Tecnológico de Monterrey Boot Camps

Before enrolling in the course I had interviewed for a few tech and research-oriented positions in my field and failed to move past the last stages of the process, so I decided that I needed to get better prepared to meet the demands of today's data-driven world.
This Bootcamp's curriculum covers a lot of ground and it succeeds to stay within industry-standard tools and practices that have given me the confidence to work with real-life data analytics and data engineering tasks. The Bootcamp doesn't require a computer science background but it helps to have university-grade foundations in computation, mathematics, and statistics as well as some experience with programming languages. On many occasions, because of the fast pace of the program, I wished I had more time to deepen my knowledge of certain topics and tools like web technologies, cloud computing, and Python libraries, but at least the curriculum revisits them later on and expands on them appropriately. The career services are good but it's hard to prioritize them early on with so much going on in the lessons and assignments.
The way I get the most out of the course is by being confident using everyday tools like Git, Google, the command line, and code editors, as they can get in the way of learning more complex topics further down the road. The rest is applying the course materials in whatever interests you the most. The first 4-6 weeks can be difficult as you adapt to the schedule but it gets easier once you make a habit of learning and practicing technical skills while progressively becoming a better data analyst.  Read less

Sometimes, we just need change. Trained as a Mechatronic Engineer with over 5 years of experience in the automation field, I knew it was time to shake things up. It can be scary to make the career change so I spent time trying to teach myself the basics. I quickly realized that if I wanted to do well in this new field, I was going to need mentors to take me to the next level. 

Enrolling in the ITEMS Bootcamp was my best decision. It can be a big learning curve but my Instructor and TAs had been always involved and reliable sources to solve any kind of doubts we were running into. You can immediately see their commitment to details and staying ahead in an ever-changing field. This program cares about your success and as you grow each week. 

Having taken numerous courses prior to this bootcamp, I'm happy to report that this program has offered me top-notch professional growth and as I venture into the world of coding. I'm amazed at how much I've learned already!

To anyone on the fence, I encourage you to explore the program curriculum ahead of applying. It's true that this is a fast-paced experience which demands time commitment as you hone your coding skills. But don't let that stop you, the reward is so worth it! Read less

I´ve heard several times the following statement "Learning is king, and data is king".
 With the upcoming trends and innovations in the tech industry this is really close to the truth. As the tech industry grows all data related skill are not becoming desirable, but a must have. When I graduated college, I came to realize that most of other industrial engineers like me in the tech industry had a data profile. There are a lot of hard skill involved in Data, so my question was: Where to begin?
A friend of mine showed me the Data Boot Camp from Tecnológico de Monterrey. As soon as I realized this bootcamp had every single hard skill on demand in the job market I knew I´ve found what I wanted (and needed). The Tecnológico de Monterrey made the transition from getting information to applying really smooth. 
From day one in the bootcamp you feel like home. The Bootcamp has a success manager, a lot of technical assistants (TA´s) and the instructor, and more resources for your success. The path is smooth but not easy, you got to put in the hours and the effort the accomplish the online material homework and challenges. Even before starting the bootcamps teaches you about dealing with frustration, and confusion when learning new skills. Getting frustrated, not getting the right answers and feeling confused are actually part of the right path, that´s why my favorite aspect of the program is that you can feel all of that, but never alone. You have your classmates and the bootcamp crew ready to help you.

The content of the bootcamp is complete, and has everything it promises. The class managed to learn from basic to mid-advance level.

My main advice for people willing to take this program is that you have to be very disciplined with your study and work times to the course. You got to give this course at least 2 hours per day. And my second advice would be to learn how to learn. Things work ouy easier when you adapt the study material with how you learn.

Coming from a financial background, I wasn't really sure where to start my journey to data science, there were a lot of schools, books, videos, and it was really confusing for me where to begin. Fortunately, I came across this bootcamp and since the first contact, everyone is really helpful so you can make the correct choice. 
I had some coding experience prior to the bootcamp, however, I think they really start from the basics and increase difficulty as weeks goes by. The instructor and teaching assistants (TA's) are really committed to help you understand every topic, and at least for me, José Manuel Barrera, the instructor, is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Not only because his technical knowledge and how he explains it, but also because he always is guiding you and telling you which paths you can take after the bootcamp ends, as well as the pros and cons of certain programming languages or technologies, which is very helpful so you can keep on the right track depending on what you want.
Moreover, the weekly homeworks and projects really get you to practice all what you've learned, forcing you to also research on your own and learn new stuff on the go. 
Just a warning! Although it's a part-time bootcamp, it is really challenging and fast-paced, it might not seem like that on the first weeks, but it gets really difficult, so if anyone is willing to take this bootcamp, I would really recommend you to consider the free time you can dedicate to it (they recommend you about 20 hours of practice per week, which I think it's just minimum, you could need more) and if you're really prepared to give all your effort into this (also try to not skip any class because even though they are recorded, is hard to catch up).

I decided to join this program as my professional responsibilities were expanded to lead a SW team with Front and Back end developers, I needed to update my skills in this area in order to understand and challenge my new team.
My expectation as of now at the middle of the program has been exceeded, as I am able to code with the main tools of modern web understanding frameworks and starting testing, for the second half the program will go deeper on back end and react which according to my experience so far will give me all the knowledge to confidently perform.
My advice for someone looking to start in this program would be: be ready for practice based learning which this program is full off. Read less

Since I started with any previous knowledge on programming, I can tell you that this coding boot camp is a great opportunity for everyone in search for develop programming skills. I came here looking for knowledge to use it in a new research area called digital humanities and my expectations were overcome. The boot camp focuses on web development, and gives you all the tools needed. The instructor and TA’s are great guys with great knowledge on the topic, but it is important to say that 70 %, at least, the learning is on you, because you will need extra time, and seriously, you will need it. You will be surprised on the knowledge that you will achieve after this boot camp. Absolutely recommended for anyone who wants to learn to code.

This is a very guided program, with a medium pace, which is perfect for people who have spare time for these types of bootcamps. Content is complete, and all projects are done collectively. Overall, this bootcamp is great for complementing you career, but it will be harder to pivot into a career path towards code.

It's an excellent course to start a coding carrier, you will still need further knowledge for a full carrier. You should know that the assistance and support that you will receive would be the best that you could get but you will have to spend time outside class to be able to develop these skills properly. To really know if this course is what you are looking for it is best if you verify the course information and not just what the admission assistance could tell you about the course contents. This course only covers web development if you are interested in app development this is not the course for you. It is my opinion that there are lessons of these course that arent really develop for someone that doesn't have ANY previous knowledge on coding but with the good disposition of your instructor and TA´s you would be able to get on track. Overall it's a really good opportunity for anyone that is interested in starting a coding carrier even if you don't have any previous knowledge.

I've been a developer for the last 10 years, but I never had any formal training. Been able to interact with so many fellow developers really helped me a lot. Over the past six months, I have learned more than I could have ever imagined. My coding skills improved so much and I even got a big promotion at work. I would definitely recommend this program for anyone trying to improve their coding skills, it really doesn't matter if you are an experienced developer or someone who is just getting started. Your projects/ homeworks will actually include some of the newest technologies used in today's market.

I wasn't really satisfied with my career, so I looked for options and stumble upon the ITESM Coding Bootcamp, it was a demanding but satisfying experience,        In just few months I was able to make a full career transition to IT, landing a job as a web developer. Enrolling in Tecnológico de Monterrey's online coding bootcamp was a challenging, fun and rewarding experience. Every week we learned something new and built upon previous activities, which made our journey to become full-stack web developers as seamless as possible. Even though all our classes were online, the dynamic between our instructor, TAs and us students was as good as that of any in-person class I've taken, and arguably better represents the workflow of modern development, which usually involves teams working remotely from different parts of the world. I'd fully recommend this course to anyone who has a genuine interest in learning web development and enough free time to commit to six months of intensive work.

Enrollment in the bootcamp was a challenging and rewarding decision.

I studied business administration and, since 2008, I have related to the sale of technological solutions.

Undoubtedly, the bootcamp is an excellent complement and today I see it as an essential to understand the current environment, regardless of whether you are going to work in the technology area.

The bootcamp provides the bases and structure to develop robust solutions. Of course, like everything, it requires a great commitment and dedication, at least 15 additional hours per week.

I am very satisfied, the instructors know a lot and, as they are in the market, they know the best practices. The most important thing is that they are always willing to help, even outside of class.
