Avocademy not only supplied me with the tools I needed to get started in the UX/UI field, but it helped me gained the confidence to be a self-assured designer. I had no prior experience in the design field and was filled with dread about how I would do in this field because of it. The mentors were always there to show me that I had the skills and the determination to do well and learn new things, and I am so glad that I took the leap and decided to join the Foundations course. I am now a Career Jumpstart student and I feel ready to take on the world of UX/UI design. Overall Avocademy Foundations accomplishes the goals it sets out to do. In the beginning, I had zero UX/UI experience and now I completed my project and working with others on a real-world client project. You will learn the typical steps of UX/UI design and each step will give you a deeper understanding of the process. Avocademy Foundations will teach you to be a legitimate UX/UI Designer. The only downside in my opinion is that it is a time commitment, but if you have the time or just really want a new career with a better work-life balance, I highly suggest going through Avocademy! I enrolled in Avocademy with a very little knowledge of UI/UX design. I've taken a few free online courses so I was familiar with the terms. I personally found the foundations course very helpful as far as the course goes. The content in there is a pretty heavy load for someone who had a full time job but regardless, the mentors were pretty easy to reach and they offer very useful feedbacks on the assigments. I'm now enrolled in their career jumpstart program and I'm looking forward to learning more.  Read less

I still remember the feeling I had when I finished my Foundations project and received my badge. I had just received my completion notice and was looking through my project in my portfolio with the words "Sole Designer" staring back at me and I teared up; I had done it! I was so proud of myself for what I had made and all the work I had put in. I was proud that in a short amount of time, I had gained a solid understanding of what UX/UI design is, and I had developed the skills to put the practices into play and create something fun and functional that also looked good. 

The Foundations bootcamp is put together very well. The course provides a wealth of information, which is simplified into digestible terms, and provides more in-depth resources on the side for you to explore. They take you through the whole process step-by-step so you get experience in every area. I truly feel like I learned every base skill set needed in this field and I can only continue to grow from here. I felt supported by my mentors and honestly wish I could have spent more time with them because they have so much knowledge.

The information created in this course was phenomenal. I had 0 experience with anything tech, but now I feel more equipped to take on roles career-wise in tech. Even though you have a guide, you can move at your own pace, and the mentors are very understanding if you get backed because they understand life happens. But they are with you every step of the way and truly show you the ropes to a career in tech.

Having finished the UX/UI Design Foundations program and continuing with the Career Jumpstart program, the skills that I have learned are immediately relevant and up-to-date. It gives students enough time to go through the videos and content to practice skills with an individual project. Instructors are clear, Design mentors know what to do and what to focus on during the learning experience, and the curriculum has been built up with clarity in mind. Compared to other bootcamps the price is on point as well. I didn't want to do another Design master's degree in the US/EU due to time, budget, and relocation to transition into a fast-paced industry. I signed up for Avocademy's UX/UI Foundations course after taking different, smaller courses through Udemy. I needed to make a career change and I wanted a field that could provide stability for many years to come. Avocademy factors in people's lives, they understand how much time you can commit to the courses. There are mentors available to give guidance, review projects, and give feedback that will benefit your learning and the projects. The one downfall with the reviewing of projects is that multiple mentors can review the same project and potentially give different comments on the same sections contradicting the other. It becomes quite frustrating. Also, sometimes, it's clear that the mentors copy and paste comments in the rubrics or when responding to our submissions. Overall, I would recommend Avocaemy. The mentors that lead videos in the lessons, you can tell how passionate they are and they genuinely want to help you. With ever-growing students, they are adapting the courses and finding what's true and tested.  Read less

I actually had no previous experience using Figma so it was a little intimidating to understand at first, but practice makes perfect and I feel confident I've got it down! I had a wonderful experience taking Avocademy Foundations and whole-heatedly recommend this program.  It is a challenging course and did take me a little over four months to complete (I also work full-time) but I learned a tremendous amount. Also, I contemplated learning UX/ UI design on my own.  I’m very happy though with my decision especially because of the mentorship it offered.  I think it was important for me to follow a formal course and have some skin in the game.  There is no way I could have grown as much or been challenged (in a good way) without taking a formal program. I’m now in the Avocademy Career Jumpstart program and  working on my first group project. I’m looking for to getting through this phase and start job searching. Read less

Avocademy UX/UI Foundations was a great experience!  They do a great job at easing you in, but overtime the course's structure lets you work more independently and be more creative.  There are so many mentors to help assist with any questions you need throughout the whole course and I completed the course with a portfolio I love!  Read less

It's the opportunity to learn skills that can expose you to new challenges and opportunities that will change your way of thinking. My experience here at Avocademy in the UX/UI Foundations program was nothing short of amazing!! Foundations provides a wealth of resources throughout your learning experience. I was most impressed with Avocademy as they went as far as having you take a quiz that classifies what your particular learning style is so that mentors are able to better assist. I have had previous mentors in different programs (trading, real estate) as well as attended quite a few institutions of higher learning, and this was never taken into consideration. Also, the level of consideration and guidance that you receive from mentors is bar none! This experience has exceeded my expectations, so much that I chose to move forward, apply, and continue my journey to their second program, Career Jumpstart. With all that being said, upon completion of Career Jumpstart, I will soon be in the position to transition from the mental health field to tech.
