SheCodes offers online hands-on coding workshops for women. Students can choose from various workshops, including Basics, a 3-week workshop covering HTML, CSS, and JavaScript introducing students to front-end development. SheCodes offers Plus, an 8-week workshop that teaches everything in Basics along with Bootstrap, Git, GitHub, hosting, APIs, and more. SheCodes Pro is a 24-week workshop where students will learn everything in Basics and Plus, along with Responsive Development and React. SheCodes Max has all of the features of Pro, with extra features to create an impressive coding portfolio, get feedback from expert developers, and a tailored career advice workshop. SheCodes’ mission is to bridge the gender gap in the tech industry.
SheCodes is open to beginners and aims to provide for those who want to enter the tech industry with the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to succeed. There are various workshop packages that students can purchase depending on their coding needs and existing skill level.
During the workshops, a SheCodes instructor will help students build projects like websites and apps for a portfolio to showcase skills to prospective employers. Instructor Matt Delac is a Full-Stack Engineer with over 10 years of experience specializing in JavaScript and Ruby and has worked with international tech companies such as Envato, Google, and Airbnb.

The homework ensures you practice what you've learned after the lessons and ,if you have any doubts, the assistants are available via Slack, which I think is the most powerful tool for communication nowadays.

Being a mom with a full time job didn't make it easy to start, and I was unable to find a course with deadlines I could follow with my agenda.
The price is very good, and they give you the chance to pay in instalments if you prefer. They can offer a discount if you are student or unemployed too.

Great Class for Beginners - more than expected
This is a great first step in understanding how to code in HTML, CSS and JavaScript using VS Code. While working, I found this model of teaching to be perfect for me as I could fit the lessons and homework around my schedule. There is a range of easy to complicated prompts, which help you build ideas one step at a time. There are tons of lessons for each week so they do not skimp in touching base on aspects of coding. A Solid Introductory Course
Matt provides easy to follow, step-by-step video lessons on learning code, always paired with written code and other resources to supplement the videos (links, examples, etc.). I found the homework to be an extra challenge beyond the lesson content! Which is exactly what I want out of this course--to be challenged to use the newly learned material independently. I also also appreciate the weekl homework as it keeps me accountable for practicing and building code often. I've wanted to learn coding for a while but, when working a full-time job, it can be tricky to find a course that offers a flexible timetable, and that's also affordable. I've really appreciated that it's possible to choose the 3-weeks workshop before eventually continuing with the more advanced courses. It's a great introduction, and allows you to see if you're happy with what you learn. Great course!

First, I would like to say that I have no coding experience whatsoever. I just graduated from college in May with a Kinesiology/Physical Education degree. My intention was to coach basketball at a University, or the public school system by the time August came. Second, while I was "sheltered in" due to COVID-19, I began to think about the future and what skill I needed to learn to keep myself valuable in the marketplace. SheCodes 3-Week Workshop
Excellent course for beginners!!! I had many preconceived notions about coding: 1) that it's mostly for men, 2) that it's hard, 3) that it takes a long time to learn. SheCodes completely shattered these ideas and gave me a newfound confidence in my computer skills. Matt's tutorials are easy to follow and the online course allows me to learn at my own pace. Now when people ask about me: "Can she code?", the answer is: "Yeah, She Codes.
