Audience and Style

Course Report’s audience is made up of men and women in various stages of researching bootcamps and changing careers. Interested in our specific demographics? Check out our QuantCast! We’re looking for content that is fresh and engaging to beginners but that goes beyond the basics. Our readers want to know how to choose their bootcamp, which languages to learn (and why), how to get in, and how to graduate at the top of their class.

Topics can range from specific advice on languages (eg. LAMP Stack vs MEAN Stack) to application tips (eg. How to Write a Killer Code School Essay), to tricks to succeed before, during, or after a bootcamp (eg. What is Test Driven Development or 5 Steps to Landing your First Job after Code School). Think about what makes your bootcamp or experience unique and how that can help the larger community.

Direct, practical advice that's both relevant and useful to students researching coding bootcamps.

Examples! Whether they're from your own experience or others' — our readers love hearing from those who've been there before.

Where it's useful and appropriate, organize your article into bullets, sections, or lists.

Submission Guidelines

Word count should be approximately 800-1500 words.

2-3 inline links are acceptable when directly useful to the reader. Use this format when including links: [text to be linked](

Please include a 2-3 line author bio with links to your website, blog, social media profiles, Twitter handle, Google+ ID, and a photo.

Republishing articles in full hurts our SEO (and yours!). We'd be happy to have you publish an excerpt or the first two paragraphs of a previously published piece with a link back to the original Course Report article.

Course Report does not compensate writers at this time. We do offer an author bio with links, as well as exposure and social media promotion to our community.
