RookieUp offers three levels of 8-week, design mentorship bootcamps: Learning, Building, and Launching. Instead of a set curriculum, RookieUp pairs students with mentors for personalized assistance with portfolio-building and achievement of career goals. RookieUp students can select the mentor of their choice from a curated list according to students’ goals. RookieUp students will also work with their own personal student advisor.
RookieUp Learning bootcamp students will improve their design skills, create a draft of their portfolio site, and create an action plan to launch their career. Learning students receive 4 hours of 1:1 live video sessions and weekly project feedback from their mentor.
RookieUp Building bootcamp students will create comprehensive case studies for their portfolio, improve their design skills and focus, and develop an action plan for job applications. Building students will receive 5 hours of 1:1 video sessions, one portfolio review session, and unlimited peer feedback sessions.
RookieUp Launching bootcamp students will turn their projects into case studies, build a unique portfolio, practice interviewing, and launch their career. Launching students will receive 6 hours of 1:1 video sessions, one portfolio review session, one private career preparation session, and unlimited peer feedback sessions.
RookieUp bootcamps are appropriate for students in all design fields including UX/UI Design, Visual Design, and UX Research. RookieUp Learning is designed for students who are 1-3 months into learning design, want to start building their first portfolio projects, and want to build a career action plan. RookieUp Building is designed for students who are 3-12 months into learning design, want to start building more advanced portfolio projects, want to build their own portfolio site, and want an action plan for job searching. RookieUp Launching is designed for students who are 9+ months into learning design, want to get their portfolio job-ready, want mentor support through the job application process, and are ready to launch their career.
