted in a Transitioning Teacher thread. I had no idea what shift to make, just that I wanted out of teaching. I researched UX Design and all the Bootcamps for a month before signing up. Avocademy is amazing. They ease you in quickly, but effectively and not too overwhelming. I was able to quckly catch on and have learned so much. After finishing Foundations, I signed up for Career Jumpstart. I am currently on my third project and I am applying for work. They provide resume and portfolio help, mock interviews and portfolio walkthroughs, mentor opportunities and even references if you need them. I've gotten all of my friends curious about it and even my husband signed up and is about to finish the Foundations course! Avocademy was worth it in every way. The only critique that I have is that the mentors can be a bit contradicting when reviewing your assignments and that can take up time, especially in the Wireframes and Hi-Fi screen assignments. It can get a little frustrating, but a one-on-one call always helps. -

I started off with their UX/UI foundations course. It helped me a lot to break into this industry. Of course, there are tons of free courses and curricula online, but Avocademy has gathered all the articles, sources, etc all in one place without having to figure out which information is good or bad. It is a lot of reading and can get kind of boring, but they are very useful information. After the foundations course, I joined their career jumpstart. Much more information and you actually get to work with real-life clients with other students as your teammates. I was able to get 4 projects into my portfolio! Also, all the mentors are very nice and are willing to help you every step of the way. -

I really enjoyed the Avocadamey foundations course. The course material is organized and in depth, and the mentors are all very helpful. Each mentor has their own style and strength, so as a student you are exposed to a lot of different design styles. The one thing I would say could be better is at certain parts of the course there may not be enough available mentors, so you are waiting on feedback longer in one phase than at another phase. Overall I think this is the best UX/UI bootcamp available, and I ended up continuing on to their career jumpstart program! -

I'm a graduate of Avocademy UX/UI Foundations program. Let me start out by saying that when I started I had never heard of UI/UX design (and I have a Tech background). I had learned about Avocademy thru Tik Tok and did my research about the UX/UI industry. I found it interesting and decided to pursue a career in UX/UI. My next step was to contact Avocademy about the program. From my first interaction with a member of Avocademy you could tell they care. First, they answered all of my questions in detail, assuring me that I did not need a background in design to succeed. I started the UX/UI Foundations program. First, you will learn about research and interviewing and then turning that information into personas to eventually help you create your first case study. Throughout the program you will have to submit (and in my case re-submit and re-submit again) your work to mentors that have years of experience in the UI/UX industry. I really loved this part of the program. It was because of the iterations I had to do, that I eventually learned how and why you do some things and why you don't. Once the research is finished and approved, comes the designing of your app. They do a fantastic job of teaching you about low, medium and high fidelity wireframes and give all the information to help you learn everything about Figma and how to properly use this tool to design. You complete each stage of your design from low-fidelity wireframes to finally a working prototype. All while submitting your work to experienced mentors and doing iterations at each stage. Throughout the iterations, you will learn why and how to design in Figma. Learn the basics of design and master those design skills. Once the wireframes and prototype are completed and approved, the program and mentors help you with developing your portfolio and properly showing your first case study properly within your portfolio.
I also completed the second program, Career Jumpstart, and I am currently looking for a UI/UX position. The second program is just as good as the foundations program. You have opportunities to work on real-life projects for clients with teams of 4-6 people. These same projects have Project Managers and Team Leads. Once the project(s) are completed, Avocademy helps you update your portfolio for those projects. Once you have finished the 2 projects, you start your position search with Mentors that help you either make or update your CV. This program has a fantastic method to get you hired. Avocademy has covered everything from start to finish.
When I started this program, I had never heard of UX/UI and did not have any type of design background. I currently finished with Foundations and Career Jumpstart and I am looking for a position in UX/UI. I design on an almost daily basis during my free time, because I love to. Affordable Bootcamp that Exceeded Expectations

I completed Avocademy's UX/UI Design Foundations program and it was an incredible experience. Students get unlimited mentor support (1-on-1, without having to pay extra!). The mentors are very knowledgeable and helpful. The unlimited mentor support is such a bonus. Everyone is very involved and so helpful, including the owner herself.
The content within the course is consistently being updated with the latest and most relevant info for aspiring UX/UI designers. The content is also in such a way where you're learning from a variety of resources, therefore really honing in on everything and learning/viewing it all from a variety of different perspectives. In other words, it's taking the entire process of learning UX/UI and teaching it in a way that's understandable, can be integrated well, beginner-friendly, and clearly user-centric (always an important factor for a UX course lol).
Amongst all these pros the only cons that I have are:
- when doing iterations, one mentor might say one thing and another mentor might say another. BUT that's also a great opportunity to exercise your communication muscles (as that's something that will be needed as a UX Designer anyway lol) AND in the long-run I can see why one said one thing and another said something different - because my designs had been too much on one extreme and then by trying to fix it I went into the other extreme. So, honestly, even the con is pretty much a pro. Iterations can be frustrating a times but they really are necessary and the best way to learn how to best respond is by going through the course.
- because it is self-paced, it can be easy to lose track of time, delay timelines. The course is structured and made in such a way for them to really help you out with that, staying on top of your lessons and everything but ultimately it comes down to the student to actually uphold themselves to the timeline. Again, another opportunity.
So really, both cons are pretty much pros as well.
Honestly, I found it to be an incredible course (I honestly didn't expect it to be SO good given that they're just a fraction of the other UX bootcamps I was looking into). I loved it so much that I've taken their Career Jumpstart program *and* their Design Masterclasses. Seriously. If you're looking to get started as a UX Designer, I whole-heartedly recommend Avocademy (I'm actually doing so for my friends and family looking for a career change lol). -

I can’t say enough about career jumpstart. Upon starting, I was immediately met with warm welcomed from everyone in the program. Modules are clearly laid out and you get to jump right into real client work! On top of gaining real world experience working on products, you get the experience of working with other designers , PM’s, etc. Whenever I needed a second pair of eyes or ears , someone was readily available. They helped me with interview prep,portfolio prep/feedback, and mentorship. They helped me gain the confidence to land my first full time role in UX and I couldn’t be anymore grateful. -

After completing the Avocademy bootcamp, I signed up for Career Jumpstart which is really a must have when switching careers to UX Design. I signed up in January 2022, completed two projects, then started job hunting (I also completed another project a month later while job hunting). It took me a little over 6 months to find a job. They certainly have tons of mentor support for interviewing and recently increased the mentors availability which was great, but it's still a tough market. While I felt like they set you up for success with a great portfolio and resume, job hunting was tough for me personally. Some students got jobs within a month or two, so it's certainly possible, but not sure what the average job search length is. I struggled with applying to 160 jobs a month for 6 months straight, and that's what you'll have to do to get the job guarantee. Otherwise you will be pay 7% of your salary with no new job (assuming it's over $40,000), which almost happened to me (even if that did happen they were still going to support me). I would make sure this is something you really want to do and make sure you're in it for the long haul because it's a tough industry to break into right now. If you loved the bootcamp, you should go for it! As a side note, Maca, the co-founder of Avocademy and Career Jumpstart is awesome! She has such great insights and really wants you to succeed. She's constantly involved in mentoring students during the Daily Calls and is great about responding to messages. I think it's really rare to see a founder so involved with her students. -

Long story short, they deliver what they promise and more! This program changed my life, and I recommend it to anyone trying to transition to UX/UI, especially graphic designers –which was my case. Avocademy Carrer Jumpstart gives you every tool you need to succeed and access to knowledgeable mentors that guide you every step of the way, from how the heck to start to what to do once you land your job.
The course is structured clearly, intuitively, and easy to follow. Like everything in life, the results also depend on your effort. They set you up for success, but you need to work hard to make it work. However, if you follow the plan and keep improving yourself every step of the way, this will be one of the best investments of your life. -

I joined the Avocademy UX/UI Design Bootcamp. As an educator seeking to change careers, I really thought I would be able to build a portfolio by the end of the course, receive mentorship, and get a job. They are relatively new BootCamp. I had to take breaks due to current work stress and did not complete the program in the timeline. Once I finally got back on track, the curriculum shifted and changed. A different struggle is that you are not placed with a consistent mentor. Mentors are placed with certain activities or units. I struggled with one mentor approving a document, and the following one saying it wasn't good enough and I needed to redo it. I completed the portfolio and realized the intro bootcamp wasn't enough. I would need to take 2-3 more Bootcamp style "courses" ranging from $3,000-5,000. Even though there were regular posts of students finding jobs, many students after 6 months were still looking for work. (UX/UI field is not open for newcomers). You have to show at least 2 years of experience to be considered for a UX position, and the bootcamps only provide you with 1 portfolio (not enough for an employer). I wish had chosen a bootcamp with a job guarantee, and not a course that requires 2-3 separate bootcamps to get a job. -

I had a great experience learning with the Career Jumpstart program. The course material was very well oriented and the mentorship was helpful. This program is great for giving real life design experience with clients, which is not like many other courses. I came from a graphic design background, so having this course really helped me to understand more about user experience so that I can make my designs more intentional for users. I would recommend this course for anyone that wants to get into the world of tech as a creative mind.
After finishing my portfolio, I was able to get a job within 2 weeks of applying. I couldn't have done this without Career Jumpstart team's help. -

I finished UX foundations and for the price of the boot camp I think it’s well worth it. The mentors are very hands on, you can talk to them through zoom or even in a regular DM. I had one mentor help me through DM around 9pm which I didn’t expect! It just shows that they actually care and actually want to help you. I would say that the course is very heavy with reading, a lot of it is articles so it could be a little more challenging for students with other learning styles but there are also videos showing you different things as well and the actual hands on assignments have alot or instructions and mentors to help for each module. The program after foundations (career jumpstart) has been just as good. They help you with resumes, tracking jobs, you get to do projects with real life companies to add to your resume and again there’s an assigned design mentor added to your projects. With career jumpstart I think the moneys worth it and a lot cheaper than other bootcamps i’ve seen. There’s also a job guarantee so if you don’t get a job you literally get your money back and they still help you even after you got the refund for your money. -

The quick answer is do it! Enroll in the program, is totally worth it! Now the context: I have been a graphic for the past 10 years and ventured intro web design 4 years ago. I recently moved to the US and decided it was time to transition from freelancer to employee. When searching for jobs I had to know code to apply for web design roles. While searching for jobs I noticed there were so many opportunities for UX/UI. I thought I could apply for one of those jobs, since I had a lot of experience with web development, but reading the job description I noticed I had no idea about a lot of things. Internet helped me found Avocademy and I did a long research and decided they were the best alternative to break through this new field. I learned soooooooooooo much in just two months! It’s almost like the Matrix. Obviously I had to work a lot and it was far from easy, especially when working and studying at the same time but it was worth it. Now I feel much more prepared but the best, is that I’m not alone in this quest to break into tech. I have felt the support of Avocademy all along. For me is very valuable since I had few connections here and now I feel like I have the support of a lot of people, which is crucial when searching for jobs. One of the best investments and decisions I’ve made. -

I genuinely do not regret my decision joining Avocademy to learn UX/UI design. If you want to learn about UX/UI design as well as gain experience in what it is like working in this field, I'd seriously recommend this program. Just to give a little background, I had literally no experience in UX/UI design and became interested in it after a friend of mine recommended me to look into this program. Best decision ever! This program gives you the resources needed to do well in this field. Not to mention they have mentors that help you every step of the way. I learned so much in this program and was able to grow as a UX designer. 10/10 experience. -
