Kal Academy
Kal Academy is a non-profit based in Seattle, and offers 16-week, part-time online bootcamps in software development, full stack web development, and artificial intelligence. Kal Academy is women-focused and diversity-driven, and their goal is to help fill the skills gap while training coders from all backgrounds. Most Kal Academy bootcamps are offered on the weekends and meet live for 1-2 hours, so students can juggle work and parenting schedules. Bootcamp instructors are industry-experienced experts who also work in the tech field.
The Full Stack Web Development bootcamp covers topics like React, MongoDB, Angular, JavaScript, algorithms, and data structures. Students will build cloud-based applications throughout the courses for hands-on experience.
The Software Development bootcamp covers topics like C#, object-oriented programming, multithreading, Xamarin, algorithms, and data structures. Students will build applications throughout the course for a hands-on experience.
The Artificial Intelligence bootcamp covers topics like Python, machine learning, regression, natural language processing, and deep learning foundations. Students receive a laboratory-based introduction to robotics in this course.
Kal Academy encourages women and underrepresented minorities from all walks of life to apply. Applicants do not need to have any tech experience since the bootcamps are created with total beginners in mind.
Kal Academy’s courses are designed to give underrepresented students the skills they need to begin a career in the tech field. Bootcamp students receive career support, such as interview preparation. Kal Academy graduates have landed tech roles at companies such as Microsoft, Google, AT&T, Allysis, and more.
