This is honestly a great program but, you have to be motivated to put in the hard work. The code isn't going to write itself so you have to research and work your way through things but this is an amazing course, I loved the whole experience. It was an intense 3 months but, I got through it and gained so many new skills as well as having a change of mentality about how I work. Highly recommend BrainStation. -

For anyone looking to level up in SEO, SEM, Google analytics, this is literally the place to be. The courses are taught not just by professors (though the amazing professors don't get me wrong), but by industry experts who work at the jobs, we are trying to get! They're actually just amazing - they have the personality where they actually teach practically, and they have examples from daily jobs that are incredibly helpful, along with lots of little tips and tricks which led to an overall amazing experience
Super grateful for my amazing instructor, Graham Williams! Highly recommend. -

I'm impressed with the amount of information and skills I acquired through my UX Design course at Brainstation. Mina skillfully and pleasantly guided us through conceiving a problem, to creating a solution via a clickable prototype, and the many steps in between. The online classroom experience was amazing, and I made friends all over the world. -

The data science course is great for those who have some background in Python and data analysis. Through this class, I learned how to clean and model data, which is the basics of machine learning. The teachers were fantastic and they related everything to practical use. It's fast-paced, but the teachers are great at keeping you up to speed. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who's looking to start on machine learning and data modeling. -

It was a great program, VERY intensive. Not for the faint of heart. It takes longer than 3-months to be an expert in any industry, but this course definitely sets you up for success as a Digital Marketer. -

UX Course
Had a great experience with the course. Definitely not as intense as a bootcamp as this was just a certificate course, but instructors were all willing to help outside of class time and had great feedback. Would recommend this to people who are unsure of whether or not they would like UX/UI as a warm up :-) -

I came in with a list of things I wanted to learn, by about week 6 we had covered 80% of the advanced concepts I wanted to know about. In the following 6 weeks we learned way more then I thought was even possible. I feel extremely well armed to be able to thrive in the market now. I was even able to land a job before even being done school. -

I was surprised by the experience. Even though it is an online course, you get to learn a lot! This is really a fast-paced Bootcamp, and you need to give more than your 100%, but it is definitely worth it. With their Power Hours, you get to learn more about the industry and what is happening now. You also get to practice real-life projects with their Hackaton and Sprint 2, where they partner with big companies. -

As an older student I wondered if I would be able to keep up with this course as well as the course on UI Design that I was taking at the same time. The instructors did a great job explaining concepts and were readily available when I had questions. I feel that I've learned a lot of valuable information that will be very useful for work. I enjoyed the breakout room activities working as a team. It was an action packed 10 weeks that kept me busy and I enjoyed the process. I would definitely take a class from BrainStation again. -

I thought about joining BrainStation for over 2 years. I am so happy I finally pulled the trigger, the investment feels so worthwhile.
Don't wait, contact brainstation and book an appointment with one of their advisors. Once I did, I was was convinced. I really believe the BrainStation bootcamp is the real deal. Years after I finished my first degree BrainStation has enhanced my confidence and reinvigorated my passion for continued learning.
I'm taking the time to leave this detailed review because I wish someone would have helped me start sooner.
If you only take one thing away from this review, let it be this. I felt more passion from BrainStation's faculty in three months than in my entire 4 years at uni. They care immensely about the service they provide and about the student journey. BrainStation is worth it.

Brainstation's UX Design course gave me the complete understanding of the field of UX which I was looking to get. Throughout the course, we were able to apply our learning from each week to a project that we were building to present at the end of the course. The structure was friendly and the instructors were very helpful with explaining concepts, giving real world examples and answering questions during class and later, on Slack. If you're looking for a good understanding of UX, this course is it! It will start you up and you can build from there very confidently. -

This was my first time taking a course at BrainStation and I couldn't have asked for anything more. In the span of 10 weeks, I was able to gain skills in programs such as Sketch, Flinto and InVision. The lectures focus on the theory as well as hands on learning. At the end of the course, you have a final project that is completed to add into your portfolio. I would highly recommend BrainStation for anyone looking to advance their skills in a certain area. I look forward to taking more courses here in the future. -

BrainStation is a fast-paced bootcamp and it's great for novice UX Design students because you get to learn from educators who are UX professionals that have examples and stories from their own experiences. There are some educators who are amazing and patient during lectures and there are some who zip through it. The diploma is condensed so every week moves very quickly - I'm able to schedule 1-on-1 times with TAs and educators whenever I am confused or need feedback to get myself back on track. Taking this bootcamp is a great stepping stone for me, as a novice, because it gives me a good introduction and a solid base to dive deeper into a specific aspect of UX and UI. Another thing I respect about BrainStation is that they have the connections that leverage us to partner with different big companies - my cohort was able to work on a design sprint with Hello Fresh, a 4D 24-hour hackathon with Google, and many power hour talks throughout the program! I am able to include these projects into my portfolio and resume that they also assist us with too. Make sure to double check with scholarships and that they are applied to your payments - there are a few options that may apply to you and there was a student in my cohort who did not receive it when she really should have gotten it. Best of luck, I hope this helps! -

Great School for Data Analytics and Data Science

It is important to understand that bootcamps are made to open the first door to worlds like data science and data analytics. Taking a 3 or 6 month bootcamp will not automatically make you a data scientist, but it will teach you fundamental concepts, provide the basics to understand what they are all about, and tools to start solving real problems. To become a data analyst or a data scientist you don't just need the bootcamp, it takes time and practice to master the tools and programs involved in these areas. What I can assure you is that Brainstation does an excellent job in giving you tools and knowledge to succed in these two paths. Before starting my three certifications with them in Data Science, Data Analytics and Python, I was only very good at Excel and Tableau and other Business Intelligence applications and data management software; but I had no knowledge of programming, Python, SQL or Machine Learning. After finishing the courses I feel that I understand what each language is made for, and how to use them; I learned new things from Excel and Tableau where I thought I knew almost everything, and I can solve basic to intermediate tasks using SQL and Python now. But I have to repeat this, practice, hard work, and curiosity are a must for you to become a Data Scientist or to find a succesful career in Data Analytics!
I would recommend this course not only for beginners who want to understand more about these topics, but also for managers of technology areas who want to know the breath of these languages in order to manage their teams more efficiently. -

As a global leader in digital skills training, I knew there was no better place for me to continue my education in the realm of digital content marketing than BrainStation. Despite the common challenges of virtual learning (especially during a pandemic), BrainStation has done a great job of utilizing digital mediums to facilitate high-level, well-paced learning opportunities for individuals like myself who are eager to advance their industry knowledge. I have worked in content marketing for the last 5 years, so much of the course material was a bit of a refresher for me but, nonetheless, it was valuable and I appreciated the industry insights provided by the course instructors. I met some great people in my class, and only wish that we had all benefitted from in-person networking opportunities which, unfortunately, aren't possible right now. -

If you're looking to become a solid data analyst, this is the course for you! I really wanted to get a better understanding about the work of a data analyst, and how to work more closely with data in my day -to-day life, so I took this course to help me understand how to interpret data and present it (either in a professional setting, personal writing and also within the scope of my job)
My cohort was taught by instructors from Hootsuite and Uber who were both really passionate about the topic and help you understand how you would take the knowledge on the job. They really took the time to help us understand the homework and course materials outside of class hours and were approachable whenever we had questions.
I learned so much about how to approach real-world problems and examples and create a way to tell a story with data. I learned how to write SQL commands and scripts in our databases, Excel advanced formulas and also how to visualize data on Tableau, all amazing skills to take with you on any career path you choose, I really recommend taking this course!
They were also really good and helping you understand the career paths you can take as a Data Science, Data Engineering and Data Analyst, so you'll be equipped to take on a entry-level role or dive deeper into the topic as a full time professional.

I've had good experiences with Brainstation. I've now taken both their Data Science and Machine Learning certificate programs, and I'll be commenting on the Data Science one here.
First off, the instructors I've had have been top notch. Andrew was my instructor this go round, and it was evident that this guy works data science for a living. You can tell by the way he codes, changes code on the fly at such speed, and debugs code when it's not working. He also seems to be genuinely enchanted with Data Science as a whole. He answered all questions, even my dumb questions, clearly and cleanly.
The course content itself is solid. I highly recommend you know Python prior to taking this course, rather than just knowing a programming language in general. Everything is coded in Python from day 1, to include using some more "advanced" features like list comprehensions, so having a good grasp of Python I think is integral to your experience with these courses. The only thing I really wasn't high on in the course content was the Statistics section; it's simply too large and broad of a topic to cover in the scope of this course. In my opinion, a basic statistics background should already be had before jumping into Data Science. Most classes and topics are like that, but the statistics portion really stuck out to me.
Jupyter notebooks are provided, so the material is flexible and easy to work with. The instructors provide solutions-included notebooks after the lessons, which is handy for someone like me that wants to watch them work the problems and then figure them out in my own manner later.
Due to the nature of these part-time courses, and the material covered in such a short time, don't expect to just listen to lectures and be good at Data Science. You will need to work through the Jupyter notebooks on your own time, and do additional research on your own as well. This should be expected for anyone who has ever coded before, but for those who might think it's a sit back and learn it all class, it's not that easy.
A hanging point for some people is that there's no 'job guarantee' or assistance with BrainStation. To those folks, I ask you do you truly believe that you're going to get a dream job out of a bootcamp's career assistance or guarantees? I think it's a worthless perk for the average student because you're going to have to know your stuff to be successful in the field anyway, and if you don't know your stuff, you're probably not going to stay in that job long even if it's given to you. It may work out for some, but I didn't see it as a requirement.
Overall, I would recommend BrainStation to others, particularly if your company is willing to help with the tuition. -

The BrainStation UX Design Diploma was incredible experience and led to my first internship at a startup so close to where I live. The entire program was delivered online over the course of 3 months. It was based out of Toronto, but like I said, I worked from the comfort of my home without commuting anywhere. Here are some of the highlights and some considerations.
Highlights- Hands-On learning helps you learn fast and makes you feel competent at a fast pace
- Teachers who don't make you feel dumb for asking questions and try to create confidence in students while still remaining open to feedback
- Empathetic and available instructors to help you with the course, but also help you with the emotional aspect of switching your career
- TA's that work even more closely with you and answer questions immediately when you need help
- The course is meant to mimic the real world in so many ways, so that you feel confident when you enter the workplace
- Job search advice and seminars on how to tailor you resume and network with industry professionals
- Forces you to learn things beyond the course content, like time-blocking, which is essential when you do land a job in the industry
- Reading content and then immediately practicing it with your cohort helps solidify concepts
- You get to choose the topic of your capstone project so you feel pretty inspired by what you create
- Many Collaborative work opportunities, and learning to provide feedback from others as well as receive feedback from others on your work on a regular basis
Technology- Figma, Sketch, Invision
- We spent one day on principle and zeplin
Considerations- You're not going to learn everything there is to know about UX in this course, nor any course probably out there
- UX is about life-long learning. When I got my internship I took 3 more courses on the side b/c they were offered to me for free by the company sponsoring the internship, so if you are offered free courses, I recommend taking them. I learned lots afterwards and also on-the-job.
- I don't recommend working while taking this course as it starts out calm and goes into full speed before you know it
- No matter what course you take, it's going to be hard work switching over to that new industry without any work experience. There may not be alot of internships out there, but there ARE some and these are your best bet if you're not coming from a design background.
- It's not going to be easy, but if you love psychology and design, you will likely thrive
- Job Assistance, is NOT job placement. They teach you to create a great resume, talk about how to approach interviews (the most helpful bit) and also try to give you networking advice (which I found to be the least helpful tbh, but that may be because I had no connections to anyone in the industry & was just cold messaging people).
- It was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I am not an intern, making $15,000 more than I was last year and am doing something I find meaningful

One of my friends recommend me to join the Digital Marketing Course in BrainStation. I was so excited to receive her advice and learned a lot from the ten weeks studying.
1. The contents of the course are very useful and practical, including Marketing Strategy, SEO, Google Analysis, Paid Ads., Email Marketing and so on.

I came to the Web Development program at BrainStation from a design background. I had some experience with HTML and CSS, but no broader or deeper understandings of web technologies. The pace of the program is fast, and there were moments of feeling like I wouldn't be able to keep up. However, whenever I would stop to reflect on where I was the week before, I was consistently amazed at how much ground I had covered in such a short amount of time.
There are so many technologies and ideologies out there. It would be impossible for programs like those delivered at BrainStation to cover it all. The beauty of BrainStation is that it reveals to you just how much you can do. After completing the program, I now have the confidence to know that if I need to learn a new web technology quickly, I absolutely can.
Pros
Community mindset, confidence in independent learning, rich resources
Cons

My experience as a BrainStation student was one of the best experiences in my life.
2020 was a year that could be defined with the word change. Like so many other people around the world, I was challenged by the pandemic and lost my job due to covid. Learning about digital marketing had been in my mind for years now, but it was one of those things that I didn't pursue before because of time, routine, being comfortable at work, etc.
The overall experience was very positive, starting with the learning advisors that made the time to answer every question I had and really walked me through the whole process step by step.
The program was fast-paced. I can't emphasize this enough. This is a challenging program that requires your full attention and dedication. I understand every student is different, but in my case, this was the only thing I was able to work on during those 3 months. Between lectures and working on my projects I probably spent around 60 hours per week. The program was challenging but in a very positive way. At first, I was a little bit intimidated by it, especially after 13 years since I attended school, but I was able to adapt very quickly with the support of my educators, my classmates, and family.
I would define my overall experience taking this program as "the perfect storm", (right timing, right educators, and right classmates). The educators (Josh Muirhead and Justin Lowe) were amazing, both of them leaders in their area of expertise and now with a commitment to share their knowledge in order to help shape a new generation of digital marketers. Learning from them was one of the most rewarding experiences during this time.
The instructors' styles of teaching were very different but in my opinion, I feel we received a very well-balanced learning experience. The content was relevant, the examples they used were always current with what's happening in the industry, and we were always encouraged to seek extra sources of information to stay updated with newer digital marketing trends.
The introduction of the capstone project wasn't only a perfect exercise to apply everything that we learned throughout the course but also the perfect output to start our own portfolio to use for potential job opportunities.
I could continue describing what my experience or my day to day was like during this time, but all I can say is that this was the best investment I've ever made. -

I’ve taken two courses (UX Design and Product Management) and can’t recommend it highly enough. The instructors for their courses are world class, who are experts in their respective fields, so much of what they are teaching they have real-life experience in. Most instructions also work at some of the best tech companies around. They’re great at providing guidance about best practices for getting into the field and answering any questions between classes. I also found the online live course format to be an excellent option, which was not only convenient, but also provided a great platform to complete the required course work each week. The final projects are built upon weekly acquired knowledge all of which builds towards a full understanding of the topic by the course’s end. Really great courses for anyone looking to gain some new skills or learn about new technology topics. -

Never could I have imagined that one decision would have such a huge impact on my life.
With the pandemic of 2020, I found myself with plenty of time and no excuses but to face the question of what I truly wanted for my future. I had been looking at attending Wyncode for just over two years, and so I finally decided to take the plunge this past fall season.
My goodness... I never expected it to be the most impactful, amazing, and productive decision of my life thus far. Not to mention, a future and career that is completely transformed, to boot. I learned more than I had ever expected to (considering I was already sold on Wyncode over a few other places I had checked out, receiving far more than I expected was a rare and welcome surprise.) And I was provided with a deeply humane community that I never knew I could be a part of. I felt constantly supported throughout the entire experience, and I felt that I was truly pushed and challenged in the best ways imaginable, to learn and grow in both a technical and personal capacity. And one more time, my future career is now transformed? When they said boot-camp - they were not kidding!...
I have no words. If you are thinking about it - and you can theoretically do this (time, finances etc...)
Take the jump. I can't emphasize how huge that payoff was, that day when I decided to hit "submit" on my application. -

I had 3 great learning experiences at BrainStation, both in person and online live. Most recently, I completed the 5 week Product Management course. In this case, I was gearing up for a career switch into the tech industry, and I just got hired as a PM (not knowing very much about what the role involved). Without a doubt, the course at BrainStation helped me develop a foundation I needed to be successful in my career switch.
One thing that's consistent about all BrainStation courses is their focus on keeping the curriculum current and updated with all the developments and digital skills required in industry. They provided a great overview on PM processes as well as real-life examples from our instructors (who actually work as Product leaders in industry). I found that the reading I was doing on my own complemented the course material very well.
Also, as with all BrainStation courses, there is emphasis placed on applying skills through a project. I think this is where I derived the most value from the course. There is a lot of theory and processes in Product Management, and it differs between companies, but I found that going through the project enabled me to begin to form my own "philosophy" and unique approach to PM.
I would certainly recommend this course to anybody starting off as a PM and encourage them to couple the course content with some independent reading on PM. I would be ready for 2-4 hours of extra work per week on the course project as well. Also, take advantage of the close, small-class environment (even online) and reach out to other classmates and engage with the instructors both in class and on Slack. -

I took the 10 week Brainstation Product Management course virtually (through their Online Live platform) over the course of the Fall - finishing up this December. It was the perfect thing to do on dark Tuesday evenings in a pandemic. This was my second Brainstation course and highly recommend it if you’re looking to familiarize yourself with PM concepts. I’ve been a PMM before, so I was familiar with many of the units covered in class from observing PM’s on the job, however, I never really had the opportunity to practice them myself. In order to complete the course, you have to do a project - either alone or in a group - and present your Go-to-Market strategy (though the presentation part is not mandatory). I found myself looking forward to spending time on the project and it’s really the best way to actually absorb the content. I feel confident that I could apply my learnings to real-life situations, either on the job or in a job interview. I learnt more in these 10 weeks than the last year+ of reading product management and agile methodology books. -

I found my instructors engaging and tried their best to make the course content understandable. I will say, if you do not have a background in statistics, this course may be more difficult for you. I personally didn't have a background in statistics, so the latter half of the course was challenging. If you miss a class, you will fall behind.
There's no words that can really explain how wonderful Wyncode Academy is. I came from a graphic design background so I understood a little more than others but I still learned SO MUCH with UX/UI. Every single person on the staff is so attentive and caring– they do a really wonderful job of keeping in touch and creating a personal relationship with you.
(One of the co-founders, Jo, personally called me while I was going through a personal situation to ask if I was ok and if I needed anything.)
There's a ton of professional experience coming from Gessica (the instructor) and she will answer any question and go through everything step-by-step. If you're still looking for help the AMAZING TAs are available after class and a little on Saturday.
Another great thing to take away from this course is my public speaking skills.
There isn't any topic they don't touch at Wyncode. Yes, it's a coding academy but it felt like it was also a professional world academy.

Wyncode was an intense 10 weeks but very rewarding experience! If you put in the work, you will succeed. If I could do it again, I would in a heartbeat. All the staff members, instructors, TAs are experts in their field. Gessica is definitely the best instructor I've experienced in my life! And I feel very well-prepared for my new career path. The culture at Wyncode is very supportive, transparent and positive as well.
