I enjoyed the Caltech/Fullstack Cyber bootcamp, it introduced me to a wealth of foundational concepts and technical skills.  The instructors, and IA (Zach Babich Brown and Tony Diaz) were really great to work with.  Questions were always encouraged and I felt the instructor and IA were very approachable.  If you are pretty new to cybersecurity like I was, I'd definitely devote as much time as you can to focusing on your coursework.  This is a bootcamp, so a lot of information is covered in a short period of time.  

One thing to note is that a lot of your time will be spent on working through problems and learning as you go.  You'll spend a lot of time working with your classmates and instructors on technical concepts and problems.  For me, it was an adjustment going from your typical college environment where you listen to lecture for hours and go home and do some homework.  Here, you work through problems and learn as you go, and lecture time is pretty minimal.  It definitely requires patience but if you enjoy the material it will be a rewarding experience.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this bootcamp.  Best of luck!

I attended the Fullstack Academy, Cybersecurity Bootcamp Part Time, and I'm so glad that I did. During the pandemic, while being on lockdown and contemplating my future, I stumbled across Fullstack and their bootcamps, did some research into them, and found that the Cyber Bootcamp was right for me. Soon enough, I signed up and was in my first class. 
The learning experience for me was definitely a struggle (I had no tech experience prior to this course) but I did my best, and studied/practiced as much as I could and that hard work and dedication payed off! 6 months later, I had finished!  I was so proud of myself and my other classmates. The Fullstack staff are SO helpful, supportive, and understanding. Also, the friendships and connections I gained throughout this experience are priceless.
A HUGE Thank you to the Fullstack team, my Instructor Michael Spracklen, and the two IA's who helped me if office hours countless times throughout the course, Patrick Ho and Alecks Topacio.
I have already recommended this course to multiple friends who are looking to brighten their future as well.

Bottom line, the Cyber Bootcamp gave me the foundations I really needed to succeed, I graduated in 6 months, and 5 months later landed a new career that pays $20K more than my previous job. This is lifechanging, and I cannot wait to grow my tech skills to move up in this industry.  Read less

Overall - A wonderful learning experience and exploration of the world of cyber security with a very helpful staff from Caltech/Fullstack. They never made me feel inadequate at any time (personally-no, knowledge on the topic-yes) and their combined knowledge helps provide multiple perspectives to any topic/situation.

Instructors - Couldn't have asked for more from Jo and Youssef, who went above and beyond to satisfy my curiosity. They never shied away from questions, whether they're coursework or job-related, and were very willing to share their personal insights on the topics covered. Patience is a more of a virtue than ever, and it was a pleasure learning from those who incorporate it into their practice. The only area I couldn't find success in was asking them a question they couldn't answer.

Curriculum - Covers computing/networking/security/Python fundamentals and eventually incorporating them into red/blue team perspectives and functions - starting from the big-picture objectives and diving into detailed techniques. I highly recommend doing the pre-work before each class to help you make the best of the in-class lectures and labs.

Job Assistance - Short of spoon-feeding you a job, Caltech/Fullstack's career counseling staff provides a wealth of information, advice, and practical content that should give you more than a fair chance at placement post-graduation. At the time, I was a student about to complete my undergrad in cyber security. Still, after I came across the Caltech Cyber Bootcamp, I knew that the curriculum could immensely help me expand my skills and knowledge base that much more. I can truly attest to the Caltech Cyber Bootcamp is an invaluable tool that truly does provide you the resources to go from being a novice to a professional in cyber security. Even with my background knowledge in the field, the technical skills that I gained in this bootcamp alone took me beyond that what I had come to know in my undergrad alone. I truly did become a professional in cyber security by expanding my technical skills, soft skills, and professional development skills throughout this immersive bootcamp. So much so, that upon graduation I was offered, and accepted, a position as a Cyber Security Instructional Associate with Fullstack Academy (the associate organization behind the cyber bootcamp).
