From start to finish, the course provides an excellent foundation to understand exactly what UX Design is about and your role as a UX Designer. The theory, techniques, background reading and projects lets you understand exactly what is expected of you in the working world.
The student support team is beyond brilliant. The feedback provided grows with the difficulty of each project and by my final project, I was given extremely patient and in-depth guidance that made me understand how I could improve my final project and how much the details do matter. And they matter a LOT.
If you're working full time and worried about how you can juggle this course, I tackled it while working full time and had to take the year track. They are very patient, do not judge you on your pace and answer all questions with a kindness that any stressed-out student will really appreciate.
My only thoughts on improvement would be having a little more detail on the minor research techniques. The main one (usability testing) was covered in exceptional detail but I believe a few practical projects (even not mandatory) in the others might help improve confidence when applying for jobs (as I do see them listed as a criteria).
Overall, very happy with my experience and as soon as the budget allows, I intend to sign up for their other courses! -

The course content was not only informative but also practical, allowing me to apply what I learned to real-world projects. The guidance and feedback from the instructors were invaluable and greatly contributed to my growth as a UX designer.
One of the standout aspects of the program was the emphasis on user-centered design. It not only taught me how to create user-friendly interfaces but also instilled in me a deep understanding of the user’s perspective.

I recently completed the "Professional Diploma in UX Design," and it was an absolute game-changer for someone like me, who's been tinkering with website design and online businesses for years. My wife pointed me in the direction of this 6-month course, and I'm so glad she did. I now feel I have the knowledge to take my existing (and future) websites to the next level.
The course seamlessly blended theory and hands-on experience through a series of projects that immersed me in real-world design concepts. The short video tutorials were incredibly informative, and the webinars provided valuable insights. What stood out for me was the engaged Slack channel for students – a dynamic space for sharing ideas, troubleshooting, and networking.
The modules were well-structured, making it easy to grasp complex concepts. Overall, a must for anyone serious about taking their UX design skills to the next level. -

I've just earned my Professional Diploma in UX Design and I'd like to share some insights. Feeling the need for change, I was driven to take control of my professional journey. Coming from a visual arts background, human-centred design was a natural fit. After researching and interviewing with representatives from several institutes, the UX Design Institute stood out as the best choice for reaching my next milestone. I'm thrilled with the outcome. The course was seamless, accessible, and packed with learning resources, including webinars led by industry experts. Although building a portfolio presents challenges, I'm equipped with impactful projects and post-graduate career coaching for support. I highly recommend this program and hope others enjoy it as much as I did.

I loved this course with the ux design institute! 😍 The course is clear and precise and you really can't get lost! Of course, you have to be rigorous and do the work and watch the videos, but the team is always there to help and support you! 🔥
As a non-native English speaker, I was still able to follow the course in English without any difficulty because everything is clear and the speakers on the video speak clearly and distinctly! 🙏🏻
The projects are relevant and provide great ux design knowledge! A big thank you to the team for their work and support!
I recommend it with my eyes closed -

I started studying online in July 2022. I had a full-time 4 shift job, but I had time to do the course. It was very essential to me that I could extend the course up to 12 months. Most of the course was very well, but because I am not from Ireland, it takes a little extra focus to understand that variant / dialect of english. On Webinars it is recommended that they use good external microphones and not the laptop mic. The sound was sometimes not the best. I am overall very satisfied, and I jumped on a new course - UX Research. Robert Kvilhaug - Norway -

I've decided to take this course so that I can get my foot in the door as a UX designer, it was so much more than what I expected. I have greatly enjoyed the course. It not only offers a well-structured learning experience through hands-on activities but also provides opportunities to gain insights from seasoned UX designers. Additionally, we have the chance to hear from course graduates about how they successfully landed their first job as UX designers. I'm taking another course from the institute! Five stars all the way! -

Professional Diploma in UX Design
Good course, well structured. Since I didn't come from a design background, the course took me slightly longer than the 6month suggested timetable, but you have course access for 1 year so this was plenty of time. The course work gives a solid base for your portfolio, which is helpful. All tutors/staff were helpful when I reached out to them -

Excellent course, flexible schedule

I was looking to enroll in a UX course that has substance but didn't want to go back to college or university due to the rigid schedules (I've got a full time job & 2 young kids). When I found this course, I got really excited because it lead to a tangible accreditation and allowed me to go at my own pace. It was challenging but incredibly interesting and relevant. I'm really glad I did it. Just to give some context: My background is in UI design and front-end development, therefore I was already familiar with some of the concepts introduced in the lectures but it gave me the tools to back my design decisions. There was also A LOT I didn't know and I was able to apply this newly learned UX knowledge immediately during my day job. I can say with assurance that the course's content is relevant and useful.
Pros:
- Diploma & university credits upon completion.
- Flexible schedule (6-12 months).
- 11 assignments (3 of which are optional) to apply learned knowledge and validate your understanding.
- They host many monthly webinars during which you can get feedback on your assignments before submitting and see what other people's assignments are like. This is helpful to see what type of project and quality is expected.
- The course is divided in 4 blocks (Research, Analysis, Concept & Design) and follows the same sequence as a real-life UX project.
- You have access to Slack channels where you can ask questions, reach out to other students in your cohort, or just look at what UX topics people are talking about. It made me feel a bit more connected.
- If you've been inactive too long, they send you automated reminder emails but without being annoying. I loved that because it kept me in track when a 1 week break turned into 3 :)
- They host webinars with UX professionals in the field and you can ask questions.
- They have a lecture and webinar on how to prepare your portfolio.
Cons:
- I found the "mentors" on slack to be... not great. It really depends who you talk to. I reached out only once and felt like I was shut down, asking me to instead submit my work for review during a webinar.
- Webinars can be helpful before you start working on your own assignment, but I found that the quality of the feedback given really depends on the mentor hosting. I kept hoping for Faolan every webinar because he makes project requirements very clear. No room for interpretation.
- I wish they had been clearer on what the free version of Figma can/cannot do and shared examples of mid-fidelity prototypes as part of the lecture. I would've spent a lot less time trying to figure out how to create the level of interactivity I wanted within Figma. Mind you, I already had experience building interactive prototypes using UXPin...
- The only area where I feel I am lacking now is how to conduct unbiased interview or usability tests. It can be challenging to ask the right questions after a response to get to the core values or to recover from mistakes (leading questions). I wish they had provided more guidance on this and links to examples of good interviews. -

This is an solid course. I chose it mainly because it's university accredited and didn't have that ' bootcamp'-vibe. The course material is good, the lecturers nice to listen to. For me the 6 month schedule did not work so well, because I juggle a fulltime job and a family, but in the end I did graduate. Be prepared to dedicate longer stretches of focused time for the practical part. Personally, I do not think this course prepared me well enough for my current design job - then again, I did not expect it to. Working with designers a lot, I more or less knew what the job was about. I will be honest: although I am lucky enough to be an in-house trainee, still it will take another 6 months till I potentially could reach the junior level my company holds as a requirement for even hiring someone. The UI/visual design part, being able to sketch, wireframe and prototype (using a design system) often, on the spot, and fast, is what you do not learn doing just 1 case study. Also I will really have to skill up on the research and testing part. Another skill that is essential is to present and defend design choices ' en public' to stakeholders - and to gather the feedback and iterate. This, I would say, is one of the most important parts of the job! The theory about this is mentioned in the course but this is sth. you need to practice. All in all, a good foundation. -

Really enjoyable course, that covers the breadth of the UX role - from the fundamentals of UX, to research, analysing research, design and prototyping and all the steps in-between. Gives a good understanding of terminology and process and I especially enjoyed the coursework assignments. This online course meant I could learn at my own pace and fit around my full-time job and it's great to get a University accredited Diploma upon completion. There is an excellent online community and supportive and knowledgeable tutors. -

I recently compleated the UX Design course from Brainstation, and I have to say, it was a great learning experience. My instructors, Naomi and Alberto, were excellent. They were knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to help. The pace of the class was just right - not too fast, not too slow - and the course provided a good balance of overview and introduction to UX design as well as some elements of depth to be able to apply them on real world examples.
One thing I really appreciated about the course was the attention given to project work. Naomi and Alberto made sure to take time to explain and answer all our questions as well as give guidance on the project work. This was incredibly helpful, as it allowed us to apply the concepts we learned in class to real-world scenarios. At the end of the course we even got some good examples of how we could start presenting our portfolio one example cases for a job interview which was very helpful.
Overall, I would highly recommend the UX Design course from Brainstation. Naomi and Alberto, were fantastic, and the course content was relevant and engaging. If you're looking to learn more about UX design, this is definitely a course worth considering. -

I currently work in IT Architecture and was looking for a way to expand my skillset into UX. After some research I decided upon the UX Design Institute Diploma. There were several reasons for this choice, first the course is accredited (which was important to me) and second, I was able to take as long as I needed to complete the course (up to 1 year). This second point was important as having done OU courses in the past I found the deadlines for assignments not always compatible with a fairly hectic work life whereas this is much more flexible.
Having completed the course now I can say I've been impressed with the student support, the content delivery and the projects. I would say that this is unlikely to suit someone who isn't ready to be self directed or put the effort in when it comes to the projects, but you could say that of any course. I also like UXDI's ongoing engagement after the course has finished e.g. career advice interviews, portfolio support and a well managed online alumni community. -

The UX course at Brainstation was very thorough and educational. The breadth of knowledge that was shared was great, and they did a good job of providing plenty of real life examples that made the occasionally dense material that much more digestible.
My instructors were also very knowledgeable and shared their experiences with us in ways that were easy to comprehend. Really appreciate their insights as well as their frequent check ins. -
