Zack had made a career for himself in front end development, but found the UX design part of his job the most rewarding. He wanted to move from Canada to the US and focus on UX so he enrolled in BrainStation’s User Experience Design diploma program in Toronto! Knowing the importance of a great portfolio for landing a job, Zack worked hard on his BrainStation capstone project, and shared his screen to show us how he designed it! Because Devmountain teaches tracks in UX design, iOS development, software QA, and web development, Katie got to collaborate with iOS developers on this group project. Katie is now starting her job as a Product Designer at PackBack and tells us how writing a case study about Gabble got her the job.

We spoke with three DigitalCrafts students, Lizzy, Nick, and Sarah, to find out how they juggled their jobs, families, and lives with learning to code in the Full Stack Flex bootcamp. Lizzy tells us how her employer encouraged her to upskill in Atlanta, Nick tells us about switching from IT helpdesk jobs to software development, also in Atlanta, and Sarah tells us about balancing bootcamp with caring for her 2-year-old in Houston.
