Great, fulfilling, tough, grateful, concise
I had a great experience with BrainStation learning about UX design. It was eye opening and I highly recommend it. The UX bootcamp is tough but covered a wide range of topics in 12 weeks. It definitely prepares you for the industry. -

Beyond Liberating

The amount of skills we learned in such a short amount of time was immense. The biggest portion of why this bootcamp is the best one out there for digital skills training is due to the community building aspect of it. Everyone was so close-knitted and worked together perfectly. It was really fun to work cross-collaboratively as well. The education team was so supportive, understanding, and inspiring. they truly made me feel like I was a great UX Designer by the end of it. -

You'll find out how much you can push yourself

I wished I could speak to the educators more. We get one-on-ones sometimes, but once a lecture is done, their gone. I definitely like how much you could network with others and how BrainStation holds events so you have the capacity to do so. Also, they hold Power Hours, where you can talk to people who have already spent 2+ years in UX design and who're really insightful. I definitely wish we got to learn about AI a little more, but it's encouraged to use it as a tool, so I really like that. It's the future. Overall, I had a good time. I made new friends, struggled a lot, but I think if you keep pushing, you'll make it to the end! -

Helpful and challenging but not for everyone

I had a great experience at BrainStation for UX Design, it was challenging which was really much needed for me. I found my educators to be engaging and my TA was extremely helpful and supportive. While I learned a lot during my course, I do feel like a certain level of the field is required to be able to grasp the content and do well. The educators were good during lectures, however a lot of the time my classmates were really the ones to help each other out. I did really our group projects, and solo capstone project. I would have liked some tests each week to confirm our understanding of what we had learned. It felt a lot of the time other students were piggy backing off each other because they felt lost. I also wish the guest speakers who work in the industry would have been alumni or someone who was in our shoes in their past to share more of a hardship story. Often time, the speakers were persons who graduated with a degree in college. I 'm not really sure about the job assistance, as again I felt speakers who came in didn't seem to be hiring though I do feel like making these connections are important. It would be helpful to bring in hiring managers to showcase our skills to. -

Challenging but inconsistent
Definitely not beginner friendly. You need some type of background in the field to be able to keep up with the program. The curriculum overpacked with extra projects and hard to follow them. -

Going into the boot camp, I was told that there would be a lot of work, late nights and dedication. They weren't wrong. It was a transformative program and that came with a lot of work. I was very tired at the end and needed much time to sit and reflect which I didn't have time to do during the course. The educators were experts in the field and very knowledgeable which made the program feel distinguished and I could trust their judgement and values. The school had a good sense of community and pride which made me feel reassured that it was a great school to learn at. -

Product Management Course
The product management course was very informative and provides a comprehensive review of the day-to-day role of a Product Manager. The teachers provided anecdotes of the realities of being Product Managers, which was very insightful and gave me a better perspective as to whether it's a job I want to actively pursue. -

I thoroughly enjoyed the course. The instructors were great at explaining each section. However, I wish the curriculum had more examples or explanations for students who are new to the the PM/tech. -

Course was great! Touched on a lot of concepts, including Agile. Instructors provided a lot of great industry examples, and not just from digital or e-commerce companies but in other industries as well. I would highly recommend this course if you are looking to enhance your professional knowledge, have no clue about PM, wanting to change careers, want to better understand how to work with PO's or even if you want to start your own company or have a great idea and not sure where to start. -

This has been an intense program. At times, I felt like I was ahead of the game and other times, very behind. You get taught a lot of information and focus on projects heavily. I learned a lot, made amazing notes and resources and built some solid projects. I think it was well worth the time and money and feel like ive got a good understanding of the concepts. It was hard though!! I would highly recommend having some insight into Javascript - working on the odin project before the camp would give you a good head start. -

My Experience with a 3-Month Web Development Course
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
If you're looking to enter web development and have around $ 17k, plus a current job with no plans for a new one, this class could be beneficial for a quick learning experience. However, it didn't meet my expectations. I enrolled hoping to gain skills, earn trust from companies, secure internships, and eventually recoup my investment. Unfortunately, after graduating in April, I found that many companies didn't recognize the course for internships, leaving me jobless and out of funds for last seven months. If you're in a similar situation, I'd advise against investing in this very short 3-month course. Consider enrolling in a one-year full-stack program at a college or university like York for less than $ 10k, where you might have better support for internships and co-op opportunities. -

A good introduction to AI

Enrolled into the AI course in order to gain understanding of the foundational concepts and get some guidance on usage, risks, etc. and I was not disappointed. It is a lot of material covered in a short time frame so staying on top of things was essential, instructors were patient and resourceful which helped a lot. Ending the course with a project and presentation helped with applying some of the concepts learned during the course and provided a good insight into what the rest of the class took away from the course. A good learning experience in all! -

Web Development Bootcamp

During my time at BrainStation, I enrolled in the web development bootcamp. Although I had no prior hands-on coding experience, I was initially hesitant about my ability to fully comprehend the course material. However, the structured syllabus, knowledgeable and approachable instructors, and helpful teaching assistants made my transition into this new career path much smoother. Thanks to the practical, hands-on approach to teaching, which was emphasized during class and project assignments, I found it much easier to grasp the core concepts of web development. -

Lots of great learnings, helpful and supportive environment
learnt a lot, love the instructors. Overall a great experience. Would loved to have seen more strategy and reporting based materials, group works and demonstrations more so than straight talking from the slides. -

BRAINSTATION UI
course taught a lot of good core components of ui material, but how to work through figma wasn't touched on as much as i would have liked. i wish there was more work on making component types and working with auto layout -

engaging, thorough, professional, balanced,
The UI Design course was an incredible experience! The instructors were not only amazing but also highly knowledgeable in their field. Their positive and inspiring approach made the learning process enjoyable. I learned a great deal from this course and feel confident in my UI design skills now though I need to continue to work and refine them. Cheers! -

Amazing!!!
The instructor was very helpful, and the course was very easy to follow. It was such a pleasure to study under Anas and Silvia!! Lessons on UI were very informative, the only suggestion I have is to create an agreement early on to ensure that no student will be cutting off other students with questions or interrupting the class. -

UI Bootcamp - Brainstation
Overall it was a wonderful experience with great instructors that have industry knowledge, they were patient and understanding with all the students. They made the effort to make time for 15-30 mins after the end of each class for anyone to answer questions or show off the work they were doing and get a design review. -

BrainStation
It was a positive introduction to the world of data and a solid first step in my journey.
The instructors provided valuable insights, and the eight weeks were dynamic and interactive.
Overall, I would recommend BrainStation and their Data Analytics course. -

Perfect Class for Data Analytics Basics!

I started a new role as a data analyst and this class was a nice refresher on advanced excel and a great introduction to the basics of SQL and Tableau. Our instructor Elana was so patient and kind and made sure she answered all of our questions. I loved that she used real use cases from her job at Roku to help us understand certain concepts. I enjoyed that it was in person and that it was once a week and only for a few months - it was very manageable. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a quick but in depth beginner class. -

Very enjoyable, high level teaching
I enrolled in the data analytics course to make my CV more well rounded having come from a humanities background at university. I have really enjoyed this course as an inviting and stimulating introduction to the world of data analytics. The teaching has been very good and has very much inspired me to go further into the data analytics field. -

Data Science Course at BrainStation

The course was insightful and learned about regressions. This course focused on Python only. I wish we also got to work with other languages and wish it was longer than 8 weeks. Felt like we only brushed over the more important topics like linear regression and classification because the class was only 8 weeks. Wish we spent more time on it. The instructors are very helpful and always willing to explain concepts further and answer questions. I just wish we divided into the more important topics further and had time to work on our project in class. -

I had a positive experience with this course overall. The content was enriching and insightful, significantly enhancing my understanding of the subject matter. While some classes were content-heavy, the comprehensive final project successfully tied everything together, providing a cohesive overview of the course material. Although having more time to review assignments would have been beneficial, I still found the course to be valuable and impactful. -

It is a interesting course
In this course you need to have a more than basic knowledge of Excel, the classes are very interesting, they teach you how to use the necessary platforms to analyze data, I liked the course. -

Great refresher course!

I’m in the marketing field but never hurts to get a refresher especially with the evolving trends and algorithm changes. I was given the opportunity to take this digital marketing course and I don’t regret it! It’s suitable for those really unfamiliar with the marketing basics but is still quite helpful for more seasoned marketers to hear from experienced professionals on what’s currently trending/working in the field. Great experience overall. -

Web Dev course - Disappointed

The instructors are kind of just going through the motions. My questions aren’t readily answered. It takes a while for them to get back to you -a week typically- and it is very rushed during the class itself. Even “learner support” is unresponsive. It’s very frustrating since the tuition isn’t just disposable income for me. I’m worried because I planned on taking the longer software e bootcamp with them too. I wish I went with a different coding school. I qualified for the Grace Hopper program too. It worries me about how loosely Brainstation actually means “help you land a coding job.” Feeling stressed and unsupported. Might have been better off taking the self pace ones and saved more cash. I wish they would even care enough to rectify this for me and help me prepare for a job in tech. -

Excellent professors and comprehensive content
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
I did the part time data science boot camp and I had a great experience with it. The professors were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The content has a heavy emphasis on machine learning - once you get a handle on data analysis with SQL and Python, you dive into ML very thoroughly and spend much of the rest of the bootcamp on it. After, there is a relatively short unit on big data manipulation using services like AWS. That was very useful, however, it was very much an intro to AWS as opposed to a thorough course like the coverage of data analysis and ML. There was also a brief overview of bash/command line and git. They did a great job covering the essentials of the field in the 8-month program. -

Digital Marketing Course: Comprehensive & Collaborative
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
Recently, I completed a Digital Marketing course at BrainStation, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. The professor was truly exceptional. He not only displayed in-depth knowledge and expertise in the subject matter but also fostered an environment ripe for class participation. There were moments in the course where certain concepts were challenging for some of us, but the patience and thoroughness with which he explained ensured that no one was left behind. His commitment to our understanding truly stood out.
If there were one aspect I'd suggest for improvement, it would be to allow students to work on their final presentations during class time. While the project was primarily expected to be completed from home, having some dedicated in-class time would promote a more collaborative environment and ensure that tasks align closely with the project's expectations.
Nevertheless, I highly recommend BrainStation to anyone seeking a comprehensive grasp of digital marketing. The value of having such a dedicated professor leading the way is immeasurable -

This digital marketing bootcamp is the perfect overview of all things in the field. As someone new to the digital marketing sphere, I feel well-equipped to dive in further. I would suggest really taking advantage of the instructors as a resource and taking the course seriously! It is not just a great thing to add to your resume, it's an awesome experience to grow your knowledge base. And the take aways can be applied to so many different fields of work! -

Data Analytics
I think this class is a good primer but would be improved by greater focus in labs v. instruction. The labs are rushed and difficult to gain practical knowledge in. I think in order to be proficient in any of these tools I would need to take another class that delved deeper into the tools. Maria was a great resource and very helpful and knowledgable. -

The course was great! I learned a lot about SQL and tableau. However, I thought that we would do a lot more analysis and less excel formulas in the first little bit of the course. I think I would have benefited from learning a lot more on modeling of data, and interpreting data visually. It was very helpful though! Will look forward to any more courses that I take from BrainStation. I will definitely apply my knowledge in my future endeavors. -

BrainStation's UX Design Course was an awesome beginner class for those new to the field. The teacher have a variety of different perspective that bring inspiration, engagement, and forward-thinking to the field that help you to level up your thinking and work. Although this is a UX course versus a Bootcamp, I walked away with a full case-study as well as feeling prepared to build out a portfolio. The community at BrainStation is welcoming and supportive and really enjoyed this in-person course. Will definitely be recommending BrainStation to friends and colleagues! -

12 intense weeks for a career change
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
The UX boot camp was very insightful and hopefully provided a good preparation for work life. The teachers worked relentlessly and were very supportive most of the time. The teachers were also supported by a very knowledgable teacher assistant. The mission is to give you as much information as possible in 12 weeks and make you work in as many projects as possible to include in your portfolio. What it is not told you is that you are expected to dedicate yourself full time including the weekends, meaning you won't have much time for doing anything else in your life besides work. There are times with multiple deadlines or with very laborious ones that actually take longer than expected and you'll often feel frustrated and behind. You can book in 15 minutes, one to one slots with the teachers but I found this to be very insufficient and always in a rush. The premises of the school are not quite inspiring, bland white and with serious acoustic issues inside and outside the classrooms. The ergonomy of the classrooms is very bad - the whiteboards locations in the classrooms simply don't work being located on side walls with impossible visibility, the chairs are too big and clunky and there are plug batteries scattered all over the floor. One negative point is you are rushed to leave school at 6p.m as there are other courses and multiple events happening with the main purpose of market the school to prospective students, so if you want to work longer hours you have to go somewhere else. Beware of the marketing techniques of selling being in the middle of Shoreditch and of the tech community - this is totally irrelevant when you don't have time to do anything but work. The long awaited Demo Day when students are showing off their projects is unfortunately quite voided of hiring managers from companies. There are plenty of shady caracthers you are not really sure what they are there for. Showing off the project to people outside of the school community was however a good training experience. Overall, it's a great experience but not without flaws. -

Data Science Bootcamp Experience
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
As a graduate from the Data Science bootcamp, I would like to highlight several aspects:
- Course curriculum
- Faculties
- Professional development
Course Curriculum:
The program itself is very well-structured, with a clear connection between lectures. It starts from the basics and progresses seamlessly to advanced data science topics. The curriculum is also regularly updated to align with recent industry developments, such as the algorithms behind ChatGPT, among others. The materials provided, along with external links to further expand our knowledge, were valuable additions. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the course structure.
Faculties:
The educators are exceptionally friendly and approachable. They make a concerted effort to simplify complex concepts for better understanding. Despite the program's intensity, they consistently motivate us to stay on track toward our goals and provide continuous feedback throughout the bootcamp. Additionally, having a Teaching Assistant (TA) was a valuable resource for us to seek assistance with questions or any capstone-related inquiries.
Professional Development:
Finally, the career support team equipped us with numerous tips to excel during the job search process, from refining our resumes to developing essential communication skills for interviews. They also conducted workshops from time to time, allowing us to practice and improve these skills.
