My overall experience at Coding Temple was super fun and insightful. As a student with zero-knowledge in programming, I was quite apprehensive about diving into the idea of this dreadful 3 month Bootcamp torture people make it out to be, but it was quite the opposite at the temple. In fact, I felt at ease the moment I did the introductory class and got to know more about the school curriculum and my classmates. My Instructors, Ryan and Alex, are the two most amazing people you will ever meet. Not only are they cool, but also very supportive and will guide you through whatever struggles you will face. Also, the whole entire staff of this organization are all amazing at what they do and constantly pushing you to your dream.
After you graduate, make sure to take full advantage of the Alumni side. It is going to be very fun and resourceful at the same time! AND I highly recommend you feed off the formidable energy from Marlene , Aubrey and Sam because they are going to make sure that you are at the top of your game. Guaranteed!
All I can say is, If the temple could make this guy a well-versed programmer, I truly believe so can you! no matter what work background or stage in life you come from.
Goodluck to your pursuit! -

Harder Alternative to College

Bootcamps are a very hard alternative for those who don't have the luxury to go to college in order to become a software engineer. Coding Temple helped me land a software engineering job at AT&T despite me only being a high school graduate. I am very grateful to them but it ended up costing me a lot of money. If I was to do it over again, I would've gone the self-taught route. Bootcamps are great if you can afford them and need a structure in place. Finally, just know that after graduating, finding a job will be very hard and you will need to network and create a portfolio to increase your chances significantly. -

I recently finished up the Coding Temple Part-Time online 12-week Bootcamp and had an absolutely fantastic experience with it. Right off the bat, major credit has to go to my instructor, Christian, for his stellar job of communicating clearly and plainly for a coding newbie like myself. From day one there was a very fun tone set for our class that took most of the traditional dry/boring-ness of traditional education completely out of the equation. Don't let that fool you however, it was a very intense 12 weeks and requires a great deal of dedication, time, discipline, and research on your own time to truly get the most out of this course. It's very much a "you get out what you put in" scenario so if you're taking the plunge I highly suggest going in 100% and not half-assing it.
The structure of the course is well thought out and makes logical sense as you built a strong foundation of coding knowledge early on in the classroom and through daily challenges, homework, and projects. If there were ever any students that weren't sure of how something worked or if there was ever any confusion on a topic, Christian was to-notch at figuring out a different approach to explaining it to us to make sure that we all stayed together on the learning journey and that no one was left behind.
Overall I will say it was the right choice for me to go with Coding Temple for several personal reasons. Scheduling, timeline, availability of instructors/tutors, budget, and reputation were all very important in my decision to choose this bootcamp over the numerous other ones I looked into. Enough about that though... if you're serious about trying to switch careers into software development you should go ahead and apply now! console.log('Thanks for reading my review! Best of luck out there!') -

TLDR: I highly recommend Coding Temple for its great community and awesome career support if you can take the time to do the pre work and are prepared for the intensity of a bootcamp.
I completed the full time software engineering bootcamp a month ago and just accepted my first job offer. I have prior coding experience which helped me find a job so quickly after graduating, but I definitely credit CT with having the ability to find the job.
I felt a great sense of community at CT both during the bootcamp and afterwards. The slack channel is very active, there are tons of extracurricular activities and workshops, and the small cohort size and instructor support is phenomenal. My instructors were Ryan and Alex, and they were amazingly kind, helpful and knowledgable human beings. They took the time to answer every question. With a cohort of about 12 people, it was very easy to get support.
I loved the structure of the class. We start with a 30 minute whiteboard, (this is so beneficial for once you're looking for jobs,) followed by the lecture, a lunch break, and then any remaining time in the eight hour day is a sort of study hall. The cohort TA is available to answer questions as you're working on your homework. This part is "optional" but I really recommend not skipping it. It was so helpful to have that time. There are also evening and weekend TAs, but your cohort TA will be the most helpful, since they are knowledgeable of what is going on in your specific cohort.
In terms of curriculum, some weeks were more intense than others. There were weeks where I really felt like I was learning and processing the information, other weeks where we followed along and wrote long pieces of code without full understanding what we were writing. But this comes with doing a bootcamp; it's more of a survey to give you ideas of what you want to learn. There were weeks that I was working 70 hours, but not every week. In the end, you definitely learn enough to build your own full stack application, something I would have really struggled to do on my own.
The pre work will take more time than they tell you it will. Please give yourself the time to do it! They asked us to read 6 chapters in a python book and do a quiz for each chapter. I wanted to be really well prepared, so I pushed back my start date in order to have time to complete the pre work. I probably spent about 40 hours on it. Some of my cohort mates signed up just days before the cohort started and hadn't completed the pre work. They had a much harder time with the first few weeks of the program. They will also ask you do a html/css tutorial and create a portfolio. Make sure you finish this before you start! And I would recommend taking the time to learn some basic html and css before you begin. If possible, do a tutorial on bootstrap and learn some javascript fundamentals. And start doing CodeWars before the program even starts if you can. This program is shorter than any other bootcamp by 2 weeks; devote those extra 2 weeks to pre work!
I think what I was most surprised by was the quality of the career support. There are 2-3 career workshops during the course but you can basically reach out the career coaches, Marlene and Aubrey, any time. Once you graduate, they switch you to the alumni slack, where there are daily workshops, daily challenges, tons of topics to discuss, and career coaches available for mock interviews and coaching sessions whenever you need. It is soooo comprehensive. They also just started an open source project that alumni can contribute to. Marlene and Aubrey are the dream team; Marlene will tell you exactly what to do to find a job (do everything she says,) while Aubrey will give you the encouragement you need get through the difficulty of the job search. Nate and Sam were wonderful and super knowledgeable technical coaches.
Overall, as with any full time bootcamp, it's going to be super intense. But Coding temple is a great choice.

I am a Digital Foundry & Operate Manager at Deloitte. In 2020, during the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, I got downsized by my company. I decided that I needed to update my tech skills, and transition further into technology management. I had a technical background, but wanted to learn how to write code and use data science in product management. Wanted to use these skills to my advantage when conversing with software designers, UI/UX developers, and other members of the product team in order to build robust projects. I learned of a software development/data science program that the City of Chicago (Chicago Codes) was creating for displaced employees, due to Covid-19. Chicago Codes partnered with Coding Temple, offering a 10 week software development and data science bootcamp. I was a little hesitant, being a more mature student with previous experience in IT. I wanted to further my career in IT management, and did not know if this program was appropriate. However, Ripal Patel assured me that I had experience on my side. I was not starting a career, I was enhancing my management career trajectory within the tech sector. I completed the 10 week Coding Temple software development bootcamp cohort in 2020 with Coding Temple. I learned to expand my horizons, and challenge myself daily. Sometimes I was operating on a diet of no sleep and fumes, for what seemed like an eternity. However, It was the best 10 weeks that I have spent, in a very long time. Our instructors, Joel Carter and Nate Welter extracted coding skills that we did not know that we possessed. We walked in as novices, and came out coders who understood the nuances of Python, JavaScript, React, JQuery, SQL, Numpy etc. My cohort felt more like family, than colleagues. We struggled and succeeded as a family, together. We have become life-long friends. Over the years, we have congratulated each other on our mutual accomplishments and have referred each other for positions within our respective companies. Personally, completing the Coding Temple cohort in 2020, was the best thing that came out of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you Ripal Patel and Marlene Tang, for your continued guidance and support in the Coding Temple Alum Community. This journey has been personally challenging, yet rewarding and fulfilling. I could not and would not have wanted to do it all over again, without Coding Temple. -

This bootcamp will teach you enough basics to land a junior level developer job; it is very much a "you get what you put into it" type situation, where if you can keep up with the work and do some extra learning everyday, you will most likely be successful. Since the camp is only 10 weeks, it is very fast paced and students can fall behind very quickly if they're not on it. During the bootcamp, I kept thinking about how I should have picked a longer camp, one that provided more time for certain subjects or could just cover more in general. After finishing though, and finding a job, I'm glad it only took 10 weeks time to get where I wanted to be. If you are someone that needs more time to grasp new things, you might want to consider an option longer than 10 weeks.
The material taught was enough to give a broad sense of how a full stack application is built and generally how the pieces all fit together. My cohort only did one group project during the whole camp, I really think it would have been beneficial to do more of those. The alumni support is amazing and honestly, the best part about the whole camp. The alumni staff are there for you and are so supportive and helpful in job searching and interview prep. If anything, go to Coding Temple just for that! -

There are plenty of reviews about the quality of the course which I agree with 100%. However what you really pay for is the support after you graduate the bootcamp.
The career coach, Marlene, knows what she's talking about! Her advice is always on point, she's very knowledgable about the software engineer job market, approachable, and will literally walk you through every step of the job hunting process if you ask her. Her goal is to help you get a job and she backs that up in her work ethic. She helped me and 100s of other graduates walk through job offers. Plus she will help you land your second, third job and beyond too. I would not have got a job as quickly as I did if it wasn't for her help. She hosts weekly workshops that include celebrating graduates signing offers and asking them what they did to land the job as well as going over any tips/techniques in the job hunting process. Added bonus: She also will help you find a house (she has a realtor license)!! Find a bootcamp that has a career coach who will help you get a job and help you buy a house...spoiler alert YOU WONT!
There are two technical support instructors who have the talent to work at MAANG companies. Nate and Sam both have thought the course so they are very familiar with the curriculum you learned. They host weekly workshops that either reenforce the skills you learned in the bootcamp or some new techniques that build upon what you learned in the bootcamp. Nate hosts an additional weekly workshop that covers technical interview questions other graduates have been asked in interviews. There are daily coding challenges to keep your whiteboard skills sharp (every Friday there is a chance to win Amazon gift cards). AND on top of all this there are recorded series that cover totally new topics such as Java basics and Fast API. It can feel overwhelming at times but thats a good problem to have.
Lastly, there is the alumni graduate body who support each other. From helping each other fix bugs in our jobs or personal projects to posting job opportunities at their company it really does feel like a big family helping each other out. The best thing about being apart of Coding Temple alumni is that all these resources are for life.
The quality of the course and the resources you have access to after graduation is worth every penny. In fact it's almost a steal. I haven't compared Coding Temple's alumni support to other bootcamps because I don't need to. I have everything I need to succeed and more. Take this course, put in the effort, and enjoy the success. -

I did research on bootcamps and read tons of reviews online and on Reddit. I applied to several bootcamps and passed a technical assessment, but my inner voice and connections from space told me this was not the right place for me. And I started from the beginning.
One day I found a hidden gem-Coding Temple (And now I can say that, because before I had a lot of doubts). I applied, took the assessment, and from the first second before bootcamp even started, I got my first coding challenge to complete a prework. I was so excited about it, and I started feeling that these guys are on the right track and they are interested in you succeeding. It's incredible, but on the first day you learn the basic concepts of programming, and by the end of the week you are making a Law Firm website. The most important part is that mentors teach you not where to put a piece of code, they teach you WHY you need to put this piece of code, and they teach you to think as a developer. My life changed forever. My class was a magic class, and I’m so grateful to my mentors Kevin B. and Dylan S.; if you got them, you got a mega million winning ticket, and it's not just a $2 payout, you will get much more. During the course and especially after graduating, you will get so much important career support from the super professional Marlene T. And these are not all the bonuses you will get. After bootcamp, you will continue to grow as a developer thanks to the great support from the staff (Thank you, Nate W. and Sam D.)
Thank you, Coding Temple, for giving me the ability to swim like a dolphin in the sea of software development. -

Easily one of the best choices I have made. The teachers were incredible. (Kevin and Dylan). They pushed us all to be at our best from the very beginning. They were honest about our work and helped us reach our max potential. They always challenged us with every project and assignment given. By no means is it an easy course. The weekly white board sessions helped us become more comfortable explaining our code in front of other peoples.(The wheel of death). It was something we all dreaded at first but something I'm glad they had us do because it has helped me with my interview skills. This is a course where you only get as much as you are willing to put in. Overall a great experience and i would recommend it to everyone who wants to learn how to code and thing like a software engineer. -

Where to start.
From the front office staff to the instructors and all the people behind the scenes, Coding Temple is hands down the best bootcamp around. I start my journey back in 2021 I was workin a full-time job (60-70 hours a week) I got week 3 into the program and Nicole checked in with me because I was so far behind I told her I don't think this is for me I work to much and have no time to sleep or even eat. Nicole mysel and co-founder Ryan work together to come up with a plan where I would return in the summer of 2022 and restart the course. I restarted in June of 2022 and with great motivation I flew through the prep work with flying colors, and started the course with much more confidence then I did the year before. Huge Huge shout out to my instructors Brandt who was there for me almost everyday no matter how dum the question was he always found a way to make it make sense, and Shoha who made class worth coming to everyday. He always made it fun. I really liked the cohort I was in there was always someone in the classroom where you could bounce ideas back and forth or get help in an area you were struggling in and no matter who was in there no one ever made you feel behind or not up to speed we all helped each other out. My one very small teeny tiny thing is you only get 30 mins of 1-1 time with the instructors a day. There were many times where I wish I had just 15 more minutes. Overall the experience was amazing and continues to be they have a great alumni program for after you finish the course with TONS of people who all went to Coding Temple and are there to help you with anything coding related (job, project, etc.). I would recommend this course to anyone looking to get into the tech industry. You need 0 experience to start they teach you everything. -

As a complete beginner knowing absolutely nothing about code so much so that I thought coding was just putting 1 and 0 in the computer however, after beginning my adventure at Coding Temple I soon found out how absolutely fascinating coding is. Coding Temple has a culture of hard work and honesty. You will get out of the bootcamp exactly what you put into it. If you're looking to make a career change into Software Engineering / Development, the instructors and career assistance staff will be there to back you up every step of the way.
I remember having a lot of concerns while looking for the right bootcamp, and one of my biggest ones was that as soon as I graduated, I was on my own. This is not the case at Coding Temple. When you graduate there are live lessons nearly every day, 1 on 1 meetings you book with instructors, and infinite job support from Marlene and Nate.
If you have any doubts about Coding Temple, let Ripal give you a call, I spoke with him before signing up, and he lays out how to program works from A to Z.
P.S. Request Lucas Lang as your head instructor if you can! -

Coding Temple will take you where you want to go. It is hard to see progress in yourself until its exceptionally obvious, but trust the reviews and the program. For me, the structure, and expert guidance was the allure for this camp and I was not disappointed. Brian was an excellent teacher, with patience and kindness. You can expect long hours, and if you do not have any coding experience, it will be very difficult. This will likely be the most studious weeks of your life, and if you are considering anything other than studying and sleeping, it might not be the choice for you. There will be a plethora of study material, so you will get what you make of the program. The training is excellent, but it will also provide a foundation to learn more on your own very effectively adding on to the value of the camp. This career field is one where there is constant learning and growth, so consider this as well. In addition to great instruction, the after class Alumni Group is very active. In the Alumni Group, you can work on your resume, advance your skills, and connect with many like minded individuals. I highly recommend this course, for anyone looking to get into software development as a career. -

I had a great experience at Coding Temple. Before enrolling in C.T., my coding / web design experience dates to at least 15 years ago. I was overdue for a re-introduction to the wonderful world of web development.
I like how C.T. emphasizes both the material subject matter (the curriculum) AND the job search process itself, and how -- once one passes/graduates the program -- one becomes availed of ongoing education AND career advice.
I found a focus here, while also gaining an introduction to a wide array of topics.
With the help of the alumni staff, I'm assessing my strengths and taking time to study and delve in to areas of interest and areas for improvement, with ongoing support.
My advice to future students would be to "code along" in Jupyter Notebook or VS Code during the first 5 weeks, but by the weeks where we study Flask, React and Express, perhaps use class time to just "observe"... There's so much happening, and so much building on the previous material, that trying to code along and troubleshoot and cut/paste. etc risks missing important points of instruction with regard to the advance of new material...
Either way, however, all class lectures are available to review indefinitely (at 1.5 x speed!)... But since my instructor consistently uploaded to github the relevant files for each day's class, there's no urgent need for the student to "code along" at the expense of "big picture" understanding -- during the somewhat accelerated Flask, React, Express weeks.
Sometimes, (personally) by the time I realized I needed after-hours help, the available TAs were already booked. But that I'm sure is a labor concern, not a quality concern. For most of the time, help was available and they were definitely knowledgeable and positive.
Another thing I appreciate about C.T. is the general vibe / community of proactive, enthusiastic ppl helping each other along, no matter what stage, nor real/perceived obstacles. I do appreciate that community in Slack.

Brandon Apol, Christian Askew, Kevin Beier, first and foremost I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your hard work and dedication as instructors. You personally made coding temple an amazing experience for me via video. I'd do the whole course again and again, and even recommend it to a friend! Self pace was a wonderful experience for me because of the videos and the hands on guidance from each of you.
I came to coding temple looking for a chance to break into tech and I received so much more than just a chance. I receive the skills to become a professional student and researcher, understanding the space to always grow and learn more. I love the support and positivity I received in my whiteboard sessions with Christian, the awesome commentary every video with Brandon to keep me alert, and the great food choices for how codes by Kevin in the pre-work. 10/10 would recommend, I love the work coding temple is doing for people like me! I came into Coding Temple with almost no coding experience, spurred by a desire for career path change, and I would recommend it. As several other reviewers have mentioned here, the program (like most things in life) provides the most to those who take full advantage of what it can offer.
I appreciated the structure of daily lessons and routine assignments and the accessibility of the instructors. Students should realize that there is an unending supply of technical detail and that it cannot possibly all be covered – much less in 10 weeks. How to react to this reality? Ask questions, do additional research, and follow the path of technologies that pique your interest. You can show up and sit silently in the background and you will maybe/probably do fine, or you can embrace the full experience and excel.
Personally, I enjoyed the challenge of the classwork/projects, but found my desire to focus specifically on coding after graduation tepid (I was probably an outlier of my cohort in this sense). However, I now had a list of skills and the demonstrable ability to learn new technologies and apply them, which I parlayed into a consulting job with a software company.
Understand that this is not just a 10 week process – those who got the best jobs most quickly from my cohort continued to hone their technical abilities after graduation and put considerable effort into applying and interviewing – these truly are separate skills to be learned. The post graduate support is far beyond what I assumed it would be and benefited me greatly. I met routinely with Marlene (the career coach) who gave unending advice and helped push me to rethink my potential. A special thanks to her. -

This was the best experience! If you are looking for a career change or would like to find your niche in coding, this is a Coding temple place to start. I graduated with a BA in Economics and had no real job prospects. I wanted to go into Data Analytics (so thinking that a coding boot camp was the next logical step) I took the leap to enroll in the full-time full-stack development (remote) program. I fell in love with software engineering and now have a position as a lead software engineer only one month after finishing the program.
Let me start off by saying, this program (like everyone else will tell you) "is what you put into it". Some students in my class went above and beyond on every project, while others completed what was required and did just fine. Expect to be on zoom Monday-Thursday from 9:30 - 4:00 CT. Some days will end sooner than others depending on that week's curriculum. Your TA is also available after class, in addition to a night TA. Friday is a project day where you have a lot of freedom, but the instructors will be available to help throughout the work day. Although you can avoid coding this day, I definitely recommend getting the weekend project done since you can immediately contact your teacher when you get stuck.
Brian, my instructor, was the absolute best. He was incredibly knowledgeable and prepared for class, introduced topics in a way that wasn't terrifying, and was patient with his instruction. Looking at online tutorials after finishing the program, the way he taught things is better than 90% of the material on the internet (easy to do and understand). I often reference his code. You can also engage with other students in the slack channel which is really great for your support system with my program being online. They have daily challenges, guest speakers, and codewars events.
Curriculum wise, everything you learn is very useful. I found that the first couple of weeks I had more time than I budgeted (according to reviews). This is a good time to dive into syntax and get up your points on codewars. I spent the most time coding during Flask and React weeks. Be prepared for those weeks to make you question everything you know. Once it does click you will regain that confidence, it's just a lot of information to learn at once.
After you graduate, you get moved to the Alumni channel where they have weekly review sessions. Nate teaches technical interview topics 3 times a week, where you can cover advanced topics from class more thoroughly. Marelene is your career coach to help you go over linkedIn, job resources, and resumes. You can also hear from alumni going through the interview process and how the hiring process went for others. -

I absolutely enjoyed my time learning Software Engineering from Coding Temple. From first phone interview to post graduation. The application, learning, and career support are amazing. I went from zero coding experience to actually understanding and building applications. It was a great price for the time learning. It is a 10 week intensive process, which was perfect for someone who could stay out of the work force for long. Shout out to Terrell and Ryan for being the best and the amazing cohort and friends I gained. The curriculum is Python and JavaScript, and learning both frontend and backend frameworks. Every week, you are learning something different and applicable. There are whiteboards that everyone gets the spotlight on and you are aided by the teachers. They were always readily available, and really want you to succeed. Post graduation, the career support is great also. I am learning a lot just from the mock interviews and guest speakers who were just in our shoes. Highly recommend! -

The overall experience was really good. It was fun working on numerous projects, both individually and in teams. I got a job after my time there and so far, i've used only a bit of knowledge from the bootcamp at my job. I recommend getting up to a month or more in w3 schools or Coding temples prework before getting immersed in coding temples bootcamp , it will help you a lot. But if you are in a time crunch I still recommend it but I recommend that you at least know whether you want to do back end or front end and focus on that. I recommend full stack much later down the road unless you are already experienced. I loved the class and my class mates, I learned a ton and I am very happy with my investment, and I also got a job which alone is why I signed up. I got it around 2 months after the bootcamp. There are a ton of resources after the bootcamp which makes this bootcamp really stand out to me. The career coach is really phenomenal as well. All coding temple staff are honestly great. But please understand that you have to put in the work, it is not a magic pill. Utilize all resources and attend everything, extract as much information and as you can and ask as many questions as you can. Understand that this is a big boost compared to learning on your own. To be honest I probably would of never made it this far learning on my own. But even after the bootcamp you are going to have to put in the work. -

I was working on/dreaming of a career change to software for about 5 years. I was taking college courses part time while working a stress filled full time job as the sole provider in the house. After a family health crisis, I decided to start looking at coding bootcamps to help speed up the transition.
I found Coding Temple on Course Report after spending a few weeks looking through different options. I chose them based on the fact they teach python, they offer a 12 week part time, and they have a solid reputation. Let me tell you, I am happy I chose them.
The course was a lot of work. You learn a ton in a short time, but it was exactly what I was looking for. It provided the structure I needed to make this career change happen. I had to work my butt off, but my instructors - Shoha and Dylan - were awesome and were always super responsive. When my cohort ended, I wanted it to continue, even though I was putting ~40 hours a week on top of a full time job.
Software engineering, programming, and tech in general is not for everyone. You get out what you put in, and this is not an easy ticket to a high paying career. All of the information in any bootcamp's course is available for free all over the internet, and you certainly can try to learn on your own. For me the bootcamp style was a perfect fit, and I would choose Coding Temple again. I have recommended CT to a couple people already.
If I had to make a complaint, it would be that I wished they would have pushed a little deeper into algorithms and data structures. That is mostly due to my specific interests. Software is an ever-growing field, and in 12 weeks CT provides a great intro into all of the aspects. 12 weeks just isn't enough time to really get deep into those computer science heavy subjects. Also, it is likely that a large percentage of people won't ever need to know that stuff, so it makes sense why they only touch on these subjects.
Overall, if you are ready to break into tech and put in the work Coding Temple is a great choice, and one I'm glad I made just a few short months ago. -

I was unsure how I would fare going into the bootcamp but 2 weeks after graduation, I can say that I had an amazing time learning and implementing new technologies. My instructors (Derek and Lucas) were very knowledgable and always ready to help. The cohort was also amazing and everyone was ready to help each other. I loved that after class, we had an hour long session where we could go and clarify questions/concerns about anything we covered. I loved the check-in with Nicole to make sure we were not going crazy and discuss any hurdles we faced. It was not EASY. There is a lot to learn and there are projects every week. Some can be completed in a day but others take the whole weekend. There is homework daily but if you're paying attention in class and are willing to read documentation, you will be fine.
As previously mentioned by many, you only get what you put in. I can honestly say I learned a lot but I also cancelled many plans during the weeks and on weekends to make sure I was grasping the concepts we learned. Not everything will or can be taught in a 10 week timeframe but the way things are taught, prepare you to be able to learn and implement new technologies. The idea is to start thinking why something is being done, instead of blindly doing it. The white-boarding questions also help tremendously with making you comfortable writing code and solving algorithmic problems. For the first 5 weeks we focused on Python and then JavaScript. Codewars is a must and I recommend anyone going into the program, to definitely try and solve 2-5 problems everyday so you can start picking up strategies as to what approach to take for specific problems. Instructors are always there to help and encourage everyone to solve the problems and get a deeper understanding of approaching a problem.
I would also recommend getting some familiarity with Flask and React (framework) as that can be a challenging week. It's not the end of the world if you go into it green as I did but it helps to know a little when starting off. Expect to write a lot of code but this is the way of the coder and I'm glad through all the homework and assignments, I felt ready when it came to code from scratch.
Our career advisor Marlene is also amazing, she is the most energetic and enthusiastic person I've met. She is always positive and helps you through every step of the way. She is always available but she expects you to also take the initiative and reach out when you're struggling. I really appreciate her approach and she always makes time to give you clear and concise feedback. She helped me with my resume and my LinkedIn which is the most important for job search.
Overall I can say this was one of the most challenging things I've done but I'm better because of it. I will recommend Coding Temple to anyone looking to change their career and wanting to get into software development. -

Kevin and Alex are the best teachers! I have disliked school my entire life but Kevin and Alex made it fun and they're support helped me learn quick! I don't when they sleep because they're always available to help when my classmates are I needed it. They're courses are interactive and we learned to make really cool things!
I would gladly pay for another class and hope they have more advanced classes soon! I wish I had done this 10 years ago. Being a programmer at 20 would have put me on a much better path! -

This program helped me go from zero coding ability/knowledge at the beginning of 2022 to having a solid grasp of the fundamentals needed to create functional web applications from scratch (frontend to backend), in addition to data base and data analysis competency. I was amazed at how much content we covered in just 10 weeks, and that we were able to do so thoroughly and holistically. If you are ready and willing to give yourself 100% to a bootcamp this course will deliver for you. Everything they teach and assign is doable so long as you bring your best effort and stay on top of assignments (a fast but reasonable pace). Highly recommended for anyone wanting to get into tech but not knowing where to start!

Going into this program I had 0 experience with coding! none whatsoever!!! Brandon made learning all the information a lot of fun and understandable, and at the end I had learned things that I never in a million years thought I'd understand. One critique I'd have with the self paced program is giving students the ability to get the pre-work done before the actual start of the course. Outside of that... It was an absolutely amazing experience and I can't wait to see where my career goes from here! -

I was a bit skeptical before joining a coding bootcamp, However Coding Temple's fast paced 10 week program really gave me all of the information I needed to be successful in any front-end or back-end development job! My instructors were extremely patient and helpful along the way ensuring the information was understood. I had very little to no prior background knowledge in coding, but I was able to graduate the course and start my job search along side my career coach. -

I Learned so much!
I went to Coding Temple with almost no background in coding, and can definitely say that this course will make you learn things you never thought were possible. By the end of the 10 weeks, I had multiple working websites, and a knowledge base to help me continue to learn after the class. I am actually making useful tools for the web, and It only took 10 weeks! -

A fast-paced, all-encompassing Full-Stack Engineering course.
As someone who had difficulty selecting a bootcamp, I'm thrilled I landed on this one. The course itself was difficult in that it covered a lot of ground quickly.
Personally, i finished with the confidence to begin my job search, as well as the confidence to learn anything new I may need to know.
The most valuable skill learned here is the optimal way to learn.
Post-completion support has been unbelievable. Between our first hackathon, resume, interview, and technical workshops, and the AMAZING Marlene, I'm in great hands, and with effort from me, I'll land my first gig and be smooth sailing sooner rather than later. -

If you are undecided about Coding Temple, I'll let you know now that the investment is worth it. You can really get job offers after the bootcamp. In around 3 months, more than half of my class already got their job offers in related fields, that's excellent comparing to other schools (ncluding another bootcamp I attended that majority didn't get jobs after graduation). Also, my instructor Nate is very patient, nonjudgemental, and knowledgable, I also got a technical issue during my time at the bootcamp but he would always stay after to help me fix them, thanks Nate you deserves a promotion! -

I completed my graduation project yesterday and will be graduating from Coding Temple. I am transitioning back to civilian life as I prepare to leave the Air Force. Whether you’re a veteran like myself, a civilian tired of working jobs that are meaningless to you (whether you’ve been stuck in retail etc), or maybe you’ve never had career experience and want a new job, the one thing we share is I’m leaving a career/job, I’m going back to ground zero, and coding was the “in” that I was sold on. If you’re one of the many, you’ll see ads for bootcamps as a way into tech, and I’m excited to say that they’re right. I don’t have a job yet, this is my weekend off since I just graduated, Sam and Devon were my teachers and they were amazing. I’m going to walk you through my full experience at Coding Temple from joining to graduating, I’ll write this in sections to make it more digestible. If you’re in the military or are a veteran seeking to use your GI Bill please read the end for additional info.
Required Hours & Class Schedule
Our class started with what 10 people, and we graduated with 5. Ensure that you are ready to take on what it means to do this.
Before we start let me get this question out of the way—what are the hours like for class/cohort prep, and what did a normal class day look like?
I spent 80+ hours prepping for pre-work just the first week alone, but I only gave myself a little more than a week as that’s when I decided to enroll in my cohort. The full time program was Monday-Friday and usually started at 9:30 CST ending roughly around 3:30-4:00 most days. If class ended a bit earlier we would usually stay in the Zoom until 3:30/4, complete work, and the instructors would be available via Slack until 5 for questions. I often worked really late into the night. After that you have night TA’s which are great, and there for you, however it’s a good idea to slowly ween off needing the TA’s for much help in my opinion, if you need them for homework etc of course that’s what they’re there for but eventually start pushing more to do things yourself (you CAN do it!). You’ll be doing homework practically every night which can take hours, and will have weekend projects due the next Monday. Always make sure to turn in homework the next morning, just don’t get behind in assignments, especially Codewars. Keep to a schedule and complete all work and Codewars before you graduate. You’ll thank yourself. Will this impact your life, mmm yes. Can you do things outside of it well that depends, how much do you want to get out of this experience? Stay healthy, drink water, get a schedule, workout, keep yourself right. Because I and 3 other close friends who graduated with me fully submersed ourselves into this thing. It will eat up all your time, but like the military in my opinion that’s what a bootcamp does. Class varies week by week, they’re always changing things at Coding Temple so what you cover, for how long, etc may vary from what we did. Look at the weeks on their site to get an idea of technologies you’ll cover. Look up imposter syndrome, first off never compare yourself to others, and second of all don’t worry. When you’re in the middle of the program you will think…DOES this click, will it click? I now UNDERSTAND code, it’s so weird how you’ll understand it and can now learn it yourself, this is the most important thing. You will not learn everything in terms of being extremely proficient, you cover so much in this bootcamp week after week. This exposes you to technologies and your instructors teach you how to teach yourself. Now that I’ve graduated I realize I can teach myself because I was taught by CodingTemple. Had I tried doing this by myself outside of a cohort, I can’t even fathom the year or year+ that it would have taken me to understand how to learn to code. Don’t be hard on yourself, you’ll be exposed to so much material, do your best, put in the hours, make friends with your classmates, and maybe purchase a Zoom membership to work with eachother — I did and that $30 I spent was worth it.
Python & HTML/CSS Pre-Work
When you finally decide and choose to go Coding Temple make sure that your cohort date is far enough that you can review your prework and have ample time to study. I’d say leave yourself one month (if possible)—I had about a week and a half, and another one of my friends only had two days? (he supplemented his prework with the first week of class—that must have been rough). You’ll have to read through a crash course Python book (provided by Coding Temple) and do their Python, HTML/CSS assignments. You want to have a good foundation for Python, it will make the learning experience better for you 1000%. However as I said, I only had a week to review and easily put 80+ hours in the first week of pre-work.
HTML/CSS Week
You’re going to learn to build websites. Week one was as you’d expect, my sites were no bueno haha. My graduation project though, wow my site looks too KLEEN. You’ll learn to love it, and I don’t think I’m even favoring front-end over back-end work. Maybe I like both? But nonetheless you’ll end up building sites and styling them. This was a fun week and honestly working on project websites was an important time to bond with classmates and really aim to develop those relationships. Please don’t be that class mate that doesn’t want to get to know your team members, you’re going to need friends to go through this with, you’re going through the same challenges, and not only will you learn from one another but you’ll be there to support each other.
Python Week(s)
Python will be your primary language but you’ll also cover JavaScript after this. You’re going to do whiteboards every morning of every week of class, in Python. Whiteboards are preparing you for interviews, you’ll take turns each morning of the class week and will work on a problem in front of your classmates. You’ll learn to break down a problem, what you have to do, and code it. You’re going to cover all your pre-work material during Python week and then some.
JavaScript Week
Wow Python-JavaScript brain is a thing. I worked on a whiteboard and started writing a combination of both languages. I’ll be working more on JavaScript now that I’ve graduated but this week is like the others, a good experience in being exposed to more things.
Flask/React Weeks
No slacking these weeks, these are likely the most time/content intensive weeks out of the cohort. Some opinion may vary, Flask is harder than React or vice versa, pay attention, do your assignments/projects, and I recommend that you determine which you like more and pay attention to what you do these weeks. You’ll be repeating very similar practices for your graduation project ! You’ll either create a react app, a react app that can lightly integrate Flask, or solely a Flask app (which is what I did).
Numpy, Pandas, etc. (Data Science)
Some people want to become data scientists/analysts and may not want to become software engineers this may cover the lessons for you. If you want to be one of those people who plays with data for a living pay attention to some of the data manipulation you do this week. Start thinking about what jobs you’d like to pursue if you really like this week. Maybe you’ll want to apply to all jobs front/back-end and even data science.
Graduation Project
As I mentioned you’ll build an app. I believe I started working two weeks out from graduation on mine in addition to taking class. This project is very important. You may not finish everything that you’d like, but I did what I wanted and this is one of the primary things you’ll outline in your software engineer resume.
Career Assistance
I can’t wait to work with Marlene, she is amazing. She’ll help you write your resume and all the things with lifetime career assistance, which was a big reason I joined. You’ll start working with her a week or two before you graduate on resume writing then you’ll dive in after you graduate and apply to jobs.
Graduates
So you’ve graduated, Coding Temple will then move you into their alumni group and will give you access to be part of the network of other graduates, and have interview prep, etc. I look forward to this!
Conclusion
All in all, I knew nothing about coding when I started, and now I can teach myself how to code. I’ve learned so much, and had exposure to things in a curriculum that I never would have understood to put together myself. I feel that with my previous job experience, with how I can sell myself, and how I can communicate the experience that I’ve had at Coding Temple that I will be able to find a job. Before I even graduated I’ve had people reach out to me via LinkedIn requesting my application. I leave you with:
def shouldijoin(answer)
if answer == yes:
print(“You should join Coding Temple.”)

GI Bill Benefits
(If you’re in the military or are a veteran and want to use your G.I. Bill try to get in touch with Ryan Butz at Coding Temple. Your VA payment to Coding Temple should be easy—mine didn’t process for a couple months because of a misunderstanding, but I then got in touch with Ryan and he took care of me quick (2-3 days VA confirmation quick)—thank you Ryan and Nicole is amazing by the way! Apply for your eligibility on VA.gov, and once the VA mails you your certificate of eligibility in the mail, then fill out Coding Temples paperwork. Ryan gave me the enrollment certification form to fill out. -

Very good program. I graduated from the 10 week full-stack online course. One thing I can safely say it that you need to commit all your time to this program. Having any type of job during this bootcamp is a bad idea. This bootcamp will demand all of your free time, especially in the case where you have no prior coding experience. My instructor was Terrell McKinney supported by Ryan Rhoades, both instructors were very friendly, easy to work with, and helpful. After graduating the bootcamp there is ample job search support. Another thing I would like to mention is Coding Temple attitude at constantly improving. Since graduating they are steadily adding more resources and as a graduate that is much appreciated. -

After spending 3.5+ years in financial client service, I was ready to try a something new. Thanks to Coding Temple for providing the perfect opportunity to learn to code and completely rebrand myself. Coding Temple provides boot camp students with fantastic and friendly personal connections. My instructor Terrell McKinney did a great job going through a comprehensive curriculum with us and my TAs Ryan Rhoades and John Loveland were a blast to work with. There are also evening and weekend TAs to make sure you are always able to get help when you need it. We cover lots of technologies, but just to name a few, GitHub, Python, SQL, RESTful APIs, Flask, TypeScript React, JavaScript, Numerical Python, Python Pandas, etc. After the completion of the ten week program, students who complete the course with sufficient proficiency (plenty of support to achieve this if you simply commit to it!) are presented with a truly impressive array of job-seeking tools, including professional mock interviews through Skilled Inc and a comprehensive job board with Huntr. Plenty of guest speakers from all over the industry are invited in and they are truly inspiring and helpful for the beginning of a software engineer's journey. I finished in mid-December 2020 and now I am neck deep in the job search. With these tools at my disposal I feel confident that I will be able to embark upon a fulfilling career in software engineering.
Before signing up, please note that the program requires a lot of commitment. In my case, I was not working at all, not even part time, during the boot camp. That part can potentially be tricky. My honest advice is that if you need to work at least part time, do not enroll for the full time course. Just do a part time course. Students with unshakeable commitments outside of the boot camp seemed to really struggle for it. Those with the most commitment made the most progress and seem to be the most likely to succeed in coding in general.
