Software QA Tester

The only thing which you have to do is to follow the instructions. Careerist has a direct strategy on how to become QA Tester. There were live lessons with helpful instructors who were ready to answer our questions. Then I joined an internship to grow up my practical skills, we tested both web and mobile apps and used different test tools. I could understand how to use them on real projects and indeed it wasn't required to use the code which was just amazing. After finishing the internship I was assigned to my mentor. She helped me with job search preparation, we had enough mock interviews to feel confident. Also, my mentor helped me to create a relevant resume and an attractive LinkedIn profile for recruiters. Even after I got prepared my resume and LinkedIn, we have constant communication and I get help with my interviews. I can feel that Careerist supports me and encourages me to change my life. -

Easy-Going and a lot of Information
The course was not difficult only if you really wanted to get into to the field. The instructors are very helpful and explain things well. My mentor was very helping and was always on my side. I had good support from him. He kept me going and pulled me through.
The material was taught with detail which was really good. -

It will be soon 1 year since I started working full time as quality assurance engineer after I completed the manual QA course and internship by Careerist. Moreover, 2 of my close friends were also able to land a QA job thanks to Careerist academic support and job interview guidance. To be honest I was really suspicious about this course at first glance since they claim to land you a 75k+ job with no experience required. However, now I can assure everyone who is still in a doubt - you can do it too. I think the main secret of Careerist's success is that they know what the market needs and how to teach these skills their students. Real-life internship also gave me the confidence and full understanding of what the job looks like and how to succeed in it. All you need to do is attend all classes (or watch recordings), do the homework follow the instructions to a t, and trust your mentor. -

For me, Careerist was truly Godsent. As a mother of young kids, I was looking at transitioning from relationship management to software QA, mainly because I wanted to work remotely and I do have an eye for detail. As I was browsing online, I came across Careerist and they had exceptionally good reviews, so I decided to enroll in the manual QA course. I loved that the course was so flexible with timings, all the instructors were fantastic and I especially learnt a lot from Lana. The course content is very good, the internship gave me experience and access to tools in a real work environment; and my mentor helped with my resume and interview prep. Careerist is very supportive of all their students and graduates, even after they land a job; the support team is extremely helpful with any questions asked. I was able to land a job 2 1/2 months after graduating from Careerist. And I will say my company is extremely happy with the skills I bring and the detailed reports I am able to deliver all thanks to the training I had at Careerist. If you want to move into the IT industry and have the attitude to work smart and succeed, Careerist will help deliver that success to you. -

In 2020 I happened to become furloughed from my sales job. At that point, I knew I wanted to have more security in my career. I happened to find a listing on social media, the day I made this decision. After speaking with someone regarding my interest in the Manual QA program, seeing as I had no coding experience at the time. I thought it would be a great opportunity. I was right! Not only did the self-paced lessons allow me to work at my own pace, but the instructors and assistants were able to answer questions I had regarding the material. I attended both the Manual and Automation boot camps. I would recommend having some coding logic under your belt, prior to taking the Automation course as the instruction can get away from you if you lack that experience...(like me). The job placement prep was spot on and my personal Coordinator was very thorough in reviewing the material. -

I did some courses in Software QA Automation with Careerist and men, I have been inviting and directing my friends (who are still wondering about my great turn-around) to Careerist as I write. Few things you must be aware of, as you register with them: 1. Be sincerely ready for a Bootcamp not to be pampered. 2. Don't make yourself an 'Accent hunter'. Instructors might have accents that's not American (this is not news, we have that all over high schools and colleges), but are super-duper talented, very very knowledgeable and industrially experienced. 3. They're NOT job givers (they never said that), but they'll assist you in your job search journey all the way- helping with Resume prep, Interview prep. etc. 4. Even after you graduate, they still maintain a resource base with you. 5. Have a good plan for yourself to moving into the IT world and don't expect anyone to parcel you and throw you in there. No one can do that! You can not for example be transiting form being a Music graduate to the IT world and not put in some extra effort to understanding what you're moving into.
Careerist as a Bootcamp is a great place to invest your time and money. I cannot emphasize the benefits enough in this forum. I got 2 SDET jobs almost two month after graduating with them. And being in the practicality of the job now, I can confidently announce to anyone that care to listen that, their Course Curriculum and Interview questions are next to none. I highly recommend them to anyone desiring to be a Manual or Automation QA. -

Don't do it! The tech sales course charges $1000 and presents talented and high-status businessmen as teachers to draw in students and give us a course with content as rudimentary as one can get from any Sales 101 Youtube series, promises closely guided career search counseling, but in practice, hires mentors that recommend lying about the student's work experience, offer only a resume template and added buzzwords and who also need to be reminded multiple times over weeks to turn on Job Application Services that only results in work opportunities from jobs totally unrelated from Tech Sales, like 100% commission pay structure insurance or door to door salesmen jobs. In the end, the student goes out, applies on their own and interviews daily for over a month, with sometimes multiple interviews per day yet no communication from the mentor, until the student lands a job on their own, and then is contractually obligated to pay up to $25,000 over the next 24 in-consecutive months of labor. Don't be so desperate for help because you won't find it here!Max Glubochansky of Careerist

Dear Mr. Carvalho, Sam. You are around a 50th in a row who is saying exactly what you have said here but in different media. Well, not word in word (like a resume template you mention above:) ), but the contents are generally the same: very poor level of aducation, fake resume and somehow a student lands a job on his own. Right into that fiels where he almost received a zero knowledge from Careerist, he/she finds a high paying job in tech. As soon as he/she starts get paid this high wages, he starts to invent how to escape his payouts under the ISA. So, the outcome from these stories is that you came to Careerist with no money and used the advantage of ISA, then got almost no education, tailored a fake resume as mentor requested, cheated the employer and got a job, think of cheating Careerist and not pay a penny because it does not cost it. Bingo! -

Overall I was pleased with the Manual QA course that I attended, which was held for seven weeks. I signed up for a CareerUp program last March with Careerist. I had been working in a QA Engeneer for 2 years and had reached the highest level of my role. I was eager to grow within my company and was looking to step up to the next level. I hoped to become atleast a team lead at bigger tech company. The program was amazing (and challenging at the same time!). Everyone at Careerist team was a great support. I finished the course in May i had three succsesfull interviews! And couldn’t be happier. В Description: In many subjects we are only scratching the surface and the instructors fast pace and foreign pronunciation of English doesn't help to really grasp the concepts in a strong way. Too much is left for the students to figure out by themselves. More examples and quizes are needed and a slower pace that takes time for introduction and better, more simple and hands-on explanations. Instructors are usually experts in their field so they should use their expertise in providing every day examples and brining matters that really matter to the center. The course is built around preparing the students to pass the interview in addition to other useful stuff taught in the course like the tools. Rating might go up if more content will be added as suggested. For very good courses I would mention Careerist courses as an example.Max Glubochansky of Careerist

I attended this class and paid upfront for Manual QA and Automation QA and graduated from Manual QA back in October of 2020. The curriculum was pretty decent and instructors were as well. I did not get my return of investment in this class as companies want you to have over the top of knowledge from SQL, to JSON and React and this class didn't necessarily teach hands-on in all this extra material that companies demand. I did try and take the Automation QA class as I was persuaded to take it by a Careerist counselor but with taking the class, I did not understand it and couldn't have a 1 on 1 mentor to help me through the process of understanding it so I dropped the class after a couple of weeks of taking it. I have called and emailed for a partial refund but still haven't heard back regarding my request of a partial refund and so wouldn't recommend pursuing this class since they don't offer 1 on 1 mentorship which I thought they would/did prior to signing up and also they don't have companies affiliated with them either to give that extra help in getting a job. -

The course is a good intro to Manual testing and testing software in general, but there are many other advanced aspects of testing not covered. Great platform if you are looking for a new job. I took the Manual QA course (class of July 2020) and the instructors and mentors were really supportive and patient. Normally I find remote learning a bit challenging, but it worked really well because of how practical and rich the program was. I feel ready to start my career in QA and considering taking the advance course (QA Automation) in the future, when I feel ready to learn some code.
I think if you are looking for practical training that is centered around the job market, their programs are the best. But if you are looking for pure education and academic theory, maybe Coursera is good enough.Anna of Careerist

Careerist AI Automation Review
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
The first week or so of the program was great because it was just prompting techniques. The instructor did an excellent job. But I think this is a strategy. The best classes are offered first because you get a 7 day refund. You don't know the rest of the curriculum is terrible until you get to the second or third week, but by that time it's too late. The second instructor who was teaching n8n and Make was clearly an automation expert, but not a teacher. The curriculum became extremely poor when the second instructor began to teach. There was no methodology. The second instructor made countless errors while teaching the class, and I got so confused while trying to follow along and make automations during the synchronous sessions. The videos for the asynchronous classes were outdated, and I struggled to create the automations even more. I had to search on YouTube for videos about how to complete these assignments. The internship was not a real internship. It was more of an extension of the course. I did not feel as if I was working for a real company. I did not even finish the course because my career counselor canceled twice. I have been asking for a refund because they did not honor their part of the agreement, but so far no reply. Save your money. You are better off joining a Skool community. -

Underwhelming and overpriced
My experience at Careerist was underwhelming. The course involved listening to stories and role-playing. Negative comments on Slack are deleted, which is misleading. The job search tool is just a job board for LinkedIn and Indeed. The high cost, including resume creation, seems unjustified. -

Totally Unsatisfied with the Internship part of Program
Read more Read less of Anonymous's review
The course of learning the technical part of being a manual QA technician, careerist gets 5 stars but who can't write a 5 star course of information in a powerpoint presentation. Today it is all about the hands on work which is where things got dicey. The internal internship was great! My team lead was very informative and completed his part of reviewing and giving feedback in a timely manner. However when it came to the external internship which I believe is the one that counted the most, my team lead dropped the ball all together. I am currently at the end of the intern and I have completed all five task that were assigned to me and have not received not one review or feedback on any of the work that I have completed. Then when I reach out to the internship group as well as my team lead I feel as I was brushed off. I get a message from the intern group saying they will reach out to the team lead and I get a message from my team lead that says "It was a technical error and that I have passed the internship". But me being the technical person I am I went back to look at my task again and woooooow they are still sitting waiting to be reviews with no feedback at all not even a great job. So did I really pass? Horrible experience at this point especially for that amount of money spent. Maybe I'm a one off but if I could do the whole process over I definitely would not. I don't even care to finish at this point just take my money as a loss an walk away.
