MakerSquare School of Applied AI is an Austin-based AI training provider for professionals, founders, and business owners who want to build with AI, not just learn about it. Programs are in-person, small-cohort, and hands-on from the first hour.The flagship program is a two-week intensive designed for people without a technical background. Students start with a real problem from their own work and leave with working software that solves it — an internal tool, a client-facing app, an AI agent, or an automated workflow that runs without them.The curriculum uses the tools working builders actually use: Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Supabase, Vercel, and n8n. There are no lecture-only days. Every session ends with something built and running, and the program closes with students demoing what they shipped.MakerSquare also runs private AI training for teams — three-day intensives that take a company's own workflows and rebuild them with AI. Based in Austin, MakerSquare hosts community events, meetups, and demo nights that connect students with local founders, operators, and technology professionals.

One of...I’m the founder and CEO of a marketing agency here in Austin, and I joined MakerSquare because I wanted to get beyond working entirely inside claude chat and chatGPT to understand how to build more directly from the terminal.
One of the biggest takeaways was learning a terminal-first workflow that lets me stay much more LLM agnostic. Especially useful for our business because we produce a high volume of content for ourselves and our clients. Model quality varies for different parts of the writing and editing process over time, so being able to switch between them without rebuilding the workflow is valuable.
The program also gave me a much clearer framework for thinking about agentic systems. And I came away with ideas for how we can build an agentic content engine as we scale our content infrastructure, which is something I plan to implement over the coming months.
Marliis was also a great instructor. She was well prepared, patient and supportive throughout the program, especially when helping people work through concepts at different levels of technical experience.
