I am planning to build a startup. I do not have IT background yet I have started to learn from basic nevertheless. Please advice me what the most important thing to figure out? Looking forward to having your response.

Hi Asep, That's exciting you want to build a startup! It really depends on what sort of startup you want to build. If it's just a basic website with text on it, you can learn HTML, CSS, & JavaScript - here are some great learning resources. If you want to build something with more functionality, you will need to learn full-stack web development. If you want to build a mobile app, you will need to learn either iOS development or Android Development. Here is an example of an entrepreneur who learned to code to build an app for his business. Good luck!

So where are the bootcamps for back end development? Is the job market such that there's not a strong demand for back end developers so the schools are mostly offering front end & full stack? Really like what I've read about Full Stack Academy & I would need to do an online school but I'm interested in back end development.

Hi Ellen! A Full Stack bootcamp will teach back end development with a bit of front end (html/css/javascript). But there are very few "back end development" bootcamps. Someone who graduates from a full-stack bootcamp is ready to be a back end developer, and we have talked to many full stack bootcamp graduates who have found back end jobs, including Jisoo Shin of Grace Hopper Academy (Fullstack's coding bootcamp for women). One bootcamp that has a program specifically called "back end engineering" is Turing School in Denver, CO. Good luck!

HTML, CSS and JavaScript are the 3 core skills front-end devs should have, but HTML and CSS are not programming languages. jQuery or other JavaScript libraries and frameworks are not that vital. They come and go, as long as you have a firm grasp of JavaScript you won't have any problem adapting. This is why companies usually only skill test for the core 3 skills. Take this HTML, CSS and JavaScript coding test for example. Also called the holy trinity of front-end web development.
