Devmountain teaches Web Development, Java Software Engineering, Python Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Software Quality Assurance (QA), iOS App Development, and User Experience (UX) Design. The Web track covers front-end and back-end JavaScript (HTML/CSS, jQuery, AngularJS, Node.js, Express, data sources like SQL, Mongo, Firebase). The iOS track covers mobile development in Swift. The UI/UX course covers prototyping, visual/motion design, sketch, adobe suite, UX research, wireframing, and analytical tools. Devmountain instructors are all coding industry professionals and aim to bring real-world applications into the classroom. The immersive courses require 40 to 60 hours of pre-course work, 40 hours of class per week, and 10 to 20 hours of work outside of the classroom. The part-time programs require 30 to 40 hours of pre-course work, 11 hours of class per week, and 10 to 20 hours of work outside of the classroom. The school was started in 2013 in Provo, Utah.
The first step to applying for Devmountain bootcamp is to check out the courses and start dates. Once the student has picked a course, they must submit an online application. Next, students speak with a member of the admissions team by phone to further discuss the program. After the phone call, students must complete a challenge to ensure the program is a good fit. Finally, the admissions team will notify students if they qualify for acceptance. Devmountain is beginner-friendly and no experience is necessary, but the school recommends that students take their Coding Basics course before enrolling.

I almost didn't sign up for a bootcamp and wanted to do it myself with online courses. I couldn't really justify a remote camp because why not just do it through udemy otherwise? So I wanted something I could attend in person both for accountability and for atmosphere and environment. I also wanted something affordable.
The fact that the course was only 13 weeks was another big plus. I wanted to be done, and be working on my own projects and looking for a job. So this course gave me what I was looking for.
And hey, another huge perk? I was able to live in the student housing provided. :) The course was great! I would recommend it.

Intense, fun, worthwhile
After completing Devmountain's Coding Basics course, I promptly enrolled in the 16-week full time React Web Development Boot Camp. I knew of people who had taken this specific course and obtained employment immediately post-graduation. They encourage you to continue to reach out after graduation and offer to help during the job search. Challenging and fun
I had a lot of fun learning and exploring new topics about code and java that I had no idea existed. Foundations was a blast, the intro to coding curriculum was really well thought out with how each of the lectures and labs were laid out as well as the weekly tests. It challenged everything I knew about code previously while expanding on everything we learned through out the week. The capstone was the pinnacle of foundations with how much it challenged our knowledge to building something...I had a lot of fun learning and exploring new topics about code and java that I had no idea existed. The projects weren't any challenge it was very thoroughly laid out for you and made the projects seem very simple because of how it was basically put together for you. I would have really liked a weekly test or a morning challenge to help me better understand the course material. Because of how the specs curriculum was laid out I had a lot of trouble with my capstone project compared to my foundations one. But overall the specs curriculum was fun I still learned a lot from the projects and how certain things are meant to be set up in the back end. It was an intense experience but probably one of the most rewarding and self fulfilling things I've ever done in my life.
It was an awesome experience that helped lay the foundation for my new future. The instructor, Marohn Howard fostered a safe place for learning and community during the course which was mirrored by the rest of the faculty both during and after graduation. I could tell that they really wanted me to succeed and I felt supported the entire way. My only regret is that I wish I had done this years ago...!
