College of Southern Nevada offers two, 18-week online coding bootcamps: Back End Software Developer and Front End Software Developer. Classes for both bootcamps meet online on Wednesday evenings. The bootcamp consists of 13-18 hours of weekly content and homework. Bootcamp students will have a weekly, 30-minute personal session with their mentor.
The Back End Software Developer bootcamp curriculum covers Java, algorithms, OOP, design patterns, and unit testing. Back End students will learn SQL, JDBC, DDL, database concepts, and DML. Back End students will also learn Spring Boot, AWS, JWT, REST, and JPA.
The Front End Software Developer bootcamp curriculum covers Java, algorithms, OOP, design patterns, and unit testing. Front End students will also learn HTML, CSS, JQuery, Bootstrap, and AJAX. Front End students will also learn ReactJS, JSX, AWS, REST, and NPM.
To be eligible for the bootcamps, applicants must be 18 years old or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. No prior coding knowledge is required. Basic computer literacy is preferred. Students will complete an aptitude test prior to the first class session.
Upon bootcamp completion, students will receive a certificate. This bootcamp is a not-for-credit vocational training offered by the Division of Workforce and Economic Development at College of Southern Nevada. Students who are unemployed or underemployed may be eligible for financial support to pay for the course through the Nevada One-Stop Career Center.
