The biggest disappointment of my life!!!!

If you are working full time and looking for a supportive Bootcamp with teachers that actually help and care than this is the wrong place to be. I took part time software engineer program as I am full time employee and trying to get to the IT a bit faster than through regular school. At the beginning we had a great teacher Chat, he took his time with explanations and I did okay in this program. But it lasted for a several months because they changed teacher and then they changed the seco...

Falsified Job Placement Reporting, Disorganized Curriculum, all for the low, low price of $15,000

Are you seeking a career change? Have you been lured by promises of better compensation and opportunity? Don't be fooled by individuals from the placement-team who will tout falsified job placement percentages as evidence of better professional outcomes. The entire team at Flatiron School, from executive and management to placements and instructors, have absolutely no idea what's going on, and as long as they're getting your money by selling you on the hope of a new career, the...

    Zero Code Review!

I felt like they could have done a better job with filtering the job leads they had, providing a more conducive environment for learning (way too loud) and provided regular in-depth code review.

Flex Program is not Flexible enough

I joined Flatiron as a part of their Flex program for Software development.

Pros : Course content for the time I was on seemed organized

Cons : I joined the flex program because i was in a full time job with kids. I joined the program based on flexibility and during the time i was on had a job change due to which i could not commit to the corsework. I asked for extension multiple times, but they mentioned since it was a flex program, i had flexibility. However, they emaile...

    Admissions Cybersecurity Engineering

Applied for the Deloitte Career Advancement Program. I received an email stating that I need to take an admissions assessment. Requested a copy of the assessment and I was told it was not part of the admissions process. Confused already. Then I was told not to apply online to the Deloitte website. So why is the opportunity listed on several job boards? Sketchy. Then I received an email redirecting me to apply for another program at Flatiron from the same admissions person. If the admissi...

    Scam

The school is a complete scam. They take credit for students who find jobs but many of them found the jobs on their own. Career services does nothing. No job connections, just tells you Google is your friend. They do not care if you can barely afford to live as long as they get paid. If you can study on your own then do it. You do not need to spend thousands of dollars to learn how to use Google. If you have a cpmplaint, do not respect a response back. If they do respond they will laugh ...

    Web Engineering Bootcamp - Self-Paced

I did the self-paced boot camp. I was initially required to complete it within 15 months, but Flatiron School offered a three-month extension due to COVID-19. I would've dropped out otherwise because I found a full-time job that consumed most of my time shortly after getting into the program.  The technologies I learned are ruby, ruby on rails, Sinatra, HTML/CSS/Javascript, react, redux, and thunk.  The structure of the program is a...

    50/50 Good and Bad Experiance

The Data Science In-Person was really helpful. Basic to intermediate skills/knowledge are broken down chronologically and people with no background are really set up to be entry level data scientists. The career coaching, AKA job placement, looks promising with detailed support and steps to secure a job. However, for people looking to hone their skills and already at beginner to intermediate level, this is not the place to go to. You are generally looked down upon, verbatim 'None of you ar...
