A Rollercoaster of Challenges, but Well Worth It
Read more Read less of Leo Daniel's review
This program is rigorous! The first week covers fundamentals of HTML & CSS and the following week requires you to apply and incorporate them in the foundations of a personal portfolio. Frameworks and languages change frequently, often per homework assignment. Assignments are cumulative, so expect to continuously apply what you’ve learned from to week to week. . The pace of the curriculum steadily increases, and will challenge you both physically and mentally.
However, there is an immense amount of support available not only from the instructor and TAs, but the Student Success Coach and the Career Service Counselor. The instructional support team welcomes questions and feedback, and will walkthrough the material at your request. The team strives to be available in-person before and after classes, and via Slack.
By the end of the course, you will have had the opportunity to build your portfolio, making it responsive and mobile-ready with Bootstrap; demonstrating JavaScript and jQuery interactivity; utilizing database architecture with both structured SQL and non-relational noSQL types, like Mongo, and eventually incorporating cutting-edge frameworks like React. Instructors will help you ensure your portfolio demonstrates the breadth of knowledge gained from this course as well as incorporate your own style.
How much you want to learn and apply is entirely up to you. You can do the basics or you can push yourself by taking advantage of tutorials and choosing the more challenging homeworks over the basic requirements. Creativity and teamwork play important roles in this course. While homework assignments are independent, you’re encouraged to discuss concepts with your classmates. Unlike homeworks, projects are completed as a team--consisting of 3-5 classmates. With that being said, teamwork also requires a great deal of scheduling and time management. With the challenges this course presents, it’s best to take initiative and ask for help early from the instructors or your classmates. Overall, this course is super challenging, but super worth it. After this course, you’ll come away with a ton of new knowledge and skills and a portfolio that shows it. If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll make a few friends along the way.
Ultimately with this course you can develop your proficiency and growth, and cultivate a team-oriented mindset as well.
Challenging yourself is the key with this bootcamp. I wholeheartedly recommend this course to all skill levels from novice to intermediate, or anyone looking to build a full-stack web application from scratch for your portfolio.

I couldn't be happier to have gone through this program. It was grueling but I had so much fun that the intensity hardly mattered at all.
To go from only the most basic html and css knowledge to building complex full stack applications with polished UIs, easy to consume API endpoints, fully functional databases, etc in less than six months is something I hardly believed I'd be able to do. However, the teaching staff and curriculum of this program got me there.
I'd recommend this program to anyone serious about learning to write software. I'd also recommend it to anyone willing to work as hard as they've probably ever worked in the span of 6 months to learn really cool technology.
The program was one of the best investments I've ever made in myself. I have the utmost respect and appreciation for the people who went through it with me and the teaching/support staff that got me through it.

I applied to the Coding Boot Camp at UNC after about two years of deliberating whether this was the path for me and researching various programs around the country. My introduction to programming came in 2013, when I took CompSci 101 during my senior year of college. Between then and starting this program, I had done zero actual programming. This course helped take my coding skills from zero to highly competent and fully capable in a matter of months.
The in-person instruction, the extended timeframe, the namebrand recognition, and the varied curriculum attracted me to this program, and I was not disappointed. I couldn't recommend it any more highly to someone considering a full-stack web development boot camp.
In my opinion, the most significant takeaway is a broad and strong foundation in several technologies, which has been established by your instructors and your newfound ability to self-teach complex topics and tackle new challenges through a programmatic lense.
After completing this camp, I feel like I can take myself from total noob to capable coder in whatever technology I need to accomplish an objective. On top of that, I've got a sizable portfolio of work and a hunger to build all kinds of cool things with code.
Big thanks to everyone involved in my cohort's admininstration!

UNC Coding Bootcamp has taught me so much, I went from not knowing HTML to learning and building a full React app. It was challenging at first but I stuck it out and pushed through it. I signed up for a tutor and forced myself to stay consistent every week. The instructional team was wonderful and very supportive. Lisa, our student success manager was wonderful, she was always there if you needed to talk. If I could change one thing about my experience I would commit to working closely with career services early on. Since graduating, I am now working with my profile coach to update my resume and portfolio to help me land my dream job.Boot Camp Team of UNC-Chapel Hill Boot Camps

This program was one of the most rewarding educational experiences I have ever gone through. The course is fast paced and challenging, but if you are looking to understand how to build a web application from the ground up, this program will give you the tools.
The instructional team was knowledgeable and friendly. They did a great job of breaking down complicated concepts into understandable pieces. Additionally, I appreciated that they would thoroughly review your code to provide feedback and encourage best practices.
The course does a great job of giving students the knowledge needed to succeed in building actual applications. How far you take those applications though will be on you. Their goal is to give you the building blocks upon which you can establish a successful developing skillset.
The course will not teach you every programming language. However, it does teach you how to approach learning new skills, implementing tools, and understanding other documentation. It is very much the "teach you how to fish" model.
If you are looking to learn how to build an actual web application and are willing to put in the work, I would highly recommend this program.

I had an excellent experience with the UNC Full Stack Flex program.
After 8 years in a career pushing paper for the government, I decided I couldn't live that mundane cubicle life any longer. I had no previous coding experience outside a couple Codecademy tutorials before the session started, and the Monday following graduation I started a new position at a local software development company as a Software Engineer.
I put in many (many... many... many...) hours of study and practice during those 6 months, and I'd bet that just about anyone who put in that level of extraordinary effort is highly likely to get extraordinary results as well.
My instructor was outstanding! He had an unbelievable ability to explain new concepts as if I was 5, as well as illustrate high level programming paradigms in a way that I could process.
What I consider to be the best feature of this bootcamp is the curriculum. Some would argue that coding bootcamps can't teach you anything you couldn't learn on your own freely. Although I respect that opinion, I believe it to only be true in theory.
This bootcamp hit all of the essential highlights for the skills required of employable developers today -- in a time frame and at a skill level that I (and I'd say others) wouldn't be able to achieve on their own.
I wouldn't say that everyone should be a developer... but if you do want to be a developer, this bootcamp can certainly be the roadmap to a new career in the least possible amount of time.

I attended The Coding Boot Camp at UNC-Chapel Hill beginning May 2018 and ending Nov 2018. I enjoyed this experience tremendously; however to me it was very tough. I had been a programmer for 20 years, but then got laid off and knew that I needed some extra training on newer technologies for the future. I did the "Full Stack Developer" track. My recommendation is that if you pick up on things very fast, this will go well for you. If you have a background coding in IT, that will help. I struggled because I'm a "smart" normal person (not a genius), and I needed a little more time working with the technologies in order to get good at them. But of course, we only had 6 months. The instructor was very nice and very knowledgeable about everything. He did speak with an accent, but it was not too difficult to understand (he is from Turkey). I thought the price was very reasonable compared with some I had checked into. But if you decide to do this, make sure that you GET A TUTOR, especially for the back-end. You will probably need it. I spent as much time and more than a full-time job doing this. The frustration was when I got stuck on something and needed help. Usually the TAs will help out before, during, and after class, but on slack it was hard to find someone who could help. And I lived over an hour away.

Overall, WOW! What an experience. I literally changed my life! Trilogy has been awesome and everyone in the process is so supportive. You NEED TO PUT THE WORK IN! This course is FAST, HARD, INTENSE, and IN DEPTH! But, if you are willing to put the hours in every single week (30 - 40+) you will succeed and be on the way to new levels of personal and career success and opportunity. I just finished the boot camp and would totally do it again! In fact, I loved it so much I begin TA'ing for the program next week! If you want to take a chance at a better life and want to push yourself to put the work in and learn the technologies presented in class the decision to take the boot camp is a no brainer!

I just graduated from the UNC Coding Bootcamp about a week ago and it's one of the best things I've ever done for myself. The class was HARD, no joke, when they tell you the pace is fast, believe them...it's FAST!
However, if you hold on for the ride and just embrace it, you will come out at the end with a huge foundation of knowledge. I've talked to several developer friends who are very impressed with the material I've learned (the volume and also the fact that the material is actually relevant and currently in high demand within the industry).
My instructor was great...personable, knowledgable, funny, easy to talk to, he was always available to answer questions or re-explain a concept. He really made the class fun...I always looked forward to it. Plus, we had two TA's in our class, and I had a personal tutor I met with on Zoom every week (included in the program). I also really loved the connections I made with my fellow students, we bonded quickly and were always helping each other out as well. Plenty of resources were made available when we needed extra help.
I am not yet an expert (I had zero experience with web dev when I started), but I have a really solid foundation now. There are concepts I need to review again, I need to keep learning, but there's A LOT that I know how to do and that feels amazing!
This experience will be what you make of it...you will need to put in a lot of work outside of class time. Everyone is different, but I would have had a very difficult time keeping up with class if I had been working full time. Do yourself a favor and get a head start with webistes like W3Schools.com and freecodecamp.org...especially if you're a newbie. That is something I wish I would have done, it would have really helped to atleast be familiar with terms and concepts before day one.
The only not great experience for me was career services...but again, this is what you make of it. We never got a chance to meet the career people in person and that doesn't work with my personality. I felt they were removed and not really a part of the whole experience. Because of this, I didn't participate fully in this aspect of the class. I'm sure if I had tried harder, I would have gotten more out of it...but I just never felt a connection with those folks, so it wasn't all that helpful to me.
Overall, I am 100% glad I took this class, zero regrets. I have gained SO much knowledge, met so many great people and I know that I have the skills I need to get a job I love and earn a great living!

I came into this program with only a small amout of prior programming experience. And that mostly came from online courses and sites learning on my own. After a lot of research into other programs in the area I settled on the UNC boot camp and I'm glad to say I'm not disappointed. I began the course barely able to put up a simple web page and left writing and deploying stand alone web applications complete with server code and a database. Attending Trilogy's Bootcamp was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I had tried numerous times on my own to learn to program unsuccessfully. Within six months Trilogy took me from a novice to a professional full stack software developer.
The most valuable aspects of the program are the highly-researched curriculum focused on relevant software technologies, challenging weekly assignments creating full applications, experienced teachers and teacher assistants who are enthusiastic about the material and work hard to make sure students fully understand the concepts, and a student success manager who is dedicated to ensure students succeed and have a great experience throughout the program.
The program teaches a lot of material in a very short amount of time, but it is manageable and you are even able to work full-time while completing the program. I recommend the Bootcamp to anyone who wishes to come out with the confidence and skills needed to build full-stack applications from scratch and to learn new technologies quickly.

Honestly its a lot of work and can be intense at times. They call it a boot-camp for a reason, but its so much more than that. I refer to more as in immersion in programming. If you're looking to go into something that will challenge you and frustrate you every day computer programming is the career for you. The boot-camp helps you get used to not knowing anything and learning how to leverage resources outside of class like you would have to work on a real-world project. Short and simple version:
Great boot camp. It's tough, there's a lot of material, and it will require a lot of discipline and work on your part. That being said, it'll take you from 0 to professional entry level developer in 6 months if you put in the work into two areas: 1) Learning/practicing the material, and 2) building your professional presence. In my opinion and experience, it is worth the cost and time. I secured a Software Engineering job less than 1 month after graduation. Prior to the course, I had 0 dev experience.
Long version:
This is a great boot camp for anybody looking to switch careers or just to learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (specifically JavaScript - this is a JavaScript intensive course. There is 1 week on C#, but the vast majority of libraries, frameworks, and tech in this course is centered around JS.). Not only that, the layout enables you to keep your job while the course is underway. The teachers and TAs are all very knowledgable, and the class room setting is great as well. Tons of activities, paired programming, and a few projects really drive home the material. Our Student Success Manager and Career Advisor were also great and helpful. I came in with no prior coding experience, so the first month was the most difficult for me just to grasp the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. After that first month of getting used to the class and homeworks, and also learning on my own outside of class (Udemy.com - outside learning is important), you kinda hit a groove and start picking up the more complex stuff quicker and having a bunch of those 'aha' moments. It's amazing today to see the apps I can build in only 6 months of training.
I'm a skeptical person. I definitely had my skepticism about paying for this course and wondering if the investment would pay off in a job in 6 months...seemed too good to be true. At the end of the day, it's up to you and your effort/drive as to whether or not the investment will pay off. I have a few friends from the course that are now successfully in dev jobs - so this definitely will prepare you for dev roles and companies definitely do hire boot camp graduates. LinkedIn recruiters will reach out to you frequently once you get towards the end of the course. To me (I was in finance prior to my career change), any investment where I can completely control the rate of return is a great one. If you have the drive and desire to put in the time, I highly recommend the UNC Coding Boot Camp.

I am a March graduate of the UNC Coding Bootcamp. I took the Bootcamp in order to return to my "roots" as a software developer, after 20 years of project and IT Professional Services management. I'm glad I took this Bootcamp -- it is head and shoulders above the alternatives.
The Bootcamp's strong points are these:
- Training in current software frameworks and technologies.
- Excellent, well-written, and challenging exercises and homework.
- Hands-on development. Instruction is emphatically not "death by powerpoint". You will write a lot of code!
- We had a terrific instructor, one of those rare individuals who was born to teach. Our instructor has extensive experience as a developer and as a manager of development teams at a major corporation. That experience, plus enthusiasm and the ability to explain complex topics, made class presentations compelling and enjoyable.
- TA support. There were, usually, 3 TAs -- all veteran developers -- for 32 students. Thus (and including the instructor) we had an 8:1 student/faculty ratio. As a result, it was easy to get help and that help was given by people who know what they are doing.
- A Student Success Manager (SSM) who worked very hard to ensure each of us had a great experience. Our SSM was always available, responsive to questions, and committed to our success.
To conclude, this is a professionally run and supported Bootcamp that provides a quality educational experience, focused on currently-relevant software technology.
There are, of course, a few improvements I'd make -- more focus on ES6 Javascript, React.js, Angular, and removing the C# module. But these are nits. I know that Trilogy Ed, who runs the course, is always trying to improve it. I'm confident it will continue to provide excellent, relevant training.
If you fully participate in every class and do all the homework you will acquire solid software development tools. To become a true software developer you must do additional reading and research, as well as gain on-the-job experience, but these requirements are true for any profession. The Coding Bootcamp will give you the tools you need to progress down your professional path.
Knowing what I know now, would I take the Coding Bootcamp again -- absolutely! I am very grateful to the Instructor, TAs, and our SSM for their help and dedication to my success.

This was a very challenging 24-week course, but also very rewarding. The UNC coding bootcamp is the best way to experience an overall full-stack understanding of modern web development while also still working full-time. We used all of the common tools (git & github, slack, trello, heroku, sublime/atom) that developers use right from day one. While fast paced, we incrementally built our knowledge and skills in a very digestible timeframe. The opportunity to be a part of a cohort in a classroom with excellent supportive instructors and staff is invaluable to learning. Boot camp was a great learning experience and lot of fun.
The classroom material and homework exercises are excellent.
I am pretty sure they will serve as handy references for years to come. I love the fact that everythign will be accessible after completing the class.
I learned lot of new concepts and refreshed some of my older concepts about web development.I have already started using node in developing microservice architecture for my devops activities.
The classes are rightly paced. Nick is an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable and approachable, always ready to help.
Ilyssa is a great help. Because of her help and encouragement I was able to get more than 100% from this course

Input. Do work. Output.

My experience with coding going into bootcamp was coordinating with an international development firm to release two apps on the App Store, and utilizing Postman & JSON to run payroll at my last company. I had never tried to code before outside of that, and I thought it would be an impossible skill to learn this late in my educational journey. I started by buying and reading a copy of "Coding for Dummies" from Barnes & Noble, and by the time our first homework rolled around I began to think I was in a bit over my head. However, as our Professor Stanley Lewis taught us on day one, Input -> Do Work -> Output. While I didn't understand the meaning of this on day one, by the end of the course I knew that if you work a problem long enough you will get a desired output. It may not be what you originally expected it to be, but it will be an output nonetheless. I think one of the most valuable aspects of this course for me was realizing that even the smallest errors -- a single character -- can crash even the most sophisticated of computer programs. Coding, just like in real life, is all about the little things. Further, this course taught me that for every problem, for every error log you get, there is always an answer and there is always a path forward. I believe those two aspects are important to take not only into your coding journey, but throughout your life as well. I can't thank my instructional staff enough for this experience and for giving me the opportunity to challenge myself in a different frontier. -

I am so glad I took this course. I quit my job without knowing what I was going to do next. I created a rack card for my mom's business and that led me to digital marketing. I found this digital marketing bootcamp and wasn't sure at first, but now I can't imagine not having taken it.
Heather was so knowledgeable, and it was great to hear her own experiences working in digital marketing. It was beneficial to also have two great TAs (Melinda and Maggie) to help us with the material and learn from their professional experiences too. In a short time, instructors and students created a real bond and community and learned a lot from each other. All three really wanted to help us and see us do well, not only in the course but long after as well.
Great job, Heather and team, and thank you so much for everything!

I decided to pursue web development as a career change after being a teacher for 8 years. After taking a long time to decide, I chose this boot camp because I figured having an actual university on my resume would look better than whatever other boot camps call themselves, even if it won't necessarily fool hiring managers (of course they'll know it's a boot camp, and will likely know it's run through Trilogy). Plus I live near Raleigh, which made it feel a bit more "local", even though it's fully remote now.
I had a wonderful experience with the course. The instructional staff was outstanding and always helpful. Your staff may be different so I won't mention names, but everyone was amazing. TAs are often willing to help outside of class office hours. There is 24/7 access to online support, 30 minutes each of pre- and post-class office hours for getting extra help from the instructor and TAs, and optional hour-long weekly tutoring sessions.
The curriculum is overall quite good, and covers a wide variety of technologies. It starts from the very beginning, goes through some older but still widely-used technologies (in case you need to understand them for a future job) and ends with the most current and in-demand technologies used in a huge portion of the modern web. I gave "curriculum" 4 stars only because sometimes there are some small typos or bad practices in the instructional code. The instructors were always good at pointing these out, however, and those errors were often used as an additional learning experience. Still, though, it'd be good if those things were fixed.
Even as a six-month boot camp, it's really fast-paced. It's meant for people who work, but truly, the most successful students will be those who do NOT have a full-time job - those who can dedicate a lot of time each day outside of class to working on their assignments, projects, personal development, employer-readiness and job search materials, etc. That said, if you have a full time job, you'll survive. But unless you're already experienced with coding, you will do just that - survive. I had a full-time job throughout the course, and actually became much busier toward the end, which was really unfortunate for my learning. The last month or two is when you need to have the most time available, as it becomes much more complex at the end. I highly recommend the boot camp, but only if you are sure you have the time. If you can devote a lot of extra time to practicing, the course will absolutely help you learn everything you need to get started toward a career in web development.Boot Camp Team of UNC-Chapel Hill Boot Camps

I just completed the UNC Full Stack Coding Bootcamp and it was the best decision I could make for my career and professional development! I decided to work full-time and complete the program, so I will say it was a ROUGH 6 months. Even though it is advertised as "part time" it feels like a full time job because you dedicate anywhere from 15-25 hours a week on the program. Do not let this deter you, just be prepared for the stress. I ended up doubling my salary, and landed a great job the day before graduation. The curriculum was well thought out, the weekly homeworks and activities did a great job utilizing the skills/concepts we learned, and my instructional team was absolutely amazing (shoutout to Lisa, Noah, Tom and Aly).
My only complaint was I felt that career services was too slow/not proactive and did not provide great feedback on "milestones" (resume, linkedIn, portfolio). I had my submitted materials reviewed by a tech recruiter, who felt I was not given great advice. I know this is subjective, but this is just my experience and opinion. I also wasn't able to meet with my advisor until after I had found a job. Her availability was so limited (not her fault - maybe overworked?) it took a month to get on the calendar, so I ended up taking on the job hunting process with the help of my instructors and recruiters I connected with on LinkedIn.
Overall, this is hard work, especially if you have a job and personal life, but it is worth it. The sooner you start, the sooner you finish and move on the better opportunities.Boot Camp Team of UNC-Chapel Hill Boot Camps

I couldn't have asked for a better experience with this Boot Camp. I did do some self-taught HTML/CSS before committing to make sure this was something I was really interested in first, which I suggest as this isn't a cheap commitment.
This is a fast-paced course with lots of material to cover so plan to devote at least 10-15 hours a week to study/homework outside of class. Our instructor was extremely knowledgable on all subject matter and the support received from the instructor, TAs and tutor was above and beyond. This course can be challenging and the work can be frustrating at times, but if you complete all of the homework, with assistance from TAs or tutor if needed, then expect to leave this course with lots of useful knowledge and technologies/programs to add to your resume. As you're completing your homework and projects, you're basically building your own portfolio.
The Boot Camp was built with a goal for all graduates to land a job in the field. Career Services is very involved with resume, portfolio, LinkedIn, etc. help. They provided a workshop almost daily centered around finding tech based careers.

I found the course via word of mouth from a peer who went through the course. She had nothing but good things to say in regards to the relevancy of the curriculum, and the doors it opened for her.
Being only three months in, I can already confirm that this has been the best investment of both time and money that I have made since completing my undergrad degree in Finance.
From other Developers that I have spoken with, and the communities that I browse online, what we are learning / have learned is exactly what the Software Development industry is demanding. The relevancy of the course material is what I appreciate the most.
The course has taken us through the front end of Web Development, beginning with the basics of HTML, CSS, Bootstrapping, and Javascript. Then, we moved towards creating command line applications by leveraging the power of Node.js. Now we have reached the backend portion of the full stack curriculum. It is fast paced, truly a bootcamp. But if you are of the mindset that you want to make a better professional life for yourself, or even pursuit independent entrepreneurial endeavors that may revolve around creating online applications, then this is the place to start.
Lastly, my advice to any applicants would be to be both disciplined, and excited. This is a chance for you to learn something that you enjoy doing, while challenging your standard train of thought. It will become a lifestyle, and studying won't feel like studying anymore, because the course will always leave you yearning for more.

The 24-week coding experience was an awesome game changer for me. I attended school with some of the most knowledgeable cohorts, in addition to, the smartest TA's - Noah, Tim, Zach and Paul.
One of my most unforgettable and touching class observations, was viewing a fellow student struggling. Alper, our instructor, observed it, too. So, he walked over and pulled up a chair to sit beside him. Alper, sat with the student until he was able to understand the new material.
Lastly, Lisa. Lisa, was always thoughtful, uplifting and kind. She would sometimes Slack words of encourgement (because life will show up) to let me know, I was not alone on my journey.
This was truly a game changer, and I'm glad I decided to take the leap of faith. The people you will meet, I promise you, have the potential in becoming your rock.

The Coding Bootcamp through Chapel Hill was professional, challenging and extremly informative . When I decided to perform a career pivot I looked at several options for bootcamps and decided to apply to the UNC program due to UNC's reputation for collegiate academics. I was not dissapointed!! The program itself is extremely challenging, especially to someone like myself with little to no experience within the web developement community. I was supported throughout the entire process by career services, student support services, the instructor and our ta's. They all take time to ensure you understand the material and excell. The program takes you in-depth through the different parts of web developement from the basics of HTML, CSS and Javascript to Mongo, Node applications and React. The coursework is challenging but through the homework and class projects you are set appart from others with a Professional Portfolio you and your future employers will be proud of. If you are looking to make a career change, would like to futher your current knowledge of web developement or just enjoy tinkering within the industry I would highly recommend this program.

I completed the bootcamp in May of 2018. After graduation, I worked for Trilogy as a Teaching Assistant as well as a Video Curriculum Engineer on their Enterprise Curriculum Team, and I recently got offered a position as a UX Developer with Fidelity.
Overall Experience:
I had a good overall experience in terms of the sheer amount of material that I learned throughout the course as well as in securing a job in the field afterwards. A++ to my Instructors, Student Success Manager, and the new Career Services Director.Incoming Knowledge:
I came in with almost no experience, but this course made it easy to succeed with the right amount of effort outside of class (which absolutely varies from student to student). I did work during the bootcamp as well, which was difficult but manageable.
Course Advice:
Even though this is a part-time course with only ten hours a week of in-class time, what you put in outside of class is essential for success. From experience in my own cohort and from being a TA, it is pretty consistent that the people who put in the most work outside of class are the most successful (including students who work hard being more successful than students with prior knowledge). The course sets you up very nicely to learn how to learn, but there is so much information out there that you need to be prepared to take the class activities and use them as a jumping off point for deeper learning. Additionally, you can do just enough learning to get through the homework, but spending the extra time while you're in the cohort and have the instructors as resources is pretty invaluable in terms of growing your coding skillset for life after the bootcamp.
Final piece of advice: do not get behind. Keep up with the classwork and homework, because the courseload grows expoentially as you dive into more difficult subjects, add projects, and start job hunting. With that in mind, if you are ever struggling, there is one other huge perk to the bootcamp, which is access to free(!) tutors who can work with you outside of class.
Career Services:
I would have given career services no stars because they were completely unhelpful during my cohort. However, the new director who has taken over is terrific! She made the effort to follow up with former graduates like myself, had incredibly useful advice for job hunting, and is as hands-on or hands-off as you prefer in terms of scheduling followups and coachings.
Post Graduation:
I got funneled into working for Trilogy almost right away, which was a great way to get my foot in the door in the development world. You will come out of the bootcamp with a lot of knowledge and skills, but very little experience on your resume. However, If you are persisitent about keeping up with your learning (show that on github!), actively working on side projects (again with the github), practicing talking about what you know (maybe buy a whiteboard...), and being proactive about your job search (make a spreadhseet), you will definitely be set up to find a good job!TLDR:
This course is definitely worth it! You get what you put in.Boot Camp Team of UNC-Chapel Hill Boot Camps

The UNC full-stack coding bootcamp is one of my favorite memories of being a student. It taught me the skills to learn new technologies fast. I landed a full-time, well-paid, internship at the end of the course and used the skills that I learned to continue growing as a developer. As an example, I learned Wordpress, Twig, Timber, and a bit of PHP within the course of a week and a half in order to build a web-page for the new company website. I would not have had the confidence to do this if it had not been for my experience at the UNC bootcamp. The professors and TAs were extremely supportive. Whenever I needed help they were there to assist. I never got the feeling that I was stupid when I did not get anything, because it was taught that coding is HARD and that even if you don't get it right away you WILL get it eventually as long as you keep practicing it and keep working hard.

I had a very positive experience with the UNC Web Development Bootcamp. Like many other students, I didn't know quite what to expect; however, the Bootcamp exceeded my expectations, particulary with the instructional staff and overall curriculum.
My instructor was fantastic. He was able to teach to both novice and experienced developers alike. Not only did the instructor present the material in an engaging way, he always refered to instances in the real-world where the concepts would apply.
The curriculum is mult-faceted, which was my favorite part of the bootcamp. The lessons cater to new programmers, however, they also provide additional depth for programmers with some background. While a novice developer will benefit tremendously from this course, I would recommend that anyone interetested in the bootcamp look into basic javaScript concepts first. I had some previous development experience, and this allowed me to grow substantially as a developer during my 6 months with the bootcamp.
The TA's were also fantastic. They were all patient and knowledgeable, and provided great real-world insight into the material.
Overall, I would recommend this Bootcamp to anyone looking to level-up as a web developer and javaScript programmer. Note - to succeed, even with some previous experience, the program requires a substantial time commitment. I would absolutely do it again!
