"As a front end developer you are responsible for the look, feel and ultimately design of the site." You couldn't be farther from the truth. You are describing the role of a UI/UX designer not a front end developer. Your description of a back end developer is off too. You should do a lot more research before you write a blog post like this.
Hi James, You could apply for the Andela Technical Leadership Program in Lagos, Nigeria. It's a paid program where you learn how to code and then work with one of Andela's employer partners, with continued mentorship. You can read more about it on The New York Times. You can find information about applying to Andela here. Good luck!
Salaries are based on where you live. Making $130K/yr in San Francisco is almost equal to $90K/yr in Detroit. At the end of the day, savings are the same because the cost of living is different in both cities. Don't be surprised by these numbers. This is a highly misunderstood phenomenon. Sometimes people accept jobs in other cities because they are offered more salary just to realize they are actually making less because of cost of living.
Hi Santosh, You can work remotely with either front end or back end coding, so you should figure out which one you enjoy the most, and learn that. You also have the option of becoming a full stack developer, so that you can work on the front and back end. Some languages like JavaScript can be used for both front end and back end, so if you want to be versatile, JavaScript might be a useful technology to learn. Good luck!
