I found CourseCareers after applying to 80+ jobs and getting minimal traction. Even though we are in a proclaimed employee market, without a warm introduction it is still difficult to get the exposure you are looking for. After looking through several very expensive options I found CourseCareers.
Troy and his team do not require massive amount of money but offer the same level of education and opportunity for their students. The course is effective for individuals with no experience or education but also for for individuals like me. I have both a College Degree and several years of experience in Financial Technology Recruitment/Sales. The course allowed me to brush up on my previous skills and expand them as well.
I viewed several options for courses that you only have to pay their 10,000+ fee upon successful placement in a company with certain pay requirements. The team at CourseCareers requires a $500 upfront and get the rest of their pay from the actual companies they are placing with. This implied two important things to me.
1. 500 dollars for a 10,000 dollar education is a no brainer, even if you are taking as a refresher course on your Sales skills that price tag is well worth it.
2. The companies Troy and team works with are invested in CourseCareers supplying excellent talent. The team is looking out for the unemployed or those seeking new opportunities and was able to convince the companies on their docker that the talent supplied is worth them paying for it. This represents superior selling and business development skills in the CourseCareers team that you will be learning from.
Even if you are only looking to find out if this is the right career path for you, the upfront cost is minimal and the amount you will take away from it is equal if not greater than the $10,000+ courses you will find elsewhere.
P.S. I was pleasantly surprised with some of the names on the CourseCareers business list, all of which you are pretty much guaranteed an interview with. -

Overall the experience was great. with CourseCareers you get an entire course you can go through at your leisure or as fast as you want. What is it that makes CourseCareers stand out? It is the support, hands down. Troy's willingness to engage and help his students is honestly profound. A lot of programs talk a big game about supporting and helping their students, but I have yet to find a program that actually offers the support they brag about. Troy, on the other hand, delivers on his promises.
The course itself lays out pretty much everything you need to know to succeed in an SDR role. The books Troy has chosen from the curriculum are excellent and should be read by any person thinking about entering the sales industry. The course material itself dives into specific tools you may be expected to use and gives a great preview of what to expect.
The biggest and most important part of CourseCareers is the support though. I talk to Troy a few times a week and I honestly have no idea how he has the time to fit me in his busy schedule, but he somehow does! After graduation, he helped me through the interview process and continued to include me in the weekly chat with other students, which is not only fun but is also very educational. CourseCareers is really building a community that is great to be involved with.
Oh yeah, you're probably wondering, does this lead to a job? The answer is yes! There are full-time job opportunities as well as internships. I was fortunate to land a full-time job due to my past sales experience, but I would encourage people to highly consider the internship opportunities to continue their learning experience and be involved with high-quality firms. I purchased this course because the testimonials and introduction videos gave me the impression that I would receive high-quality, well-structured training that would help me build real IT knowledge. Unfortunately, my experience was very different.
The topics covered are relevant, and I have no issue with the curriculum itself. My disappointment is with how the material was delivered.
Most of the training videos felt like unedited screen recordings. The instructor frequently made mistakes, corrected them while recording, and continued without re-recording or editing the lesson. It gave the impression that very little effort went into producing a professional course, especially considering the price.
Another major issue was how often the instructor relied on AI. A large portion of the course consisted of instructions like "search this in ChatGPT," "ask AI," or "memorize this for the exam." I estimate that this happened throughout much of the training. I enrolled because I wanted to learn from an instructor with experience, not because I needed someone to tell me to ask ChatGPT. I already know how to use AI, and if that was going to be the primary teaching method, I could have learned much of the same material on my own.
When covering resume creation, students were directed to another subscription-based platform where many of the useful templates and suggestions required another payment. After already paying for the course, I found this frustrating, and also most of the linkedIn training was based on guessing who to email or sending emails to the hiring managers which I find useless.
Finally, after completing the course, the trainer encouraged students to submit testimonial videos for a chance to win $200. Seeing that immediately after finishing made me question how many of the positive testimonials I had relied on when making my purchase were influenced by that incentive. While I cannot know why individual people left positive reviews, it did leave me feeling misled.
I completed the course and passed the exam, but by the end I had largely lost my enthusiasm because the overall production quality and teaching approach did not meet my expectations. Personally, I would not purchase this course if I were to go back or recommend it at its current price.
The second star is only because I liked the titles, and now I get to go search for those titles on free YouTube videos. -

I purchased Course Careers not too confident about how they would deliver, but whoa! I was totally shocked. My digital marketing course totally blew my mind away as they prepared me for real life experiences and hands on learning. They also had several templates to help me in the future and a discord community to interact with fellow students. I am so glad I purchased this course instead of spending thousands of dollars for a college degree that doesn’t help me in the real world. -

I've been wanting to get into the tech industry, and careers like IT and Data Analysis have been peaking my interest, but I didn't really know where or how to start. I found Josh Madakor on YouTube and saw he had an IT course. I started the course a few weeks ago, and I've been very satisfied with my learning experience so far. I am currently enrolled in the Accounting program at coursecareers. This seems to be a very condensed yet informative way to learn accounting. I am only about one third of my way through the course but I feel there are some aspects that I wish went more in depth. I look forward to finishing the course and seeing if this helps land me a job in accounting or banking. I would say pausing and rewinding right when you are confused is important. Once you go to the next slide, I don’t believe there is a way to review the old work. So take good notes! All-in-all I’m liking it so far. -

After 6 weeks, I don’t feel like I gained any new skill. I’m still very clueless. I started this boot camp specifically because I was told it would lead me to a job. Unfortunately, it has not led me to one job. Not even an interview. Save your money -

It took me roughly 4 and a half months to complete the course working on and off at my own pace. It was a great experience. The material was extensive but digestible and presented in a way where you can easily follow along and understand. Gained a wealth of knowledge to where I feel fully capable of performing a tech sales role. I'd definitely recommend it for others looking to get into the industry. -

Based on how my IT training went with other online schools vs. this one. I give CourseCareers a positive rating. Being able to work in Azure and other virtual environments without using my computers memory is helpful. I think seeing a preview of the courses are nice. I do think the IT course should let people know in the preview that a credit card will be needed to setup an Azure account.
The instructor Josh appears to be very active answering student’s questions in Discord. He even answers questions on his YouTube channel that helps students. I think he is dedicated to the students. I appreciate that because I find that to be rare at other institutions. I’m about 40% into the course. I hope as I go further in the course that things will remain good.
The bootcamp has a referral program and discount codes available. I believe they offer payment plans too. I’ve noticed a lot of students have success getting into IT. I think CourseCareers is going to change a lot of lives in a positive way. -

So far I am loving what CourseCareers is offering. First, the flexibility to go through course on my own time (no strict class times). Second, Trent Dressel doing an amazing job thoroughly explaining things and providing examples. Third, the access to community. You are able to connect with others who are doing the course with you, learn from each other and support one another.
Flexible, accessible, thorough, and supportive. I especially enjoy the structure of the course (lectures, readings, projects, final exam) without the college tuition fees. Too many positive things to say. Lots of support with resume, interview prep, and finding a job.
I'm a bit shy online (I am more open in person when I can see a face) so connecting with people online is difficult for me. However, this course is helping me break out of my shell and will help me when it comes to SDR work which is my goal.

This course was very informative and well laid out. I feel that you will have a very good idea of what is expected of you and the tools needed to meet those expectations in the work force. If you are highly motivated and have the time you can easily complete the course within two weeks.
The course is Self paced so that you can learn on your own time.

Since nothing is scheduled you must motivate yourself to say on track and meet your goals. This could be a con for someone who needs a more structured setting to learn effectively.
