A great starting point
Going into this bootcamp, I had loved computers my whole life but never had any technical training in them. This course was a great way to get a brief introduction with a ton of different topics. It honestly feels a bit overwhelming with so much information coming at you so fast, but take really good notes and ask a lot of questions and you will extract the full value of this course. Worthwhile, fun, clear
I really enjoyed my experience with the bootcamp. I believe it provided valuable skills and a good focus on fundementals. I do however feel like it wasn’t voiced loud enough from the program (although it was said from various instructors) that to be successful in finding a job post-bootcamp requires a good amount of outside learning and practice. Slightly disappointed especially for the price tag
Course felt rushed. everything you can learn online for free condensed in a organized course of $15k plus interest in 9 months. Also help you prepared for the CompTIA certificate but you still have to pay for that separately. Some Classroom lessons need updating since they were working with older version of software and not the current one. 1st half of the course is basically the essentials like Windows, Mac OS, Linux then jump into the less common stuff like Microsoft server, AD, SCC...Course felt rushed. everything you can learn online for free condensed in a organized course of $15k plus interest in 9 months. Great Experience
Had a terrific time during the course, learned a lot that will help me in my career going forward. It is a bit pricey for the program but very worth it. By far my favorite was the Ethical Hacking course as it teaches one what to be aware of while performing on the job or even in your everyday life. Fantastic Bootcamp. The BEST
I was a student assigned to SDSU cohort 08. The best decision I have made for my career in a very long time. I wanted to level up my skill and general knowledge in the Cyber Security domain. The objective was to gain enough new skills and knowledge to assist me in passing some of the important industry certifications. My hope was to obtain a Security +, Linux+, Network+ and Ethical Hacking. Each of the certifications would help my gain more opportunities in education. When I began I was employed as an educator for a number of local community college. I was hoping to find my way into Cyber Security specific education and training. SDSU cyber security Boot Camp
The main thing that attracted me to this program is the introductory course, it allowed me to see if cyber security was right for me, turns out it was. After completing the online boot camp, I continued my training by completing multiple entry-level certifications, and I now work as an associate cyber security instructor. Good program…But the price not so much….after completing and during the program I discovered there are way cheaper methods to learn what was being taught. The program should try offering maybe an Internship or some job programs that can help justify paying $20K for a Bootcamp.

Waste of time and money!
Personally speaking, this course was a complete waste of time and money. $15,000.00 Stolen by SDSU and HackerU/ThriveDX.
Instructors were not properly prepared to teach the course, and in some cases were not even familiar with the curriculum for the course they were teaching. In one course one of the instructors made what I consider sexist and even derogatory ethnic remarks. Another instructor appeared to be falling asleep during the Zoom class.

The marketing material for this program. Is very misleading. The course is full of useless outdated material. Once you are in the program the rules regarding refunds are very strict and not in the students favor. This is a warning to be very aware of what your are getting into. Take your time to vet the program thoroughly. Make sure this program is for you. This is a very basic beginners course with a lot of outdated information.
Taking Google, Microsoft, Canva and Hubspot certification courses at your own pace could be a better use of your time and provide more up to date information. In many cases these courses and the certifications are free.
I would absolutely suggest to anyone that asks me about this course. Do your due diligence. Research other courses/options and think twice before giving HackerU or ThriveDX any of your money. I would not recommend this course to anyone.

If you are already a marketing professional, this bootcamp is not for you. This is a general overview of the topics that are taught without a full deep dive in. Especially for SEM. There are no ways to practice hands on tutorials so you can not practice these “taught skills.”
Some of these courses are only a day or 2 class meet ups long?! Not enough time to learn anything. Or over 75 hours long and you can not practice ANYTHING! Save your money and invest in an actual masters deg...If you are already a marketing professional, this bootcamp is not for you.
