Nucamp is a part-time, 22-week full stack web and mobile development bootcamp in underserved communities across the U.S. and online. Nucamp offers a hybrid learning experience where students learn online during the week, and meet in-person with their instructor and classmates on the weekends. Nucamp is on a mission to make quality education affordable with the low cost of online learning paired with the motivation and support offered by in-person bootcamps. Nucamp also offers a 4-week introduction bootcamp teaching the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as a 17-week front end web and mobile development bootcamp.

There are up to 12 students per class, and one dedicated instructor. Students learn languages such as Javascript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, NodeJS, React, React Native, and MongoDB. Students will work in smaller teams of two to four to collaborate throughout the course and receive important feedback. By the end of the program, students will be capable of taking a project from its inception to developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and move it to a large-scale implementation.

Admission is open to all. To apply for the bootcamp, complete Nucamp's online registration form.

I chose Nucamp for the combination of in-person and online instruction, the part-time commitment, the accountability it provided, as well as for the price. It did not disappoint. I really enjoyed having a cohort of other local students to learn alongside, as well as an in-person instructor. Even when we had to switch to virtual workshops due to COVID-19, the experience was still positive. I would never have learned so much on my own; the weekly Saturday workshops were crucial to me sticking with it over the course of many months. The online weekly instruction is wonderful, and I have learned so much. Like any course, you get out of it what you put into it; you need to do some figuring-out of things on your own to get the most out of it. The portfolio projects are a great way to do that, and it's nice to have the Nucamp community and your instructor to help you out when there are things you don't understand.

I chose Nucamp so that I can continue to work while learning to code. During COVID-19, I've been able to continue learning. I'm thankful to have a knowledgable instructor who is extremely supportive.

I chose this bootcamp for the price and locality. During the covid-19, all workshops where you had to meet were done via live video conference. The bootstrap course was simple and to the point. The portfolio project assignment direction was a little ambiguous if working in groups since the git team workflow for wasn’t covered until people were having issues with git for group work. The instructor was pretty knowledgable and we had a slack channel for help (former students could also help in the slack). The instructor was timely in her messages and gaves lots of feedback. There’s  still the rest of the bootcamp to do but for some reason I cant complete the bootstrap course without submitting a review which just feels like Im forced to write one. But my review here is my own experience so I’m not making this up anyway.

Convenient and affordable.  A great way to get started in a new career or to just find out what coding is like.  The pace is challenging yet the coursework is very well presented in an easy to follow format.

I just finish HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I learned a lot from here at an affordable price.

The instructor very knowledgeable, the communities are cool! you get to connect with many people who have a passion the same as you! It feels great to be in a motivating environment like this.

Don't worry, if you have no experience. They won't be left you behind.
There are instructors, classmates, and people in communities trying to help and support you. It was a good experience and those were all I like about NuCamp!

I heard about NuCamp from a colleague at work who'd signed up for the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript course and was super excited about it - just before I signed up for a similar bootcamp whose price point was near the $10k mark. When I visited the NuCamp site to see what was being offered, at first I thought it was a "too good to be true" situation, as the lower pricing was mildly unnerving and I didn't trust it at first. However, after more research, consulting with my colleague, and finding out that I could go to classes after work, rather than quitting work to attend, I went ahead and signed up - I don't regret it at all! Though challenging, the coursework is engaging, the resources provided are super useful, and I love the sense of community that is fostered with the weekly workshops! I'll be back next month for the Full Stack Bootcamp. :)

Thanks!
