I joined this project after being recommended by a previous graduate, so I came in with some expectations, and overall, it was a really solid experience. From my perspective, the structure of the project made a big difference. It walks you through everything step by step, from exploring the data to building models and then turning that into actual business insights. I never felt lost, but at the same time, it still challenged me to think deeper. What stood out to me the most is that it’s not just technical. I had to really think about how to explain my findings and how they would matter in a real business setting, which felt very practical. It definitely takes effort if you want to do it well, but in my experience, that’s also where the most value comes from. By the end, I felt much more confident not just analyzing data, but communicating it clearly.Overall, based on my experience, I’d say it’s a very worthwhile project if you’re looking for something practical and applicable. -

I am genuinely very happy with the MIT Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program. What makes this program stand out is how well it balances depth and accessibility. The theoretical modules are taught by world-class professors and are both rigorous and easy to follow, while the practical cases led by practicing data scientists help translate the theory into real-world application. One of the highlights for me was the quality of the mentors. They have a remarkable ability to break down complex concepts in a way that someone without a highly technical or mathematical background can truly understand and use. That made a real difference for me, especially in learning how to apply sophisticated models to solve concrete business problems.I also really appreciated how practical and engaging the program is. You learn a lot, but in a way that feels dynamic and applicable, so the knowledge can quickly be used in day-to-day professional contexts. The program is intense, and I definitely felt challenged at times, but the program managers were extremely helpful throughout. Their support made it much easier to navigate deadlines and stay on track.Another major strength is the quality of the resources: the recorded videos, notebooks, and supporting materials are genuinely useful and continue to help me structure the analytical approaches I use in my professional work.Overall, I would recommend this program to a wide range of people — from aspiring data scientists to professionals who want to better understand and use data science and AI in their daily work. -

This Course exceeded all my expectations. As the CEO of a company that produces and commercializes mineral and synthetic lubricants, I took this Course to gain a general familiarity with no-code AI business solutions; however, the depth of understanding and breadth of knowledge obtained surprised me. The key reasons are the top level of the Professors, the methodology used, the quality of the material, and the support received. Therefore, I recommend it to business executives, like me, who have no data science background but want to understand these tools to take full advantage of them and lead initiatives upon their use. -

I believe that “No-Code AI” will have a major impact on the companies of the future. The effort required for data-driven decision-making and process automation will be significantly reduced. This was the reason why the concept of the course immediately convinced me.The lectures from IDSS at MIT are challenging but very well structured from a didactic perspective. If you have difficulties understanding something, the mentors from Great Learning help during the learning sessions. The fundamentals of AI algorithms are taught very well. The initial focus is on deterministic methods and their application to decision-making processes. In additional case studies, you learn the overall process from project goal definition, data preprocessing, data exploration, feature engineering, setting up ML models, parameter optimization, and interpretation of the results. With the help of RapidMiner and KNIME, you then solve projects independently, supported by the hands-on sessions from Great Learning. As the course progresses, you learn how general and convolutional neural networks work and how they are applied to decision and classification problems. You recognize the power of these algorithms and the black-box problem. It would have been desirable to learn more about approaches for explaining AI decisions. This will play a major role in increasing acceptance for the introduction of AI in organizations. However, corresponding suggestions were well received. There are good videos on implementing workflows in RapidMiner. I would have also liked to see similar instructional videos for KNIME. However, this gap was at least partially filled by the hands-on sessions. At the end of the course, the focus was on generative AI. We first learned the basics of transformer and diffusion models and then how to use related tools through prompt engineering. As the first cohort, we were also given access to n8n as a tool to get started with process automation and agentic AI. The initial technical problems were resolved with great effort by Great Learning. In this course, excellent lecture content from MIT is combined with highly practical guidance from very qualified mentors from Great Learning. In just under four months, by taking this course, I was able to acquire knowledge that I will be able to apply extensively in my future professional work. The applications will be in the areas of sales and marketing, but also more generally in the introduction of AI in companies. I can highly recommend this course.Source text: -

The Great Learning program “Data Science and Machine Learning: Making Data-Driven Decisions” provides a solid, practical introduction to data science and machine learning for professionals who want usable skills rather than academic depth. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, from statistics to machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI—but the material is structured in a way that remains accessible throughout. The pre-work and introductory modules are particularly useful for leveling the field, allowing participants without a strong technical background to follow the course without feeling overwhelmed. The explanations focus on understanding concepts and use cases rather than excessive mathematical detail.A key strength of the program is its emphasis on business application. The course consistently connects models and techniques to concrete business problems, such as segmentation, prediction, and decision support. This makes it easier to translate what you learn into practical applications at work. Mentor support is effective and focused on clarity and applicability, helping demystify machine learning models and their limitations. Overall, this program is well suited for managers, consultants, and professionals who need to understand and apply data science in a business context, without aiming to become full-time data scientists. -

I discovered the program almost by accident. Having been in the software product industry for quite some time, things can sometimes start to feel routine. I often take on side projects when my schedule allows, and during one such project, I hit a wall. I knew the solution required a more advanced approach. One morning, I woke up with a single word on my mind: "Data." I Googled "data science programs" and was lucky to come across the MIT "Applied Data Science Program: Leveraging AI for Effective Decision-Making" program. Over the next three months, I had the opportunity to learn from seasoned faculty and mentors who are actively solving some of today’s most complex real-world problems. The program was filled with hands-on learning, practical insights, and incredible support. People like Shweta (Program Manager) and mentors such as Aishwarya, Priyanka, and Mirata played a big part in making the experience seamless and deeply rewarding. At no point did I feel like failure was final as there was always someone ready to help me push through. Two standout moments for me were the sessions on neural networks and recommendation systems, both in lectures and mentor-led discussions. I even made major progress on a longstanding personal project: a music app that leverages machine learning for genre classification, BPM detection, and smart categorization. The program didn’t just help me solve a side project, it reshaped how I approach problems overall. For instance, I'm actively applying what I learned to the backend of a shipping load board platform. The biggest takeaway? Wherever data exists, there’s opportunity to build smarter, more effective solutions. This program was a game changer. Highly recommended! -

MIT’s no-code certificate offers a strong introductory immersion into AI/ML for non-coders, emphasizing practical tool usage and business-minded project work. Its MIT pedigree and CEUs add value, but the delivery model (through Great Learning) means expectations should be moderated. If you seek a strategic, tool-based skillset in a self-paced format, it’s a compelling program. However, don’t use it as a shortcut to a technical AI career—it lacks the depth and developer-level learning needed.
