Re:coded was an amazing opportunity for me to start learning frontend development from scratch. It's been an exceptional experience that gifted me with great pathway for personal growth as well as a tremendous push to start a new professional development journey.
    • The carreer mentoring experience was beyond valuable thanks to my mentor as well as the whole team behind the crucial career readiness skills.

    • The boot camp may not be beginner-friendly for many since the pace will go super fast for people who come from different non-tech backgrounds like me, it demands a lot of resilience, time, and commitment, yet still needs to cover some topics before jumping to advanced ones. The hands-on projects were amazing for learning and enriching your portfolio, yet can be very difficult for a beginner, so do your best to learn from your teammates and ask your instructors when they're available.

I recommend it to anyone seriously and diligently invested in becoming a front-end developer.

My journey at Re:Coded Bootcamp has been an extraordinary experience, enriched by the unwavering support of our exceptional trainers and the bonds that transformed fellow learners into lifelong friends and mentors.

Re:Coded is more than just a learning platform, it's a tight-knit community where diverse perspectives and shared goals thrive.
Under the guidance of our dedicated instructors - Salah Al-Dhaferi, Menar Selamet, and Hiba Machfej - I've not only gained technical and soft skills proficiency but also found invaluable mentors who felt like family members. We've shared laughter and funny moments, transcending geographical boundaries by teaching them our dialect. Game nights and movie sessions brought us closer, creating priceless memories together.
Our Program Officer, Mariam Eskander, has played a pivotal role in our journey, offering unwavering support and guidance as we navigated the complexities of tech education. The comprehensive support provided, whether technical, emotional, or career-related, has been nothing short of tremendous.

I never expected something to be this good. Re:Coded’s community and experience were truly one of a kind. I loved the whole journey; no matter how hard coding seemed for me as a beginner with the right environment anything is possible and even fun with Re:Coded. Everything was smoothly planned and crafted by the trainers who are ( empathetic, supportive, and fun ) and I genuinely grew to love my trainers because they cared about everyone’s success and were always there every step of the way relentlessly helping, the curriculum was smartly catered from building the right foundation and gradually growing to what is trendy and what the market demands. The lessons were challenging but manageable. My favorite part about Re:Coded are the office hours and the 1:1 sessions we get with our trainers where they help us in technical, emotional and even answer all our questions; we bond and have fun as well. The career prep sessions were amazing because of the wonderful and influential instructors our program officer brought for us. They are trainers who are in the field so we get the best advice on what to do to succeed in our career life. I am forever thankful for Re:coded and never forgetting the advice they gave us since day one and that’s to believe in ourselves.

My experience at Re:coded Bootcamp was nothing short of transformative. The five months I spent there were filled with learning, growth, and camaraderie. The instructors were incredibly supportive and fostered a learning environment where everyone felt comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

As someone with no prior coding experience, I was initially apprehensive about my ability to succeed in web development. However, Re:coded's comprehensive curriculum and expert instructors guided me through the process, proving that even a non-degree holder like myself could thrive in this field.

Beyond the technical training, Re:coded also provided invaluable career support services, helping me polish my resume, hone my interviewing skills, and navigate the job market.

The friendships I formed during the Bootcamp journey were an added bonus, making the experience even more enriching.

However, I have a concern about the way Re:coded handles students who are struggling to complete the capstone project. In the last month of the Bootcamp, some students were not able to complete the capstone project, because they weren't studying enough. The instructors then gave these students a small project to do on their own. I understand that the instructors wanted to help these students graduate, but I think this is unfair to the other students who worked hard to complete the capstone project. I believe that students who are not able to complete the capstone project should not be allowed to graduate with a Re:coded certificate.

I wholeheartedly recommend Re:coded to anyone seeking a fulfilling career in web development. Their high-quality program, experienced instructors, and supportive staff are sure to guide you towards success.

I hope Re:coded continues to expand its reach, providing more individuals with the opportunity to transform their lives through tech education. Their impact on diversifying the tech industry is truly remarkable.

    Life-Changing Frontend Developer Bootcamp Experience

I completed the 5-month Frontend Developer Bootcamp provided by Re:Coded, and I can confidently say it was a transformative experience. Coming from a background in the Science (Molecular Biology & Genetics) department with zero prior coding knowledge, I embarked on this journey to shift my career. The decision to enroll in this bootcamp turned out to be one of the best I've ever made.

Throughout the course, I received unparalleled support, not only in honing my coding skills but also in terms of emotional encouragement. There were moments when I doubted my abilities, wondering if I would ever secure a job in frontend development. However, thanks to the dedicated instructors and mentors, I was able to overcome those challenges.
Today, I am proud to be a full-time frontend developer, a feat that would not have been possible without the skills and knowledge I gained from this bootcamp. The program not only taught me the technical aspects of frontend development but also emphasized the importance of collaboration and version control. I learned how to make Pull Requests and conduct thorough code reviews, skills that have proven invaluable in my current role.
One of the standout features of this bootcamp was the emphasis on holistic career development. I received invaluable insights into building a successful career in the tech industry. From resume building to interview preparation, the career support provided was exceptional and tailored to individual needs.

In retrospect, this bootcamp was the springboard that launched my career in frontend development. It not only equipped me with the technical skills but also instilled in me a sense of confidence and a deeper understanding of the industry. I am immensely grateful to Re:Coded for providing this life-changing opportunity. If you're considering a career change or looking to enter the world of frontend development, I wholeheartedly recommend this bootcamp. It has the potential to change your life, just as it did mine.

I would like to make my review based on the 3 main topics I rated and to summarize in general. First of all, I am grateful for providing such an opportunity.

    Curriculum
If I had to start with the topic of Curriculum, I think you have mentioned everything specifically in Frontend Development as current technology.

    Positive aspects:
    -
The curriculum is comprehensive and covers current technology in Frontend Development.
    - Weekly responsibilities and study plans help students stay connected to the bootcamp.
    - High-quality projects toward the end of the program were motivating.
    - The availability of a platform with materials and supporting resources.

    Areas for improvement:
    - The HTML and CSS part is processed in a longer process than necessary. I think it is too long, even for candidates coming from a different background other than engineering. Instead, maybe a basic topic such as what is an algorithm can be added to the first week and a 2-week process can be followed for html and css.
    - Since the one-line software is a permanent github repo, it may be more appropriate to develop it through a codepen-style application.
For example for Github, maybe one big project is given every 3 weeks per month, and I think it will develop more usefully if we repeat and use the topics.
    - Maybe instead of focusing so much on html and css, assignments consisting of blind75 style algorithm questions can be added in the js section.

    Instructors
    - They were all great people throughout the process. I haven't had any negative experiences with the instructors. I think they did their job in the best way possible. I am so gratefull for that. I would also like to thank all our instructors.

    Job Assistance
I think the intentions regarding job aid are very good. For example, the event held in Istanbul was nice in terms of meeting people. We had the chance to get to know students from other bootcamps, new graduates and former graduates. Seeing the team made me feel part of the community. The mentoring program is designed as a successful process that will enlighten everyone in need and prepare them for interviews. Thank you also for this.

But at the event there seemed to be something missing in the company diversity or the communication there that would place us in the job. Yes, we sent our CVs, but there is a pool and not every student may have the same opportunity and expression. Especially our friends who have no previous experience may have a negative experience. I think maybe you can talk to companies about opening a position specifically for Re:Coded, or a different solution can be produced.

    Overall Experience
Considering my overall experience, Re:Coded will be an organization that I will always be grateful for, as it was a great opportunity that came to me during a time when I was unemployed, questioning my own value, and not seeing any light in life. I am grateful to the entire Re:Coded team, whether I meet or not. I would love for everyone who lost their way like me, who is looking for the light of life again and who loves coding, to benefit from this.
Keep shining bright and inspiring others on their tech journey!

Before Re:Coded , I hadn't known the importanc  of UX/UI to any digital product. Also, when I had wanted to pursue UI/UX field , I hadn't known from which point I should've started. However, when I applied for the UX/UI bootcamp held by Re:Coded and got accepted , I started to dive deeper and deeper through this amazing field. Thanks to their curriculum offered by them,  I was able to comprehend as much information as possible. Through their way of teaching which was to study before coming to class, and working in teams ,I had the opportunity to feel more included in the process of becoming a real UX/UI designer. Conducting projects with others granted me the ability to understand how to work with a diverse team. Furthermore,  the best thing I love about Re:Code is the amount of care they show towards the mental case of their students and staff. I remember losing someone very close to me when I was studying there. I expected that they would be harsh and not understanding ,as I faced the same problem before while I was in collage and was in bad condition due to me not being understood by teachers and professors, but they showed me support and care. After graduating,  they had us meet with great people in our fields as mentees as well as educating us about the real career path through offering resources and help to write a professional CV , how to do well in interviews and how to network. As a matter of fact, compared to before, my level of knowledge and self-understanding has proposed after studying there. They,  Re:Coded’s staff, always encourage us not to feel depressed because of the place we live in and are always there for help.  I am really grateful to Re:Coded. Thanks.

    Worst Experience

It was the worst experience I ever had, I got accepted into a free scholarship at university, and at the same time I applied to Recoded and got accepted among 700+ applicants after passing many stages, I chose Recoded because it says they have 90% employment rate, we started the BootCamp and the instructors and curriculum were good, what made it the worst experience is they want you to follow their belief, in graduation, students raised LGBT flag as their background in zoom meeting, and I raised the flag of two genders only which presents me as a Muslim.

after this, students reported me to the managers, and they said I should apologize, but they didn't say other students also should apologize because most of the students are Muslims and their families were in the Zoom meeting.

I didn't apologize so they prevented me from my certificate and from helping me find a job, this how I lost my scholarship at the university
and also didn't get a certificate or a job because of my beliefs.

I have all the emails that the managers sent me to prove my review.

Not bad in a limited period of time

Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
I was acknowledged that I had to put so much time and effort into the bootcamp to get the best out of it because of limited time , but it was average overall. Advanced topics were not covered enough, I believe. One of the good things about the bootcamp was, I had a chance to work with a team when building a project and it gave me insight into how my working life would look like in future as it was pursing industry standart in approaching development process. Yet, either duration or topics covered throughout the bootcamp should be revised not to make future students expect more. During capstone project, I felt so neglected as a member of team. I did not see some instructors as active as they were before the capstone project. The reason why I mention these is that the bootcamp was more appealed to those who would want to have fundamentals of the topics than find a job because it did not provide sufficient knowledge base to apply for jobs. Overall, it was mediocre considering it covered social skills, prepping cv, and mentors. I hope it will get better in future and required remediations will be made soon.

    Transformative Challenging Valuable

Read more Read less of Anonymous's review

I recently completed the bootcamp and I'd like to share my candid feedback:

    Pros:

    1. Technical Growth: The program provided an excellent platform to enhance my technical skills. The hands-on projects, challenging assignments, and exposure to industry-relevant tools were invaluable.
    2. Career Readiness: Beyond technical skills, the bootcamp emphasized crucial career readiness skills. I gained proficiency in teamwork, effective communication, problem-solving, and adaptability. These are essential in any professional setting.
    3. Feedback System: The regular online meetings with teaching assistants and leads provided a vital avenue for feedback. This contributed significantly to my growth.

    Areas for Improvement:

    1. Cultural Diversity: Despite marketing efforts, the program fell short in genuinely promoting cultural diversity. It's crucial that future iterations prioritize inclusivity and actively embrace diverse perspectives.
    2. Conflict Resolution Training: While technical skills were a focal point, enhanced conflict resolution and interpersonal communication training could have been integrated for a more holistic experience.
    3. Teaching Assistant Support: Increasing the number of teaching assistants and refining their training process would provide better support. There were instances where timely feedback was lacking, especially before presentations. My personal mentorship experience, unfortunately, fell short of expectations and did not follow the expected process.

    Final Thoughts
    :

The bootcamp was a valuable experience that significantly contributed to my professional growth. However, there is room for improvement in certain crucial aspects. With enhancements in cultural diversity promotion, conflict resolution training, and teaching assistant support, this program has the potential to become even more impactful.

I'm proud to have completed this bootcamp and believe it holds immense value for individuals across the MENA region. I look forward to witnessing its continued success.

Note: I'm grateful for the opportunity and for the support provided by the Re:Coded team.
