Great Way to Jump Start Your Career as a Developer

The Udacity Frontend Developer Nanodegree program provided an excellent education for helping me get a jump start on my web development career. Prior to joining the program, I only had experience project managing and assisting on minor development tasks. After completing the program, I was able to get a full time role as a web developer and am now working at an international tech company.
My favorite parts of the program were the online mentor, code reviews and the strong team of instructors who provide thorough explanations of complex concepts, giving you a full understanding of how things work. In addition, there are several job search resources available to help you position yourself in the industry.
I would highly recommend the Udacity Frontend Developer Nanodegree for someone looking for a fast and affordable way to get a job in web development.

UDACITY Review (Self-Driving Car ND and Flying Car ND)
Read more Read less of Alexander Menshchikov's review
First of all, I need to say that I finished two ND programs, and they significantly pushed my skills forward!
Pros.
1. The school gives both a broad and deep understanding of all the necessary disciplines behind such an emerging area as self-driving cars. It includes Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Sensor Fusion, Dynamics, Estimation and Control, etc.
2. Mentors give comprehensive advises and always ready to support. You have a high-skilled professional to help you. There are also many ways to interact with other students and discuss study problems. The classroom already has an "embedded" forum and analogs of "Slack" and "Stackoverflow." It is handy to rapidly find the student who stuck on the same issue or, probably, resolved it.
3. The courses are not limited by coding only. It also has a practical part. For example, in SDC ND, we had a team project. The group of five coders, spread around the world from Brazil to China, created the autopilot for a self-driving car in the simulator. Later on, this code was tested on the real Self-Driving Car in UDACITY!!! And now, I have a video proof of our code, tested on Carla (SDC)!!! To sum up, I gained highly valued experience of work in an international team and creating the code for a real car - it is a "cherry on top" of my resume!
4. Career Coaches give a very deep insight into career development and job change personally for you! Before the discussion, they have already reviewed the CV, Linkedin, and have a solution for you.
Cons.
1. The price is high and probably higher than many other boot camps. However, UDACITY worth it.

I never understood programming in general until I took the Android Basics course on Udacity. The instructors hand-fed us with concepts that were very easy to understand and digest and the curriculum was arranged in a way that ensured maximum engagement and benefit. Also, I was encouraged to learn at my own pace and I can't stress enough how much this helped me. When I had a problem and I was stuck, the mentors were available 24/7 and it was good to be able to chat with them and receive pointers from them... This has been my best online school. -

Data Analyst Nanodegree
I have completed a Data Analyst Nanodegree course offered by Udacity. It was a 6 month long course. The course starts with very basic Python and gradually increases the difficulty level to deep dive into Data Wrangling, EDA etc. It's a good starting point if you want to continue the journey to learn Machine Learning.

My Udacity Front End Web Developer Nanodegree was one of the best investments of my time I made in 2018.
The courses were taught by the best facilitators and what stood out most about them was the ease of understanding of the concepts taught.
I will easily recommend Udacity for anyone wanting an online course experience they won't forget in a haste.

Self Driving Engineer Nano Degree

You can't learn about self driving vehicle technology and science better than you can learn it from this program at Udacity, unless you are graduating from the Stanford University lab, where Dr. Thurn developed the first self driving car ever.
That should say it all. How do I know ?
I have been in embedded software engineering for 25 years and this course covers all that one needs to be an effective autonomous vehicle engineer.
Dr. Thurn and its team have the uncanny ability to explain complex topics with a functional, effective, practical approach, that will give you a concrete understanding of the math and algorithms required to work and design autonomous vehicles. The projects are well done and the the fact Udacity actually has engineers double check your work, rather than just rely on your peers' feedback like other online learning sites do, is key to make your learning experience effective and validated, but most of all, taken seriously from actual employers. The topics you will learn are state of the art.
Note: the approach taken is the LIDAR based one (you will learn what that is, if you don't know yet) rather than the cameras only based one, which is Tesla's approach to self driving vehicles. Nowhere in the course is the debate about what is the best approach introduced or discussed. The industry, beside Tesla, has decided to go LIDAR.
It still remains to be seen which approach will ultimately win... so to speak.Important to understand is that Tesla is the only company that has decided to drop the LIDAR, but even Tesla would appreciate your understating of how LIDARs work, should you consider applying for a job there.
Everybody else will require you to understand how LIDARs fit into an autonomous vehicle approach.
If you want to learn about self driving vehicle technology so to have a real world opportunity to make it your job, then this is the course for you.

The Front End Nanodegree helped me to fill several front-end skill gaps and helped me to code a website that now has thousands of users. The projects were challenging and I worked hard to complete them. I felt the course was pretty comprehensive compared to front end courses I have tried on popular platforms. I don't think any bootcamp or course can fully prepare you for developing software for the real world but my experience learning in Udacity's nanodegree was an excellent return on investment for me. If you are able to be somewhat independent in your pursuit of knowledge, I see no reason to throw thousands of dollars away on bootcamps when you can simply sign up at udacity which has up to date material and acutal people mentoring and reviewing your work as you go.

Good topics, but excessive price

During this last year I enrolled myself in the Deep Learning Nanodegree program. This program is an introductory course to AI related topics, and I must recognize that it was very well developed: background topics and progressive concepts are very well explained. Indeed it was a very good introduction to AI world. Additional links or bibliography is always present in order to get a deeper knowledge about the different topics. After this course, different other courses are available to become an expert in the matter.
My initial idea was precisely to complement this introductory course with other ones. Problem is that in the middle, prices of courser were considerably risen. From $500 dollars to $800 (approx). This makes me think that although the courser it was good, the price is not worth it. I had the feeling that this courser was unidirectional: you watch the videos, read the text, and do the exercises. But no more. Although different mentors were assigned to you, no one of them asked me if I needed something, or nobody helped me. There’s a kind of forum, but not very useful in any case. There’s no interaction with your mentor or your colleagues.
So, yes, the course it was great, but I think that new prices are very expensive to watch a few of videos. I need something more to justify the new prices (about $800-$900)

Excellent Hands On Digital Marketing Experience
Read more Read less of Vedran Leder's review
The most important thing to land a job in digital marketing is having experience. And how to get experience when just starting and without having a job already?
Digital Marketing Nanodegree is probably the only Course where you can get that experience since you will work on real projects and run paid advertising campaigns that no other course includes!
And on top of it all, you will get professional feedback on your work to really give you valuable insights and knowledge about the work you have done.
For me, Number 1 recommendation for anyone who wants to get hands-on with learning and not just passively watch some videos without the chance to apply the knowledge. -

I started learning with Udacity about 2 years ago. Back then I was a business analyst interested in becoming a data scientist. So I decided to take the data scientist nanodegree. It came out to be an excellent program for those who want to start a career in data science: the first term is focused on machine learning and the second one covers even more helpful and important topics. Thanks to this nanodegree I started to write articles and deploying my models with simple web apps. I started to build my own portfolio.
Udacity also offers scholarship opportunities. Those are incredible. Participation in Secure and Private AI Scolarship with Facebook helped me to connect to brilliant scholars from all over the world and start participation in own open source project.
Today I am working as a Data Scientist in one of the most famous IT companies in Silicon Valley. This is the best job I ever had. I want to thank Udacity for helping me to change my whole life :) -

Machine Learning Engineer Course Experience

Good:
The curriculum was broad and quite complete. You get started with the first module of introducing machine learning in general. Then you will be exposed to probably most types of machine learning techniques. From supervised learning to deep learning. So quite worthwhile if you want one course to get know of broad these machine learning techniques. Another good thing about the Udacity course was, the feedback given after submission. The feedback from markers can help you to learn and allows you to correct misunderstood concepts.
Bad:
There are coursework or projects for each machine learning technique module. It is a positive point for this online course. However, some project did not expect you to make a fully functional end product. For example, the reinforcement learning project we have to try implementing this technique to fly a simulated drone. So it ended up many students complaint or got confused why they couldn't make it work. Then the instructor advises us that they didn't expect us to submit one that really works. Thus, I felt that some coursework or project was not well planned. or not fit for the purpose. Basically, if you look for building something amazing and works to show your employer or friends then maybe not as you expected.

I took the Udacity NLP nanodegree when I was in the process of looking for jobs after my graduate program. As an AI major I do believe that the Nanodegree alone is not sufficient to build your skills in the field of AI. However, the Nanodegree does have a good structure of the most important concepts required to learn NLP. The Nanodegree will give you a good headstart for NLP. Since the focus is on new learners as well, the instructurs work very hard to make the content accessible. That can have its drawbacks and the most important drawback is the lack of rigor. Despite all of the flaws, if you are looking to start your career in NLP and you want to know the most important topics that you can further learn from the internet, I would recommend this Nanodegree. If you are in the market for a job in NLP and you want to do this degree, then I wouldn't recommend it. I would recommend that you spend at least 6 months of training in the actual fundamentals before attempting this Nanodegree.

A great experience!
I thought that I was going to have difficulties with the statistics. But fortunately not only didn't have problems but also fill in some gaps that I had.
Python was awesome, of course!
And in the end, it was SQL. The first and last lesson was easy to follow. The lessons in between need more attention and practise, at least from me.
Thanks for the opportunity that you gave me through the scholarship!

I am currently enrolled in the Intro to machine learning course. The main reason I went with Udacity is because when I was reading the course syllabus I liked that the goal of the course was to teach the curriculum as well as create a job-ready portfolio of projects . I thought this was very valuable to take to an interview. You can find the course syllabus here
Currently we are learning how to use decision trees to predict states within the supervised learning module.PROS:
Overall I am satisfied with the course, I feel that the price of the course was on par with the level of education I am currently receiving.
The classes are not boring, the instructors definitely know how to liven up what can sometimes be boring material.CONS:
It's online so it is hard to stay focused sometimes
