I felt cared for and supported throughout the learning process.
We completed lessons on the platform and projects on our own. The projects were reviewed and approved or returned for improvements. Every improvement was worth while and significantly increased the quality of my work.
I went from feeling a bit overwhelmed to feeling excited about the next task.
“How does this work?” became “I know I can do this!”

I started the Web developer intro course a few week ago and let me tell you, i really enjoyed the whole experience. My favorite parts were;
1. How simply topics are explained ( with everyday, easy to understand language ).Ive done other online courses in the past and i admit that now i understand certain concepts better now in this course
2. The projects are taken step by step and i liked the story telling part of it. ( i felt like a a real Web Developer building cool stuff in days . lol)
3. support: There is always someone from the Yandex team or other students to help you or un-block you when you are stuck .
They constantly check on you and find out how learning is going. I really appreciate that.
Lastly, the Yandex learning platform is really clean, organized and "clutter-free" . If you are like me and you don't like busy pages with stuff all over the place, Yandex is for you. Clean UI
I'll definitely like to continue with the other courses after the intro course.

Web Developer Boot camp

After finishing a full-stack web development boot-camp, I felt lost and was definitely not ready for a job in the web development world. Since then, I knew that boot camps were not meant for me, but then I was going through Facebook and saw this ad for being a beta test for this new course that Practicum had, that one being a web development course. In my mind, I was skeptical. I already knew how boot-camps worked and how all they care about most of the time is to make money without caring whether the students learn or not, but I decided to give it a try; after all, it couldn’t hurt, and I was a beta test. I’ve decided to enroll and did the introductory week and learned more in 2 weeks than I did in 2 months in my other boot-camp. Ever since I started, it has been quite a ride, with impressive and up to date materials. You’re not just reading and asked to do something that you have no idea how to do, you get to practice all that you’ve learned, and then you get a task. The other great thing is that while you are learning, you are also learning Agile methodology, which is used for most companies out there. Now the tasks can be difficult and challenging at time, but you have a fantastic community and a tutor that is always willing to answer your questions. Reviews are the same way, they can seem as they are too picky at times, but in reality, they are trying to review your code as an actual company would. Thanks to Practicum, I could definitely say I am way better developer than I was when I came out of my other boot-camp and thanks to them, I now feel like confident enough to enter the field -

This program is no joke!! It is HARD but you will learn. Each part is split into smaller courses. In each course, there are lessons and tasks to test your grasp of the material. Projects are spread out based on 2-week sprints. In each sprint, you are task with getting through certain lessons and a project. The lessons will take hours and so does the project. If you are really not committed to about 20 hours a week it will be hard to complete (at least in the first week of each sprint with hours spread out WHENEVER you can), but you will feel SO accomplished after each sprint and project is completed. Slack is very structured and helpful. They believe in publicly stating your questions (rather than private DMs) which turns the students into a community helping each other get through. The staff is exceptional addressing ANY question and doing webinars showing you harder parts. Honestly, plain and simple. This is the best online course I have ever seen in my life!!! You will push yourself and accomplish things you never though you could. Practicum is making magic. -

I was part of the Data Science track at Practicum. I learn about Data Processing, Exploratory Data Analysis, Statistical Data Analysis Technics, SQL, Machine Learning related concepts. The best thing about this Bootcamp is a project which is reviewed by professionals of Data science. There were around 15 different projects. You can ask any question related to Data Science and learning in the course to instructors, the answers were really helpful. The slack workspace is really organized well. What in most like about the Bootcamp is the end of the sprint webinar.
During this Bootcamp course, I transformed my career in the NLP domain from Full stack development. The concepts I learned here related to data handling and preprocessing, I use it in my workspace now. -

I have been working in the tech field for almost 4 years, but as an HR specialist, I never coded. I mean, I saw some code and even stopped being so afraid of it, but I never thought about coding on my own. I knew I should automate simple repetitive tasks and that it is a nice idea to get experience in web scraping. Before I found out about Practicum, I thought that I’d have to spend lots of time and money in order to get these skills.
After studying for about 4 months, I can scrape data, and I no longer need Google Sheets/Excel for analytics tasks, because I have Python. Moreover, due to the project approach implemented in Practicum, I can do “full-stack” analytics — from preprocessing and making complex SQL queries to drawing fancy graphs and conclusions in Jupyter Notebook.
Some things now look simpler, although other ones look like a whole new world. For instance, right now we're learning about A/B tests, and there are so many little nuances that I would never say that it is just about how to color buttons and split users. I wonder what other surprises are expecting me later on... -

I’ve been a student in Practicum’s full Data Scientist course for a little while now and man is it a lot of information. As a recent graduate with a degree in Data Analytics, I’m well aware of the scope of this industry right now (Unsupervised vs Supervised Learning, Data Warehousing, Networking, Text Analysis, Machine Learning, the list goes on!). There is simply so much material out there that it is difficult to know where to start. Peer to peer, I’ll be honest. This course requires a tremendous investment of time, more so for those completely new to the material, and potentially more than the developers have suggested. That said, it is also the best course I’ve found on the market today. Not only do you have exclusive access to collaborative community channels, you have 24/7 live support from the Practicum team, opportunities for one-on-one help with your tutor, and a multitude of supplemental resources to help you along your journey. Let me be clear, this is a boot camp course. It is intense. It is hard and it will test you. I’m not personally done with my course yet, but I have already gained so much already, some of which I’ve added to my resume. I wholeheartedly recommend this course and please feel free to reach out to me if you’d like more information. -

I recently completed the first phase of the Data Analyst course using Python at Practicum by Yandex as a beta tester.
Considering the fact that my track record of starting numerous courses across various platforms always ended up with me leaving the course mid-way for some reason or the other. (Read laziness and procastination)
Yandex, was a totally diffrent experience for 3 main reasons:
1) Deadlines: Considering each of the modules have a 2 week deadline attached to it, this sense of urgency actually helped a lazy person like me. However, there are options available in case you miss these deadlines but still having a sword above my head helped 😃
2) Projects: Besides the regular lessons, there is a project that needs to be done for each sprint, Also at the end of any particular phase an integrated project awaits you that tests in amalgation all that you have learnt across the various sprints. Each of the project is checked and reviewed by tutors with comments to improve
3) Tutoring and Slack Community: there is a super amazing slack channel and a very well versed group of professional tutors at your disposal to help you understand concepts and guide you whenever you are stuck.
I can't thank these guys enough! A great experience so far!

* The material is very structured with great examples that make it clear and easy to learn.
* The team makes it feel like home, always trying to assist with various issues and helping you to get through your track.
* You can start practicing immediately in the course platform, and work on your projects - the installation of the workspace on your PC is not a barrier! you can deal with it later.
* The course takes you step-by-step with small amounts of theory and small tasks - a great thing if you deal with concentration difficulties!
* There's practicing from the very begining, you code nice stuff before you notice
* All the topics you need for your projects are covered in the course texts, no need to drown in a sea of information - you'll know what to search for.
* Very organized forum for questions about tasks which makes it easy to find what you need quickly.
* All the necessary material is textual, the videos are usually just a bonus - a great advantage if you are the type of person that loves texts and despises videos like me :)
Besides that, I think you'll need to develop a good coding style on your own, and search for efficient and aesthetic ways to implement your code. I came to this course with some experience in Python coding and with a BSc in electrical engineering, but I don't think that's necessary for studying. -

I took the intro to data science course. it sounded the most interesting to me of all the intro courses. I really enjoyed taking the intro course. it gave me a good feel of what I was getting into. I didn't realize how long the intro course was when I first took it. I thought it was only going to be a couple of lessons but it was 7 courses with multiple lessons. Everyone was extremely helpful whenever I ran into any issues or needed help with a mistake in my coding. -

This was my first experience learning about Python, but the Practicum system made it super easy! They made sure to explain how everyone function worked and included great summary sheets at the end of each chapter for easy reference. There were a few frustrating tasks where I had some persistent errors, but that was usually due to a silly mistake on my part than the fault of the program. Overall, I'd highly recommend this course to someone looking to learn about Python and as a springboard to more advanced courses. Also, there was a great community with this where people asked questions and provided feedback. -

I'm a beta tester for the Practicum by Yandex on the Data Scientist Track. The strengths of the program lie in their real-life data, real-industry data tasks and systematic curriculum. I like the way they stipulate the research question at the beginning of each lesson, then give a summary of how the lesson will help learners decipher that question via data analysis. The big question at the beginning will then be divided into smaller tasks with corresponding data analysis lessons. They wrap up the lesson by pointing out how the learner's progress has helped to answer the question and what the next steps are. I find this process very helpful and exciting since it makes me act as if I was a real data scientist. A special shout-out for the technical support team, teaching assistant and community managers for being so responsive, attentive and friendly (they always put a smiling icon after their explanation/message) to learners' theoretical questions as well as their challenges in coding or keeping up with the learning process. There were some points during the process I thought I could have given up had there not been their timely support and encouragement. There are two things I think the platform can improve to help learners excel more in their work: the use of English language and adding more theories. I am not a native English speaker, sometimes I found it difficult to understand what the instructions are on the platform since their English syntaxes sound unfamiliar to me. I also hope to get more theories on data science. Since it's still in its testing period, I believe the team will soon fix all these bumpy issues and the new generation of learners will have the best learning experience as they can! -

Practicum by Yandex (the Russian tech giant) is a new platform for learning data science, and has a lot of potential for growth in my opinion.
While the fact that it's a new platform does mean it still has a few bumps here and there, they are quickly fixed - and the team comes up with new ideas and initiatives for enhancing the learning process.
The team does their absolute best to be there for you, from the community managers, through the instructors all the way to a dedicated 24/7 support team.
For an online platform, it has two novel and welcome additions - biweekly (every two weeks is a 'sprint', a learning subject) webinars and personal projects. Those projects, in my opinion, are the highlight of this program - they enable you to express yourself as a data scientist, with constructive, personal feedback.
In addition, at the end of the program they offer aid landing your first job, but I haven't reached that part yet.
One thing I'm missing a bit is an emphasis on data science theory. But, well - even Practicum's name implies at its dedication for implementation and hands-on experience. In any case, a good data scientist has to know how to find new textbooks and research papers :) -

I'm a remote freelancer with many years of experience in the field and this year due to Coronavirus I decided to accept an invitation form Women Who Code to become a beta-tester of the Practicum by Yandex platform. I joined the Web Developer Professional Certificate Program. When I joined the Program I was convinced that my prior professional experience will make it easy to surf the program. To my surprise, I got overwhelmed with things I thought I was doing great at before like CSS. It’s true I never knew about BEM which blew my mind and at certain point got me confused, it was hard and frustrating. Code reusability is the the main focus of the Bootcamp. Actually, Practicum curriculum brought me additional value as Developer and Designer to align my knowledge to the latest accessibility and Web standards.I thought I will be able to finish easily this course but it is not this way! I got surprised to see that I tripped on the simplest part I considered before the CSS. I was expecting to experience some issues when we get to the algorithms, JavaScript, React, back end parts that are well known to be more challenging even for developers with experience. The Program of 9-10 months is based on Sprints that gives you the right tools to use when building the projects every 2-3 weeks. The review process and the projects activities gives you the real world work environment and prepare you to be ready to join any Company’s Developer team at any time. The Sprints are build having in mind the job ready Developers. The curriculum is geared to make you build your portfolio of projects by following the original mockup design files. You will collaborate through GitHub using a professional developer's workflow that will help you in your Developer job.I don’t have enough words to recommend Practicum by Yandex Curriculum, join today and you will be definitely happy with your choice! I am very glad that I decided to start the Yandex Practicum course.
Yandex Practicum creates a really cool community. Newcomers to IT often suffer from the fact that when faced with problems, they cannot / are afraid to ask other people for opinions on how to solve them. Here you will never feel left alone with a problem. Your classmates are a truly amazing source of knowledge. We are all of different levels, we came here with different goals, but everyone is ready to help each other whenever possible. If you are a beginner, it's best way to start.
Thank you Yandex.Practicum for this! -

Practicum by Yandex is an excellent service with very informative courses. I'm glad I made the decision to take the course and have already learned a lot and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. There is a paid portion of the course after the free trial segment I plan on paying for as well. It’s amazing how I can learn an absolutely new profession in just 7 months. After I finish the course, I will for sure find a high paying job cause the demand for IT professionals is at an all time high. I believe that Practicum by Yandex is an incredibly useful platform for future generations to come. -

I really enjoyed my mentors – Grigoriy, Darya, and Aleksey! They did a great job making sure to explain the theory in an easy to digest way. At one point, I was really freaking out about my first responsive design assignment. But Grigoriy was so super-reassuring and helpful in his feedback, that I started to feel very confident. As a result, now I know how to design a mobile-first site that will look great on any screen. And more!
The best course ever. Don't hesitate to take it if you want to learn how to build websites and apps. I had no background at all, but those awesome mentors did a very good job explaining the basics. The lectures were easy to follow. Immediate practice and satisfaction after completing every assignment made me want more. And here I am now, a proud owner of the course certificate and all the knowledge I wouldn't get elsewhere. Thanks so much, guys!

I was very excited to find this training. I work in web development for several years now. And I am always looking for high-quality learning resources for our interns. I thought an intensive 7-months course would be a great addition to their 20 hours per week internships, and oh my, was I right.
Practicum instructors clearly have real-world industry experience and are tech-native. The whole course leads you from the very basics all to the way up to final project culmination. And I can tell you that the knowledge acquired in this course is very close to what I expect from a junior developer when considering him for a full-time position. Apps and landings projects you work on during the course are far from being trivial. They will prepare you for real-world web development if you work hard enough.
At first, I thought that there was a little too much hand-holding. But then I realized that there are people with no IT background doing it on their own at their homes, so the amount of hand-holding is just about right. Finally, the course is a great quality/price compromise and is adequately timed. -

What makes Practicum training stand out is its instructors. Web Development mentors are young and techie. They have a lot of practical experience in what they teach. You actually get to interact with them, and they are ready to help and always available to answer your questions. That's what I call pure dedication. Also, I was very nervous about submitting my first coding for review. Apparently, at 35, I still hate being graded! But after receiving the feedback on my first submission, I stopped thinking about the grades and concentrated on the learning process. Many thanks to instructors and the entire Practicum team for these 9 months of intensive learning (I even code in my dreams now!))). Cheers :)

This was my first experience with online learning. I had no particular expectations except for wanting to learn how to build a simple website for my side hustle. I started with a free part of the course and finally ended up completing the full 9 months of Web development training! If someone had told me six months ago that I'd write a music app in JavaScript and know how to create websites and admin panels, I would have laughed in their face. But guess what, I did it all, thanks to Practicum!
The thing I liked the most was that there were no big scary chunks of information. On the contrary. The theory was delivered step-by-step in smaller bits and dozes. And the course made us apply them into practice as we went. The interactive platform was very intuitive and learner-friendly. And the mentors were very supportive and commented on every assignment. It's hands down the best course ever. If I could complete it, you can. -

Very well done. The information was well explained in the videos. Every concept was illustrated by a good example and followed by a practical assignment. This helped digest information and understandeach concept clearly. Learners get real-life tasks from the course' day one. This helped me a lot with not forgetting what I'd just learned :DI feel like I was spending more time on my assignments than an average learner (especially when it came to running SQL queries). So mentors' accessibility was highly appreciated. Keeping regular contact with every course instructor really helped me claw through the difficulties of stats and coding.I really recommend this 6-month course to anyone who struggles with basic stats and wants to learn how to structure and analyze data, and how to apply it in business. Thank you, Practicum team, for this intensive learning experience.

The course will activate your brain) but I'd like more tasks
I am pleased with the course. Not all the tasks were 100% straightforward, which helped keep my brain active. However, I'd like to have some additional problems to really master my knowledge.
