    The Fire of Ambition Ignites

In the fall of 2023, I had never even opened the terminal before.   After six short months, I have gone to developing full stack web applications.   As a college dropout, I was worried I would not be able to complete the bootcamp but thanks to a friendly and informative instructor as well as a well structured curriculum, I was able to tackle and overcome the harsh challenges presented and hold my head high as a graduate.   Now for the first time in years I can see a hopeful path forward ...

Building an analytical mindset in a positive collaborative environment

I am a career changer transitioning from 22 years in healthcare to cybersecurity. For the past 3 years cybersecurity has sparked my interest, so I decided to take the leap and enroll in UNC-Charlotte's cybersecurity bootcamp. It was the best decision and an experience that I will remember for a life-time.  I enjoyed the instructional staff and making new friends through the program. The instructional team and my peers were very supportive. I enjoyed working with other students to complet...

Please avoid this bootcamp. As I'm sure most of you reading this post have found elsewhere throughout the web, that the UNC at Charlotte "Coding Bootcamp" actually has no affiliation whatsoever with the actual UNCC, other than paying them a portion of their revenue as a means to utilize the schools name & image. The actual company of this bootcamp is "Trilogy Education" or "2u", and a simple google search of either of the 2's "coding bootcamps" will give you a rough...

Thank you for your review, we appreciate your feedback. The student experience is our top priority, and we regret to hear your boot camp experience did not live up to your expectations.

Like you noted, UNC Charlotte School of Professional Studies has partnered with Trilogy Education Services (TES), a 2U, Inc., brand, to offer the UNC Charlotte Coding Boot Camp. TES works hand in hand with more than 50 top universities to expand access to tech education for working adults. Both UNC Charlotte School of Professional Studies and TES are truly dedicated to transforming participants' lives and aim to be fully transparent about this relationship throughout the entire learning experience.

We have a multi-step admissions process to ensure that individuals are set up for success. We begin with an initial phone interview, followed by a timed, critical thinking and problem-solving assessment that applicants must pass with a score of 70 or above in order to move forward. Only once prospective learners have made it through these screenings are they accepted into the program. Our enrollment agreement and admissions process do strive to make the refund policy for the program clear, noting that refunds are not possible after the drop period ends.

Our course material is designed to cover a broad array of topics using extensive research and input from industry employers, focusing on in-demand tools and technologies used in the local market while teaching participants how to learn so they can further hone their skills after completing the boot camp. We appreciate your feedback as we're constantly optimizing our curriculum and program offerings.

We have a dedicated career services team that provides comprehensive professional development assistance. While we do not secure direct employment for our students, we do provide up to 75 hours of professional development opportunities which include resume and portfolio reviews, virtual tech panels, technical interview training, and 1:1 meetings with their Career Coach once there is an employer-ready resume on file. We begin by helping individuals become employer-ready, qualifying them for additional support services that will then help them progress to becoming employer-competitive candidates who can ultimately enter job interviews fully prepared. We aim to be responsive to every request we receive and apologize for any delays you experienced in communication.

We would welcome the opportunity to speak with you further to see if we can provide any additional learning or career support you may need at this time. If you would like, please contact us directly at (704) 601-6030.

Full Stack Web Development Full-time Course

There are a ton of positives and negatives to the Full Stack Web Development coding bootcamp at UNC Charlotte. I will address both of these from my honest perspective as a full time student in hopes that it provides future students a true insight into what to expect as well as hopefully assist UNCC and Bootcamp Spot with improving the program.

Thank you for sharing your boot camp experience, Shawn! We couldn't agree more that in order to succeed in this program you will truly need to be passionate about coding and dedicate extensive time both inside and outside of the classroom.

We're thrilled you found our entire team to be valuable resources providing guidance and encouragement throughout your learning journey—we also think that Anthony, Maxwell, and Gemini are pretty fantastic at what they do, going above and beyond to help each student. Like you noted, our curriculum builds upon each topic and we find that learners become more and more confident in their skills as the course progresses. As the industry continues to evolve, our curriculum is continually being optimized using extensive market and employer research, so we appreciate your feedback.

Like you mentioned, our admissions process includes an interview and a timed, critical thinking and problem-solving assessment that applicants must pass with a score of 70 or above in order to move forward. Throughout the process, we do our best to emphasize the rigor of the program and ensure students are a good fit. We're continually optimizing our admissions experience and insight like yours helps us do just that.

You're correct that our professional development services are built on the principle of empowerment. While we do not secure employment for students, we do provide individualized support through technical interview training, portfolio reviews, resume/social media profile support, and more. We hope you were able to benefit from your coaching sessions and these other resources.

Congratulations on graduating, we appreciate you sharing your helpful advice to prospective students who are looking to delve into web development! We wish you all the best and are rooting you on in all your future coding endeavors.

The Data Analytics Boot Camp at UNC Charlotte - Main Campus

I am a Computer Engineer but I stayed away from software development for more than a decade. I was looking for training programs in data analysis to get adapted to current technologies and I found this Data Analytics Boot Camp at UNC Charlotte, which seemed very complete for my current needs.

This CyberSecurity boot camp was outstanding! I went into it knowing I loved the field (without any previous work experience in it) and grew even fonder of the subject throughout the course. I was notified of this course through a school email, and was very interested. As I had just been terminated early from a temporary position due to Covid, I knew I wanted to do something in my time and this turned out to be the perfect fit.
Our instructor, Aaron, was phenomenal. He is such a smart...

    UNCC Fintech Bootcamp, Would Recommend

The instructor, Johnny Wales, made this class very rewarding and enjoyable. His deep financial institutional knowledge, skill as a developer, and patience in class was the perfect combination for a professional and enjoyable environment. I was looking for a course to help me in my own position at a fintech startup, and I feel much more prepared to analyze data, evaluate technology vendors, and build my own solutions. This program was certainly challenging enough to make me feel like I wa...

I joined this program because I wanted to gain technical skills in the finance industry. This program did just that for me. I started with no coding background and learned everything through the course. My instructor and TA were great. Those two were very knowledgeable and each had backgrounds that added a ton of value to my experience. The program is tough. So much material is covered and you may not intend to use all the skills they teach. I’d recommend only taking this course if you a...

The cybersecurity boot camp provides a fantastic opportunity for all students to accel in the cybersecurity field whether a senior professional or a novice much like I was.
